If you go into wvw as an uplevel and die. It’s your fault.
If you’re upleveled and run with me, you better not die and rally the 20 enemy we just downed or I am going to yell at you.
Oh you know when you’re better in open field. You know.
On another note this week has had 6 relatively close match ups from last weeks 2.
Only 2 match ups HoD and TC are totally dominating.
New system starting to stabilize? Let’s see.
Ranking isn’t that important. Winning the match you are in per week is.
I say this because the way the new system works.
If BP gets placed next week with 2 servers much much higher rank than them, it is possible to go up ranks even without doing anything.
Kinda like SBI on the first week this started. (although we did fight and learn from our opponents, that was actually viewed as one of the best matches we have had in terms of higher skilled battles)
The times I have been on EB, I don’t see anything fantastic about our open field fighting. I remember having to introduce veils and frontline mentality, to shift the mindset from using noob portal bombs.
I hope that has changed. I hope people are using rotations now on EB. I hope you have better battlefield maneuvers with dual commander. I hope that the Zerg is able to swiftness each other to keep the line tighter. I won’t say ball because we are not at Zerg ball level yet.
Has it changed? How has the open field on EB evolved? Pls post on SBI forums, I would like to know.
I care about winning. Jic does too. Wraith, Krash etc. I could go on.
Thing is we see so much noobness if we try to correct it all, we’d all go bald. (no offense to bald guys)
We try to help in ways we can but our patience has limits too and sadly a lot of it has been reached, so they just go along.
Another night bg loses their keep in eb
Sup prophet! Lookin gooood.
Thanks BP. Your insights on our weaknesses are accurate. I hope that the points drive home harder because they are coming from an opponent.
Also as BP has demonstrated, effective use of TS is key to coordination. On average NA prime time has about 40+ on TS. Spread over different maps and different activities. Could use more usage.
Servers like JQ, SoR all utilize their server Teamspeak. Entire WvW guilds use their server Teamspeak over their own guild ones. This hurdle has to be crossed if you want to be successful.
So how did SBI beat AR last week?
We qued 3-4 maps on reset night and then didn’t really show up for the next 3 days. I yelled at the server via our forums and the masses showed up that last 2+ days of the match- up. True story.
True true! Those PvE noobs! <3
AR imo has good duelist small group tactics and players. I think it’s due to being an spvp server. I know several sbi who were good in spvp transfer there for spvp. They do occasionally wvw too.
I have to say one AR on average is worth at least 2 SBI in small group situations. Ie. Anything less than 20.
Do you think any of this has to do with how players are spec’d? I ask because I know my guild has made efforts to spec for group dynamic, which leaves some at a disadvantage for small group tactics. We have had some take on small group specs with the intent of branching out from the zerg to take other objectives, and from what ive seen the do very good in small group skirmishes.
That is true. AR guys seemed to be specced for small fights, individual roamer style.
And yes if you spec for group dynamic, the larger the group the more effective.
For SBI a lot are PvE spec. Lol. I kinda force those who run with me to make certain builds and use certain skills, even then it’s not fully adopted. Stubborn bunch!
If you like I could tell you more, but I’d prefer if you transferred hehe
I agree in large group tactics and believe in organized wvw. Glad to know BP does it too. Ive seen some of it, but what depth of coordination you guys do beyond a veil I’m not too clear.
From my experience on our BL, they seem to be very clear on their objectives – it’s very clear when they intend to hold a tower or keep, and they’re very good at getting back to defend. This speaks to a decent level of coordination at the macro level at least.
Oh you’re talking objectives. I was talking coordination in combat. Like [RG] for instance.
I heard they are in JQ now… maybe I should get on my SoR acct to fight them hehe..
So how did SBI beat AR last week?
They had a pajama party on Wednesday night we couldn’t recover from. I think they pvd us to 0. Also Eternal was a problem for us throughout the week. That is where the hive mind is located.
Haha that’s what you’d like to think :P

