So they did change the puzzle? I thought I was kitten ing, first time trying to go down the gullet, died. I was like, ‘I know it has been a few weeks since I last did this one, but surely I didn’t forget where to fall.’ Second time down I kept hitting rocks and stopping and eventually made it down. I was like, whatever guess I’m rusty, heh.

Your own parrot or someone else’s.

Someone else’s makes sense. You can revive off killing ANYTHING. Like the poison plants that spring up in Twilight Arbor dungeon paths. Only takes a few hits while you are downed to destroy them and then you will be revived.

If you killed your own parrot, that does sound like a bug, haha.

World Bosses

If they buffed the world bosses in any way for this patch… that buff needs to be doubled. World bosses are melting like butter right now.

Teq alone, you’re spending more time defending the batteries than you are fighting him. World bosses are kind of afk mode right now.

Real life happens and sometimes you have to go afk.

My policy is this – if we can complete the dungeon with just the 4 of us, I don’t see it necessary to kick the afk person. If on the other hand we’ve waited a reasonable amount of time and are having difficulties I ASK the other players if we should find a new 5th.

That afk person might have been their friend or something who knows. So it’s always good to ask if everyone is agreed to kick an afk person.

Sharkmaw Cavern and Princess Hunt

They can make the achivements as easy or as hard as they want. They happened to tie this one (which has a great reward imo) to completing a jumping puzzle. I don’t think it’s that unfair.

When I started playing this game I was pretty rotten at the jumping puzzles and raged every time I fell. But ya know, I kept at it, and practiced. The first time through Sharkmaw with a friend guiding me no less, took me over 90 minutes. Today? I was done in less than 10 while on the hunt for karkas.

I know jumping puzzles can be frustrating, but don’t give up. Look up guides and videos and find a technique that works for you. Keep practicing and one day you may even find them fun.

Same thing happens with chests at the end of dungeon paths. So the bonus chest dialogs seem to be bugged at the moment.

Want to reiterate my experience as this id definiately not the case. I’ve only been playing a few months and my AP is under 4k and I’ve never had a problem with getting kicked from groups because of it. I run tons of dungeons and fractals, open world content too. Never been kicked because of low AP.

Never tried joining a group that requires xAP before in description. But for all others that don’t mention it, it was not a problem.

Just came here hoping I missed it someplace in all the new stuff. But did they really take deployable turrets out? Did they give an actual reason for taking it away, I loved that. With the flamethrower nerf and now this, my engineer doesn’t feel the same and I’m sad about it.

It’s the exact same thing, it’s just called ‘ascended gear’ instead of ‘level 90’. It’s an increase in stats one way or the other. What’s wrong with calling it vertical progression when it functions as the same thing as raising the level cap?

The game doesn’t require you go full ascended to do the content. But it does make the content easier. You do realize there are mobs in the game that go above level 80.

From my own experience, the community has been nothing but welcoming. I just started playing 4 months ago and didn’t have any AP to my name. Started doing dungeons with pugs and never got kicked from any group. I run 5+ paths a day and haven’t had any issue. Even when I kitten my group helps me get back on my feet.

I’m honestly inclined to call bs on this one. You may have had the unfortunate luck to get kicked a few times, but not every single time you try to join a party. Something is up and it’s not the community.

Have to agree, I actively avoid doing this daily because it’s just not fun. The zone is broken and what events aren’t are over before you can reach them.

Yes you can say ‘Oh do WvW, or do PVP and get your dailies done.’ But not everyone likes those modes. And when players are actively avoiding a PVE daily for valid reasons, maybe it should be changed.

This isn’t about not being able to complete dailies; it’s saying that one daily that comes up is just no fun to try and complete.

Noticed this in Lion’s Arch as well. I thought it was something other players were doing. I eventually moved away from the area and didn’t hear it again.

Only gamble dungeon tokens, not gold. Dungeon Tokens → Exotic Dungeon Weapons → Forge ’em up.

