85s10c -BUY//// 97s94c -SELL ( i thought they were above 1g last time i checked, let’s seem em drop to 40s!!!)

IT would be helpful if there were other ways to get mystic coins in WVW and PVP. maybe there are already , i’m just unware.

what are they…
—There’s the PvE meta thing “Rewarded once a day from completing the Defeat the Ley-Line Anomaly to disperse its destructive energy before it overloads event.”
—Daily reward every so often from the mystic toliet daily.
—Mystic clovers – sometimes drops 5-50 coins instead
—Possible drop from Fluctuating Mass gotten from salvaging (25 Dragonite Ore and 25 Empyreal Fragments) with these : Sentient Aberration or Sentient Anomaly(so, so rare)
—Login rewards
Still these are mostly PvE things, so yeah having multiple other ways in WvW and from PvP would be more balanced.

edit: maybe some reward track do give them. hmm or not? well k if they do that’s one way, now 3 more (each)

Oh and btw anyone have pictures of the new Wintersday scribbing objects. Sad Anet didn’t release any pics of what they look like in scale or is this some magical thing we are suppose to discover? because that’s not really fun when things are uber expensive and you think a “Pirate Flag” is gunna have a skull and crossed bones on it and turns out its some basic flag thing not at all like you had imagined.

Yes i crafted this before there were pics of it online. BIG MISTAKE!
Hence why i’m waiting now with these new Wintersday ones

Cause that “Large Hemisphere” no clue about the scale but 2 snowpiles? must be small seems like the base/bottom of a snow globe?

and that “Snowman Ice Sculpture” will it be comparable to the size of the Ice Reindeer or smaller like those snowmen on the piles of snow with the snowballs?

NO IDEA what they’ll look like?!?!? not on wiki yet, no pics on gw2 website that i can find Giving these things the ability to have a preview would be super nice

Scribing upgrades

True, never really thought about interactions much. was nice you could turn Jack-o-lanterns on and off but when you left the guild hall they defaulted back to being on, which is a problem if you’re using those same pumpkins in the off-state to decorate for thanksgiving. And its real annoying to have to go around to everypumpkin and turn it around and/or place and object behind it to hide the face. But that’s small.

Like many want to see are other objects already ingame be available to craft. Go to Divinities reach and into any home and just look at all the cool furniture that’s there.

Or wall art for instance. Holbrek has vendors outside the main building selling paintings. Would be cool to make those merchants that actually sell them.

I agree though people had their hopes high up with the possibilities of decorating the guild hall and then when seeing how anet basically just favored large guilds and the burden it would put on small guilds to decorate beyond basic, basic things, alot of people lost interest. I like crafting but don’t want to have to sell my kids on the black market just to be able to dump gold into scribbing to make not even rare things. Slashing the prices in half or even 70% would bring back interest to decorate. I think the real problem of this kitten is that some people in smaller guilds don’t want to throw away their money on things that aren’t personally theirs or won’t have access/permissons to decorate. Seems like i dump 60-75% of the mats into the guild for scribbing which is not the intent of guild decorating. It’s not personal decorating its for the guild and i can be kicked out of it at anytime which is also a great concern when dumping in this kinda gold to something that isn’t mine. Granted, when i didn’t have permissions i didn’t want to contribute as much because it was cost sooo much if i didn’t have permissions myself. I can understand/ see why others might feel that way, which can be a problem part of the problem small guilds have that larger ones might not as much. I like scribbing but not at this expense, which leads me to not doing it. Which is sad because its one thing i really liked about HoT. Moving to a decorating guild i would then lose the respect i currently have and possibly lose permissions, which defeats the purpose.

So i guess i’ll just be waiting for the next xpac and hope they include semi-instanced “Village community personal housing”.

I could even currently see portals from the guild hall to a clone of say the salma district where guildmates could build and decorate their own homes. That would be fun End game content!

Money Sink

Why does all the new achievements become such a gold sink. The material grind and gold sink. It is getting out of control. The carnival weapons skins are way to expensive. For being a casual game why has all the achievements becoming crazy gold sinks. Anet needs to seriously rethink the cost of future achievements. Those on limited incomes can not afford to buy the achievements.

Because HoT is a gold sink expansion, not like the original game.

