Characters in LA, heart of the mists and the Mad kings lab all crash the client.
Only had one character in DR I could access. However Once in the game it seems to let me load the other characters after.
Same here, can’t get past character selection. Once i select one the game crashes.

Same, logs to the character screen but then can’t load the client.
The biggest problem I have with it is that this is a sign that this will FOREVER be the standard.
GW2 will always be about instant gratifiaction. It makes me worried about raids.
The best solution would have been to restructure the training steps to give you all the utility skills first, the traits. I think that would have stopped a lot of complaints. It would also fix the problem Heralds had where they didn’t have alternative skills to use
This is a good idea!
I don’t have the expansion but I know you don’t have to be in a formal group? Just need to wait for other players or ask on map chat? Are there really no other players around already to play alongside or ask for help? In the core game people often do hp even if they have already got them just to help out.

Don’t you only need 60HP to start using the new weapons etc? and its 400 to unlock everything, and challenges in the jungle if you 10 each?

But the teleport skill should let you avoid death no matter what, or have a minimum range then
They should at least update us before HOT is released about if, when this will be fixed.
When using the thief downed skill to teleport in PVP its not working correctly, as sometimes you teleport, when someone is in the middle of stomping but then still get killed.
It seems to happen if you only teleport a short distance, as its not interrupting their stomp.
Add the dailys to the daily timer display on the login screen.
Would be good to know the best character to pick from at login.
Will supporting events, and fights with heal skills, get you gold rewards?
Normally in events it’s when you do enough DPS that you get the highest rank, so have they reworked it so reviving, and healing count just as much?
There should be more rewards. it should be 20 blooms for 5 + stacks,
A comment in chat summed up everything wrong with the event nicely.
A player told the rest of the map to tag events and run, and then said completing events doesn’t matter, they will complete themselves on there own, and stacks are more important.
The average player seems to be just about managing 10 stacks, unless they do tag and run.
Yes still want the animations back, they said it was a bug…so let’s get it fixed.
I wander into this thread knowing that most of what I’m going to say has probably already been said by others, but it never hurts to echo good points.
- THE EVENTS -
- The waiting | I get having to wait around for 30 minutes in between the invasions, but the one and a half hour wait before the new invasions start is excessive and unnecessarily slows down the events even more. I feel like I continually have to plan for these events to arrive while having too little time in between to do anything else due to their relative infrequency and the need to farm them due to the current rewards structure. In addition to this, the relatively long waiting times can be confusing for players dropping in on the map to see what is going on during the waiting periods. When the “Strange Activity” message appears in the meta-event message, it might help to add a countdown timer, for example: “The Priory is investigating the disturbances: 30:00 left”.
- The locations | While I like the idea of the Mordrem popping up all over the map at random, some of the current spawn locations are poorly chosen and there is little to no “flow” to the events. Some of the incursions overlap directly with old events, which can be confusing and chaotic at times. The old events should be turned off during the invasions or the incursions should be moved away from them. The biggest problem here is that due to the random nature of the spawn order, there is no real flow to the event in general. Instead of moving from event to event naturally or via a general route, players have to frantically scour the world map looking for a waypoint close to an event. This scatters players instead of bringing them together. Looking at the Season 2 story, you could’ve justified shutting down certain waypoints during the invasions by saying it’s the Mordrem messing with Ley Lines. This might not be friendly to players trying to just explore the map during the invasions, but it would’ve added some story to the events and prevented some of the waypoint-a-palooza. Still, the core problem here is the randomized spawn order and some specific spawn locations, and shutting down the waypoints wouldn’t fix those.
- Event scaling | The events scale very poorly with increasing amounts of players. Mobs die nearly instantly and the Shield Bloom Spawner dies much too quickly when players swarm in, especially compared to the other two Spawners, where the amount of players hardly influences the time needed to complete the event due to the sources of damage being tied to limited resources that don’t increase when the number of players increases. If you do not have a ranged weapon or movement speed buffs, this can often make it hard to actually participate in the events.
- No endgame | So you run around the map repeating the same event over and over and then… it’s over I guess? Where’s the endgame? I feel like this event is sorely lacking a second, ‘final’ stage. Just to throw something out there: Have a Silverwastes Mordrem Champion ( Hey, there’s three of them! There’s also three invasion maps! ) show up in the middle of the map for all the players to rally against. To get to the boss, players would have to defeat three Spawners ( the three different events ) around it first. Have the boss drop a World Boss chest with loot and additional Blooms in it based on the total defeated incursions, et voila: you have given players something to work towards.
- THE REWARDS -
MAIN RECURRING POINT HERE: Get rid of the horrible buff stack system. No idea how you could think it was a good idea: it pushes people to just tag & run and disconnects the rewards from the events.
- What you get | For completing these events we get one reward and one reward only: Mordrem Blooms to buy stuff with. There is no loot, xp or karma from killing mobs or completing events, just the Blooms at the end. This makes the events feel very unrewarding. Completing a 30-minute invasion with 10 stacks of the buff through normal play gets you 10 Blooms and nothing else. This is very disheartening when you are just trying to get the one 450 Bloom potion. The amount of time one needs to invest in these repetitive events to just get one of the more expensive rewards is completely unrealistic and is made worse by how completely unrewarding they are besides the Bloom currency. The daily chests per map go some way to alleviating this, but it is just far too little and far too late. Why don’t we get anything for killing the mobs? Or for getting Gold medals on the incursions? Why do we get so dreadfully few Blooms and why don’t we get anything besides the Blooms to make up for the massive time investment? Just as an example, having the Spawners drop some loot ( even just a single Champion Bag ) upon defeat would help very much in making the event feel more rewarding.
- How you get them | You get Mordrem Blooms by stacking a buff you get for defeating incursions during the invasion. You get one stack of the buff for going to an event and killing some mobs, no matter your actual contribution to the event or whether you stick around to finish it. This means you can just waypoint to an event, kill some mobs, then leave before the event is even halfway finished to do the same at another event and still get the stacks. Because these stacks are the only thing that matters for the rewards you get, it creates and encourages a tag & run playstyle that is toxic to the overall event. Instead of finishing events, people just go around tagging them to build stacks, then go AFK once they have enough stacks. Because of the way the rewards are set up ( 0 Blooms for < 5 stacks, 5 Blooms for < 10 stacks, 10 for < 20 Stacks and 15 for 20+ ) this also affects people actually finishing the events: when I get to 10 stacks, there is no reason for me to keep doing events, as I won’t get to 20 stacks through normal play, so doing more doesn’t get me anything. This whole stack system is puzzling to me. Instead of trying to fix the stack system, just get rid of it and reward people for completing events ( perhaps even based on medal quality per event ) and total map performance to encourage players to band together.
- When you get them | Currently, you only get a reward at the end of the 30 minute timer. This creates a disconnect between the rewards and the event: I can get some stacks of the reward buff, then AFK for 15 minutes and get my reward. The reward feels like an afterthought, it doesn’t feel like I am getting rewards for doing the event: it feels like “Oh sorry, I wasn’t paying attention. You did some events? Here’s a reward I guess… Now move on to the other map please.”. I want to be rewarded while doing the events, not when I’ve already done twelve. Get rid of the buff stack nonsense and give players Blooms the moment they defeat an incursion. Note that this would also fix the ‘Disconnect = no reward’ issue.
- Beyond this event | I’d like to know if Mordrem Blooms will be a recurring currency. Will there be other events giving them out in the future? Will there be new vendors and items if that happens? Is this a one-time thing for this single event, forcing me to spend them on whatever I can get if I don’t get enough for what I actually want? Would be nice to have some clarity here.
Sums up everything nicely. I do think events should be random and can pop up anywhere so players don’t learn a pattern. But the toxic events in kessex hills should have been got rid of especially.
The tap-and-run strategy needs to die in a fire. Specially “You may only be progressing 1 site of a mega-event at a time – if you log advancement at a new site before the first one is complete you lose your credit towards the first event.” Make people finish what they start or at least wait until it’s finished to start the next one. You could still partially game the system by leaving a little early, but you’d have to carefully wait to start bashing the next group until the first has completed.
The stack disappearing if you disconnect (or change maps to the same zone!) is ridiculously punitive. Who thought that was a good idea?
This is good, but maybe not loose all your progress but have a limited reward, or bonus for still being in the event area on completion.
Players should be tracked on each invasion/event.
The players getting the highest stacks are the most selfish players, who run between each event only staying a minute or so then going to the next one. This sometimes leaves some events taking a long time to complete penilising players who stay at each event until completion.
The game should reward players who are at events until completion, not those tagging and running between events to get stacks faster.
The only reason players do that in the first place is due to the higher reward… if players weren’t penalized for staying at events until completion they wouldn’t HAVE to play guerrilla tagfare
Yes but they are penalized as completing events takes time, so its not fair to alot of players or how the game is meant to be played, by working together.
A map wide bonus on total invasions defeated would have been helpful.

