I dont know these days, they finally seemed to acknowledge necro down state, but havent given a word yet about all our turrets being more or less broken at the higher levels due to the traits not working, it’s frustrating, to say the least.
Any server has this open on the EU?
Flame thrower till 40, Bomb kit till 60, Grenade kit + bomb kit till 80, just finished my second engineer this way, worked like a charm.
They wont shoot alot of the “world bosses” either, they just stand there doing nothing, bosses such as Shadow Behemoth and Fire Elemental they just sit there.
just adding my voice to the many, absolutely dispise Trahearne, his character is bland, and that is putting it lightly, introduced way too late.
I cant help myself but [skip] every single time he starts talking, after having it done once, he completely ruins the personal story for me.
I would love it if ANet could see how many times someone [skip]’s a chatline/voiceover, and see which ones are skipped i can only imagine the numbers Trahearne would pull.
Now when i played a Sylvari it seemed abit more “alright”, how he gets introduced, you have mett him afterall before, any other race however.. your more inclined to go “who is this wimp?”
As voiced earlier in this thread, i would have been fine with Destiny’s Edge leading the pact, but not Trahearne.

-Necros can wield dual daggers for a permanent speed boost…
We have speedy kits (which works for every kit, not just the medkit) and gives/has the potential to give us infinite swiftness. We get a boon, which grants a 33% speed boost, vs the necro’s permanent 25% speed boost.
You forgot “Power Shoes” in Invention
If you dont like kits, elixirs, rifles and think the turrets are weak, the profession might not be for you, if your liking pistols however why not try a dual pistol thief or something?
Nice post from those Devs Brko, all it takes is a small message on the forums saying “Hey we know of these bugs and are working on them”.
Modify the title with [Bug] in front of it. It makes it more visible to the developers.

Land mine has never really impressed me. Since you’ve invested heavily in HGH, I would add another elixir in it’s place.
And I would also switch out the Goggles for an elixir for the same reason. Too much Cool Down for too little increase in the chance that you might Crit. Your Critical Damage is only 11%, so your not doing much damage on Crits on what little Crits you land.
If he’d do that he might aswell switch the Explosive line to Firearms, definatly gets more bang for his buck.
Which OP : isn’t a bad thing, i think if you go -that- deep down explosives you should at least use something -other- then landmine, which is really mediocre all round.
So i’d say either use some explosive kit, either grenades or bombs or go down the Firearms tree.
Also dual pistol, little overrated, the control a shield brings imho outweighs the weak flame and glueshot from the offhand pistol, but that’s prefferance

Im currently leveling my third engineer (I know im nuts) and loving every minute of it.
I suggest that you ignore the various bugs and try to avoid them if possible by simply skipping the skills or not using the ability etc.
The kits are really strong in conjunction with the Healing turret in PvE, so definatly worth a try!
Even the HGH builds are pretty awesome, be they Flamethrower/Grenadier or Pistoleer.
Turret traits need to be fixed, turrets need a damage boost, need to ignore AoE damage, and lastly have their Hitboxes fixed.
But i dont think this will be feasible anytime this year or the next.
Another day, another chance for the devs to acknowledge our turrets to be bugged beyond belief.

There was another patchnote, but no hotfix for our turrets. Comeone devs we need that fix, or at least your awareness about this issue, our turrets Engineers have been unplayable for about 8 days now!
I wonder if that guy at the costumer service even tried to send my pictures and the informations about the broken traits to the devs…
I know the feeling, would be nice if the devs gave some acknowledgement after seeing the work we put in to put out these bugs clear and constructively, instead we are being stone walled, i doubt these days they even care.
Let’s first see if they will -ever- fix the hitboxes which are still completely off the charts, the size of two chars or something like that.
I’m convinced ANet doesn’t even recognize Engineer as a class and instead just are letting it fail like it should have from never being fully complete.
Looking at their interactions and how fast they are fixing other class mechanics that broke because of their patch… i can only but agree, said it elsewhere before : Feels like the devs simply dont care about the Engineer.
I doubt Scope was not reported using the bug report mechanisms. They still didn’t know that was actually broken, instead insisting that it just sucked. Seems like they just don’t read these boards, and it even shows in the way they’re moderated.
They read some of the boards, as is evident from looking at -other- class forums, it just feels like the devs simply dont care.
Would be nice if we heard something from the devs, they seem to be quite awake “in other forums”.
alot of our traits are broken, i cant help but wonder how -many- exactly are broken at the moment.