I’d rather have endgame content that is almost limitless like housing within a community. Gardens to grow things. Farm gold to have great big mansions decorate and pimp out your house to make everyone around you jelly Show off your own style and skill based on rewards you get from chieves that could be placable objects. The ideas are definetly limitless anyways.

BigGuilds vs SmallGuilds: unfair scribe costs

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Kelly.7019

But wouldn’t that system be extremely exploidable? Like, all members besides the scriber/guildboss leave the guild for 5mins, they craft all the stuff/get all the upgrades and people join in again? I’m in a small guild aswell and we are kind of tired of this issue aswell. We just can’t afford the ~800-1000G you need for scribing. But I also don’t really see a way anet could change this to be equal for everyone.

no. putting limits on it like i said, would mitigate that. More people join, upgrades would become locked again, until more mats are used. Obviously it would be less mats then a big guild , but as your guild grows the amount of mats required would scale up to the original amount. There might be stages to hit 50 people 100 people 150 peopl 200 etc . When u hit 50 people things would lock again and the neccesarry mats for that stage would need to be used to unlock. Basically the final stage would be what it is now, stages b4 that would be scaled. The idea is to prevent exploiting. Like i mention before. it’s an idea, i’m sure there are other scaling ideas.

basically in your scenario if everyone left the mats required to unlock would be for 1 person. They’d unlock everything and would be good to go. But if more people joined say 100people, Things would become locked again and more mats would have to be used to unlock that level. (still only20% of the original cost in mats- not bad)

Mats required would scale depending on the number of people in the guild. It wouldn’t be more mats in total then what it currently is, it would just be less mats in stages.

Obviously the flaw with this would be the annoying fact that constantly things get locked again as you guild grows, but more people you have the less everyone needs to donate to unlock. Some people have small guilds this idea would work better for them as they tend to keep their guild at a small size. It’s one idea, i know it isn’t perfect, but i’m sure there are other scaling ideas out there.

Locking out previously accessible upgrades is horrible. It would keep small guilds from wanting to increase their size too rapidly. And what would you do about a guild bank or trove that had items in it but now can’t be accessed because your guild is a friendly guild that decided to let more people in? But can’t be accessed now for a long while because it and the upgrades you had done to it require other upgrades to be fixed.

maybe the tabs of 100 instead would get access to fewer slots at first, more join slots increase and once upgraded they’d be unlocked. idk there’s many ways to do it. Look at other games or what GW1 had for instance.

People who played the original game and already had their Trove /guild bank maxed when HoT launched had to regain access to all that again?right? So it seems Anet already implemented this idea, in part, kinda.

I think individual housing would just be better. If you join a big zerg guild you lose permission to decorate. Then it doesn’t really matter anymore at all. Stay in your close-knit small guild price/cost is huuuuge.

I guess for some its the conveince of what a big guild has for benefits like WvW stuff or guild buffs, while for others its only about decoration. (exploration also is dependant on whether you can place objects or not. I don’t have permissions in my LP guild, can’t have fun exploring that hall :d)
With big guilds if you’re not the guild leader or officer no decorating for you. If small guild usually your friends with everyone and have permissions but costs are huge, benefits don’t really apply.

Permissions kills the idea of decorating. Other people want to decorate too. I think village/community housing is the next way to go since obviously guild halls don’t really work for allowing everyone to decorate. Plus it adds more end game content and huuuuge possibilities.

BigGuilds vs SmallGuilds: unfair scribe costs

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Kelly.7019

Kelly.7019

First off, I’M TIRED OF the HUGE burden of expensive scribe mats for a small guild. Being the sole scribe decorator makes it a huge personal gold sink for a guild based system. Seems too much of a burden to stick one or a few people.

Secondly, A material storage for the gbank or a 4rth tab(for scribbing mats and items) would come in very handy. It should have been implemented with HoT and still can be another upgrade or unlocked by the guild having one maxed scribe? Or how bout 3 It sux to have to dump stockpiles of guild mats on yer alts filling up their bag space or in personal alt gbanks. It’s one thing if you are playing the TP and doing it yourself, its another if this is the system for community based guild halls. This system isn’t working well.
(I also understand not everyone will agree with this, and there are already 3 tabs, but for an inventory hog like scribbing, can be, you woulda thought they would have added another tab to the system.)

