To help you out, doing the map completion yield you 200 skill points.
And also doing 1 dungeon rung yield roughly 75% xp of what you need for one level.
And a dungeon run, if speed runed can be done in less than 15 minutes.
Ascended gear looks like ANET is breaking these promises. So we will complain because those promises were a major reason why we bought GW2.
So Ascended gear “looks like” is breaking these promises… But what it really is <0.5% (example ring gives 2 more power which is 0.2% of 1000 – pretty low for level 80) better stats and some PvE specific attributes (like magic find and ifusions).
The ring gives 5 additional power and precision (And these are Minor stats, the difference would be bigger with Major stats) an increase by 8% ( 5/63=8%) And the major stat (in this case MF) have an increase by 42% (this will probably be lower if Power/precision would’ve been the major stats)
So full Ascended will have quite some more stats than full Exotic.
(edited by Komuflage.2307)
Agreed. Look at all the rage around ascended gear. Look at all the rage around one time only events.
Had ANET tried to gather feedback first, they rage would have come early enough for ANET to back off. But, now that ANET has put development time into them, backing off means they have to push on or throw that investment away. So they push on and the rage gets stronger till it becomes a rage quit.
Simply change the stats on this new ascended armor to match exotics and there would be no problem at all, but I guess Anet like it when all their fans flame them?
@ pregnable, Yes, I didn’t mention that, but it is true it will cause some anxiety amongst players who already worked for an exotic set, but if they didn’t do updates because it would cause some players to get annoyed, they wouldn’t get anything done. Ever. Also the rest of your points seem to be speculation (granted thats all we can do), and its unfair to not like an update because you don’t know how they will work it in with crafting.
Ant to others saying that they might indeed add additional tiers: Arenanet are fairly smart people. This is exactly the same thing they said they would not be doing in their manifesto, so instead of freaking out like every other player, I realized they probably had a reason for doing this. I realized that there was no level 80 exclusive tier and it seemed to fit. They very well could have simply not had time to add these in the initial release.
Currently, we have no evidence indicating that additional tiers will be added, and the points I stated above are worth at least something. So imo, there is some evidence they will not add future tiers, and no evidence they will.
But why add a new tier that has increased stats of the all ready lvl 80 exotics, thus forcing everyone to grind for these better gear. There is already a Lvl 80 exclusive called Legendary, why not just make legendary armor? Then there would be a Fully exclusive lvl 80 tier, but still people wouldn’t be forced to grind.
How do you get dungeons to give 2gold?
1 run as a lvl 80 will give you 26 Silver, plus loot worth between 10-30 silver (and if you’re lucky u’ll get a rare item worth another 15s – 1G
I do not understand what Anet are thinking, why do they care how much time we spend in their game? That’s not how they’ll earn money, they’ll get money from the Gemshop.
This post is taken from Examiner and explains it very good.
“This makes no sense. Seriously, it doesn’t.
Adding a gear grind to a game with NO SUB FEE. What’s the point? Whether I get my gear over the next 6 months, or whether I get it playing 24 hours a day the next week – Anet gets the same amount of money from me. Which is none, aside from what I buy in the gem store.
Where is the horizontal progress that should be paying the bills? Where’s the new gem store skins? Non-event minis? Weapon skins? New townclothes? New cosmetic slots? Housing? All stuff we would have to drop real money on for gems, and would do so gladly because LOOKING COOL was the real grind of the game?
And if we weren’t dropping real money – we’d be grinding gold in-game to buy gems, which has the EXACT same effect as adding a gear grind (making us spend more time in-game) but without the penalty of breaking the Ma
nifesto and making their core subscribers feel betrayed.
This is illogical and crazy. Hardcore grinders are never going to be the target audience for this game because it has NO SUB FEE. Spending more time in-game without spending money does Anet no good. The people they NEED are the cosmetics-kittens who would be spending money like gangbusters for housing, townclothes and the like.
For a game with this business model, vertical progression makes absolutely no sense as a development direction.
