I can’t find any information on the reward for reaching 500 save the title/achievement, if anyone finds more info on this will be appreciated

Agree with the OP, gw1 events yielded more items than a single headpiece and didnt require hardcore payoff to actually get something

Holiday events shouldnt be so intensive in costs as it is with the BLC rate at the moment

the candy can be

-part of a couple of mystic forge combination that yields recipes to make permanent versions of the temporary items you brought(item intensive recipes tho)
-combine mystic forge for the new rare quality mini pet for the halloween event

possibly more uses as the other acts are unvealed, not to mention that even if you trade the candies for bags and get the skulls ect, those are also used as part of the recipes mentioned for the weapons

I really hope they make some great skins for the other weapons eventually, I love greatswords but this is the second instance of favoritism I’ve seen toward it and its not how I hope things will go in the future :p

Second, GW2 isn’t based on acquiring skins. You’re thinking of Pokemon. There is no advantage to looking different except looking different. If you WANT to look different you have two choices. Choice A is to spend money to buy what you want. Choice B is to spend gold to buy what you want.

You’re buying aesthetics in GW2. There is no advantage from spending cash except for convenience.

Are you serious? This game is all about skins, just as gw1 was, the only thing you got right in all this is that this game isnt about advantages because unlike wow or other games where there are stat differences, but thats exactly it, our progress is defined by skins.

While the skins for this event isnt a necessity, at the same time I disagree with the BLC drop rate, agreeing with this or letting this go will only set the game in a direction and thats not something I hope to see where every holiday/event’s premiere items are set up in ridiculous chances/prices.

I’m tired to see fanatic white knighting everywhere because in the end its only people like this that stay in the game while my original friendlist which are the more casual players or guild barely log in anymore due to the high standard anet set for these things, gw1 made you grind in events for things and that was ok, they took it up a notch in gw2 and I simply cant agree with that.

When the entire game is about skins, its ridiculous to defend your point by saying people “dont need” anything and just play.

Working hard for something its understandable, but the amount of work required to get a BLC skin is not within reasonable “hard work” range. I’m working for the legendary, i’m planning on getting the craft items from the recipes too, but the drop chance from the BLC is a problem no matter how you put it.

Saying that if you dont want to you dont need to get anything is true, but in that mentality alot of people will be playing this game without getting anything because anet is putting the standards a little too high, this is a holiday event not a legendary quest, while some of the items should be rare, the situation shouldnt be as it is now where people are about to get out of the event without anything to remember it by.

If taking gw1 as a example, the vanity items in each event arent reused so I would say that theres a good chance it wont come back, the recipe ones however will probably still be there tho

Maybe try asking in LA at a busy time would give you better result if until then no one replied to you…I’ve been trying to find more info but theres nothing aside from the greatsaw and the shield -.-’

Just like how some legendary weapons look amazing and others look like a joke xD but the halloween weapons arent so bad, some are plain looking and thus not worth the effort but there are some cool ones…I like the daggers with a hand on it

Yes I’m noticing something along these lines aswell….although low level players can participate by mining and getting the haunted doors, there isnt much for them beyond that that I could see…even the jumping puzzle is in the 70 area…I’m fine with my 80 but I dont see alot for my low lvl characters to do

I would buy the skins if only the accessibility to them were more reasonable.

Frankly, I don’t even know what to make of these people who say “dont like dont pay” when clearly even they aren’t getting the skins, they might be fine with not having them but the fact is, they themselves know that the chances from the BLC aren’t worth it, and in the end thats the only true problem isnt it? Regardless if you think the chests are ok or not, no one considers the current “chances” to be anything near okay.

The people playing the devil’s advocate aren’t taking the main point into consideration: it isn’t fine that so many people complain or that they should just shut up and accept it.

Anet runs on the money people spend by buying gems, not the same as free-players who trade gold for gems, if people feel cheated out because of the ridiculous chances on rng getting them, these same unsatisfied people will be those who wont buy gems and support the game anymore.

Legendaries are hard but work at it and someday you will get it.
Halloween permanent weapons are hard but work at it and you can get it.

BLC? Open 100+ and you might get some skin and it might not even be what you wanted, compared to other “insane” but tangible tasks given for other weapon or armor, these blc skins are not okay at all.

But the MAJOR point here should be that casual clothing ruined that part of the game, in gw1 there was vanity icons were you can simply put these costumes in it and it would show off despite whatever gear you had. Personally all casual vanity items are a no-no for me because I spend 90% of my time fighting somewhere, no matter how much I like the hood I wont get it because its unusable for me and toggling between the 2 just to show off for a bit is ridiculous -.-

I like the costumes, but considering I spend 90% of my playtime fighting somewhere, casual clothing isnt worth it no matter how much I like them, sadly :/

in gw1 the god avatar costumes were cool and I could both idle and go to dungeons with them…point is that the separation done in gw2 isnt very handy…

Main point is that it’s not “fun” for anyone seeing as that the amount of gold wasted on “chance” is ridiculously low, the OP himself said that he grinded for the weapon with hardwork, but the problem here is that ASIDE from hard work there is a ridiculous low chance to “play lottery” and get it.

I bet that if Jormag’s breath needed to farm mats AND then you had to play lottery to get it such as from the mystic forge that the OP wouldnt find it very funny either.

It’s sickening to read this kind of fanaticism, you love the game and thats great but it doesnt mean that the game its perfect, and if it does something to take the fun away for other people they are entitled to express so.

The chances on the BLC skins are disappointing, gw2 took “grinding” to a whole new level even beyond what gw1 was, I like grinding like most gw fans but its not enjoyable to make skins as hard to get as legendary weapons.

Luck or not, I think this seriously takes away the enjoyment for players who honestly went after said skins to the point of opening around hundred chests and getting barely anything they wanted to show for, such RNG is NOT fun. I really hope anet changes this, if they want us to work hard toward something like the recipe for the weapons im ok with that, but the situation with the BLC? Horrible.

so what they did was take a surplus of bottom tier crafting materials, which could have helped all the new low level players get their early crafting tiers done, and they gave recipies that only players level 68 or above had a chance at using cost effectively.

They passed the surplus goods to these higher level toons who then profited off them and that drove the price of all the bottom tier crafting materials to ten times their previous level. HOW did this help the game?

and for the record the prize you get in the ‘Mystic Box’ is basically junk.

It’s good for the low level characters aswell since they can actually profit somewhat even with low level items, copper ore was dirt cheap before this and now it’s actually worth selling somewhat, what is a lowbie going to do with gazillion stacks of ores and other crafting materials that are barely worth anything? At least this way they can make decent money by going through the trouble of gathering stuff at low level.

Personally I’m fine with this, with my lowbies I wasn’t even bothering with gathering as the materials were worthless, now they can actually make some money by themselves

Did everyone who posted about chests here use the standard “recipe” of a coin+ ecto and 2 stacks of materials?
