You’ve some how made this games matchmaking worse than it was pre-patch.

1st match, 500-0 on Courtyard.

2nd game was…weird. I was capable of winning 2v1 at far, but my team? Slaughtered 3v4. Just…

3rd game? 500-50, my team is a all soloq, get put against a team that is half premade.

3 matches in and I honestly don’t feel like queing at all.

So we’re currently fighting an elder dragon as one of the supposedly most powerful races, but how powerful are the races though? I was just reading is Humanity too weak? thread and something on Reddit about the Charr contribution to this current war effort, which is on top of all the other wars the Charr are currently engaged in.

So I was thinking, like could the Asura field a sizeable army of golems, or massive magitech warmachines, or use their intellect to I guess genetically modify themselves or something to greatly boost their physical stature?

And are norn really as pitiful as a race as they seem to be when it comes to large scale warfare? Are they really as powerful as they claim to be in small scale engagements?

So on, so forth.

One scenario could be that the races had a 5 way war, which would end in extinction if they lost : O who would realistically be last race standing? I don’t know >_<

Just interested in what the races could really manage to do if they was pushed to the limit.

I didn’t play Gw2 for like 3 days, and in my first game I did do today, I knew 4 players in that game.

How sad is that? And I’ve now played 4 matches, I knew like 3-5 people IN EVERY SINGLE ONE, after a few days off.

It honestly makes me want to just stop logging on, that it’s the SAME FREAKING PEOPLE ALL DAY EVERY DAY in soloq. It’s boring, not fun, it’s lame and annoying.

This, coupled with dc’s and absolutely horrendous matchmaking (my last match was 500-90 ish or something) just really does make me want to say I’ve had enough, and change mmorpg :/

Edit: In 5th game now, know of 5 of the players, my team being horribly stomped, gg, yet again.

Who the hell designed this?

How do people with the same mmr have such huge skill differences?

I’ve had days where ques are almost instant each game for 15 straight, and every game it’s a stomp 500-100.

This games PvP is a mode of extremes, everything is so one sided, you lose 3 ranked games in a row and your rank plummets into the dark abyss, you win a few in a row and you sky rocket into the golden heavens.

I seriously don’t understand why it is almost always one side dominant, in the games themselves and the rankings you receive afterwards.

It’s so silly.

How does the matchmaking work? Because when ques start to get long, I lose more games. And when I history search my team mates which I often do to see the sort of people I’ve got, they 9 out of 10 times turn out to be new to the game, or with horrible win/loss ratios with a low rank. Does my rating get used to bolster the teams overall mmr or something in soloq? To even it out with the enemy’s team who normally tend to be a higher quality than mine.

And no this is not me saying omg I’m so unlucky! : < I do mean when ques get long, like 7 mins plus.

I’m probably going to end up with the dis honorable debuff now, or very soon because I left another game. Why?

Because it was 4v5. I’m sick and tired of getting teams with afkers and 4v5 matches, I see the score at 300 to 50 so often I end up just closing down the game as a result as they are way too frequent.

It’s pushing me more and more into just not playing anymore, this is honestly ridiculous.

6 months to add a ready now button upon que pop, if you don’t accept the game wont start and you’re kicked out of the que.

How, HOW can it take OVER SIX FREAKING MONTHS to add something so incredibly simple?

It’s mindblowing at how a AAA mmo can utterly fail at such basic features that most games have by default, whilst we here at Gw2 have to borderline freaking crusade to get something, anything done that should be fixed regardless of public outcry. LOL

Ofcourse this games PvP is dead. Literally everything about SPvP in this game is terrible except for the combat.

One game mode, really? That promotes skill less aoe spam and tanks playing a silly king of the hill mini game.

The rewards being freaking awful, we have one, ONE armor set that is PvP unique, LOL. The reward tracks are horrific, just loot boxes full of absolutely useless junk.

Balance – Need anything be said on this?

