Ask whoever runs your guild if the guild needs something more and how you can help more if you feel you need to. Maybe instead of direct gold donations they’d rather people donate food or siege supplies if you are WvW guild. Maybe it’s a time thing where they’d prefer someone to help lead an event one night out of the month or something. Lots of ways to help your guild aside from just donating gold.
This is almost a repeat of what happened a few months ago when people realized they could drop so many bundles of something on a map to crash out everyone playing on that map.
Not sure what can be done about portals since that’s a player skill. It really comes down to the commander leading and telling people to wait out the portal cooldown, then pick up kegs when it goes away.
The dropping things though should be looked at. Never seen this wooden sword thing, but people dropping merchants/food right on the harpoon/kegs leads to failed runs. A no drop zone around these items/locations is needed.
Had the opposite happen. I don’t play raids but I do help a friend with escorting Glenna in wing 3. Normally that doesn’t count to unlock the mastery track – but today it unlocked for me.
I thought maybe they patched it so that the escort counted, but maybe it’s bugged to where some flag got switched between the escort and VG?
Yeah they are appearing pretty often for me, usually every 10-20 minutes, sometimes sooner. Was in my guild hall with a friend today and spotted like 5 or 6 and he spotted a few as well over the course of an hour-ish.
The noise they make when they pop in and just their existence in general actually scares me sometimes when I’m not expecting them. As cool as this is, I feel Anet missed an opportunity to save this kind of stuff for Halloween. xD
I had forgotten about this issue. One of my friends was complaining about this with the moth wings backpack which made me not buy that one. I was planning on getting this one today, but now that I’m reminded of this, I will pass.
I guess this would open the floodgates if we could dye backpacks, but the ones sold in the store where you can dye the glider, the backpack should just match. Not sure what the issue is with getting this to happen. But I am not going to be buying backpack/glider combos till I can dye both parts to match each other.
Fashion wars is real and it exists; please take our money!
Since the patch I have encountered several enemies which don’t appear to exist. Mainly I will see them, and can target them, but then when I go to attack, it says the target is too far away even tho it could be standing in front of me.
I will also see enemies vanish in front of me.
This doesn’t happen all the time, just every once in a while. But it doesn’t seem tied to a specific location. I’ve noticed this in Sparkfly Fen (specifically the bloated creepers at Teq don’t seem to be real), Harathi Hinterlands and Dredgehaunt Cliffs. The one at DC was especially bizarre as I saw branches sticking out of the snow moving along – but when selected it was a Veteran Pinesoul submerged under the snow. That one disappeared after a few seconds.
My best guest is enemy pathing is out of sync with what I’m actually seeing on my side vs server side? At least that is the best way I can describe it.

Cost is way too high; Anet should really take another look at this situation.
This is similar to how it works in Rata Novus lane for the KotJ meta. Each ley energy can only be picked up by 1 player. Except in that case, dozens upon dozens are being thrown out. Here it seems to be 1 at a time vs. 30+ people competing for it.
Maybe the OP is thinking of that champ wind rider at the end of the Southsun skipping stones jp?
In that case what is so special about farming that?
You need to kill it for the new legendary shortbow. Considering how often people come to that spot, that champ wind rider can be a tough customer to solo. And if you die, you have to do the whole jumping puzzle again.
Well, Ts organized maps tend to have teams assigned to defense and turrets, so any other people are not only not needed, they are even detrimental since they needlessly scale up the def events or make a canoneer stand idle by wondering whether that random will use the turret or abandon it halfway through. In addition to not dealing damage to Tequatl.
The easyest way to identify such a map is by counting commanders. Since defense is handled by designated groups they don’t use commanders there, which results in only 2 commanders for the whole map.Now from your post I don’t know what kind of map you were on, but the chances of you really being unneeded for defense or turrets are not 0.
Pretty much this post. If you didn’t make it on a defense team, sorry but suck it up and go with the zerg and attack teq or get off the map and on to a different IP. Nobody needs extra people around the defense areas; if you do defense as much as you say, you know that more people equals harder enemies spawning.
It’s a group event, it’s not all about you and your needs. Go where you are needed to go. Learn how to survive not being on a defense team.
Really I think the issue is that some jumping puzzles are no-fly zones will others aren’t. It would be good to have consistency.
As others have said, the stem is the safe jump and seems to be the intended way to actually do the jump unless you enjoy falling to your death repeatedly.
As others have said; why would you want to destroy such a wonderful item?!
But yes it can be destroyed; but I may silently judge you for doing so. :P
Inventory tips for future patches. If you come up with a new way to arrange the inventory, leave players the option to put it back the way it was pre-patch.