PLEASE PLEASE give us personal housing. I’d be fine with instanced village communities, but not instanced homes that we have now, just adding the ability to allow you to decorate would still be kinda pointless. I want the option of choosing the style and placement of my home. Open world homes would be wonderful, but that aint happening. Instanced village homes seems the best of both worlds! And opens new opportunites to explore inaccessible areas of current maps, if applied properly (see pics below)

For those that enjoy decorating they have end game content and for those that don’t, won’t have to worry about it (like me with raids ). But dumping all yer gold down for maxing scribe (for a guild) and being the sole decorator of a guild that only a few in it care about decorating really sux. No matter how much advanced advertising I do, people don’t get the hint to stockpile ahead of the event and then don’t want to donate when mats get pricey ? or they simply don’t care.
Sure you can switch guilds, but then takes time to gain respect and “privledges”(bad design imo)* and trust those people not to screw you over after you’ve dumped Tons of gold into “their guild” (already happened once to me ? )

Clearly Guild hall decorating is for BIG GUILDS, that give more people the opportunity to donate lesser quantities to the guild but still have enough mats to make stuff. Seems like small guilds got screwed. SCALING PRICE or MATS based on the number of people might be one option to fix this. Not much thought seems to have been given on this ?

*Privledges – yea I understand the reason for it, but if you aren’t trusted by the leader and given them you won’t be able to decorate. So time to look for another guild. However, if you are give everyone privledges, because there is a max limitation on number of objects, people run into not being able to place objects- because guild is maxed. Only they didn’t realize this before they decided to level scribe ahead of time and now can’t place anything.
Guild scribes really work better for a few dedicated to decorating, but then not everyone can do it. And lots more then are allowed want to I’ve found. Hence personal housing would seem the way to go!

Pics below – instanced village communities possibility?

Divinities Reach – the outer circle wall, homes could be placed all around here. This could become a new map/s. All the homes high up on the wall, although not scale, could be turned into personal housing. Either rent rooms, or buy a home. fun idea.

Holebrek – Around keg brawl area up on cliffs?
I always wanted to go up and slide down that thing that looks like a slide over there maybe more room could be added in an instanced village community map in that area. Maybe some of these home zones are inside the mountain? Also to the SE side of the map by the “Frost Basin” home zones could be placed inside mountains there too.

Rata Sum seems like the most obvious place to create new home zones. All inside the mountaneous reigon there. Sure there are labs that are around it, but there is plenty more available space for housing.

Slyvari have lots of space around the tree just outside the Grove that is currently unused? I mean what are these areas? South- “Sea Watcher’s Ledge”, West- “Privet Gardens”, North- “Necrolith Bay”, East- “The Sea Rider’s Gate”. Lots of beach front property! Could you even have underwater Quaggon like homes—oooh the things i am imagining !!
I mean that empty map between rata and the grove probably was something in GW1 but here it could be used entirely for housing

Black Citadel might have the least amount of space. But i’m thinking on the west side along the narrow cliffs, top to bottom could be reappropriated for housing. Past the trees to the mountains could be filled with kitty cat homes

Small Guild and Guild Hall claming

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Kelly.7019

Kelly.7019

Claiming the hall wouldn’t be my worry, its being able to use it to create scribing decorations and decorate basically your own home. (I prefer uninstanced housing or instanced village communities)

I would imagine the upgrades for a personal hall would be the same as a 500 person guild. This is outrageous! Upgrades should scale based on the number of people in a guild. When more join the guild at a certain threshold, the guild upgrades would become locked again to another threshold of mats to unlock. This process would continue back and forth until it scaled back to the original setting. So people can’t cheat the system.

The main reason i’d want to unlock a personal guild hall would be to decorate it, but the upgrades for 1 person are waaaaaaaaaaaaay to costly.

Open world housing or instanced village communities please

I just want the water dragon!!!

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Kelly.7019

I’ve heard plenty about the other five dragons. I’m interested in this mysterious water dragon.

Also for the possibility of water environment skills, items, interface, ect. all being completed. Right now underwater mechanics are unfinished.

This part of the game needs a lot of attention. Please give underwater some attention and love Devs! You’ve given us the skies. You’ve given us plenty of land-based gameplay. Now it’s time to explore the depths of the oceans and all the types of creatures and things that could be under there!

i want secret areas along the coasts.. underwater sea caves in old maps. Throw a bunch of champ sharks or new “sea monsters” (Krakken, Loch ness with stealth abilities! haha) blocking the entrance that aggro on you if u come close if u get past them there are new adventures inside (mini games or other bosses to fight for kewl loot) yeah they won’t be secret for long, but maybe randomize it or rotate locations weekly?

