Guild Wars 2

Hi, me and my friend are looking for a large ish guild on Gandara that does a bit of everything really, so If I want to do some dungeons there is people that run them, or we want to do some WvW there is people who do that.

Because we’ve been in a guild or 2 that says oh we do X and Y but when you join the guild it’s dead :/

Also, no team speak or vent requirement please, I don’t exactly want to be forced onto a chat service when I’m just looking for a couple dungeon runs or when I want a bit of fun in PvP.

Hi, now that I can finally change gender, I’m happy, but is the change with the total make over kit permanent? Because the change was awfully cheap compared to every other mmo that I’ve played, and in changed my looks effortlessly in game.

Can any one clear this up for me?

The “let’s focus on the worst, and assume the worst” mindset is getting a bit silly.

I was away from this game, because well, it’s lack luster. Thought this event was going to pull me back in, but all the hate for this event exists for a reason. My friend told me to not bother with it, because it’s a waste of time, poorly done, and boring. I’m not gong to waste my time playing through lag, DC’s, bugs etc.

They told everyone to show up at X time or you miss it because it’s only a 3 day thing! What did they think was going to happen when most of the players who are interested in playing it show up in one location?

I have been away from Gw2 for a long time now, and I was hoping that this event was going to pull me back in, but my friend told me how bad, and how stupid this event is, I didn’t even bother to log in for it.

Because I really want to spend my time off from work, auto attacking some stupid crab thing for 20 mins, while trying to play through some ridiculous lag, DC’s, and bugs. And even if I can manage to stay online long enough to do it, it’s a big brain dead zerg, how is this, in anyway “content”?

I have read to much negative feedback about it, this game seems like such a waste of time now.

This would have been such a clutch time to get new people playing, what a sour taste this mess would have left. I’m glad I didn’t waste my time on this.

I believe devs already stated an intent on this. I think they wanted to have one inexpensive item for casually changing your hair, and another item for a full body makeover. I’m pretty sure they said “even your gender”. Though keep your hopes realistic, it is very likely to be a gem item.

I don’t mind paying for the change, I just want to change my character, if things like world completion’s progress was cross character somehow, I might have rerolled a new race or something, because screw redoing all my world completion xD

Hi, I’m a Norn male, with the largest body option, and I now severely regret it.
And for what ever reason I’ve grown sick of being a Norn male, I’m not entirely concerned about changing race, but just the ability to swap to a female Norn would be good.

That way I can play a Norn, and not be this stupidly big hulk of muscle.

I’m only level 6o something, so does that mean I’m going to miss any of the upcoming content because of it?

The damage is OP, but it’s so incredibly easy to counter….and the Warrior’s that run that build can be defeated by a strong wind…let alone a player xD

I made my norn as big as I could, I’m a Warrior, and Norn and large by default, so only made sense really from a lore point of view.

Just as I thought, sigh, It kind of put me in a down mood while leveling, seeing the Charr with these forts etc, and all I see is Norn hunters running around……what the Norn contribute to the combined effort of these 5 races is beginning to seem….rather lackluster, like, why are they even in the war effort to begin with? They don’t seem to do anything or have anything to back the others up.

I guess they could act as scouts, assassins, or heavy front line troops, but that’s nothing compared to a human army marching forward, or the Charr just leveling the area to dust with bombs….

Me, as a lore nerd am at the moment, disappointed at the apparent lack of contribution, and the ability to actually do anything meaningful from the Slyvari and Norn. :/

I really like it, just because of the weapon choices you can make.

I’ve gone from using a GS/rifle, to a GS/bow to rifle/sword n’ board to now using mace-sword/rifle. With loads of other combos in between, it’s great! By the time you’re sick of a certain set up, you got many, many more to choose from! <3 it

Hi, I was thinking that, how strong as a race is each playable race? Because I think everyone has seen the Charr forts with turrets, and their tanks, guns, they got a proper armed army etc, and I play Norn…..and so far the only thing that I have seen is that they are physically strong, and are great hunters, they don’t seem to have anything going for them at all, same with the Slyvari.

The humans are similar to the charr, they got a proper army and everything, and the asura got their golems, lasers etc.

Is there more to the norn and slyvari that I have not come across or don’t know about? They seem weak in comparison.

Like I would race change right now If I could. But, due to being a bit of a slow leveler, and not wanting to reroll a new class, I’m stuck as a Norn. Which is really frustrating to be honest.

You work for the looks, not a stat upgrade.

I then think you’re underestimating, I know when I played WoW, people race changed all the time. I played on several characters across different realms, and quite often I would go “wait, wasn’t he a Dwarf a few days ago?” etc. Besides, if they are going to add character changes, then it seems really silly they don’t just do race change aswell.

It’s a personal story, you can easily work around it, you’re changing a race, not toying around with the fabric of space lol.

What if you race changed after your initial personal story, but before you selected which lesser race you wanted to help? Seeing as how your race decides those three choices, that could be a problem. Making you have to go back and play the first set would work, but would feel a bit like punishment to go backwards. Making you simply skip future events is an equally punishing idea.

So how about no on that. End of story.

As for the anatomical engineer showing up to give makeovers… that wouldn’t hurt at all, and will probably be implemented at some point.

You also have to look at this from a business perspective, Anet will most likely make heaps from a race change feature if they slapped a nice price tag with it, because don’t forget, they are a company.
I would assume that the amount of money that they can make from such a feature down the line will be in their interests no doubt, the profits that could be made from such a feature will surely eclipse any initial investments to get it up and running.