The problem with getting people to leave is there is always someone new coming to the area and you can’t tell them ‘no’ fast enough to get them to stop. Then you also have the people who believe even if the event does reset, if they aren’t quick enough they will miss it and it will bug when they try. So they either don’t leave the event area or don’t go far enough away for it to reset.
At this point it’s best to just wait for a patch to fix these issues as solving them in-game isn’t feasible.
Normally I avoid saying things on the forums… especially complaining. But I’m sorry, this needs to be said. How did you roll this out? It’s the most frustrating experience I’ve had in a game (and that includes Tribulation mode), with no real sense of accomplishment when you manage to get around the bugs. They are just unfair, harsh obstacles. First I got stuck in Sparkfly Fen for 2 hours, waiting for Tequatl to come and make an Overflow so I could fight the Tigers (broken event). Then I got stuck in the Fields of Ruin, waiting for an old broken event to un-break for nearly 24 hours (the Old Man wouldn’t leave the Harpies, so the event stalled). And now, I’m still in the Fields of Ruin… because the Tiger event broke there too. And guess what? There are never overflows for the Fields of Ruin. So I’ve been stuck here for 8 hours, just hoping someone at ArenaNet would take a moment to please shut down Fields of Ruin 64.25.33.63:0 because no matter how many times we try to get people to leave, someone else always comes along and keeps the event stalled.
Please help us.
This same map IP is still around and the event is still bugged. Been this way since shortly after yesterday’s patch, so like 15hrs now.
Like this poster I was happy to get into the map and see the harpy event already done so I could talk to the guy at camp and progress – and then this bugged right after. This I could understand more than tying the quest to already bugged events. It’s new content so bugs can be forgiven in this instance.
But yes it is definitely frustrating to not be able to do any further progress on the legendary quest for 15hrs and counting because one map never refreshes. Hope a fix is being worked on currently; although it would be great to get this particular map ip shutdown in the meantime for players. Admittedly don’t know how difficult that would be on Anets side though so yeah.
I know gliding for a long period of time causes them to go away to where you have to re tick them. This is hopefully a known issue since it started when HoT was released. Not sure if it’s being addressed though.
Not one, but TWO of the events needed for this journey, contain issues that get them “stuck”, and cannot progress.
“Escort the quaggan emissary to the kodan camp”, http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Escort_the_quaggan_emissary_to_the_kodan_camp and
“Rescue the villagers and defeat harpy kidnappers”,
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Rescue_the_villagers_and_defeat_harpy_kidnappersIf you look at the discussion pages for these quests, they have both been broken. Since 2013. 2013.
I’m at a loss to understand how it is that these bugs weren’t obvious, big blaring stoppers to launching this legendary journey – I mean, it’s not like they’re obscure? How do you create a legendary journey that involves not one, but two, two-year-old, progress-blocking bugs like that?
Yeah I have to admit that I was liking the quest up until I got stuck at the harpy event and it was bugged – and it’s been bugged all day long every time I check. Same map, no change.
We’ve had this issue before with other precursor journeys. Like seriously nobody learned anything from that in the past 6 months. Didn’t bother to check if these events were working properly – just nothing.
And it’s not as if the legendary journey HAS to go to these areas, you could use any other event that works most of the time to attach the quest to. So why choose two events that have been notorious for YEARS that they bug out basically all the time?
I hate to say it but it feels like the legendary team just didn’t care about what they were working on; and I honestly see why future legendaries were cancelled.
Or perhaps someone on the legendary team has been harping about these events for years and was ignored so as a sign of protest attached the legendary shortbow to them to bring attention to the issue so they get fixed. That’s me thinking positively about things. The only other option is they just didn’t care.
I have this bug on my engineer who already completed the personal story. The first one I received I had to check to make sure it wasn’t from another player in the game. The way the letter is worded and how we keep getting spammed with them every time we go to LA it makes it seem like an ad flyer for a psychic.
‘Ah yes your fate is misaligned, come to Soothsayer Jacinda! She knows all and sees all. The spirit world is but a waypoint away in Soothsayer Jacinda’s shop. Tarot Cards, Palm Readings and Mystical Trinkets await you there. Fix your fate today!’
As well as the events “Rescue the villagers and defeat harpy kidnappers” and “Escort the quaggan emissary to the kodan camp” are currently bugged. Their is a villager in the top left corner that refuses to leave the nest hindering progress, and the quaggan gets stuck and stays in a rock. Can these get fixed please and thank you <3
This right here. As soon as I started approaching Rosko’s Camp I knew what was about to happen. This rescue the villagers quest has been bugged for the longest time – WHY would you attach a legendary quest to it?! It’s like you’re purposely trying to torment players. Did nobody learn their lesson after nearly half a year of these pre-cursor quests getting bogged down by other broken content in the game?
