I think we actually may get something good. Only problem is I can’t think of anything, and usually I’m good at that kind of stuff.

A signet would be nice. Small life leach on hit with stability on use would be just fine.

You’d have better luck with Ele or Mesmer for ranged. Thief ranged is more about utility or filler damage until it’s safe to go back into melee range. Can’t speak for P/P though only gave it one shot ages ago and I was not a fan.

I wanted to point out as well that the complaints mostly do come from WvW thieves but consider that in WvW #1 The damage is higher #2 There are possibly more that 5 people hitting you at a time. Just makes the prevalence of getting spiked down to 25% that more common than in PvP settings.

It’s a trait that is supposed to help keep you alive that in certain situations can leave you in a tough spot. Older/more skilled players know enough to work around it by now. The question is should they have to be doing so in the first place?

Once again its an l2p issue. Even if you are revealed you can still survive. Not being invisible doesn’t mean death. Also did you just say you triple dodge while you play? Typycal random dodger QQing about a trait being broken .

Don’t bother feeding the local troll. Just pat him on the head and smile.

I remember asheron’s call had such an issue with players grouping up in the main trade “hub” town that it was crashing the servers. Thier solution to the problem was to blow up the city in the shadow invasion patch. The REAL funny thing was that they literally turned the town into a giant burnt out crater. What they FORGOT to do was adjust the Z axis cords for the players that had logged off in town before the patch so for about 8 hours afterwards I had a blast just sitting on the rim of the crater watching people falling out of the sky to their death. One of the most hilarious moments in gaming I’ve ever had.

It’s a simple fix. Just use the “Camouflage” ability http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Camouflage_ instead of blinding powder. That bypasses all the problems with revealed as you are not really in stealth. That can’t be a hard fix either, just a spell ID swap.

Their “to-do” list shouldn’t take over a year to cycle through. I understand prioritzation but this was straining credibility 6 months ago, now it’s just embarrassing.

It can’t be a hard fix, there are plenty of already existing spell effects that grant “invisiblity” instead of stealth. Seriously just fix it already.

I want to remind everyone that this isn’t a discussion about precursors or specific rewards, that’s a different conversation. This is a discussion of the pro/cons and philosophy behind different forms of RNG implementation.

When precursors are the only RNG drop that actually matters in this game that’s what people are going to gravitate towards discussing…

They did comment on it at one point when people were suggesting that they just change it to give us a protection boon for like 5 seconds that they wanted it to “thematically” still fit into the SA trait line, meaning it needed to be stealth related. In any case that was close to a YEAR AGO now which at this point is just getting embarrassing. Love to see it’s status on their bug tracker.

They’re supposed to be unique lore-wise. Many of those items are specific things that, in theory, exist in only one instance in the world. Obviously that’s not the case as the game handles it, but it’s supposed to feel that way.

To me it’s more “lore” breaking to have them sitting in my bank unusable. I can’t imagine that being a legitimate limiter when you see people running around dual fisting legendaries.

Option #2 please. Those people that have been playing since release but have never seen a precursor drop need some love. If they just slowly built up some loot karma for not having RNJesus on their side seems like a very good option.

@aspirine.6852 I know right! that happened to me too, I mean that’s when I hit random parts of my screen during combat, I lose track of my cursor and whenever I right click to move the cam I accidentally hit random windows! It is indeed very annoying… either way don’t want to complain so much because again, I knew this is how it was and I decided to get the game regardless because I love the art and the overall gameplay is not bad, it is playable and enjoyable, is just this arrow annoying me around that could be so easy fix to the game…. make it optional! in top of all that now I can’t even use a community made mod for enhance my gameplay experience because I fear to get banned… ugh.

That’s because modifying the game is likely illegal and certainly IS against the ToS. If you want to use something, then suggest it to anet and hope it gets into the game.

No. ArenaNet is 100% against hacks and cheats. Their use, attempted use, or distribution will result in the closure of any individual game accounts that are associated with the hacks or cheats.

Auto-hotkey does not modify the client anymore than your mouse software does. Granted they can ban you for any reason what so ever but “hacking” or “cheating” this is not.

It looks like an L2p issue to me. I never used shadow arts so I dont know how it feels like but even then if you die to this trait , you should look into your own gameplay .

Can’t tell if that’s a troll post or not. If you ever played a D/D build that had shadow refuge you’d know that it’s not a L2P issue when you are trying to CnD for stealth only to have LR pop leaving you with a revealed debuff while you are less than 25% life. Unless you are very lucky that usually is equal to death. It’s the same with any kind of delayed damage ability. Shoot an arrow, LR pops, arrow lands, revealed debuff, death.

You know its a bad design when people are actively avoiding the whole talent tree just to avoid a first tier passive.

Especially considering that there are offensive and defensive versions with the same stats and in the case of the rings you can equip an infused and an uninfused version of the same ring.

