I’d rather they fixed some bugs and made the class competitive instead of mess around with some animations.
It’s funny how really old games had no issues with capes (example : DaoC) yet the latest games suck balls with them.
I think all Engineers are abit jaded right now, which is a shame, bugs have been broken for months without any word, no response from Anet about class crippeling bugs that happened this patch, which are well documented and easily reproduced (like the video i showed in my post above) and still nothing, they(ANet) should stop the favoritism thing or simply delete the classes they are not interested in.

The worst part is that this has been bugged since the patch’s release yet no word from anyone, whereas other classes immediatly got fixed, it’s abit of a kicker to see how we are getting ignored because we lack a “loudmouth majority”.
And this is not the only one, all the turret traits are broken, metal plating and auto repair, but this one was easiest to reproduce.

Rifled Turret Barrels is horribly broken, i decided to make a small video about it to show it does not apply the 15% extra damage.
First Test : Rifle Turret
532 damage without Rifled Turret Barrel Trait
532 with Rifled Turret Barrel Trait
Second Test : Rocket Turret
887 damage + 328 dott without Rifled Turret Barrel Trait
887 damage + 328 dott with Rifled Turret Barrel Trait
Third Test : Flame Turret
142 damage + 328 dott without Rifled Turret Barrel Trait
142 damage + 328 dott with Rifled Turret Barrel Trait

Conclusion, Rifled Turret Barrel Trait does not apply the 15% damage bonus.
This test was done on a naked Character, only had the standard pvp pistol to create aggro, talent spec was : 30 points in Inventions.
On tests without i put in 30 in inventions but did not choose a trait.
On tests with Rifled Turret Barrels i put in 30 in Inventions and chose the Trait.
Hope this is sufficient proof that the Trait is broken.

I’d like to see this fixed as fast as other class crippeling bugs.
Those get fixed overnight in a hotfix, and this thusfar has been broken since the patch.

Honestly, i dont mind if people linked this thread and or my video in other areas where its applicable, PvE forum, sPvP forum, WvWvW forum etc, seems to all be affected by this, gutting our spec choices tremendously, rightnow turrets are no use, unless you specifically want to trait it for your supply drop.

Seriously has all my threads been unoticed, people keep repeating those or speak about turret viability right now in PVE without even taking the Invention broken trait list into consideration. I have already posted this issue the day the patch came out, even edited the wiki and I explained in multiple threads that three of our main turret traits were not working on the following utilities, including :
- Metal Plating (III)
- Autotool Installation (X)
- Rifled Turret Barrel (XII)And by the way JoxerNL, you are partialy wrong it does work, but only for our Turrets coming out of our supply crate. Want a proof? Check my supply crate Rifle Turret with Elite Supply trait and Rifled Turret Barrels deal more damage than my regular Rifle Turret utility.
Ambre your initial post actually was the one that made me go and actually test it for myself.
Since yours lacked visual proof, i decided to use my setup to create this video where i provide visual proof to show that indeed the trait is horribly broken.
It’s easier to watch a video for a dev then just having to go off of a picture or simply text. (in other words, there is no kittenfooting around here, the video is blunt and clear as day showing what is wrong.)
What about the PvE dummies in LA? Haven’t some traits not worked in pvp & worked in pve, and “vice versa”?
I’m curious cause I have debated about this trait at times for farming events/spots in Orr.

Just did a small test, same problem on the targets in LA.
So i think it’s safe to say the trait is universally broken.
I’ll see about making a video tomorow where i’ll test the trait in LA, so people have a visual confirmation that this trait is broken there aswell.
And people still blindly thank the devs for a job well done. Nevermind that we have traits that don’t work because they don’t test anything. They are devs so they are by default smarter than the lot of us.

It’s why i actually made a video, now no one can refute the point that the trait is not giving the 15% damage, it shows it clear as day in the video, with and without traits, i took out the extra factors of gear and stats etc by going completely naked.

I thought about doing that. The bug doesn’t occur in sPvP though, and that’s why it hasn’t already been addressed, of course.
Oh i know, but it seems lately all the devs look at is the sPvP forum, completely ignoring certain class forums, which is a shame, doesn’t take alot to lurk around a little and make sure there’s no game breaking bugs around, but i guess they really want their e-sports eh?

Adjusted ranger pet AI when fighting enemies in PvE. Melee pets now attempt to move behind enemies as long as they are not actively being targeted by the creature.
So i guess, not all pets have the same AI eh?

Everybody know that minions/pets have AI problems, in upcomming patch they have improved it a bit (don’t get your hopes to high).
This is the reason why so many necros is pvp using them.
Didn’t they specifically said the AI fixes during their Ranger talk?
Didn’t hear any mention this also counted for Necro Minions.
In stead, the Thief and Warrior can steal boons on attacks.
Warrior doesn’t steal boons on their attacks.
Warrior can get a trait that will enable them to do 3% more damage per unique boon upon their target.
Hey, I know you want acknowledgement from the devs, but from personal experience, just stop. Threads like these are exactly what prevents them from commenting in the first place, because they know when any mis-conveyed, written, or read information is usually going to result in negative feedback and used against them.

Since on Whiteside Ridge the events are currently stuck at reclaiming Penitent Camp, we apparently need to ressurect “Engineer Otto” who is nowhere to be found, hence, the whole of Orr is stuck at this position.
And people are just happily farming the wave upon wave of mobs that now keep spawning every 20 seconds. (Exploiting much?)
Im talking about 20 mobs spawning every 20-30 seconds which die within 5-10 seconds due to the amount of people farming them because of this Engineer Otto missing.
Hey i logged in just now, and for some reason i noticed my healing turret being what almost seems twice the size of what it normally was, i can actually hide inside it (human), asked a friend and they had the same thing (Sylvari engy).
Did the sizes change at some point and i completely missed it, or is there a bug floating about?
yeah the Big Boss mobs are abit of a joke, they die too quick, way way too quick, hell iw as at a jungle wurm event yesterday, he died within a few mere seconds, i was happy i got 1 hit in!

try taking off your Clydesdale blinders and you will see that there are countless scenarios that don’t involve you standing still at max range like a kitten charr hoping to kill people before they notice your projectiles.
try engaging your opponents .. the engie is not a “ranged” class, it has weapons and skills with some range.
PS: The AI which your turrets lack is yours.
Your comparing playing “just tournaments” with the whole game, who’s wearing the blinders now?