New costume sets FLEW out of COH’s cash shop. LOTRO’s cash shop is largely horses, cloaks and dresses – people will pay out the nose to LOOK cooler than other people. And yet NO more armor skins have been added to the store since launch, and the offerings were extremely skimpy to begin with. Anet cannot possibly be thinking that people are going to drop $100 a month just to play the Black Lion Key lottery, can they?"
God you people will complain about anything. So they’re adding a new “slightly” better tier of equipment after 3 months. Did you REALLY expect them to not add any additional sets/armors/weapons/etc. to the game EVER? It’s not like this armor is even going to be that much better than what you already have. Chill the kitten out and enjoy the game.
Ofc we expect them to ad new weapons, but now weapons, armor etc with better stats. They tolr us they wouldn’t do it, and GW1 is fine without it, so why does GW2 need it?
And now, the new gear does have a matching upgrade built in, so now it’s not possible to have Bersekerk ring with Cleric upgrade, WohOO!!! Even more casual!! YES!!!! That’s exactly what I want, why would I want to have the freedom of choosing what combo I’d like? that would require me to think a bit. Ty Anet, TY so much u backstabbing kittens
Doesn’t matter if it just give 1 more stats, it’s still better than exotic, Anet is just killing their own game more and more for each patch.
For tanks to work as in other games they have to have 1 or more Aggro gain abbilitys
For healers to work they must be able to spam heal people.
Why would I ever want to take 5 DPS (Non trinity) instead of 1 tank and 1/2 healers?
With 1 tank who would have aggro at all time, and 1-2 healers that would heal the tank so he would be “unkillable” the dungeons would become just like any other mmo dungeon where u stand still and idly press 1-5.
No I’m sorry it’s not hard, think before you act and this dungeon is ez.
So now they will make it easier to get Legendary, Hurray.
Don’t they realize that if they make every thing easy or less time consuming, people will run out of content faster and get bored of the game faster.
I’ll probably “stop” playing after I get my legendary, since I would have no goal after that.
Probably just sign in 2-3 times a week when my guild have WvW events but that’s all.
Its unavoidable for some dungeons. Like path 3 in Ascalon Catacombs. I’m not sure how you’re able to complete that one without a full DPS only group, which naturally means some less DPS centered classes would get excluded.
What are you talking about? We’re running that dungeon path with 2-3 support speccs :P
Also I don’t understand this about some dungeons only doable with some professions present, I’ve tried and completed every dungeon path except 2 paths in TA and 2 paths in Arah, I’ve played both my Glass cannon warrior and my Healer-Tank guardian, I’ve run all of these dungeons in different groups, sometimes with 4 thievs, sometimes with 3Warriors and another guardian, played with Support speccs and glasscannon speccs.
But ofc some people like to have some specific professions with them, and why does this surprise you? For instance I love to have 1 thief in my group since we together can stack 25 stacks of might to the whole team which pretty much increases all our damage output with 50%.
I love to combo this with a mesmer with Time warp, since we get increased damage and increased attack speed and can kill most bosses within a few seconds.
2 Necros works great with this combo as well since they deal a kitten load of damage with 25 might stacks and double attack speed.
For me this is a perfect setup in most dungeons. But it’s not required to have this setup in order to complete any dungeon path I’ve tried. But different people prefer different things, just like some people want a Porsche and some people want a Ferrari, both are great cars, but people have there preferences.
Did you misread GADefence? I clearly said “he would not design content this hard again for holidays” so how can you say “In case you misread, he said he will keep designing things but just not do an event THIS hard during a holiday.” Since it’s exactly what I wrote ^^
Secondly, I never stated that I think things this hard should NOT be in this game, rather I created this thread since I WANT thing this hard in the game.
About lupicus, personally I don’t know any way to exploit him, nor do I which to know a way, however I kind of like him, he has good mechanics, 3 stages, and you have to think a bit to beat him, not just tank and spank.
About “To easy to get full exotic now”, there you have a point, guess I should have formulated that sentence better, since technically, it’s not “easier” to get exotics now, it just takes less time. ^^
This is not WOW.
