I personally use Player Hosted Eventsto gather my war band. I post it on my server website some time ahead to gather interested people. This ensures that I have people who turn up who are interested, ready to cooperate and sets a time frame for the raid event.

This Wednesday, Slingblade [BGN] and Juggs [KWBH] will be leading a defensive class. This class is open to all, and everyone with an interest in defensive siege is encouraged to join. Slingblade will go over siege types and positioning, supply management, and a variety of other topis . So, if you are interested in siege or want a refresher, this is the class for you.

My my this section just got hot! SBI had a solid year of growth, some set backs but the resolve to keep fighting is still strong!

We have a dedicated individuals backing our server Teamspeak, Website and Community, which in turn enriches your gameplay experience.

Consider making SBI your home.

Paying a monthly sub doesn’t guarantee a better game or that the devs will listen to you.

I’ve seen in-game reviews of the beta in PvE and PvP and I’m not impressed. Also after paying for WoW for 5 years, monthly subs are a big turn off.

SBI isn’t dying. We had a couple of medium-sized WvW guilds disband and one xfer, but many more are staying. We also have guilds who have transferred in or are beginning to transfer onto SBI and it will take them time to get all of there members over. So, at the moment, SBI is not quite as strong as it was as we are in a bit of a state of flux, but there is no dreaded “mass exodus” and the community is pulling together. Many people here are experienced and mature enough to know that nothing stays the same for long in a server’s WvW community. We roll with the changes, work to improve, and keep fighting. EotM is not helping as it has probably drawn a fair amount of our militia away from WvW, but I’m already seeing more activity back on the WvW maps.

Also, Maguuma seems to have added some guilds and decided to play for PPT moreso than in the past.

I encourage any guild with the following characteristics to strongly consider SBI:

- Work well with others

I think the emphasis on community is a little too strong. Negative communities drive away existing guilds and might not attract new ones (Maguuma’s problem), positive ones are just a check box on a guild’s decision to move.

The number one decision, I’ve found, is rivalries.

When SBI went down, most went to JQ over SoS because SoS ruined their moment of triumph (they were poised for a run of First places).

If you’re talking about decision to move for WvW I will agree. Having a good community is just a plus point. Who you get to fight is the main reason along with who fights alongside you are usually the deciding factors.

However I think Oxo was saying in long term what keeps a server alive is a good server community. I believe WvW communities are fragile at best. It can change and go south quite quickly. Server communities on the other hand remain and are the bed rock of your server.

Nice assumption about SBI Exodus Chris but here’s the facts. I hate myself for repeating this so many times but I just had to set it straight.

WvW guilds on SBI around the time of free transfers ending decided to try help balance WvW. Very much like what his thread is trying to discuss.

So with JQ having the strongest SEA at the time, SBI’s NA moved there to complement it. SoR having the strongest NA at the time, SBI’s SEA went there. We tried create a balance way back then. Our finest came out and helped SoR’s (Fannwong) and JQ’s (Jedbacca) communities respectively.

If there’s one achievement that Mag has done that impressed me, is that it managed to amass such a collection of trolls together in one place, it’s incredible. It’s really quite an impressive feat.

Mag is a ghost town SEA time. Like 5 ppl, whatever SEA guilds that go are gonna be alone. SBI and DB are so bored with Mag during that time zone, we spend most our time hammering each other in the open.

Dont be fooled by the illusion that your stuff is still green during that tz Mag, its just that you are a boring server to fight during SEA so we dont even bother going there after a while.

More of this nonsense and im starting another thread.

Be nice to those you meet on the way up because you will meet them on the way down.

Enough talk.

Even during this hard week against Mag’s NA guilds and DB’s overwhelming SEA, SBI is still holding on! Not going down without a fight.

It’s all about working together and being able to resolve differences in a mature manner. Having such a wide spectrum of age groups this becomes very challenging but not impossible.

Some important life lessons can be learnt here. Who would have thought a game could provide for that?

Blod, sad to see you and LEXs move. If you had stayed you would have seen the fruits of your labour. People sieging and refreshing, people scouting, people dedicated to defense.