It just would be fun to swim along the coast cause ya know some like to explore or glitch hunt and stumble across a herd or frenzy of champ sharks that suddenly see an new snack swimming towards them… YOU! lol
I want the feel of “SWIM AWAY! QUICKLY AHHHH! ITS”S GUNNA GET ME HAAALP!" not the current “Oh look a champ . meh.”

Possible New Class/Special new weapon?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Kelly.7019

Kelly.7019

I know alot is going on now. Like the New Kodan Tonic. Its amazing and new feeling to seem like your playing as a new Race and i do hope Kodan do become a race of their own with of course a Personal stories.

NO, We don’t need Kodans, have that tonic and norns already can be bears. MAKE TENGU PLEASE!

But i Noticed that a Brawler/Fighter class could be created as well. What Leads me to this is 2 things in teh game that haves Brawler/Fighter mechanics and abilities.

1. Burrisson The Blue Hero Point challenge located at The Shadowhorns in Wayfarer Foothills. upon accepting his challenge he doesn;t use any weapons against you. Only his Bare fist and Legs

2. The Elite skill Warrior get Rampage. This skill allow for teh User to fight with his Barefist and have a new set of skills that comes with it.
I think in terms of armor classes it would be Heavy armor. Most of the armor i seen in that class seems to fit teh Brawlers/Fighters more. But that is just my opinion XD
I know this might not be enough to get my point across but i do hope Brawler/Fighter happen in In teh world as a playable thing.

If Not some kinda of special class then as a new weapon for for all races and genders can use. I assume “Gauntlets” would be the best weapon for this. Id say possble classes that can use this would be Warriors, Revenants, Guardians, and Engineers.

What do you guys think?

I do like the idea of Brawler/ fighter and new weapons wouldn’t be needed if they could like Ritualists enchant their gloves some how. giving their gloves an additional set of weapon stats.
These enchants could be a skill that the brawler learns or something separate that only an armorsmith & leatherworker make or maybe just an Articifier creates? Different “tonics”(for gloves specifically) would yield masterwork, rare, exotic, ascended stats. A new legendary tonic of special effects? yaaay hehe

Future of GW2 (Hot Spec complaint)

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Kelly.7019

Yes, seems like Desert map BL is what WvW’ers wanted “they asked for a new map with a bunch of different ways to fight others such as more choke points and abilites to defend. Anet threw out a new map no one liked.” kinda funny, though lots of people like myself do love it, but the majority of big zerg spammers don’t like it. i pref roaming to big zergs, and it seems like big zerg want easy, no brainer content then difficult which is the opposite of what they said?? Too bad they couldn’t figure out a way to have gliding in wvw that desert map, that would be awesome with gliding. Of course then people would get shot down like in the bloodfen map b4 they fixed it and kitten about that too probably. I don’t see why that can’t just throw invisibile walls everywhere so people can’t glide over a Keeps wall easily.
I could see a massive vertical wvw map with tons of updrafts and floating islands above and below with things you have to take for points. Gliding in wvw seems like limitless possibilities. If you can glide, target and attack in bloodfen, why not WvW? but looks like that’s never happening.

For end game content fractals, Raids, i’d like to see other possible solo content? If people don’t like waiting around or spending hours in a raid why not difficult solo content that could yield similar rewards.
Now people probs hate questing. and since legendary quests kinda failed big time. i don’t see Questing making any big come back any time soon.
but something similar to archeology or indian jones style solo adventures instead of raiding, hmmmm?