WOW has primarily END GAME as it’s focus, with leveling just a boring repetitious grind to get to level cap THEN the game actually STARTS.GW2 is so awesome (imo) because leveling is FUN and you can do so much fun social stuff with others before you get to the cap —- and remember, they’re announcing monthly events (like halloween, and now the november announcement) and there will be rapidly released expansions coming out all the time, raising the level cap and introducing new content (and I bet races & classes and such),
so new content will be fast and fun and a lot of it already is – so i think part of your
discontent is comparing it to WOW’s endgame raids and all that; this is not WOW,
it’s SO much better in ever way . if you like endgame raiding like wow, then play wow until the next gw2 xpac launches!
Fanboy much? He never stated that this was WoW, or that he would like it to be more like WoW. GW1 has primarily End game as its focus, so how is it weird that people want the same thing for GW2? I’m one of those people who don’t really like the levelling part of GW2, I had fun with my first character journey to lvl80, and I took my time to enjoy the content, took me 135H to be exact, but I don’t want to do that again, I did level up a Guardian to 80, but I did not really enjoy it. It’s rather now that I’m lvl 80 with it and I can run dungeons with my friends and have a fully efficient character in WvW that I’m enjoying the game.
Same thing goes for GW1; first character to lvl 20, had a blast, after that I rushed all my other character since I did not really enjoy the levelling part after that and nor have I in any other MMO. The end game is important and in GW1 there was these titles/achievements that you had to spend hours and hours to get, these does not really exist in GW2, so ofc people search for other mean to enjoy the end game.
And as I stated, for me the end game is mostly dungeons, but of as right now there’s quite few of them for the time it takes to complete them, and I’m starting to get bored of running them over and over.
I do notice I went quite a bit of-topic and I apologize for that.

As he said “if the attributes had some secondary effects” those you listed are the Primary effects. ^^
How do you mean when you say that dungeon rewards are underwhelming? I’m not trying to jump you or anything, but I’ve seen a lot of people talking about the rewards for dungeons are not good enough or worth the time and this I don’t understand, so if you don’t mind I would like to “hear” your point of view.
Here’s how I see it. I spend like 12-50 minutes in a dungeon (Longer for some arah paths tho.) And for that 12-50 minutes, I get 26Silver, 2K karma, 60 tokens and blues and greens worth maybe another 15S and if I’m lucky I can get a core worth 6S-1G (depending on which one) If I do 3 runs in the same dungeon I’ll get 78Silver, 6K karma loot worth a minimum of 45Silver (1,23gold in total) and enough tokens to buy a Exotic helm, gloves or boots. To me this seems like quite a good reward.
Free exotics (worth 1~5G/42K karma) karma that otherwise would take me 20 events to get and gold that would take me 30-60 minutes to farm.
And I even preferred when you only got 30tokens per run (To easy to get full exotic now)
My suggestion, Raise the price for way point travelling. Teleporting trough tyria is boring as hell, no wonder people get bored when all they see is LA, Cursed shore, and Dungeon entrances. What’s the point of taking a portal from LA to BC and then walk to AC when I can just spend a silver or two, to Teleport from LA to AC?
It makes the world seem small, and there is also no point to ever visit any other cities than LA (except world completion and Cultural gear) In GW1 you could also teleport between cities, but each city had something special about them that made them worth visiting, like Skills/Spells you could only get from certain citys, unique armors, “Dungeons” amongst a lot of other things.
I think it’s to late to remove the waypoints, but making it pricier to teleport, people have to find other ways of travelling.
Same thing goes for the Asura portals. Have any1 here ever travelled to LA and taking the portal to the mist or WvW? Instead of just pressing “Go to heart of the mist” or B and choosing which map you want to queue up for?
Force the players to travel or all the towns except LA will become ghost towns.
You honestly mean it was just a 5% completion rate? or you just picked a random number? Sure it was a challenge, but it wasn’t that hard?
I thought at least 70% would have made it.
but then also, did they just check; 5% of all accounts made it (even those who didn’t try Clock tower) Where people who just gave it 1 or 2 tries counted into this? There is a great many ways to make something sound harsher than it’s.
