It’s not a literal item. There were some issues with players dropping/losing the scabbard, so it was changed to a “virtual item”. Interacting with it so it disappears is enough to allow you to exit.
What exactly is the bug? What’s your current objective?
Interesting, it sounds like the first step didn’t complete. (So he remained “Mysterious Stranger” and the story step wouldn’t complete.) I’ll keep looking at into it, I’m glad it finally worked for you.
Have you extinguished all of the fires? Completing that step should spawn the final wave of attackers. I just ran the story step and it completed without any problems.
The checkpoint activates the first time the wind blows, but you must die and retry at the checkpoint. If you bandage yourself back up after falling off and teleporting to the start of the story, you’ll have to run it again. I don’t see how it’s possible to be forced to retry 60 times unless you’re choosing not to allow yourself to die.
I’ve adjusted the camera to a more sane level, but I don’t have an ETA for when the fix will go live. Since it’s mostly a cosmetic bug, it probably won’t out until the May update. (The April update is currently locked down for testing.)
We’re testing a fix now, though I don’t have an ETA for when it will go live. Most likely it will be included with the next monthly update, since that’s when content changes are pushed out.
Heh, yes, L2. Good catch.
You can work together starting at L1. There are numerous splits along the way based on your Order, the minor race you help, your greatest fear, etc. So the earliest you could both have the same story step is in Chapter 4, if you both choose the same order.
The entrance is a green circle in front of the portal, it’s not the portal itself.
TL;DR version: it’s a known bug, since accepting progress of the other player will put you on the same followup story step, even if you wouldn’t normally be on that step. At this time, there’s nothing we can do, sorry. CS does not have the tools to reset your story progress, or change your current story step.
The entrance is in Rata Sum. It’s directing you to exit through the portal so you can go to the story step entrance.

Correct. During the mass battles, or cases where there it’s easy to farm the early part of the story, then relog to do it again, some of the creatures are worth reduced XP/loot to discourage farming.
I just played through this, and didn’t see any of the issues mentioned in this thread. What’s your current objective? None of the pirates have any regeneration, so unless you’re trying to get them stuck on a prop so they’re leashing, I don’t see how they’re “unkillable.”
Logan and Anise are above you. There’s a stairway to your right that leads above to a chamber above the Ministerial sanctum, which is off-limits to outsiders.
To quote myself from another thread…
I hope to boost the scaling for some of the other popular events as well, but the large bosses (like the Behemoth, or the dragons) require art and/or engineering work, and can’t be upgraded with a simple content change. They’re on “the list” but I don’t have an ETA for when we’ll be able to update them, sorry!

I need more info to look at it. There are several escort events on that map, and “it’s bugged” doesn’t tell me what’s going wrong. If you can provide the current objective text, or event name, and where it’s stalling or you’re seeing other bad behavior, that would help me to track down the issue. Thanks!
Was Laranthir alive? He triggers the next step, if he’s downed it won’t proceed until he’s revived and continues on his path.
To allow QA time to test new changes, most (non emergency) content changes go into the next monthly content update. I made the change right after the March update was finalized, so it will be in an update later this month (assuming it passes QA.)
What was the current objective?
Applying any upgrade to an item will soulbind it to you. (There’s a warning when you apply the upgrade.) The display isn’t updating correctly, though.
What’s your end goal? As stated by others above, Customer Support isn’t often a pathway to development. A more typical path for people interested in development is to start in Quality Assurance (testing) and demonstrate that you have solid technical skill and game knowledge. This can often get you started in basic design—usually doing low level “grunt work” that can lead to more advanced design work.
Speaking for myself, I started 20 years ago at “that other MMO company” in technical support, worked on the web site, started doing technical art and design, and eventually was made an official designer. Since then I’ve worked at multiple companies, and eventually moved to Seattle to do design work for Arena.net. So working your way up DOES work, and I don’t have a college degree, but I have been gaming for 30+ years and I’m always willing to tackle whatever tasks come up.
Technically, some NPCs are “defeated” and you can “revive” them. If they’re dead, they’re dead.
There’s no cutscene for the second orb. If it advanced the objective, it opened another door, but you’ll have to look for it.

“We’ve limited rares in mega boss chests to require the player be level 40+ to receive them. This is to keep acquiring rares consistent throughout the game; this will also help close up an exploit with newly created characters. This was accidently left out of the original update notes.”
Are you plugging the holes? They don’t respawn, but a blob of goop will spawn every time you kill an ooze. If you pick it up and drop it, it will despawn after 15s so you can clear up the area a bit. The leaks are the big green geysers, you need to plug each one with a bit of goop.
There’s currently a bug where if you’ve completed the personal story, you won’t get the instance exit marked for you. We’re working on a fix for a future update.
Has anyone tried it since the update on the 26th?
You’re double clicking on her? There’s a known bug with using F to interact, that’s why I’m hoping this workaround works.
There’s another thread on this.

No changes were made to the wurm during this last update that I know of.
But there will be an update in the future.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/events/Giant-Jungle-Worm/1727965
Update: I’ve made a change so the wurm can no longer be killed before the event starts, and increased the max scale of the event so it should be slightly less zergable. It’s in QA’s hands right now for testing, and should be in a future update.
Which server? Can you double-click on her to bring up her conversation?
Cool, I was also going to suggest double clicking on the device. There seems to be a bug with the Interact prompt not appearing in all cases, but double-clicking the item will interact with it.
Which map is this in?
What’s your current objective?
There’s no way for us to undo any choices that you’ve made. Which story step was it? I can at least look at the conversation icons and correct them if necessary.
I just worked on that event today, so I know it still exists. I did fix a bug that would occasionally cause the chain to stall out, so it’s possible that it stalled on your server.
I don’t want to reveal “what goes in the sausage” but there are several variables that affect how often some of the meta-events run. The sole change that was made to this event in this update was increasing the restart time for the event to make it comparable to other “boss” style meta events.
Try switching maps, or logging out/back in.
Take the elevator/teleporter. The story step entrance is on the other side.
The event was set to be on par with other “large” events, it’s less than 2 hours but the first event (the grawl attack) will not restart if another event in the chain is still running. So the worst case I can think of is that when the grawl attack recycled it saw that another event in the chain was running, and started the timer again.
The final boss event is at the end of a 4 event chain, so when you say “it hasn’t started” it might simply mean that one of the earlier events hasn’t been completed yet. Camping at the final boss location and waiting for the event to start won’t do anything unless other players are running the other events.
Sorry about that, I forgot it in the update notes, but the adjustment to the nobles at the start should be on Live.
Aha, I might have it… Don’t talk to any NPCs unless you’re directed to do so. I think talking to Trahearne is interrupting him, so he’s not playing out all of his lines to reveal the risen (and they’re not appearing.)