Why are players not tracked? Some players stay per event for a couple of mins then go. Leaving some invasions taking a long time to complete, leaving players less time to get max stacks.
The players getting the highest stacks are the most selfish players, when it should be the opposite.
The invasion so far is too easy, creatures die way too fast, making it hardly feel like an invasion, it’s hard to make it in time to actually hit enough sometimes.
I joined for the last 20 minutes of the last invasion event, and got gold reward on all events i did, and 1 silver but got bronze reward over all, so I never actually got any loot at all during that time so the reward system is not fair either it seems as its not translating your rewards properly based on your event rewards.
I think he meant Laurels :P, and I’m sure for many people the new dailies opened up new area’s of the game, I only tried SPVP and Factorals to try for the dailies now I do both as well as PVE. The daily factoral is a nice one to try sometime, and like others have said if your lucky you can do the PVP ones in 1 match, as well as having fun.
I’m going to share my secrets for doing easy dailies, even though I detest spvp with a passion I have come to realize that is the best place to do them, first of all go to a daily custom game, people there are very helpful, and can help you with the tough ones (like daily defender, or killer, skyhammer is good for the latter)
Also, do not, I repeat, do NOT consume the pvp reward track potions, save them up, and use them ONLY when there is pvp reward track as a daily, you usually use 1-2 and the reward gives you a potion back, so for those days you can usually use a potion and do 2 easy pve dailies.
It sucks that the new daily format made pvp ones much more easier than the pve ones, oh wells, adapt and evolve I guess (I’m hoping they actually add more diverse pve dailies, since they are way too restrictive atm)
Maybe avoid doing the custom arena’s, while not considered an exploit by ANET its still practically cheating your way through the dailies. Do a normal game for more of a challenge. Hardly fun just killing someone who just stands there.
I’m sure some people will open the gate for free, no need to pay.
I’ll respond as I did on reddit:
If I never saw another game again with the trinity, it would be too soon. Just imagine how much fun Lord of the Rings would have been if all foes only attacked Boromir, while Gandalf stayed back and healed him and the hobbits, Aragorn, Legolas and Gimli all dealt damage in relative safety.
You may believe, truly believe, that the trinity makes for a good game. But it’s contrived to the point where it removes everything that makes role-playing games great.I don’t usually reply on general discussion forums because I don’t have time reading through 500 pages, but your reply is so totally wrong. It clearly shows that you have not played any serious MMO in it’s heyday if you think that healing the tank is the only tactic needed.
Maybe you have the impression that MMOs were always like how WoW or LOTRO is today, where they made everything so facerolling easy, all you need is a tank to run through pull the whole instance and stand in a corner AoE everything down…
Trinity, or better, roles is what makes a role playing game great. In serious MMOs for lets say a 12 man raid, you needed 1 tank, 1 off tank, 1 healer for the group, 1 healer for just the tanks, 2 support classes (1 buffer 1 debuffer), 2 ranged dps and 4 melee dps. Everyone of course needs to know exactly what he’s doing or the whole group will wipe because of 1 person. This is what makes a game great. It gives you the actual satisfaction that you acomplished something, and not just facerolled another instance.
What we have at the moment on GW2 is not actual content. 99% of the instances are like: Skip 80% of the mobs, and the ones that can’t be skipped, you pull to a corner and AoE them down. It requires zero skill, zero effort and zero team co-ordination.
Atm GW2 is basically a game that requires no tactic or thinking, and all you have to do is just barely know the current meta. If you do know it, you can faceroll every single instance or encounter while being semi-afk playing with 1 hand. If you want this to continue because you’re too lazy actually playing a challenging game, that’s fine, but please don’t say trinity is what makes a role playing boring…
Skipping 80% of the mobs is a choice people are choosing to make. I would rather see more people using different builds to clear the mobs, and do slower runs. But I also like being able to play solo, and not wait for the right team mate to complete a level. And you don’t need different rolls to make a team, you can choose different skills and gear to complement each other without class divides.
I’ll just add a little clarification just in case, because I have noticed that some people do not know what SMS is.
SMS is the very basic text message that is a basic function in every mobile phone.
True but apparently not all players want to have a mobile phone.
Only if it was after the dungeon was completed, like how it works in PVP now.
Like the top stats thing.
Not through the dungeon though, its hard enough finding decent parties sometimes.
Game froze in PVP today, never happened to me before, opened task manager and client was not responding, logged right back in and re-joined the match though.