Stats should directly affect weapon skills/character (in a minor way).

Well for the power suggestion, you already get a bonus in damage. Power + Weapon damage = Attack.
For the toughness suggestion, there is no block chance in this game and I don’t think they implement one.
For the vitality suggestion, healing power already increases you regeneration, and if if vitality would do the same, healing power would become more obsolete than it already is. In addition giving bonuses to players who have a high stack of a certain attribute would make diminishing return useless.
It wouldn’t look ridiculous, since the enemy team can destroy you siege weapons.
Just about the market, the reason you’re not earning money from crafting is not because the 15% tax (Which work as a really good gold sink) if the 15%tax was not there, the prices would drop, so you still wouldn’t earn any money.
Lets take an example, you craft a item and it cost you 80S to craft it, you sell it on TP for 1G and you get 85S out of it, since there is a 15%tax.
If that tax would be removed, that items worth would drop to 85S.
So you would still only earn 5S from the item. However people who buy it would only have to spend 85S instead of 1G.
Secondly if the tax was not there, one of the games biggest Gold Sinks would be lost, meaning that in the long run people would have more and more money, and the prices would go up sky high. Items would still be worth the same, but prices would be much higher.
Look at Germany’s economy after WW2, loads of money was printed > Easier to get money > Prices went up sky high, but the worth of the items was the “same”
Simply the more money in circulation, the higher the prices, new players wouldn’t stand a chance against such an economy. Look at pre-searing farmers in GW1, they had loads of money since there was no good gold sink in pre searing.
Or look at how wow is today. 100G is nothing in that game any more.
Just make mobs faster, that way you can’t run in a circle with a range weapon and kill pretty much any melee mob in the game, and make them run To you, and not where you was 0.5 sec ago. (if u strafe in a circle, they don’t go straight for you, they run after your circle)
There have been a lot of newer MMO’s over the last few years that have ruined the only fun things about them because some people couldn’t complete them. If you think about it, its terrible for business.
It took me a good 4-5 hours of attempts to complete that clock tower. You know what that means? It means I played for 4-5 hours. When it comes to instances, that can be longer. People complain about things being hard, but the drive to beat them is what keeps them playing.
After I completed the tower, I felt great! I literally jumped out of my seat. And you know what I did then? I went back to it to try a few more times to make sure I could do it again!
Remember that there is a difference between the majority of players and the loudest players.
-Hawcinn/Barborin
Totally agree on this, I love the felling of accomplishment. However I’ve only felt this a few time during my hundreds of hours in GW2; First time my group killed Kholer, first time we killed Lupicus and when I soloed Fire Elemental.
I rather spend 5H on a really difficult challenge, than just run it trough in 30min.
Also, with to much easy content, the content will run out faster, resulting in that players get bored of the game faster.
And this “Remember that there is a difference between the majority of players and the loudest players.” is something Anet have to take note to. People wont come to the forums and create topics about how awesome the effigy boss in CoF was. But people who find it hard Will complain.
I don’t really know where to start here, but I’ve seen an increase in the amount of content Anet is nerfing and I don’t understand why you want to take the challenge out of everything.
For a start, in BWE 3 you nerfed the normal open world mobs so the levelling up part became much easier, some professions can even tank mobs their own lvl for several minutes without getting killed (you regenerate health faster than the mob can deal damage to you) this pretty much killed on of the games big sales point the “fluid combat where player have to think about timing and position” now you can just do as in most mmos, stand infront of the mob and hit 1-5. Even veteran mobs can be bought down without dodging or kite:ing.
Secondly the dungeons, I understand that a lot of people find them hard to do in pugs, but you stated that the explorable versions of dungeons was for experienced groups. Still you nerfed several dungeons because pugs could not complete them and in some of these nerfes you even obliterated the boss mechanics. Take the last boss in CoF Path 1. He was hard before, I give you that, but now you can completely ignore his mechanics, just run up to him, spam 1-0 for a few min. No challenge at all.
