Complete disregard of Guild organization features. I.e. guild panel info & options.
(And I DON’T want some stupid API. I want a functioning guild panel >.<)The ability to be in multiple guilds. Worst idea I’ve ever come across in an mmo. Completely strips guilds of any sense of community & loyalty. Also, makes it 100xs more difficult for 100% rep guilds to build a desired environment AND keep track of it at the same time… call me old fashioned if u must >.>
Terribad UI options. I should be able to move AND size everything on my screen….
incredibly unrewarding loot
And your guildies still love you <3

I understand that Account Restoration has to do with “Snapshots” of an account, that were taken before accounts have been hacked and/or compromised. I also understand that any progress after that snapshot will be lost, along with any possible items gained.
I’m more than willing to go with the snapshot.
It’s the weekend guys. It’s the weekend. They’re not all in the office in the weekend.
Ah, when they brought us “Celestial weapons”…and I immediately was reminded of my Celestial Bow from the original Guild Wars. Turns out it was Celestial Stats, not Celestial skin.
I really do miss that bow…
I main on ranger. One time our group was having a hard time in a dungeon and they had me switch to ele…so I could summon an Ice Bow…can you guess which dungeon where you need an ele with an Ice Bow is for?
The idea of an Alt was to use them, for those unexpected events or situations that you didn’t plan for.
Hence why I had ten level 20 characters in the original Guild Wars, with all the primary skills of each profession + all locations unlocked on each and every last one of them. Why? Well, for whatever was needed, wherever it needed to be.
Same thing in Guild Wars 2 for me. Just…taking a lot longer.
I really do miss my Marhann Grotto druid armor from time to time.
Try to think of tickets as mail packages. Accept prompt service within 3-7 business days. Business days usually do not include Saturday and Sunday. And also treat it like a meal line. First come, first serve.
So, first come, first served and 3 to 7 business days.
If you look at history, what was going to do more damage to you, a two handed sword with more weight to it, or a light cutlass or foil? The kitten things were known to cleave men in two, overhand style.
kitten I kinda hate that I’m defending a corporation or company on any level, but yah, it’s just one of those really stupid things that every business does. The “how do we respond publically to this issue.” They probably want to hit us up with as much information at the same time, instead of piecemeal.
I mean if the information of who, what, why, how, and when came at you in a jumbled mess, you’d still be clamoring for all the rest of the information, and yelling even loader, thinking that they didn’t hear you.
So, chances are they are putting together of the what, when, how, who. The only answer you may not get to this entire situation is why. Why would someone go around trying to muck about disrupting a Cloud server. Well this particular cloud server runs security, and most crackers will do it for two reasons. One reason is the prestige. The whole one upmanship is a big deal to some circles. The second reason would be slight of hand. Disrupt and snatch. You see the one hand disrupting, but you didn’t see the other hand do a snatch. And usually the snatch is profit oriented. Of course that is the one question arenanet isn’t going to be able to answer, when they finally do make a statement.
Well you could make the sword a giant slab of beef ribs. The bones would make the greatsword almost jagged edge looking.
+1
Well you’ll definitely get an apology about the disruption, and of the cloud server attack. That has already hit the internet news relays from here to Timbuktu. And since everyone is talking about it, it’s something that just can’t quietly go away.
In which case, I’m sure the FBI would need an unlimited supply of poptarts in order to keep going in their crucial investigative work.
Remember, poptarts are the fuel of any investigative work, so make sure you send a box to Arenanet and the FBI.
Just means, they’re waiting word from the cloud server and/or law enforcement. You’ll probably see a statement Monday morning. It’ll go along the lines of, “Hello fellow community members and players: As you may be now aware that a certain situation has arisen. We have ascertained on such a date an event occurred. We would like to take this moment to apologize for last weeks inconvenience. We are working very closely with our security interests and/or law enforcement in this matter. We will share with you any information as it becomes available….”
So on, and so on. That they havn’t made a response yet, doesn’t mean they are going to refuse to respond. I’m sure they had one hell of atypical disruption of their normal business operations.