Another idea many want for endgame content that was promised at launch of game but hasn’t happened yet. PERSONAL HOUSING.
I like the idea of “instanced village” housing. kind of a mix of open world(which probs wont happen) and instances but with the ability to show off your home to other people. think of it this way; multiple maps that are dedicated to housing. anyone can enter the different areas, parties are not needed. Portals to these maps in cap cities. People can decorate their homes how every they want , another gold sink(much less then guild decs prefferably) I can already see the circle wall around Divinitys Reach, the houses high up that are unreachable could be broken up into multiple map sections for housing. Styles of house to be built are based on that section of the wall like Salma vs another district. (many possibilites here and this is just for DR) I’ve seen other cap cities that also look like they have space around the edges that could be rezoned into housing spots.
Now depending on size/ amount of players/ they could be instanced by home server, but all you’d have to do is party with some one from another server to visit, you couldn’t build a home there less you transfered. idk. i can see this still being a design problem maybe. but hey MANY many want this!
Community JPS! if you could hop from one home zone to another easily(should be able to)and are friendly with your neighbors you could make a massive village community jp!
The asthetics of designing your own living space would be fun. and being able to bring your nodes there would be great. I already spend hours in the guild hall building things, jps, scavenger hunts, glider obstacle courses: weekly! I could see exploring this more somehow. mindcraft inside gw2?hehe
plus bring back being able to use guild decs in arena areapls. I always thought verticality would be a basic part of the guild arena set up, but that option didn’t seem to be thought about.

There is so much potentially with HoT, but it does seem like those choices were put on the back burner and haven’t been much thought about since.

Map Bonus Rewards needs some kind of notifier

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Kelly.7019

Kelly.7019

So, i finally decided to try this out and actually do events for the sole purpose of getting the map rewards rather then just mapping or doing chieves. I found it quite difficult to figure out how many points i get from an event or even what my points currently are.

Wiki says you get 1,700 points per character before diminishing returns comes in? so if you can only do 17 events- i’d like to see that somewhere so you know when to switch toons. and 8,000 points total per reward track then it resets, but i don’t see this information anywhere ingame.

I know you can look at the world map and hover over the name say “Sparkfly Fen” and see what the “next reward” is which also shows you the “other rewards” for that week. But you get nothing from doing 1 event it seems. This need better notifications or some kind of reward track display like wvw/pvp that changes based on the map you in, or something. This just seem confusing.

>>>>"StonyParrot (on a reddit post mentioned) the way you get bonuses from doing events is quite simple, you get the reward that is listed under “Next Reward” for every other event. On completing the second event, you will get the reward as a drop and it shows on the right side of your screen, even though there is no real notification.

The same applies to Jumping Puzzles. You get the reward upon opening the chest. And it doesn’t matter, what kind of activity you do. You can do 2 events and get a reward, 1 JP and 1 event or two JPs etc.

Note that this activity counter is unique for every map. So if you complete an event in zone A and you move to zone B you still have to complete two activities there to get the reward from map B. If you then go back to map A, you will need to complete 1 event.

Edit: To further clarify, “Other Rewards” shows you the items you can get on the map in this week. Whenever you complete the two activities and get your reward, a next reward is determined out of all the possible rewards from a map (if you add “Other Rewards” to the “Next Reward” you get all possible rewards for a map in a certain week). Lower tier materials seem to have a higher chance than rarer ones, but that needs some more testing to confirm.

Edit 2: And another thing to add is that Hearts don’t seem to count towards the map rewards and that it does not matter, in what tier you finished an event. You get the reward after two events, even if you only got bronze at both."

*This was much better then the wiki, but still a year later (from this post)and there is not much of a notifier ingame to tell you anything about how many points you have.

>>>wait a second, if you have to do 2 events to get 1 map reward then how does the “Guild Map Bonus Boost(gain map bonuses 10% faster)” help you?
hmmmm. confusing still. I still have to do 2 events???

OR is there something ingame i’m just not seeing it?

-Or perhaps some actual craftable snowball piles that u can throw at other players in the guild hall.
-Or maybe downed trees to be used for bridge making would definitely come in handy!
-Snow covered boulders might also be useful.
-Maybe a real bonfire
-I wonder if the devs could make icicles to hang off stuff?
-Or perhaps other lamps/torches/braziers.

I know there are already the tiny xmas trees like we have in our home instance, but i’d like some new forest size trees!

Anyone one have any other ideas from whats already ingame?

Kick from Guild hall

Why can’t people kick from guild hall? Like when someone gets kicked from guild while still in guild hall it doesnt kick them out. There should definitely be a button to kick people from guild hall whether they are in the party or not.

so bASICALLY YOU HAD AN ARGUMENT WITH SOMEBODY AND KICKED THEM THEN FOUND OUT THEY WERE STILL IN HALL AND GOT EVEN MORE MAD? (ooh look caps. sorry, to lazy to re-write. I guess that’s what i get with my awesome looking at the keyboard in order to type skills Oh well… Shouldn’t kick outta spite anyways.