I’m sure they will be added by release, and no they won’t remove underwater combat. It was after all a major point of the core game.
Same error, being reported in chat a lot. Tried restarting the game but no change.
Both ranked and unranked are affected.
Still high ping!

I am sure ANet was anticipating the obvious outcry Blizzard had when they announced their plan.
But if you already had the base game of WOW you could just buy the expansion on its own yes? So the cost would be less for those who already had it.
The problem is the base game is still selling for nearly £20 / $40 in many places, so there should be a reduced price version for people who have the base game already.
They have offered refunds going back a month but you have to return your account if you claim this.

I don’t get the Veteran entitlement position.
For many there is no entitlement. Its the fact you have to re-buy the base game with the expansion, when the base game still sells for $39.99
Still very slow for me to. Everything else online seems fine, the game itself has been laggy as well.
People are not wanting something for nothing, they are upset at having to buy the base game again, which is currently selling for £20, when they already have it. So the expansion should be able to be bought stand alone, minus the current cost of the base game.

The core game still costs nearly £20 from amazon, so we should be able to buy the expansion without the core game.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Guild-Wars-Standard-Edition-DVD/dp/B007YZ5B0I
People with the base game should be able to buy the expansion for £20 less.

But why does it have to include the core game, there should be a version without the core game which is minus the current cost of the core game for current players.
If they removed the core game from the pre purchase for those who had it then surley they could make it cheaper.
You seem to be one of many, others have reported issues to.
Since you have to type in the exact name of the character, how can it be accidental?
Yes very spiky here. Ping has been going from 24 to over 900 sometimes, especially one zoning and loading new areas.
A quick ping test put my connection at 23ms rating of very good.

Yes there should be challenging content, and both gamers and developers should remember that casual does not equal easy, and that challenging doesn’t have to be long drawn out fights or missions.
Its possible to play casual and still do hard content, and its possible to have hard fights that are not artificially lengthened with a super high health pool or unavoidable attacks or scripted events!