Fist of the Empire is right. It is time to spread out the WvW pops because of the way the new system determines match ups.
Pick a server you think the name is cool or epic and fight for it.
Are there even tiers anymore? With the way match ups are grouped now, it’s your rating/rank with some random modifier and boom you’re matched against 2 other servers.
I think it’s up to 9ranks above or below you. So what’s rating/rank do for you other than increase or decrease your probability of who you face next week? Even then the random modifier changes that so much it’s impossible to predict who your next 2 opponents are gonna be.
One can only hope for a close matchup so the week will be exciting. Once the week is over its another dice roll.
Did SBI throw in the towel already? Where are all those numbers you had last week?
Probably got thier map completion done. Also I’m overseas and haven’t been playing. Was kinda hoping AR would be hitting the stronger server like what was said last week but oh well.
Don’t mind me I just came to see what Jed said.
SF still has a place on SBI. With the way the match ups are assigned now, what we faced in the past before the exodus has less chance of reoccurring.
Come home.
Yulo, as usual, I’d have to decline, we’ve really etched ourselves in to JQ even moreso than what I did on SBI. Besides, I got all of my close SBI compatriots in my guild anyway
..well aside from you, you’d be a pretty good addition sir :P
I’m still hoping. Server’s been riding the waves since, but generally it’s picked itself up and ready to learn from more experienced WvW guilds like SF.
I wish I could do more for SBI but there is only one of me. I still got my other accounts on SoR but playing less there coz of the queue times. I hang out with SSQ and her happy partners since Miasmic got pregnant and disappeared. Trying to see if there is a possibility of SAHP returning too.
The new system needed time to stabilize.
Last week there were 2 close match ups.
This week there are 5.
Hopefully this trend continues.
Don’t mind me I just came to see what Jed said.

Come home.
Please consider queue times and skill lag. The way the match ups are assigned now, the weeks you get close scores are the most exciting.
I would not recommend any of the servers that you had listed except for Mag.
However reading your posts, saying that you like to be with people who will fight outnumbered, wanting to learn and grow, consider SBI.

So we guested SBI instead and invited them along.
SBI runs weekly Temple Runs guesting on other servers. You are welcome to join us.

@Dovgan I have a feeling I know who that thief is. If it is who I think it is, it’s best you ignore him and don’t take what he says to heart.
One of the reasons why I’m playing less on the top tiers is because of the queue times + skill lag.
The fights you get do not differ that much. Some more advanced tactics if you find the right people to run with. Otherwise I’d take a no queue, skill lag less fight over moving to top tiers.
SAHP come back to SBI. Anything you need to return home, let me know, I will find a way.
I will talk to SSQ when I have a chance.
BP is leading. We push BP. If that changes we reevaluate.
Chays you didn’t recognize my voice on TS? Lol. It was Cassy and Gunbang from Kiwi, Ralin from TB and me directing on server TS.
(edited by Jyeoi.6027)
And also SBI kitten , you got either a good skilled group or a skilled commander with very good pug listeners. I know a strong opponent when I see one, makes me wonder if you guys use do lots of GvG.
We don’t GvG because we do not have a guild with enough members to do that. How do I put it, we focus on the WvW overall as a server than as guild vs guild. Does that make sense to you? Lol
We have only a few good commanders and are really only effective when we use the server Team Speak. Those that die are usually those not on TS.
The one thing I notice more than anything from SBI is the lack of upgrade strategy and lack of cap timing. Not all SBI, but a large portion. You guys are decent on the field, but unfortunately in WvW it’s a PPT game. Capping under the 4 minute mark and doing the very basic upgrades on your camps/towers makes a world of difference.
Thank you and this has been noted. This comes from the fact that our basics are weak. A lot of the newer WvWers come and just follow the zerg. We also lack a large enough WvW core to commit to offense and defense at the same time.
Timer play? I have not seen many do it since the exodus many months ago.
A few of us remember how to WvW, but it gets a little frustrating going over the basics over and over again.
I myself teach advanced methods now to those who wish to learn. We share basics on our server forum for those who care to learn them.
SBI has room for WvW guilds to come and flourish here. Our server community is strong and welcoming and we thank you for your feedback.