Matchmaking, yeah never seen anything this bad in a game with a ranked mode, pretty much ever. It’s mindblowing in the skill ranges of players in one single game. Matching high end rank 1-10 players against people who can’t even break onto the leaderboards or completely new players? Seriously? Most matches I play are complete blow outs. 500-200 games all the freaking time, it’s no fun, it’s not competitive, soloq is nothing but a giant gamble when you hit that join now button, your gambling on who gets 4v5 or the ‘stacked’ team, seeming most games are stomp fests.

And the 4v5s, don’t even get me started. Soloq has been in the game for how long now? And over 6 months ago a dev commented they was working on way to solve this. SIX MONTHS, and they CAN’T ADD A READY BUTTON UPON QUE POP, LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

If RF is used in the open, like randomly in WvW I guess I could see a problem with it maybe.

But in sPvP I really don’t see RF being that big of a deal at all, like seriously.

The LoS that many of the nodes have is more than enough to avoid most of the RF burst. I think maybe the damage is leaning on the too high end I guess. But I don’t find it much of a problem at all.

Anet plans to counter the nerf?

The nerf would be resoanable if ele / engi were not god mode. Warrior looks weak because those 2 are too strong , against other classes it seems balanced .

If they won’t balance engi/ ele they need to revert warrior and thief nerf,otherwise its just not fair.

How is this matchmaking in anyway fun? 4v5s plague the dam place, or the matches are often in such a huge landslide it’s ridiculous.

I’m almost had enough of the incredibly frequent dc’s that this game makes players endure.

Just had yet another 4v5. Been in games with the opposing team having a missing member tonight. It’s the same every day.

Seeing almost entire teams dcing on streams.

It’s quite disgusting how a triple a mmo can’t some how manage to keep their own infrastructure stable .

If you have a shield equipped as an engineer with a back pack skin on show if you unstow your shield the skin appears on the shield and not on your back. Then it ports back onto your back in its normal place.

I have added a screenshot incase you don’t understand what I’m trying to explain.

After it appears glitched on/into your shield, after a second or 2 it reappears into the normal place.

This fight is seriously easy along with the achievements tied to it.

I did all 3 first time with literally almost no effort on my part.

The mechanics of it are so simple and easy to work around it’s insane for me to grasp that people are legitimately struggling or struggled with it.

You don’t even need to dodge most of the telegraphs, I read comments on how people seem to think that the ones calling it easy are people playing on classes who have access to vigor, well funny, because I pretty much just walked out of the telegraphs, and only really dodged the massive aoe attack for that achievement.

If you are a player who seriously is having a hard time with it, then you should in all honesty consider how skilled you are as a player or with the class you are using, because this should in my opinion take someone no more than a couple tries including warm ups.

I find this change mind boggling, the burst skills are already over the top easy to see and dodge, I really don’t get how punishing them for missing which happens all the time due to the frequent random dodges from vigor classes, random blinds etc on top of the hugely telegraphed skills makes any sense at all.

They don’t need to wait and collect data.

They are being told what is wrong with their game, each and every single day of the week.

By players of all skill ranges.

If they are being told for the 1000th time that X is clearly OP by top players and people from the lower ratings, I seriously doubt they need to sit around in an office for hours collecting information on what they already know.

Besides, the games balance is so out of whack the balance team could all hop in a custom arena and figure out what’s too good and awful within the hour if they possess any common sense and logic.

IP can be accidently procced on wrong target.

The AA is pathetic, if anything like people have said the IP damage evens out with other classes AA’s probably.

And it can be cleansed.

I wish I could cleanse air/fire procs from a thief for example <_<

I actually love reading these threads.

It seems like something is only a problem worth complaining about if a warrior is doing it.

This isn’t on topic but thief being able to disengage really well? Ok no problem, warrior can disengage? It’s a problem.

Condi thief being immortal killing machines 1v1? Oh they are annoying, but oh well. Terrormancers one shotting squishes in a fear chain? Oh well. But a condi warrior doing something similar? Needs to be beaten with the nerf bat.

I think they are stalling for what ever reason as well with the balance previews now.

Isn’t it basically evened out to be 1 class a week? Seeming it’s what, 2 classes every 2 weeks?

So 2 months to just get through the previews.

If I’m correct, we’ve waited this long for changes then it takes you another 2 months to just preview what you’re going to do. And then you’ve actually got to implement the changes which is no doubt going to be even longer after that.