If you want more gambling you could just do world bosses and any rares you pick up toss ‘em in instead of selling them or deconstructing them. Loose about 1 gold per set of 4 rares vs selling but it’s better than wasting the gold already in your wallet.

If you’re not using the tools the NPCs provide, you’re gonna have a tougher time imo. Yeah it can get annoying that he can spam fear or the ice that pushes you back. But it’s honestly very survivable. There are lots of things to do during the fight and plenty of opportunities when he’s vulnerable where you can go and get your hits in.

Also don’t worry so much about dying; there is next to zero penalty if you go down. Plus in events like this usually someone will help get you back on your feet. I love rezzing people during Claw of Jormag.

For me during the fight I usually use the char weapon to attack the ice wall as much as I can. But if I get pushed too far back due to fear or ice then I’ll just look around and see who needs rezzing or defend the cannon area.

Phase 2 I pick up a flame thrower and ‘watch the ledges’. Mobs spawn and you can take them down easily with flame throwers and they drop champ boxes. You can easily get 5+ champ boxes during phase 2 and as long as you aren’t trying to be on top of an enemy (flamethrower has a long range) you don’t have to worry about dying.

Then I believe it’s skill 4 on flamethrower which lets you jump forward a long distance. Use that when Claw of Jormag is vulnerable to get up there and get some hits in and then retreat. Heck I just use the flamethrower on his foot and then jump back to the ledges when it’s time for more loot. :P

Lots of ways to play the fight and lots of people around to help if you get in a pinch.

I swear I’ve seen an Asura/Human couple in the game somewhere before. Nothing explicit but I assumed they were based on how they talked to each other. Maybe I read too much into it though.

I have friend who’s colorblind… He can’t tell the red circles from the green circles.

Same. Colourblind guildy can’t see AOEs.

Also same. My friend is colorblind and can’t tell a friendly from an enemy circle. He’ll often dodge roll out of healing fields and the like.

I’ve noticed the patterns around the circle are different depending on friend or foe. Foes have more jagged spikes; while friends have low spikes and hills and of course a bubbling effect. Still in the heat of battle sometimes those extra seconds trying to deduce what circle you are in could be deadly.

So it’d be great if a colorblind mode for those sorts of things could be added.

Had this happen, people with aoes just keep firing into the spot it’s supposed to be till it ‘submerges’ and the other mobs spawn. After those are killed he reappears as normal.

I just completed this on one of my characters 2 days ago so whatever bug they are looking for it apparently doesn’t affect everyone if that helps whoever tries to fix things.

Does the instance progress at all after Traherne disappears? Does the asura blow up the cave entrance so the party can get inside?

Also do any of the npcs die during the instance when you play. I recall there was some bug where if one died they wouldn’t exist anymore or something weird like that.

I was recently there maybe a week ago on my Engineer. I knew what was up as I had seen people doing that activity before. I just did the heart without bothering the crows – it’s not hard.

Honestly till I read this thread I didn’t even know the crows were part of the heart. I’ve never messed with them on other characters doing the heart. The rats you can run up to and stomp – I thought that was what you were supposed to kill, not the crows.

Anyway, everyone needs to be kinder to each other. If you know about the candy corn activity then don’t grief them to get the heart done faster. If someone comes and kills the crows, let them know what’s up in a respectful manner.

It’s not like the candy corn activity is taking over the whole game where nobody can get hearts completed. It’s just that island and the quest is easily done other ways yeah?

Can't get into Lion's Arch

Same, can’t get into Lion’s Arch.
Seriously what’s going on? Every day seems there are 2+ areas that just become inaccessible for no reason.

People have figured out or saying it’s a specific server? Shut it down if that’s the case, this is getting pretty bad. Lion’s Arch is pretty much my character’s home, I usually log out there. Is no place in the game safe any more from this issue?

WPing to Grove or Tequatl Causes Client Crash

Same here, tried to join an HotW group and couldn’t get into Frostgorge. Tried WPing to different places and even tried WPing outside of Frostgorge and walking there. All options lead to game crash.