I’m also beginning to think the 3 colors now don’t mean anything. Its not the server ranks that decide the color. It seems rather random. You get grouped with 2 other servers and then the game decides which color you are randomly?
Good fights tonight SBI. You put a lot of pressure on BPBL.
Ive seen alot of Reds dominate thier match ups since the new rating system. This match so far, it is clear who the leaders are.
SBI will be taking the fight to the leaders.
Well done fellas. Missed most of this match up, but I hope the times I was on made a difference.
Thanks to Ganongoat for stepping up and rollin with what he’s learnt and the rest of y’all for supporting. Props to Ralin and TB too, your teamwork has been invaluable.
And to all who picked yourselves up and back into the fight, your effort is rewarded.
IoJ, if SBI is no longer red it means it’s wooden and the recap zerg usually leaves about 20 minutes after they recap their BL and go to EB.
AR does have smarter players than we do on the whole. That statement right there is someone who reads the maps and understands the flow of battle.
Accurate statement. SBI cares too much about the home BL and EB.
I can only teach people how to setup organized WvW. After that it’s the students that have to perform.
I get chuckles reading people say SBI numbers this week. Against other servers we are the one usually outnumbered. Wish WvW pop could be more balanced though.
Na it’s 6 warriors, 9 guardians, 6 staff eles, 3 glamour mesmers and 6 plague necros.
I won’t deny it. Our defence is weak. Only a handful of people know how to set up defensive siege properly.
Keep hitting us until we learn.
Wanted to say this last week but if [AGG] is the best ya got DB.
You are not prepared.
And @ Jyeoi, we know that 1st manipulates who gets 2nd…so we’re not playing for 2nd. We’re going for the big dog (dat’s you) and for the most part, nobody else. It’s not perfect, people will still do what they want, but most commanders on IoJ would rather hit the big dog.
Noted and agree. Last week SBI also doubled teamed with Mag against a green DB. I believe that should be the way WvW is to be played. Attacking the biggest threat instead of picking on the weakest for points.
Which is why we focus on AR because they are the stronger of the two.
Champs [SBI] is about the only WvW guild left on SBI and we do not have numbers. Our focus is organized WvW. Our commanders get on and organize the multitude of pugs we have into an organized fighting force.
We welcome any WvW focused guilds to our server to join our effort for organized WvW.
I’m not sure if IoJ noticed that we are trying to help your score be more competitive this week.
For some strange reason all our maps are queued and our TS is full… Hmmm..
Dude Indo, come on SBI TS once in a while and give us a speech like that lol.
I’ve always seen SoR as a sister server to SBI because of the friends I have on SoR and how the attitude of the server so closely resembles the old SBI.
SBI is climbing out of the pit, and finding that old SBI never-die-attitude again.
Long live SoR! Much deserved!
Current SBI NA and SEA WvW. Come be a part of this steadily improving community.

That is why the newly proposed orbs do not give that much of an advantage to the stronger server. Pls read the points carefully.
Small amt of points.
WvW guild buffs at the location where the orb is.
Orb resets strictly on timer.
It will just be an added fun thing thrown in. Do I want to take a keep with the orb there where the defenders have buffs at the location? After I take it do I want to commit forces there to hold it? What time does the orb timer have left before it resets?
Several of my most fond memories in WvW were orb running. There was just so much fun running around the map being chased by the enemy, hiding in towers, watching clueless noobs holding the orb running the wrong way, lol.
Here are my suggestions Anet:
1. Successfully running the orb from N camp to one of the controlled keeps gives a small amount of points.
2. Successfully returning the orb to N camp gives a small amount of points.
3. Orbs don’t give the buffs they used to, instead they give full WvW guild type buffs to the location it is at. Ie. N camp for the defenders, bay, hills or garrison.
4. Orb will reset to the N camp after X amount of time. There will be no way to return the orb to N camp ahead of time, only until the timer runs out. This is to prevent fly hackers any incentive to get to the orb.
5. If a location containing the orb flips, the buffs simply benefit the owners of that location.
Bring back the orbs.
The time is now.
SBI needs you more than ever. You have been abroad, learning new and better ways to fight. It is time to return home. Bring that experience you have and bring our server to it’s former glory.
Those of us who had remained, kept home safe and well for you. We are waiting patiently for you, our brothers and sisters.
If you need help returning, please post here or on the SBI forums www.stormbluffisle.com and we will assist.

This matchup is interesting because it actually encouraged a somewhat sustained 2v1 on the leaders of the match.
Wasn’t WvW made so that 2 servers were supposed to attack the leader until the leader changed? The lower tiers never got this. They would always attack the weakest of the 3. Weak.
When you stack up and buff before a fight, you not only waste half the buff duration but also give your opponent time to reposition. We love seeing pre-buffers, count to six then enjoy easy mode with opponents stuff on cool down.
That is the best time to push into a group… in the lower tiers they “ok, lets stack up, fire field” take at least 12-15 seconds to do it, rather than doing it on the run. A bad stack is a good bag delivery system.
Hahaha exactly. Stacking for buffs is outdated tactics. You invite the opposition to mass cc you, spike aoe and turn you all into loot bags.
YO! SBI! We magummers were trying to help you at Mendons by trebbing the DB wall down lol. We decided to help you push DB out of Mendons and you just turn and zerg our trebs down on the hill
Apologies. We still have alot of new players who cannot see a 2v1 in thier favor. Please excuse the noobness.
One of the reasons why one of our best moved to JQ was to find [Agg] and do this to them. There was a grudge between the 2 since we faced SoS in t1.
Go Jed Quarry.
You SBI people. Help me think of something to call you guys. Also it feels like more SBI are playing than Mag
Steel Balls Isle. They click as we run over your bodies.
From what I’ve seen so far, Mag has got better skill level players/groups than DB does.
That said farming lootbags this week is not going to be easy compared to the Loot bag farms we had on SoS and CD. Gonna miss my bags
Watch the mini-map for flowing battlefield maneuvers. Flanks, Pincers, Anvil & Hammers. It’s all there. Art of War ladies and gents, Art of War.