I played the original Guild Wars for 7 years. I been playing Guild Wars 2 since Beta. I don’t think I’m going to quit any time soon. I luvs my Guild Wars.
Is not level 80 enough?
https://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Infinity-Speed-Connection/BT-throttling-online-games-guild-wars-2-all-the-sudden/td-p/1167348/page/2 this could be a lot to do with it.
Yes it could, and swiflty going over some of the data it confirms what I have been saying (and others with more knowledge bout this issue), but as said, the place to discuss this is the technical support forum.
(actually I’m a network engineer, but only cause of my education, I never practised it, I know it is showing it, but giving credit to the people who actually found it, and it does belong in a different spot
)
Well as long as your not from India and you have a checklist in front of you, and when you reach the end of the check list you say, “I am being very sorry sir, but I do not be knowing what your problem is. Have you tried wiggling the higgly switch”
Well at least they made the XP level up the same. Try leveling up in Aion and see how long it takes you to just quit.
Frostgorge champ farm.
Your nuts. Level 80 is just fine for me.
MMmmmm give me Marhann’s Grotto Druid armor….ohyah.
:p Thpppppt (We call this method the Raspberry effect.)
One thing I learned with companies, working for one myself, is that they have to have their little board meetings in order to talk about their so called “response”.
Right now, I have no doubt Arenanet has been dealing with their “subcontractor” on this whole security issue. After that comes to, “what sort of damage was done to our own business model.” Namely the affected players.
And then comes, “What’s our official policy on this matter.” Since they probably DID not have an official policy on this matter. This takes brain storming. I’m sure they were sitting around a nice oak table, or a really ugly table, throwing ideas back and forth. I’m also sure their own Security management team manager was in the room with them, on the whole security matter of their own system.
After all is said and done, they will have come to a “Response” situational report. Usually this is a stupid MEMO, which is passed around to their workers about “Confidential information”. What occurred. What to do if people start asking you questions. Who to properly direct those questions to, and not to answer any reporters. Officially it’s all, “No comment.”
Now after this memo has circulated about security concerns, and what one is expected to not talk about publically, you still have the matter of how much the company wishes to divulge to the general public. The “Response”.
It’s going to go two ways. Since the attack wasn’t directed towards Arenanet itself, all the response would be to let the Subcontractor deal with the media problem, and all their affected business customers and interests.
Or….they’ll issue a general apology, the situation as it stands, who was involved, and any and all actions taken or to be taken.
However, this is usually done after the weekend, after everyone catches their breath.
If at any time Law Enforcement was brought in, on this subject matter, then you have a slight wrench in the works, because then…you have a Gag order not to discuss the matter in any relationship to any and all affected party’s. Because now it’s an “Ongoing criminal investigation.”
Next week should be quite interesting. Tune in next week. Same Lions Arch time, same Lions Arch channel.
Yah, but I read the story, and even McAffee, At&T, and Sysmantec told them exactly what to do to patch the kitten thing.
Even with the information given, the attacks are still occurring against Cloudflare.
They’re game designers, not internet CSI, NSA, FBI crime solvers.
Tips. Never make a deal with a dragon, never play pool at a place called Pop’s, and never eat food at a place named Mom’s.
Oh, that happened to you in the new Edge of the Mists….
Lol….ummm…you need to check the world buffs you can gain in that area.
Being a one shot cannon is not my idea of best play. If the sucker is glass, then if that guy had an extra buddy, then the ranger could have been easily targeted first. Then you’d have two downed corpses, and two guys still facing each other.
I can understand why it’s not in high use.
Now that would be cool.
I use to login during lunch time, and head into the map that was most controlled by our side. Actually completed mappage of WvW last week on my Ele in two days. I don’t think the enemies heart was in it that week.
Would like another flower back item. Maybe bluebells with the old Henge of Denravi glow back from the original Guild Wars. Or maybe sprinkling pollen as you run about. Liked how some of the plants from old original Maguuma would just glow.
Know when to fight and when not to fight.
