Most of the time, the issue is that the mailbox is full. If it has too many messages, it will put new mail on hold until it’s cleared out. Clear out all the mailboxes involved.
The champion spawns after you’ve completed the objective to help the quaggan escape, after killing the last attacking group there’s a slight delay as the last of the village evacuates the area, then the story step completes.
I’m 0-2 on reproducing the issue, so there’s something specific I’m not doing correctly to make it break. : |
Good catch, the mad bomber is intended to be a veteran, but had inflated stats. I’ll get a fix in and queue it up for a future update.
I just ran through this story step with no issues, what’s the last type of enemy you encountered? Was Tybalt (or Sieran/Forgal, depending on your Order) dead when you the story seemed to stall out?

Long technical explanation.
Player A chooses “apples” as their favorite fruit. Player B chooses “oranges”.
They do a story step together. At the end, it looks at the instance owner (the person who started the story step) and checks to see what their favorite fruit is to determine what their next story step is. Player B is asked if they want to accept the current story progress, if they do it will put them on the “Apple” step next, because that’s what the instance owner is on. So even though player B prefers oranges, they will be pushed down the apple story.
The game indirectly warns you by displaying what your next story step will be if you accept the story progress, but it’s not obvious.
I can’t tell from the original post exactly what happened, but I do know that this is how the player can get moved to the wrong chain.
Currently, there’s no way to fix this—customer service doesn’t have the ability to set a character on a specific story step.
I really can’t give specific timeframes for bug fixes/etc. because if something comes up that delays it, it makes us look deceptive. : (
A fix is currently in testing, once it’s confirmed and cleared it will go into the next available update.
Sorry, I meant it wasn’t a bug specific to the ghost transformation. I asked an engineer to look into the general transformation issue.
There’s a bug where Risen squires are applying an infinite duration cripple with their leap attack. I don’t have an ETA for when a fix will hit Live, sorry!
She’s comparable to a veteran, but she’s one of the first “minibosses” you encounter in the story, so I think she catches players off guard. The usual advice applies—make sure your gear is up to par, and focus on defensive abilities/traits, since just trying to burn down a veteran is not always the best course.
Have you played any of the story steps with another player? There’s a known “bug” (in quotes because it works as designed, but it’s not terribly clear) where if you accept the story progress of another player, it will replace your fear choice with theirs.
The bug isn’t related to the dungeon, all transforms are currently preventing skill switching. We’re currently investigating the issue.
What’s your profession? What weapons are you using? What level are you? What level is your gear? Specifically, which creatures are giving you trouble? I really need more information to be able to look at it.

TL;DR is that we’re investigating this. It was not an intentional change.
The posts above are correct, the entire group of chanters is respawning after a wipe at any point. I’m going to change it so that only the 2 initial chanters will respawn on a wipe, and the larger group will spawn once the first 2 are killed. (As it used to work, except that the 2 chanters will reset after a wipe.)
To clarify, I have a programmer looking at it to see if they accidentally introduced a new bug. I can’t say it’s “By design!”, I was just pointing out that all transforms are exhibiting this behavior.
I can’t go into details, but there were a tiny number of accounts that had false positives for cheating/hacking caused by a bug in the puzzle. We’re fixing that bug (if it hasn’t been fixed already) and reinstating the accounts that were incorrectly banned.

Checkpoints (respawn points) also act as exits, so as the story sets new checkpoints, you’ll see new exits appearing.
The only change I made was making the cultists respawn after a wipe. I didn’t adjust the number of cultists at all.
We’re investigating the issue. It’s been mentioned several times—we simply don’t have the time or manpower to reply to every single post, so lack of a “red” response doesn’t mean that we don’t know about or aren’t looking at the bug.
Have her clear out her inbox. Too many messages (even if they don’t count against the X/10 limit) will prevent new mail from arriving from other players.
There’s a known bug where utility skills can’t be swapped out while transformed. We’re investigating it.
Update: I have a programmer looking at it right now to see if a bug was accidentally introduced to transformations.
What class/gender are you? Can you cite another transformation that doesn’t prevent you from changing utility skills? Only the male/medium armor was changed, and I tried out several other transformations and they all lock my utility skills in place.
We’re looking into this, no changes were made to the encounter that I know of, so it sounds like some unrelated change might have introduced a bug. And as we’ve stated several times, we simply don’t have time or manpower to answer every single post, so it doesn’t mean that we’re ignoring an issue if we don’t reply right away. : )

No changes were made to the heavy armor ghost transform. Being transformed locks your current utility skills in place.
It’s not a bug, all transforms disable skill switching. (Even if they don’t disable the skills.)
Thanks for the bug report, I’ve passed it on to the Creature team, and it should be fixed in a future update. (I don’t have an ETA unfortunately.)
I’m not seeing where it says that, sorry.
The PvP page specifically says you can’t get both monthlies:
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Monthly_PvP
“[O]nly the first completed monthly grants laurels.” (Referring to both PvP and PvE monthlies.)
Champs are unaffected, thankfully.
You only get the laurels once, for doing either the PvP or PvE monthly.
My mistake! I made a tree spirit for the Heart of the Terebinth and must have inadvertently swapped all the normal oakhearts with the spirit version. :P
Is it in an invisble bag?
100 copper = 1 silver. I’m not entirely sure why you think it’s jumping to 1000. (And I assume by “bronze” you mean “copper”, since there is no bronze currency.)
is there another way to contact support
At the top of this web page, click on Support, then “Ask a Question”.
Correct, in chapter 3 you’re given several different story steps to try out different orders. You’ll be asked to make a final decision after the L26 story step.
The X/10 amount doesn’t include some system mails (event announcements, etc.) that will also prevent new messages from arriving. Clear out your mailbox completely, and give the mail system some time to deliver the new messages.
Many of the events listed were added shortly before or after launch to make sure that low level zones could handle a large influx of players. They won’t become active if there aren’t enough players in the area. Over time we’ll look at lowering the scale requirements so they become more common, but GW2 is still in its infancy, so we haven’t adjusted them yet.
It’s a known bug, there’s a fix planned for a future update but I don’t have an ETA at this time.