The only good designed boss that’s actually is still difficult is Lupicus.
And Thirdly; I just read that the guy who created The Clock Tower, apologised to everyone who couldn’t complete Clock Tower and said he would not design content this hard again for holidays.
What’s the point of a achievement like the on you get IF you complete Clock Tower, if it’s not supposed to be hard?
What’s the point of any achievements if Anet should just “hand them out to people”?
Isn’t it supposed to be hard? So only a limited amount of the player can complete it?
All this nerfes is causing two things; People who complain won’t ever learn how to get better, if Anet just give them everything they cant get themselves.
And people who actually like a challenge will stop playing because everything is to easy.
I for once can’t stand levelling up another character to lvl 80, simply because it’s so easy it fells like a huge grind.
Getting bored of the dungeons because there is no challenge in them any more.
I’m not suggesting that you should make everything hardcore so only a small amount of the players can complete anything in the game.
I’m simply suggesting that instead of nerfing everything just because some players can’t do it, help them.
For instance I played AC with a lvl 5x who didn’t even know you could dodge in this game. I saw tons of people getting killed by one of the easier champions (Giant champion in charrs 15-25 zone) simply because they didn’t even try to dodge his attacks. Fire elemental (Asura 1-15 zone) got a nerf, and Anet apologised and stated it wasn’t their intention to create such a hard boss. So was Fire elemental that hard? No, I tried him out in BWE3, first time I was there I decided to just watch what people where doing and why they got them self killed so much, first of the “Death box” aka the bridge. Fire elemental used a 1-shot attack on this bridge and people got constantly killed by it, why? Because they tried to just run over it.
You could make it over this bridge easily by simply double dodging over it.
You could fix all these problem by simply creating a better tutorial.
As of now, there is nothing in the tutorial/prologue that tells you about the dodge function, so no wonder people don’t know about it.
As of right now you just get thrown into a game without any guidance (or well you have the Hint system now that helps, but no enough) and people who played other MMOs that don’t have dodging or “Dynamic events” will stick to what they know; stand still in front of mobs, and only talk to a NPC with a “quest icon” over there head.
This applies to the “to low XP whine” we saw on the forums during the beta. People where running from heart to heart, and once all hearts where completed, they thought they done every quest in that area, but they where to low lvl to go to the next area.
You have a NPC (a scout to be exact) that people are supposed to talk to after the prologue, does he/she tell the player about Dynamic events, and how they work? No, he/she just points out hearts on the map and explains that the hearts are quests, so no wonder people don’t really know how Dynamic events work.
Don’t nerf the game, just explain how it works to the people who need it.
Awesome, but maybe fix the old dungeons first? I mean it’s not like Arah is bugged or anything no, it just need some minor tweaking…
Orbs generate a sett amount of points to the owner; just like towers and keeps.
No unbalance, but the orb mechanic stays in the game. ^^
Well I agree with OP when I first learned that the Charrs was a playable race in GW2 I got so exited, I loved the charr culture in GW1 and even more so in GW2, so the first thing I did during the head start was creating a charr warrior and begin my journey to 80.
However one I got to max level and began collecting some armor, I quickly found out that most armour pieces looks terrible on charrs, except T3 and some pieces from T2 and T1. I did love T1 so much when I first saw it, until I bought the whole set and put it on my charr for some stupid reason the helm is to far up, so you can see his throat and the part of the helm in the neck is higher than the chest piece, it looks really weird and badly designed, after that I started to hate my charr, I don’t want to spend 200H+ to get a lvl 80 with full exotic that I can’t stand looking at.
So I re rolled a Human Guardian, at least now I can wear whatever armor I like.
The artwork team sure managed to create some awesome helms for the charr, where are those?
Reason people don’t play charr, the helms look like kitten, the design (except Cultural and a few others) are terrible on charrs.
Reason no one is at Black citadel: There is only 6 reasons to ever visit a city in this game;
Bank, TP, Mystic forge, Dungeon armor, Cultural Armor/weps and crafting.
Black Citadel; Bank, TP, Cultural Armor/weps (for charr only) and crafting. City located in the East.
