It’s not too expensive at all. You don’t need to get the dungeon armour, it’s a prestige item to show you put the effort into getting it. If you want a prestige dungeon set you need to be prepared to do a lot of dungeons, that’s the entire point. Where is the prestige if they practically hand them out as soon as you get through the portal?
My goal is to beat all the explorables without a single death. Once thats done ill aim for beating them all without anyone in my party dieing. Thats me personally though. Thats my current end game.
Lol, that’ll keep you busy for a while! I want to complete all explorable paths, get all dungeon armour sets and get a set of legendaries.
The pve system is amazing all the way up to 80. The point is, after 80 and you’ve completed all the zones and dungeons..there is nothing to do. There is one level 80 instance(legit). LOL

Honor of the Waves Explorable – Level 80
Crucible of Eternity Explorable – Level 80
Arah Explorable – Level 80
Each with multiple paths.
Then what is the point of having gear in this game unless its just for cosmetics? Are we getting better gear to complete the current content or we getting it look good for our characters?
Exotic gear from the source of your choice is to complete current dungeon content. Legendaries and exotic dungeon gear with different skins show what you’ve cleared and that you’ve spent a lot of time there, same as a WoW raid title or mount.
No, but gear is required to move further in content. This game doesn’t really require that. I’ve done all dungeons. Nothing special. Easy.
A few bosses in WoW are pure gear-checks (Patchwerk for example) but for most the main difficulty adjustment in high end raiding comes from new and increasingly complex boss mechanics and a need to perform the tactics, your roles & your rotations flawlessly as the fights become less forgiving of mistakes. And someone min-maxing can often out-do someone in better gear who doesn’t optimise their performance.
GW2 explorable modes focus on the unforgiving mechanics and a need to understand your class and build. and also the abilities of those around you.
You’ve cleared all explorable mode paths in all instances? Really?
Gear isn’t progression in WoW either, so I don’t understand these arguments. Boss kills are progression. Go clear all the explorable modes, there’s your progression.
And the GW2 dungeon gear isn’t the equivalent of WoW gear, which is disposable stuff that allows you entry to the next raid. GW2 dungeon gear is the equivalent of WoW raid mounts and titles.
I will view sitting around in Lion’s Arch in a full Orr dungeon set as the same as sitting around in Dalaran on my ICC 25man drake.
I don’t like the idea of paying for content patches, sounds a bit too much like DDO where you have to pay for every other quest. I will flat out not pay for these, ever.
I will absolutely buy (pre-purchase even) all expansions. I hope they make a lot of large, quality expansions. I think the GW1 expansions were very good.
I already bought bank space & I will buy character slots and the occasional dye pack to support them a bit since there’s no sub.
