Well Kaineng just took SMC from Yak’s…oops!

The armistice doesn’t kick in until Sunday anyways, if Yak’s accept. No rules has been broken.

That’s good. Since we all know every player from Kaineng and Yak’s reads these threads, I’m sure this 2v1 will go well.

You don’t need to worry about us. Worry about yourself.

We really want to sent Maguuma off with a nice & memorable goodbye gift. We hope Yak’s is feeling the same.

We played popcorn, let a member lead us to Garrison. We sneakily broke down doors, and through the confusion of a very special moment I shared with this what I assume is a necromancer, a mesmer slipped in, and ported us in 45 minutes later.

He’s a patient man.

Apparently, the devs are absolutely riveted with Kaineng’s evolution and decided to pair us with rank 1 and rank 3 servers in next week’s matchup.

Although it’s an ego boost to all Kaineng WvWers that we are deemed good enough for T1 ( sorry bears, no honey for u ) , it might be too soon for our re-established forces.

Commanders need to get together to discuss their thoughts on how to go through next week.

(a) Should we have a break week to revitalise and ignore a super-unbalanced matchup ?

(b) Should we just run academy / training sessions in our citadel and ignore all scores ?

© Grit our teeth and go for numerous 4 hour battles and hopeful learn more tactics but come out sore and tired ?

(d) Sell our services as mercenary forces to either the rank 1 or rank 3 to fill up our server war fund ?

The new matchups will eradicate the meaning of Tiers and matchups will depend on server score plus deviation. The new way to measure success in WvW will be server ranking which is still based on score. After next week matchup, Kaineng’s score will probably decrease which will drop us in server ranking ( Kaineng is 8th now) but I am not sure how deviation will go. Kaineng has an abnormally high deviation due to guilds transferring away a month ago, which means old ghosts coming back to haunt us again. We are in for interesting times folks.

P.S. This potential matchup might change with results from this week but Kaineng’s deviation score is so abnormal we are probably gonna be dumped with 2 other high ranked servers.

Periodic events within the structure.

Build a siege weapon, a reminder event to refresh the timer.
Start upgrades, Retrieve supply from outside of the structure should give a bonus.

Allow players to help with some keep upgrades etc.
Allow players to drop 50% of carried supply into the structure for upgrade use, and earn Wxp for quantity dropped.

There’s room for improvement. Obviously these ideas aren’t perfect, but It’s something for those on guard duty.

Score update. Our Oceanic crew often erase a 4,000 point deficit over night. Yesterday they must have worked extra hard and almost erased an 7,000 point deficit between Kaineng and Yak’s. Its very close now.

If only we can get our players more organized, and get a few more NA & EU players here, we can cause some serious damage.

I also got a message for Yak’s. How do you guys feel about a general server merge? You guys have a great NA presence, but lacks Oceanic. We have a great Oceanic presence, but lacks NA. If we combine we will become one single great server. We enjoyed how nice you guys are on the forums, so I think we will get along just fine.

Yeah, we’ve pretty much had all the same people/guilds since launch. It’s very stable. Nobody leaves, it’s just that we haven’t been able to attract Oceanics here.

The real question, is do you want it? Transfers are a slippery slope.

My only experience with RAM is the few times I’ve faced them in open field. They run a little PVT heavy for their own good at times, and I’ve found don’t do too much damage.

But it’s been a week or two since I’ve last seen them run as a guild. Still, they acted as a powerful front line for the glassier pubbies at times, so it works out in general wub play.

Yaks is getting better but the Mag alliance can put larger zergs on the field and appears to have better communication and inter-guild organization. Many times we’ve tried to ninja keeps and a Mag zerg 60-80 strong (depending on the time) has slammed into us. I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re able to have at least 40 man guild zergs on all the maps, Yaks can only place 40+ zergs on 2 maps at a time without stretching thin and even with population the server alliance isn’t as developed.

I’m not sure what has happened to Kain they seem to be lacking population in crucial timezones while having a surplus of people at timezones when nobody is on.

Eternal is the only consistent one. Otherwise when we see someone trying to take something with numbers, we call in for help on mumble, and usually the other borderlands rally people to it.

Are you using this for PVP or PVE? I know personally I swapped to healing turret, for sustained regeneration, and large healing through overcharge detonate waterfield blast finisher. I also took Protection injections for more reliable Protection when needed.

T3 currently has both mega blobs, and small groups. No server in T3 has the coverage to megablob every map, so it’s usually one at a time.

in this game the Server “rank” just shows how well the coverage is for that server not the skill of the players in that server.

putting in crazy hours is just going to burn people out. We may have the heart to want to be better, but we no longer have the coverage. Guilds putting in unreasonable hours will just end in more transfers.

You guys just need to get it out of your heads, that higher tier = better server. If you guys play extremely well, your names will get out there. You don’t need to have 100% coverage and fight in tier 1.

i’m extreemily new to WvW – i do hope someone can help me out, i’m on YAKS bend – so i understand if you’re from green / blue you won’t want to help / give the more incorrect advise, however being so new to WvW i’ve picked up a bit. in a way basically -find the blue arrow and follow it get wiped do it all over again-

Revert Elixir-S, or balance 'Endure Pain'

Don’t forget distortion. Mesmer, Arenanet’s favorite didn’t get this nerf of course.

Distortion is on a 60-second cooldown (~45 with 30 points in a trait line), requires at least one clone to trigger at all if you’re not traited for IP (30 point cost) and lasts for a maximum of four seconds, during which time all clones are shattered solely for the distortion effect. It also does not break stun or prevent condi damage (it does prevent incoming stuns, though).

Elixir S always lasts for three seconds, acts as a stun-breaker, can be traited for 10 points in Elixirs to work on a 48-second cooldown and the immunity works the same as for Distortion or Endure Pain. It now prevents one from using #6/util skills.

The two are not miles apart and cater to different play styles. Elixir S has a better immediate payoff and is more consistent, but comes at the cost of a slightly less potent invuln and a temporary skill lock. Distortion requires more sacrifice from the player and has a lower basic effect, with a higher potential performance cap (an extra second over Elixir S when traited for IP; no skill lock).

Let’s not forget that distortion can be traited to refresh when you hit 50% health, and be refreshed manually with a signet. I personally have never had a shortage of clones when running a shatter build, so it’s not much sacrifice, it’s just used to reduce incoming damage until your next burst rotation is ready.