Also take into consideration that if you happened to have a magic find ring / accessory lying around you can also stat select those into clones and bypass the “unique” qualifier anyway.

I just don’t see the point.

Friends of mine were theory crafting a WvW alternative that had zerg control. This is what we came up with:

Large world map broken up into pieces (think 3 colored pie chart made into a puzzle).

Each piece of the puzzle is a population limited map (we were thinking 10v10 but that could be anything). Each puzzle piece is linked to 5-6 other pieces via portals. Way point in the middle of each piece is activated when all connected pieces are controlled by a single color.

You can see where this is going. There’s a LOT more details to this but it would quickly turn into a TL;DR.

Anyway just my 2¢

I’ve tried. Doesn’t have nearly the same punch as a properly marketed expansion. I hate to point to WoW but they were adding content constantly as well but what draws everyone back time and again? Expansions.

First off, it took WoW almost 3 years to get their first expansion out and they didn’t add any new content like GW2 has all free of charge (if you take advantage of it at the time of release). So perspective and patience might be in order.

Secondly, I fully support the idea and reasons for an expansion. Give it more time and I hope we see a Cantha down the road.

WoW also existed in a vacuum for most of those 3 years. I honestly don’t even think an expansion is necessary, but the CONTENT and the MARKETING is. Usually you throw those two words together and it equals an expansion but as long as you have both in sufficient quantity any form is acceptable.

I left the game for over a year. When I came back recently I spend two evenings doing all the new content, that’s just over a years worth of content lasted two evenings.

Seriously disappointed with the volume of content that has been added. The quality of the stories were good as were the maps. Just really disappointing for the amount of time that has passed that nothing substantial has really been added.

OP is right if you think of it. Properly marketed expansion is something that always brings people back. Living story updates every 2 weeks is just not enough of incentive for many people to come back – they want something massive

There’s no point unless I can get my friends to take another look at it. MMO’s are all about community and while I’m sure that there are still plenty of people playing, I need MY guys playing for it to really be fun.

Basically GW2 needs an expansion. Badly. It’s such a great game (mechanics/design) it just needs an expansion level content boost to get people to give it another shot.

My personal dream would be of a more sandbox style addition to the game.

Very few of the old Anet people are still around. I get a real “just doing their job” vibe instead of anything passionate from this current dev crew and I think it’s really reflecting in the game itself.

Incorrect, they are only changing crit damage but they are reducing it enough to account for 10% overall drop in damage.

The point is, they are tweaking not only Crit Damage, but also other stats — starting with the Celestial pieces. They also mentioned that nothing is set in stone which implies that they may tweak other stats as they see fit.

Obviously you need to learn how to read. A couple of minutes reading the notes for comprehension’s sake would have saved your face.

They only made changes to celestial because of how hard of a hit it was going to take. If they change any other stat on any other gear then it will be completely unannounced which I find unlikely. So instead of making vague asinine inferences why don’t we just wait till tomorrow and see who’s right huh?

Ascended items and the upcoming patch

^ Those combo trinkets are really good. You drop a few points of the worst damage stat (Precision), and get health in return. I’ll be running the ring/accessory combo for those after the Feature patch.

I wish that I had the foresight to do the same thing on the amulet, but I have zerker’s with an MF infusion, so there’s no helping it now.

I’m most likely just going to take a hiatus until they realize what a condition laden cluster-F they’ve created with this. The only way this makes any sense to me at all is if they are feverishly working on a rework of conditions so that they have to make the same damage vs survival trade offs that power builds do.

The dwarfs may have made a poor choice. The reason the dragons went dorment in the first place was that after the magic of the races was sealed within the bloodstone they were literally starving to death. Jormag was getting around that by eating magical artifacts but there is only so much of that to go around.

With scarlet messing with the ley lines (the thing sustaining the dragons in their dorment state) they are not going to have much choice but to arise or starve with the exception of Primordious who is getting magical dwarf food deliveries on a daily basis.

It just seems like Anets development staff is woefully undermanned for the amount of profit the game is pulling in. When the golden goose is laying egg after egg you don’t stint on feeding it just to save a couple bucks. Is it just me or did corporate America get a frontal lobotomy like 10 years ago?

I was sorely tempted to buy a collection expander but I’m holding off putting any more money into the game until they make a change to the rally/res mechanics in WvW. Game doesn’t have much longevity for me as long as this continues to get ignored

Unfortunately, what WvW is, is PvD, PvW and sometimes PvS. EotM is essence of this, the map looks gorgeous, but it’s a braindead run-in-circles marathon.

Yea, if they took EoTM and removed all the PvE objectives / doors etc. I think it would be a fun time for anyone who just wanted to fight. Problem is then it wouldn’t serve the purpose it was designed for which was a waiting room for WvW.

I do find it funny though that they designed a whole map to help with WvW queue’s when that’s only really an issue on like 4 servers. IMO that should be the price you pay for xfering over to a horribly bloated server, but instead they get catered too.
