There’s a short delay before the toxic events start after a server restart. Things appear a-ok now.
Without giving anything away, I will say that the Kessex Hills you’ll see in November (and December, and next year…) is not the same as the one we had last week.
Have you previously gotten completion on that map? You only get the chest once, even if you complete the map again. (A POI was added at the Thunder Ridge Camp.)
In the Options is a slider for “Camera-Rotation Speed”. Try turning down the sensitivity.
What’s your current story step? Are you saying that when you enter the story step instance, there is nothing spawned on the map?
What’s your current story step? Where are you currently?
As mentioned in this thread, you need to hold down the 2 button to charge up the shot. If you just tap it, the shot will not have enough power behind it to go anywhere.
What do you mean “I can’t even initiate the quest”? You can’t reach the start point to enter the story instance?
From the Aug 20 release notes:
The amount of karma granted from consumable karma items has been increased. Karma boosts no longer affect the amount of karma gained from consumable items.

It’s not a bug.
No changes were made to that story step on the 15th. Are there any enemies around? That step is a final holdout that completes after you destroy the undead attacking at the courtyard.
The problem is that the bug is extremely random. I’ve played through this story step numerous times with no problems (as have most players) but there’s obviously a way to cause it to stall out. Unfortunately, I haven’t found this, so there’s really little I can do. Not all of the NPCs in the water can be revived; getting close to Elli should cause Zott to revive her. If you’re encountering another bug at another point, I need specifics.
You have to click twiceto choose a fear (you choose a fear, the Pale Tree has a response, then you click again to lock in the fear and leave the conversation), and we don’t have a rollback system for redoing your story. Sorry!
Those items were never intended to be usable in-game items. We didn’t want to force players to play a specific race/storyline to get the “optimal” items for their class.
This is an “all or nothing” achievement. You will not get any % for reading a single book.
Also make sure you are reading them all within one day.
Correct.
It’s an all or nothing achievement. You must clear all the propaganda posters within a 24 hour period. It will remain at 0% until the entire achievement is met, then it will go to 100%. If any poster is missed, or time elapses on any of the posters the achievement will not complete.
Note: I believe that the timer is tied to the daily reset, not a true 24 hour time limit. So if the reset happens while you’re working on the achievement, you’ll need to start over.

Which story step is this? In general, changing maps or relogging will restore essential story mail.
PvP yeah sorry.
Had you already completed the monthly prior to the Sept 3 update? (It reset some of the achievements.) Had you completed the PvP monthly? You can only get laurels once, for either the PvE or PvP monthly.
NOTE: Edited to fix my mistake. (I said “WvW” instead of “PvP”.)
(edited by Jeffrey Vaughn.1793)
Did you do the PvP monthly? Keep in mind that laurels are only rewarded once for either the PvE or PvP monthly, you can’t do both for laurels.
What’s the name of the story step? There are 6 different steps in the skritt arc, so without the specific step name I’m unable to look at it.
Options → Graphics → WvW Character Limit and WvW Character Quality
Changes to those will now affect PvE as well.
Clear out your mailbox. It has a limit on how many letters it can hold, and past that it will keep new mail on hold until it has room.
No worries. It’s in another subforum, so I can’t blame you for missing it.
It sounds like you’re still on the lead up steps to the final choice. Before choosing a permanent order, you’re given a series of branching story steps to give you a chance of trying out the different orders. Each branch offers a choice between two order missions.
I removed his ability to use champion level skills (like the Locust Shield) which should make him a lot easier. I don’t have an ETA for when it will appear in an update, but it’s in the queue.
I’ve downgraded the Plaguebringer to a veteran, so that should stop it from using Locust Shield among other abilities. When the champion plaguebringer was upgraded to make it better for open world content, it was assumed to be facing multiple players. I don’t have an ETA for when the change will go live, but it’s in the queue for inclusion in a future update.
From the character select screen, it will show you the info on your home server in the character summary in the lower left corner. You can also click in “World Selection” and it will show you your current home server.
That creature was put there specifically to be avoided. It’s on a long patrol path around the temple, and easy to avoid. In a similar fashion, if you stop to fight a patrolling knight, you’re likely to have another one wander in during the fight, then another, etc. Not every story step is “Destroy every enemy on the map”.
Ah, sorry, I have no idea who the OP is referring to, I was answering the post right above mine.
Any creature with the “Unshakeable” is immune to any type of crowd control as long as they have stacks of “Defiant.” (Each CC that hits them removes 1 stack, if they have 0 stacks, the CC will affect them.)
Previously, NPCs could die and their death would count towards a max number of deaths morale could have. Now, all NPCs health pools count towards “morale”, so if all the health pools are zero at once the event fails.
I’m not sure how it got missed in the patch notes, I know I wrote one. Sorry!
Previously, the event failed after X Pact NPC deaths. This meant that if you revived one of the NPCs, you could actually bring the event closer to failure if the NPC died again, so it was better to leave any dead NPCs behind and never revive them. It’s now based on the current total living Pact members, if they’re all dead at once, the event fails, but reviving the NPCs will cause the morale meter to rise. As long as one Pact NPC is alive, the event keeps running.
I need a lot more info. How many players were in the instance? Was the Eye attacking while invulnerable, or waiting at the center? Was it just “invulnerable” (usually meaning the critter thinks it’s being attacked from a spot it can’t reach) or did it have the “Determined” buff?
I wouldn’t call that a “stealth buff”, it’s just a mistake.
I’ve set the dredge raidmaster to veteran level since it’s intended to be a soloable event, no ETA on when it will go live, but it’s set for a future update.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Cant-change-Traits/2475095
The OP never responded, but the same theory applies to your case.
You need to have spent at least 1 trait point, it sounds like you reset your traits back to 0 already, so it won’t give that option again until you spend at least 1 point. It doesn’t check your gold, but it does check to see if you’ve spent at least 1 trait point before displaying that dialogue option. If you can, post a screenshot of your traits screen.
If you can provide the NPC’s name it would make it a lot easier to track down.
Looking at the screenshot, it appears that your last achievement chest was the 1500 pt chest. The 2k and 2.5k chests are upcoming awards.
Are all the players in the same location (same region/map)? The prompt to enter another player’s story doesn’t appear for players in a different map.
Is it the abomination specifically that’s causing problems? I agree that it could stand to be toned down, I found it hard to avoid its attacks in such a small area (especially with the traps cutting off the hallway.)
EDIT:
I’ve made some minor adjustments to go into a future update. (Though, as always, I can’t give an ETA.)
- Reduced power and health of the abomination a bit
- The friendly ghosts will now kneel, heal after a short while, then re-enter combat if they are defeated (so you don’t have to revive Bragen)
- Cleaned up the team assignments a bit so the friendly NPCs should reliably enter combat with you

Clear out your mailbox. There’s a limit on how many letters it can hold, and it will keep new mail on hold if there isn’t room to deliver them.
What profession are you? Level? What weapon are you using? How does your gear (weapon and armor) compare to your level? When you don’t list what you’re using, but say you can’t change them, it makes it difficult to give pointers.
Thanks for being so polite, even if I wasn’t able to give a satisfactory answer. I’ll definitely make sure the issue is bugged, if it’s not already.