LA; bank, tp, Culturals, crafting, MF and Dungeon armor/weps. City located in the middle of the map.
Now tell me, why would I want to travel to a city, “off-map” where I can only do a few thing? Instead of going to a Central City where I can do all of it?
The problem is not that BC is hard to navigate, the problem is the waypoint system; It’s much more convenient to just teleport to a Trader’s Forum in LA, since it’s next to the Bank, MF, TP and crafting. Then I have to use another waypoint to access the Dungeon armors/weps and cultural.
This problem does not only exist in BC, go to Rata sum and u only find a few people, go to hoelbrek and you only find a few people, same thing goes for the grove and Divinity’s reach.
Anet need to find a few to get people to the citys, but right now they are giving us tools to avoid the citys.
With the right items, we can open the mystic forge and bank from anywhere we want, Cursed shore have a TP, so the only reason to visit LA (if u get this items) is to craft and buy dungeon armor.
Yes please, I’ve found some really awesome looking headgears for my characters just to find out they hide my hair, leaving my neck bald. Why is that, clipping issues could easily be fixed by removing the hair where the hat actually is, but leaving the rest.
Explorable Mode – Moderate difficulty for extremely organized and well versed players. Randomly formed pick up groups should find this content very difficult. Memorable moments of accomplishment and achievement when you defeat an exceptionally difficult boss/encounter.
I must say I found this ^ hard to believe, some of the bosses get nerfed so much it obliterate their mechanics, for instance the last boss in CoF Path1; Sure I agree, he was to hard for a casual game, however after the nerf, there is no point of killing the crystals, all you have to do is stand next to the boss, spam your ability for a few minutes and dodge his big AOE attack. This boss had fun mechanics, but they are useless now.
Same thing goes for the last boss in AC path 2; First time my group where there, we came up whit a simple strategy; we had 3 guys on the cannons, 1 “tank” who where kite:ing the boss and one glass cannon who’s job was to kill all the adds asap.
We had a blast, the boss felt so well made for a boss in the first dungeon.
However, we soon found out that the fastest way to kill him was to just stand next to him and spam your attacks, ignoring the cannons and adds and dodging his burrow attack.
If I can come with a suggestion: you should make some HC version dungeon, who is made just to frustrate skilled groups of player, dungeons that takes day to clear and offer some real neat rewards. And make the Explorable dungeons Casual friendly.
This will satisfy both the casual and the “HC” players, it’ll give the casual pugs a chance to experience dungeons that give some really cool exotic rewards, but they can still complete it without getting to frustrating.
And the “HC” groups will get a real challenge where they have to use coordination, timing and real strategies. Instead of just the “Ok guys just go in and spam, however keep your eye out for the big red circle, when you see it, just w8 1 sec then dodge, after that just spam again”
Agree on this as well, Anet should try to implement some nice mechanics instead of just putting in a normal mob with extra Health.
Just like you mentioned Lieutenant Kholer is a really well made boss, he move around, got some fun attacks and you need to think on this boss, you can’t just rush in the first time you play him, stand beside him and spam 1.
What I found so boring is that their is no moments where you feel like “Yes we finnaly got this boss down” Except for the first time my group took down Lieutenant Kholer and the giant Arah boss (Don’t know the name)
One of the worse examples on totally uninspiring bosses is the Guardian in CM path 2; She just stand there spamming a AOE attack, using her spirit GS and from time to time use the Retaliation boon, which force the group to stop attacking, it’s so lame and dull.
It doesn’t even require much to make an interesting boss fight, just make the boss able to run after players, give them more than 1 attack.
Another example of a boss that just surprised me of how little thought were given in the creation of it. It’s the first boss in one of the arah paths (think it’s the fourth) it’s an axe wielding warrior, whit a devastating spinning attack. First time my group where there we tried to figure out a good strategy, we checked his animations to learn his attacks etc etc, just to find out he only have 1 attack, and we could just use range weapons and kite him around.
They could fix that boss so easily by giving him a pull/leap, make him dodge from time to time and the experience would be much better.