It’s kind of sad really that it takes this long. What does the people who work on balance do in their 9-5 job? I seriously don’t understand how the pacing of balance is so horribly slow.

I really don’t think I’ve ever, not once popped into your stream and not seen you solo that same dungeon.

I gather you like soloing it for the enjoyment as it’s challenging, but how does doing from what I’ve seen, the same 4 paths over and over not get boring? o.o

Of course Warriors need mobility, but with their currnt amount of damage and tankyness its too much mobility. When you have to kite a Warrior around like crazy and struggle to keep him at range because of various soft-CC-reductions – literally for hours – then its too much mobility. And going melee is nearly impossible as well. Because if you kitten up one single time once he´s in melee range, you are probably dead or extremely injured, while the warrior can make a lot more mistakes. Thus its only fair to reduce the extreme mobility or to reduce the extreme damage while keeping their tankiness.

You are aware that soft cc as in slows being very poor against warriors comes from the -40% condition duration food? Dogged march is roughly fine on it’s own.

Describing general warrior mobility as extreme is rather foolish, and a warrior that is built purely for this extreme mobility is no threat to anybody, sure you can’t kill them because they frog leap away, but they can’t kill you either.

Warrior damage could take a hit I guess, that’s understandable, but on the flip side, and this is an age old argument but literally everything on a warrior is so easy to dodge it’s crazy. So then if it’s not some what punishing being hit by such massively easy to see and react to skills then, well warriors would be almost worthless no?

But in general I do think warrior damage needs toning down, it should be a little pushing eating an evis or a hammer stun combo, but when it’s so punishing that one slip up with no stun break results in death or losing 75% of your HP it’s is silly.

I actually would just like to see 3 changes to warriors:

1. Reduce the damage on eviscerate
2. Do not allow warriors to contest or cap points when under the effects of endure pain
3. Everyone knows, except for the guy above me, that fast mobility on a warrior should not be allowed. Either increase the cooldown of both, or change one of them. I like the target idea.

2. When Endure Pain makes you invuln to everything, then sure make that change. Or make EP last 3 seconds, not 4.
4. Warrior needs mobility, this has been discussed countless times, dogged march + – condi duration food is why they are un catchable

I do believe Anet stated that LS will cover an expansions worth of content, which it hasn’t by far, not even close.

The point I was making in my post is that the LS just simply falls so horribly short of an expansions worth of content it really is silly, and that if you add up total content it has provided us with and you see how little there really is, I can’t understand how people can log in each patch and legitimately be happy with it all.

People want what I listed, they said LS is capable of doing such things so my question is: Where is it all?

First of all the expansions worth of content comment was explained many times in the past, and it’s was corrected, so people would understand what it actually meant. This was long before most of the living story was delivered in Season 1. Bringing it up now isn’t particularly useful because even before the best stuff in Season 1 we knew it was spoke out of turn. It was a bad use of language that people latched onto. It’s done.

However, what was also said and explained was that Season 1 was like a test. No one was doing that in any other game. They had to see what worked and didn’t work.

In Season 2 the content is permanent, repeatable and we are uncovering a new zone.

Season 1 was the learning bit, Season 2 is the delivery bit. People act like this sort of thing is done in every game all the time. It’s not. There’s a learning curve. Anet is learning.

And this kind of learning can’t be rushed.

Season 1 was the learning bit? So what exactly did they learn?

That temporary content was a bad thing so they now make it permanent? It should have never been temporary to begin with, any one with any sense could have told Anet this, and we did, for how long?

And such things as making events one time only and so on, another thing they supposedly learnt? The thing I’m trying to say, is that alot of the things they have/are correcting in the LS should have never been a problem in the first place.

And we’re now uncovering a new map? Should I be happy about this? It’s been a month and look at the size of it compared to other maps, it’s small. Seriously nothing to be defending.

I really can’t stress enough, that the LS doesn’t deliver at all, and I really don’t see it stepping up to the level it should and needs to be at any time soon, given Anets track record. Whether it’s poor management, budget problems I don’t know, but something inside of Anet is going wrong for this amount of content and the speed it’s coming out to be happening.