Know the terrain.
Know your enemy, and know yourself.
If you have this knowledge you will be victorious.
Yes, i had the idea that i was going to full line critical…and found that the boost, just wasn’t there, wasn’t helping me. And then I slapped on a couple of Torment sigils on my weapons, and since those weapon skills already do a massive amount of condition…I almost wish i went Condition Damage on my ascended armor. Still, live and learn, and forge on.
Of course….having your entire team focus on an outside source where the attack took place, vs. the damage that’s being done in your own business backyard, is not the best path to take either.
No, but if the stock took a tumble due to criminal acts, the criminal is looking at $millions or $billions of damage, especially if it cascades. Most publically traded and private business will NOT fess up to security breaches.
Unfortunately the longer you take to fess up to a data breach, or problem, the larger the damage becomes. Look what happened to Target.
Of course reading up on Cloudflare and what happened to their systems in 2012, 2013, and this week…apparently they get more than their fair share of hackers attacks, and it doesn’t really fill me with confidance.

I think arenanet used a few ideas from the original game and put it into Guild Wars 2, because it was a tried and true method.
Same thing here. Already sent in a ticket, myself. Your not alone.
The name must be in perfect unison. Some players will use certain characters to confuse people in game. This tactic was usually used in the original Guild Wars to keep other players from reporting on them, since you had to type the name EXACTLY as seen. Lots of small letter l’s(El) and capital I’s(Eye). Used to be one guy that used nothing but L’s and I’s in his name so people couldn’t report him.
Chances are it’s a capital or lower case problem. And you have to type the name exact for the deletion Option to function.
This is a holdover from the original Guild Wars during Jade Quarry and Fort Aspenwood battles. During the battle, one side would send players to the other side and pretend to be part of the team, once they entered battle they would immediately logout of battle or map out. This would leave a full enemy team on the field, while you could only field just a few.
The Dishonorable was added to keep enemy players from abusing the combat system, so both sides could field an equal number of people.
Unfortunately if you Disconnect, it’s programmed to view that as a Map Out and you get hit with a point of Dishonorable. So many points and….well you get the idea.
Apparently there’s a spot further down that I noticed that shows 4 lines of choices, and you have to click on one of the four for it to work. There is the drop down above which I’m sure was supposed to take care of the issue…but it appears everything is still linked to the four choices further below.
Actually, It wouldn’t allow me to access my account at all. My password was GONE, and is now listed as part of the mega-list for passwords which can not be used again. I had to reset my account, get very inventive with a new password. I was able to login for 10 seconds, and noticed that my warrior was missing her armor, my necro and my elementalist were both wearing street clothes, and that’s NOT how I left them last night.
After that I got a server error stating there maybe a firewall in place.
Logged into Guildwars 1….had quite a number of people show up there saying they couldn’t get into Guildwars 2. Plus, there was massive Crashing, Rubberbanding, and Lag in Guildwars 1.
Whatever is going on, it’s the entire server network.
People are having to reset their accounts, and they’re scrambling to find their game codes, because they can’t even access the FORUMS.

Mine is a very light leafy green, but I understand the statement of certain colors. Many players when they login, usually see the green/brown variety as set down during character Creation. What many don’t realize is the color charts can be chosen then lightened or darkened accordingly, through slight bar interaction. (Not talking about the glow slide bar.)
I have seen medium to cool colors. Green’s, brown’s, blue’s, white’s, and variations of there. But rarely have I seen that many orange, yellow’s, reds, the truly warm colors. About the only time I do see warm colors is usually in the glow portion. I think if the Dev’s started more options of flowering or fern like hair more, we might see a pattern towards warmer colors in the skin tone. Because we usually design our facial/hair around our own skin tone, and/or vice versa.
Utility Skill: Entangle.
Only wish I have is for it to work underwater.

Alternative Scenario: ANet looks at the class and says “Oh no! We’ve nerfed build variety and most survival traits lie in SA! Let’s buff Acro so so there’s some choice in terms of building defensively!”