And I do hope race change comes one day, and besides, that must be a ALOT of money arena net are missing out on, the profit to expense to make it work must be immense, would be really silly if they never added it in in my opinion.

Character appearance change is coming. Race change will most likely never show up given it would reset a lot more than just your race.

What will it reset exactly? Sorry for the idiotic question, but I’m only level 50, and haven’t really been paying attention to what’s what, I’ve just been running around and enjoying this wonderful game

Hi, I would really like to see the addition of race change, and/or the ability to basically remake the way your character looks, so gender change, body size change etc.

I know people have said well race change is iffy due to personal story, but there can be 2 ways around this:

1. The race change is expensive and comes with the ability to do your new chosen races story or something.

2. Just have all choices in the story that revolves around your race pickable, so like you makes the choices, but you don’t follow through with it and actually play the choices, so it will all be on paper, in other words.

Hi, me and my friends are LF a nice decent guild, with leadership and regular events such as nights of hanging out in WvW, dungeon farming, tournament PvP etc.

We would also like a balance realm, because on of my friends want’s PvE, so he’s going to want an active world for this, so Orr isn’t a little empty, or a small amount of people doing dungeons, world completion and everything of that type.

I want the above also, but I also quite enjoy PvP, so a guild on a realm that often does PvP together, both casual and competitive 5v5, with some chilled WvW would be great.

Asking for a guild like this on a good world might be hard to come by, but might aswell ask!

Some quick info on us, we’re both from the UK, I currently main a Warrior, (lvl 34) and my mate plays an Engineer (lvl 80)

So if you can offer us a place in a guild, that you think we would like then by all means leave a bit of info

I’ve been playing a lot of Engineer and Guardian in Spvp, went back to my Warrior for PvE and was planning on having my Warrior take over the Engineer and Guardian for my PvP main aswell. Oh well :/ At least my Guardian shares the same armour class, so if I get any cool gear my Warrior can also use it

Ah, I’m currently having this problem. I’m in my 2nd zone, and I’m doing most of what I can find and I’m still underleveled, I’m kind of forced into using a Rifle with bolas (playing Warrior) because I can’t melee mobs due to level difference.

It’s becoming annoying :/

Has there been any mention of this coming to gw2 someday? I kinda don’t like my characters name anymore, and would love to change it, and the only way I can is by restarting again….which I really don’t want to :/

Ah ok, cool. I hope they fix this, yes it is a minor issue, but it’s really odd and annoying. It just makes me go >:( when I’m flicking through my characters!

Why is my Charr so zoomed in on the character selection screen, I go from my largest possible bodied Norn, who fits the screen decently, to my Charr, who is smaller than my Norn, but takes up more of the screen.

Am I the only one who noticed this lol? I find it really weird that it randomly goes all zoomed in on the Charr race, my head just clips the top of the screen and it gets annoying seeing it! :S

Hi, I have just rolled an Engineer, got to level 6 and thought I would do some PvP, I had a look around for builds etc, went into some sPvP and I get hammered, ofcourse my in experience as this proff is most likely why I’m doing so bad, but I thought well, due to the ability to PvP as early as level 1 then surely I’m going to run into a fair amount of people like me, so I’m not exactly going to be 1v1’ing many veterans or anything, but I couldn’t for the life of me do anything!

My damage felt alot weaker than what I’m taking in return etc

So my question is, Engineer: Yay, or nay for PvP?

If yay, what builds are meant to be good if you know of any, and what roles do Engineers do well in PvP, like roaming, support etc

All the really active servers are constantly full. Good luck transferring onto any of them. PvP will never be balanced. The servers are just too out of whack for PvP to be balanced. One server will always dominate, one server will always lose to the point nobody wants to play WvW, and one will be in the middle. There will never be a 3 way close race in PvP that makes it fun for all(or any) parties involved.

However, I would get off any “medium” population servers to at least a high one before the server transfers end, because those medium pop servers are going to ghost towns in a month.

I know that things are currently in motion, because of people shifting around (I my self have moved around 4-5 times so far) but I’m hoping that some servers have started to shine because of guild alliances that are driving the higher end PvE and PvP, with some ok WvW (I’d imagine being on a poor server for WvW if you enjoy it must be pretty bad)

My warcraft server was terrible, very few decent PvE guilds with non existent good end PvP, the PvP community of the realm was on average 1700 rated MAX now, if you have played WoW you would know that 1700 is generally considered really poor to say the least, and now I’ve moved over to this game from WoW, I want to make sure me and my friends are actually on a decent server

Hi! At the moment I’m looking for a balanced world, not one that is exactly absolute 100% beast at a type of play, eg WvW or anything, just a world that is actually some what decent.

I’m currently on Ring of Fire EU, and I have yet to really see -any- posts in chat about people LF others to do tournament PvP with or find people to do hardmode dungeons to farm the gear or to get proper organized groups for, and the worlds WvW, well last few times I checked how we were doing it was pretty bad to say the least :/

So has anyone been lucky enough to choose a -decent- world that is roughly balanced in the 3 main aspects of this game?

What I’m asking is probably to early to happen due to new players coming in and with free transfers up I’d imagine there is a lot of shifting going on, but I actually want to be able to log on when I’m max level and got some what good at the game to be able to find people for PvE and tournaments, and to actually do well! I was on a poor realm in world of warcraft (to many friends on the realm etc, leaving wasn’t really an option) and I refuse to be on a bad realm again!

Anyway, sorry for the massive wall of text, I haven’t been to bed yet and I suspect I’ve rambled a bit ^.