I understand the Black Lion Chest is rng. I’m disappointed that my gf bought 90 keys worth and didn’t get the Grasping Phantom glider and has now given up (only thing she wanted). I only bought 25 keys and got 2 of them.

With the holiday event ending here shortly and chances of getting this exclusive item gone, we love supporting you guys at Anet, probably spend a couple hundred of dollars a month on the gem store but for now we are done with purchases.

i didn’t realize this. i got 1 key from that special promotion and collected 4 keys from mapping like crazy. then opened 5 chests during halloween and got 1 new ghosty glider. I had thought everyone got one from that promotion thing. guess i just had good rng :/ *never have good rng when doing toliet daily for the scepter prec though hehe

Since we are ranting, how about the fact that they removed the moderately-useful boosters, but you still get tomes of knowledge and transmutation charges?!

Remove those stupid tomes and at least bump the transmutation charges to 10, not a measly 1.

I’m so sick of tomes, and I’m so sick of birthday level boosters. I can tell you that those of us that hit the 4 year mark have absolutely no use for a booster that boosts a character to level 40. That’s basically like giving us 40 tomes. I have stacks upon stacks of tomes. I will quite literally never have to level a character to 80 manually again, if I planned to have more characters than the 16 I already have…

Hopefully 5yr+ birthday rewards will skip the useless level booster. Titles, skins, 24hr birthday booster, unique gimmicky items, those are great, keep those coming. But god I can’t stand tomes and those level boosters anymore.

maybe a cool glider skin or outfit or both or perhaps a free character slot?

wouldn’t it be cool if anet made things not soulbound but guildbound? I wonder if you could make a code that would limit gifting to guildies that would of had to already be in the guild for 30 days. just a thought, then yer GF i assume could get your 2nd glider

races by class

I am gonna guess that 97% of the gw2 community is male. Now, let’s talk about the most common races for each class.

warrior : human female

guardian : human female

rev : human female

theif : human female

engineer : human female

ranger : human female

mes : human female

ele : human female

necro : human female

OMFG this is some troll comment and it has 2 pages already.

  1. in case this is not a troll, your guess is most likely WRONG for toons and RL.
  2. I match the class with the sex that i prefer, what looks the best!, any names that work better for the class with a different sex? Unless you are a 10yr old that is playing an online game for the first time you might assume everyone is male. But its 2016 and that kind of thinking for massive online gaming that has been going on for 2 decades now is outdated.

I also much like the previous packs, “an outfit, glider skin,(5) keys, Immortal weapon choice, total makeover kit-meh” only for 2000gems" (valued at 2650) 22%off .
It would be cool if you had the option to not include certain things and auto price adjust! I think more people would be happy. I’d like another option please.

I don’t need or want the dyes, already have the mining pick and really only want the outfit. THIS MAKE ME SAD

then i actually did the event next time , got 15/15 and only got 1 key fragment.

the 3rd time i did the event that day i again got 15/15 but this time got nothing from the event. (See buff in pic below, nothing in bags from event)

seems likes its glitched if you already have 2 key frags that day you are maxed even though it say 3 is the max.

2nd time i did the event i answered all the “mad king says…” questions correctly but still only got 1 key.

WvW is Forced on players crafting legendary!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I find it extremely frustrating that i need to sit in WvW and grind out a reward track for gift of battle.I do not like WvW even a little i have no clue what anet was thinking when they decided to add this im sure most PvE players can agree its absolute crap! just let us buy it with badges or put the track in PvP anything but this.

Some people don’t like PVP and would whine and complain too. Face it, there are 3 modes of game play. PVE, PVP, WVW in order to craft a LEGENDARY you’ll have to do some challenging stuff and probably get your feet wet in a little bit of everything. If you don’t like that, just use exotics or craft a mystic toliet weapon. Heck Asura karma weps are a little flashy/pretty too

OR

shoulda just bought a bunch of gift of battles with badges like i did before HoT was released, much better then now grinding those stupid tracks out to get 1

Next Expansion Suggestions

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Kelly.7019

Kelly.7019

I know alot of people really are hoping for a new race like TENGU or Kodans or that other weird race with butterfly wings? I hope we get one. And i have some ideas that might work well together.