I still to this day don’t understand how people can defend the LS so ferociously.

If you add up everything the LS has given the game since the first LS patch to this date it’s really nothing to brag about, far from it.

And the patch every 2 weeks most of the time to me, feels insulting that it’s labeled as ‘content’.

Where’s the actual long term lasting maps?
Where’s the new races?
Where’s the new weapons?
Where’s the (good) new skills?
Where’s the new traits (we’ve had almost none added, since launch)
Where’s the new weapons for professions? (Staff warriors for example)
Where’s the frequent balance updates?
Where’s the new mini games?
Where’s the new PvP game modes?
Where’s the new PvP maps? Production on this seemingly stopped.
Where’s the PROPER PvP rewards? If I pvp I want pvp stuff, not PvE materials T_T
Where’s the new classes?
Where’s the new fractals? (Actual 100% fresh new ones?)
Where’s the new PvP reward track skins?
Where’s the new dungeons?

When I read such comments as “You’ve outdone yourself Anet!” and so on in regards to the new patches, and the Dry top map it makes me want to cry, that people are so easily pleased with such minimal content being added.

People like to say the complainers are overly negative, and so some degree they are right depending on what the person is complaining about.

But I think it’s actually the reverse, that people are far too easily pleased with the amount of actual solid good content we get and the speed it’s delivered.

Like someone stated it’s going to take several months to get the full Dry top, it’s laughable.

And it’s because of 2 simple words; Meta builds

Now I know some of you are thinking what’s the problem? Every game with PvP and a build system etc has a ‘meta’.

Which is all fine and good, I understand that certain builds will naturally be better than others it’s the nature of balance, it will never be perfect.

But what does annoy me, is that sub-optimal builds aren’t just a little bad, they are flat out terrible in SPvP compared to their ‘meta’ counterparts.

I’ll just cut this short, I personally believe the meta builds are too good compared to other builds classes have available, now I’m not saying boo hoo I can’t play my insert random made up on the spot build and I want to own! No, I’m saying that the difference between an average build compared to a meta one seems to be so vast it frustrates me.

I have, like many people taken an average non meta build into PvP to only lose to an inferior skilled player who happened to be on a meta build, yes skill factors into winning a duel quite largely, but when I get bursted and lose by auto attacks because of silly might stacking runes and air/fire sigil it gets old after a while.

I guess you can call this a I want more build diversity in the sense of not more builds being added, but more builds that can actually compete.

Can something be done against the player Solum Antrorsum (Acc name MrCyrus.5036)

They are queing soloq on purpose to just afk it from the start. They are going to continue to do this as stated by the person themselves.

And naming and shaming yadda yadda but I don’t care. People who afk from the very start when it’s on purpose need to be name and shamed.

Warriors are not the benchmark…Guardian is. It’s why you NEVER hear complaints about Guardian being too OP or too weak. They’re at that perfect spot.

I think at this point, Guardians are so good at what they do I don’t see how it can’t be viewed as OP.

They hold a strangle hold over the bunker position for how long?

They are basically required to a high degree in high fractals, dungeons.

Same goes in WvW, they are one of the backone classes of WvW as a whole.

This class performs so incredibly well in all 3 modes it’s silly and have done so well for as long as anyone can remember.

When a class becomes a legit requirement in all game types, you know it’s not balanced at all.

I’m one of the few who does enjoy Skyhammer now, after converting to a decap engi, hate me all you want.

What I’m disgusted with the map is the amount of bugs.

People surviving falling off the map, requiring the mobs to kill them.

The one shot bug (People sometimes literally die for no reason)

People not falling off when they should due to lag.

Entering/leaving the cannon platform is buggy as heck.

I can put up with the map, but not the amount of bugs.

Your leaderboard ranking decays, not your actual mmr I believe. So yeh you shoot back up because your mmr doesn’t decay.

Cleansing Ire is in this tricky situation.

The longbow is the culprit, not CI for the condi clear people complain about. Go into a PvP match with out the longbow, and see how OP CI really is, I’ll give you a hint: It’s NOT.