It surprises me how some bosses seem very well done, while other are just cheap.
OMG a smart person created a topic, what kind of sorcery is this!?
But seriously, you’re absolutely right, people need to learn that different builds and classes have different advantages and disadvantages, just because their class-build combo doesn’t work against a certain class-build combo, doesn’t make it OP.
Learn the meta game, learn ur class, learn all other classes, learn all the mechanics etc etc and then come back and whine about a class being op.
No no.
Sure Mesmers don’t have the 2s kill builds. But maybe they shouldn’t had to?
Mesmers are really useful and powerful if used correctly.
I’d say try learn how the profession work; read/watch video/experiment.
There is no major unbalance with the mesmer from any other profession.
The same thing applies for “On-land” combat:
Vs Melee press and hold A and spam 1
It’s not a problem with the underwater combat, it because the mobs don’t move to you, they move to the location you where 0.5 sec ago.
So you just run around in a circle and spam 1-5.
They could do a simple fix to this that would make it all better:
While strafing reduce moment speed by 50-70% or something.
Combat, Dynamic Events... what's the point if they're easy mode?

The problem with “+1” would be that there would be 70posts only saying +1. Which would take up to much space.
Also one thing that is very important to have in mind is; that just because 150people on the forum says something is “bad” it doesn’t actually mean it’s bad.
For instance, lets say that 150people come to the forum and say “Dungeons are to hard” It seems like that the majority of people think it’s to hard and it should probably be nerfed.
However there might be 350people who think they are just fine.
But people don’t come to this forums to say what they like, they come here to say what they dislike.
As I said it’s important to keep that in mind.
@Scarlett.9256: They’ve always said that this would be the game that gear didn’t matter.
Well, they got that part right at least,
So of right now every player have one set of “Pwe” gear that can only be worn in the Pwe zones, dungeons and WvW and a set of PvP gear that can only be worn in sPvP.
I think that I should be able to keep the appearance of my Pwe gear in sPvP, however NOT the stats.
As of right now, I see no point in farming CoF/Arah or any other of the dungeons for gear I won’t be able to wear in the “end game” (Since PvP is what a lot of us is going to focus on after we “completed” the Pwe part of the game)
Once I got my full set of Arah gear (or whatever gear u prefer) I’m not gonna play much dungeons after that, I’ll stop going out in the world after 100% map completion (except to farm some nodes from time to time) so basically I can only use my hard earned gear in WvW, which I have to wait 2-3 hours to get in to.
This is not very satisfying for me as a PVE player and I’m guessing a few others feel the same way.
I understand that if I’m to keep the exact gear I’ve got in PWE including appearance, stats, sigils/runes etc this would ruin the balance, but letting me use the appearance I so hardly worked for would not ruin the balance.
you must agree that spending 200H+ to get that epic look you want, just to get the starting gear as soon as you go into the mist feels kind of lame?
How is it bad game design?
Sure this professions have a speed advantage, but ur guardian have another advantage (for instance Heavy armor and high passive armor)
loads of competitive games have different advantages and disadvantages for different classes/characters, this include higher speed.
But sure I understand how u feel, just like I get annoyed playing DotA and a antimage can outrun me and also teleport away from me (with a 6sec CD)
However this forces me to use different strategies to kill an antimage.
Just like you might have to change ur build and strategy to kill some1 with, for instance swiftness.
Mount mentality
“Oh look a downed player, nvm If I’ll ress him, I’ve to waste 3 sec to remount. So I just leave him there”
This is exactly what will happen, Period.
So you want the game to tell you exactly where to go and what to do?
Come one, what’s make this game so fun is just walking around exploring, mining some nodes just to suddenly find an awesome event.
If you’d see where every event is, then they would just be like normal quest and there would be no point of having them in the game.
Why do u find the dungeons so frustrating and unrewarding?
Personally I’m having a blast playing the explorable dungeons with my friends even tho I do find some of them to easy.
But it’s still so rewarding to see those 350 tokens and knowing “just two more runs for that weapon I really want”