Well if they would actually fix our turret traits that would be +25% damage total, not bad i guess

I love my Engineer in Dungeons, especially FotM. I have all 8 professions and my Engi has an awful lot going for it relative to a lot of the other classes. I will openly admit it takes a bit more knowledge of the class to get everything it can do out of it, but once you know the class inside and out, it’s good. High single target and AOE DPS (since it can stack 25 vulnerability fast) Able to Rez people from under mobs feet, and heal better than a lot of classes while DPS specced. Not to mention the ability to stealth a group for 12+ secs when needed, buff they entire team with a decent number of stacks of might, put up walls of Smoke/Reflection to fill in gaps if you only have 1 Guardian.
It’s a very capable dungeon runner in the hands of the right player.
(It can also survive the Maws agony at 48 if used right, and probably bring a few mates along with it.)

Engineers have the most broken skills.
For instance our turret lines traits are all broken currently, completely decimating any sort of variety we had.
I’m not sure why none of the turret traits are being changed, since the devs are fully aware that turrets need major help and have practically devoted the last two patches to buffing specific turrets (while nerfing some other stuff…)
Not asking for the turret traits to be changed, just “fixed” so they actually work again would be a big step in the right direction, as it is now, one of our class defining skills is useless, not working properly, since we cant use the turret traits.
I cant help but wonder how fast mesmer clones or ranger traps or guardian shouts or virtues would be fixed after they broke because of a patch.

Normal turrets don’t heal since the patch, only the ones in the Supply Crate do.
It looks like all talents work on the supply crate turrets, but our -normal- turrets are not, i think they changed something so they are flagged as different entities or something.

I have a motto: anything that doesn’t work is, by default, bad. No matter how innovative the design of something is, how novel the idea behind it, how much money went into it, etc. If it doesn’t work, it is bad.
I do wish more resources were put into bugfixing than what are currently. I can’t use my engineer in sPVP anymore because none of the turret traits work.
It’s been broken since the patch and been ignored completely, whenever something else broke after the patch from other classes it was hotfixed the day after, this is just kitten poor from ANet imho.

The analogy made earlier is perfect, like a Ranger without pets, or a Guardian without Virtues, we are missing one of our main mechanics, and all ANet is doing is sticking its head in the sand trying to ignore it as if its going to go away eventually.
I also noticed the size of turrets seem different or was that an optical illusion?
It’s sad the Turrets are in such a sad state, i actually am leveling my 3rd Engineer, and this time round i wanted to do the routine of going Explosion/Invention, but having the turrets is making things alot harder on me, as if im being punished for having my turrets out.
How are they broken? “Laughably useless” is an opinion and you state no backing for said opinion. I’m saying there isn’t something wrong, just that saying “it’s broke” over and over doesn’t help.
Check out the second post in this thread, made by me, it’s a video that shows the only one that is easy to test, namely the Rifled Turret Barrels, it does not work at all, tested it on all turrets with and without the trait, naked characted that only has the pvp gun.
So there is plenty of backing there, hell there is even someone on the Engineer forums who made a video about the hitboxes being abnormally large, which contributes why they die so fast in zerg fights.

Had to watch it twice before i noticed it, halfway in all 3 turrets were hit while the mobs aoe was out of range from all 3, that’s a very large hitbox issue right there.
You seemed to have completely ignored the second part of my post, which is acknowledgement.