1. [RACE] – The most likely possible addition. Players have been wanting this for a long while. Would have probably fit better with the new profession Reverant imo, but i understand it might not of gone well with the lore. Tengu – i think the wire frame for Charr (or have been told by others) fits the same or is very close and might be easier wrapping all the armor and weps to this model.

2. A new crafting profession [FARMING] – It could require all new “seeds” to plant to level the profession and rare/exotic/ascended would all take longer to grow. Exotic & Ascended could be rare drops from from foraging plants in the Hot maps/ Orr/ and any new maps introduced(or just the new ones? idk) Think of flax fiber from flax plants. Ascended seeds might be rare drops like that or anet could tweak the drop rate.

3. And with the new Farming profession they could add [Ascended CHEF/COOK] to 500! making the food items more valuable on the TP? or having 4 stat combos instead of just 2 and possibly longer times they are active. For instance Ascended (450-500 or 500) could have 4 stats and last 2 hours and possible 5th stat of karma. While new 400-450 would have 4stats but last30 m? (Things to play with.) I know “Farming” might not be the game mode some of the player bas who are solely into combat may want, And i don’t know about Anet plans, but i know i’ve been wanting this for a while, which leads me to my 3rd idea.

4. [PLAYER HOUSING] Anet has never said they were ever going to do this (i know- haters stop here) Because we already have instanced personal homes. Non instanced housing probably is a server issue currently. but since they doubled Scribing objects that can be placed one would figure with maybe different coding and buying another Xpac in order to have non instacnced housing, this problem maybe could be worked out? People want to be able to decorate their own homes not just guild halls. And they’ve wanted this since the release of GW2. Other games have it. Other games had gliding/ flying and eventually in a new Xpac we finally got it too so who knows what is possible. I think a massive game like GW2 is perfect for a bigger sandbox environment.
And with player housing you could have farming on your house plot. Housing could be instanced maps like villages multiple homes together or just zoned maps specifically for housing and minor mobs or things. Instanced by me server possibly? same party rules apply to visit other home servers?

5. [WOODWORKING] (crafting profession for personal housing) to be able to build furniture for your home(might also be for building the home and foundation?). Another crafting discipline that could also sell their goods on the TP (not be soulbound). The game could add all new nodes for this profession or use existing ones.
(woodworking license bought from gemstore if uninstanced housing? who knows how this might be implemented.)

6. [LORE HUNT] an ingame scavenger hunt, lore based fun for people that like to explore maps more and discover new things. They could add sea caves and hidden areas to existing maps for people to discover. Riddles to solve to guide you in the right direction. (I myself have made several scavenger hunts for our guild and could imagine a cross over of questing/archeology of other games/map exploration(players that look for glitches)/Role playing lore/skritts seeking treasure fun! kind of hunt.)

these are all just ideas. I wonder what you all think?

All the mats my guild gets for scribe stuff they send to me and I am currently dedicating 2 FULL PERSONAL BANK TABS to hold all the guild mats and it really kinda sucks.

It could also be given permissions so only certain people can withdraw like normal gbank tabs but everyone can deposit.

Crashes when placing objects in Guild Hall

I’ve noticed since the bloodstone weapon skins patch their seem to be a lot of dc’s/crashes when ever i’m building or placing objects in the guild hall. Everything else seems to be fine as long as i’m not placing objects. But, as soon as i start to build a jp or place several objects in a row i get these periods of constant crashes. I’m not sure if its because of a weird camera angle when placing, toon movement, or what? but it does seem to only happen when im placing objects in the guild hall in a series, one right after the other. I’ve sent many of those error crash reports, but still no clue that i can figure out why this might be happening.

Non Raiders blocked from XP bar spirit shards

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Posted by: Kelly.7019

Kelly.7019

Hopefully with some quality 5 man content similar to these raids

But we have the other thread asking the devs not to develop Fractals like raids

:S yeah which is just stupid. The things that make raids different from old dungeons or fractals is primarily a forced focus on healing, tanking, and non combat mechanics. Things that a year and a half ago were being begged for to combat the zerk meta. They did a great job providing just that.

The ‘raid mechanics’ in Swamp are actually non existent. It’s an increased difficulty in that it’s a ‘do or die’ scenario (dodge or get massive damge, do the wisps in time or massive damage) and really it plays more like old dungeons/fractals than new raids.