In all honesty, SA IV and VI will probably be given an icd/have the icd increased, regardless of the fact that decreasing the effectiveness of blind on stealth would make D/P the clearly superior choice. ANet lately (for thieves) has the tendency to nerf the good traits to bring them down to the level of meh/bad traits.
They want you to be frugal with the trait or skill. More brain, less brawn. They want you think, “is this a good second to use the skill, or should I hold it in reserve.”
PvE, PvP, Spvp, Tpvp, WvW…..really? With the anocronyms. When anet focuses on one area, that change to skills will effect all the rest.
All I’m reading in every single post is Stealth this and stealth that. And if that’s all a thief is good for, then your good for nothing else.
In general group play beside being an excellent partner to those who drop combo fields this is rather close to the truth. Speaking honestly how is this our fault? That is the design of the class. Everything else is general DPS (A role fulfilled by any class). I think many thieves at this point are rolling with the punches and trying to keep what they invested in relevant vs quitting.
You see right there, “excellent partner”. They’re bringing something to the group, I can understand that. But if the only build is going to be “you perma-stealthed, if not GTFO”, then that’s not OP. That’s everyone expecting only ONE type of play from the thief, and if the only thing everyone is going to run, then yah, your going to get nerfed. Expect it. It’s not an IF, it’s a WHEN.
Let’s use for an example a pretend World Event. We’ll call this event, Wild Magic. This particular wild magic, on a daily basis will lock one, or more skills from your bar, and it’s Skill specific.
What do you have besides Perma-Stealth, to deal with that? All I’m going to see is a bunch of kittening and complaining that the person in question couldn’t keep fully stealthed, and didn’t have any other build/choices to fall back on.
What does a thief fall back on, when it can’t perma-stealth? Variety is the spice of life. What variety do you have, that would focus attention onto something…different.
I usually run the good old fashioned melandru stalker for the buff. I havn’t had a single complaint on buffs if I’m in a party. And second pet is either juvenile wolf, or Hound. Either I can fear the enemy, allowing my buddies/allies to rally and give breathing room, or with the Hound I will root the enemy to the spot. And if you go hound, you put in Entangle, and if the enemy breaks the bonds from hound, you entangle, and the enemy might not have any more stun/breaks to use up allowing us to finish them off.
I’m well aware of the use of each pet. I seen quite a few fire drake teams in a zerg that turned a lords room into a scene from Apocolypse now with flames licking the enemy in every single direction. The one vid of two dozen rangers running hyena was…hate to say very very very funny. Would have loved to have been on the opposing team just to hear their comments/confusion/ or outright fear.
I don’t run thief that often. Although playing Guildwars 1 for nearly seven years, and Guildwars 2 since beta I can tell you one thing.
The more overused a specific combo becomes, the greater increase of a possible nerf to that combo.
I’m talking to every thief on every server now. You need to come up with some new combo’s or Anet is going to take one big long hard look at what the majority of players are running. You want a nerf, your going to get one, if you can’t come up with other possible uses for the thief.
If all everyone is doing is asking how to perma-stealth, you think anet is gonna lay back on that and let it go? You already shot yourself in the foot for your own profession. You have something good that doesn’t deal with stealth? Post it. All I’m reading in every single post is Stealth this and stealth that. And if that’s all a thief is good for, then your good for nothing else.
Rangers that don’t care for their own profession type weapon. Says a lot. I have Kudzu. I’m happy with it. Might work on getting a sword and dagger ensemble in legendary, but I’m not going to kill myself over it. A few rangers went for Dreamer, but only because they enjoyed shooting the enemy with flying unicorns.
Chances are everyone wants to name their pet “Fluffy”. And tens of thousands of players would be heartbroken, because they were really set on their pet being named Fluffy. I don’t mind. I just make sure to if I switch out pets, that I name them before I head into combat. It bugs some people, and others it’s just a distraction before heading out into combat. To me, it’s a meh event.
Meh, must change pet name to what I had before. Not to worried about it, because it’s not a “critical” action or fix to deal with at the moment.