Chaos is far closer to raids with it’s large repercussions if you don’t break the bar, a fixation mechanic, and the use of the special action key (hell snowblind is more similar to raids than swamp!).

" being begged for" really? seemed more like people whining about wanting the Holy Trinity in mmos, also in this game and Gw2 was the opposite of that, which is why i liked it. Self reliant on the ability to survive the encounter. It was a good unique fun thing, but apparently gw2 finally sold out to raids.

I wasn’t aware that you had to complete the Raid Masteries to get back to XP gain. Yet another method for Anet to force you to play a game mode whether you want to or not. I’m quickly coming to the decision to leave GW2 over this strong-arming. Shame as I just bought gems. I won’t be foolish enough to do that again seeing how this game is becoming mostly an on-rails experience which I CAN’T STAND.

Yes don’t buy gems (with real cash) if you dislike things about a game you complain over and over about, give reasonable suggestions on, and nothing still happens (not like they are going to do specifically what ever YOU say, but… you get the idea). No matter how pretty something is in the gem store. You are just helping to fund making things worse not better if you do.

I forget the reason why new fractals didn’t happen on release of hot, but even since then almost a year what do we have… 1 yea i said ONE new fractal “Chaos” and several rebooted ones. CHAOS isn’t really new kinda they just took mechanics that were already done and combined them into a new one. Seems partly cheating and depends on how you define “new”.

I predict that another third of players will leave when the desert borderlands come back.

(So far I haven’t been wrong with any predictions – just saying)

Well clearly the majority of WvW community prefers easy content that they can just faceroll thru with zergs. but i’m saying bring desert maps back along side alpine ones and use desert maps as roamer maps. Design it that way. make them smaller maybe, but break up the zerg mentality. That way roamers have a map and Zergs have a map, Id also assume to be on top of the leaders board taking 1 – 2roamer maps would help out a little.

but besides this…

The system currently seems broke from how it used to be 1-1.5 years ago when i was more active in wvw. Maybe its just my server -that i won’t leave because i like my non WvW main guild here. So switching servers or “badwaggoning”/ -linking stuff- only seems to hurt the population on TC WvW. Or maybe alot of WvW’ers have just quit the game? fed up with the disaster of WvW since Hot Launch?

Seems like TC is dead now. When ever i go in at around midnight EST it used to have active guilds running zergs, more and more I’ve seen less commanders on at this time and now about 6-8months later its dead at this time slot? what the heck?

Bring back desert BL as roamer maps alongside Alpine zerg ones.
I got more play with smaller active roamer groups in wvw then i do with empty inactive nobody around apline zerg ones. When ever i logged in at this time there were often different groups of roamers, guilds/pugs that enjoyed DBL. Imo the epic maps were fun and a refreshing change of pace (though obviously looked like gliding was taken out at the last minute). I didn’t mind the new fights and even with a smaller group it was still easy. Plus stumbling across the enemy provided fun team fights that wasn’t dependent on who had larger numbers but who had better skills.

To put it simply i was in the minority pool who liked DBL.

Sinbold.8723:

While the new borderlands are very pretty to look at in some areas (but not others), and have unique towers and tower lords, the main thing people don’t like about them is the maze-like feel and constricting passages, or “choke points”, as well as a complete lack of open space for any type of large scale fighting. Well, I take that back. There IS a large open space, but it’s on top of what used to be knows as “Bay”, now known as Undercroft, or “Fire Keep”, but there’s almost no reason to go there unless you want to take the shrine located there, and it’s not really flat enough for a good fight. In Alpine BL, we had lots and lots of nice flat land to fight in. Even the south towers had a lot of nice flat area in front of them where many battles would be fought, with enemies coming from their spawn point to attack the tower, or on their way to hit Hills or Bay. None of those types of places exist in the new BL’s.

However, my server has been fluctuating between tier 4 and 5, and we see a LOT of action in the desert borderlands. Groups of 5-10 have been trying with mixed success to take the Air and Fire keeps (old Hills and Bay), and because of the sheer size of those keeps, they are sometimes difficult to defend. Larger groups have better chance of success, of course, but if you and 2 others manage to take the Air or Fire keeps while a few are defending it, it’s quite a battle. If more defenders show up, of course, you’ll get stomped. And not all of this action is in “prime time”, which is nice.

see -great roamer maps

I know something big happened, but it doesn’t seemed like it helped at all, just hurt WvW.