I have no problem with having to complete events and such to progress. But make sure the event you’re attaching things to doesn’t bug out. The quaggan one too is infamous for bugging out. These two quests aren’t occasional bugs, they bug out all the time. Does either of them ever work, I don’t think I’ve ever completed either of them in the many times I’ve been through both areas. The decision to attach the new legendary to them just boggles my mind as if nobody who is designing this stuff cares.
Sorry if this is so harsh sounding but it’s frustrating as a player to run into these same problems over and over as if nobody is paying attention to what is happening in the game.
Yes, the special decorations vendor won’t let you deposit multiple furniture coins. Looks like the option is there, but it’s not working.
Can you not convert them into skins again, saving yourself transmutation charges?
It would cost 2gold per skin though vs free from all the transmutation charges I already have saved up or could get easily by exploring a racial city.
Yeah it would be nice if they were used for something else after making all the skins for their collection. Turning them in for baubles or even a bauble bubble would be nice.
Run speed is WAY slow in this game. Was one of the first things I noticed when I started playing. Then in-combat state makes you even slower. It’s really dumb and the game would be better if we could just move quicker. Always feels like my characters are stuck in mud.
Only reason I like my Herald so much is the constant run speed. I played one in the beta weekend and told my friend I felt like I was driving a racecar the Herald was so quick compared to other classes.
Got stuck under the checkpoint just after the first octopus. Hopped on the checkpoint and it sent me underneath the checkpoint. I’ve had it push me back onto the scale usually but this time I got sent underneath it into an inescapable box. There was a transparent wall blocking me in as well as the 3 stone walls.
Tried digging up bunnies to kill me but couldn’t dig. It was acting like I was in mid-air. Had to abandon the run. No big deal since it was just a normal run, but I imagine this could happen in Trib mode as well since you have to hit this checkpoint. Either way thought I should report it as a bug.
Happened to me a few times. Like Killer said, just keep mashing dodge and eventually you will get unstuck. May take a minute to dislodge yourself. But yeah that area is a pain if you get stuck. Almost wish they would put in some wall spikes to seal the deal there so you can just retry from the previous checkpoint. :P
Bet it shoots roaring tigers.
It better! This thing better be crawling with tigers or I will be disappointed.
Kind of puzzling response from ANET. Everyone knows it’s an exploit which should be a no-no in the game. And yet ANET is giving it the go ahead.
In any case, if they are eventually going to patch this up for next time, how about considering an option for people to get back into Trib mode where they left off if they DC? This has happened a few times when I’ve been on with guild mates where they would DC during a Trib run and it’s kind of heartbreaking.
Or maybe just do away with not being able to join parties already in Trib, but use the checkpoint system to determine where that character gets put in the world. Prevents people from selling it since a new character entering would have 0 checkpoints and would start at the beginning of the level. At the same time someone who had been playing could get back to where they last checked in at in case they had DCed.
You only have to do W1Z1 in Trib mode to visit that HOT HOT HOT furniture shop. Every other furniture shop can be visited in Infantile Mode (although you receive less coins) to unlock the achievement that lets you buy furniture coins from Moto.
Everyone can contribute the furniture coins even if they don’t buy them from Moto. Also if your guild has the guild trader unlocked she sells clouds (up to 3/day if you have her fully upgraded) for guild commendations.
Anyway, definitely work on unlocking that achievement and then each furniture coin is only 25 baubles. Farm baubles in normal modes; then profit with all the clouds your guild could want. I think I’ve personally given my guild like 800+ clouds so far. Super easy, no 3+hrs of trib mode required.
My Norn saying; ’It’s better than Moot loot." over receiving almost anything. He said it one time when I got a hard wood log. Like either he’s being sarcastic or Moot loot must suck. What do they give out at Moots; beatings? Well, considering they are Norn… maybe.
I just don’t buy the costumes – simple. Yeah it would be nice if they would release separate armor sets but they just won’t so I ignore costumes in the store.
I and many other players have SAB Fever and the only cure is more SAB! But I do see the points about having to make sure it’s constantly working with each update. Plus yeah it would be taken for granted if it were around all the time.
This is my first time playing SAB and I have to say it’s one of my favorite events in the whole game thus far. So kudos to whoever worked on it. It says a lot that many want this around permanently.
I think the logic goes you’ve technically benefited either through a fancy guildhall or through selling your wares during this period that you shouldn’t need compensation.
You could have easily waited till Anet took a look at scribing but instead knew the costs going in and spent those gems/gold/mats anyway. In doing so you made decorations other guildhalls didn’t have, or sold things for high costs that others who were waiting could not. You’ve in essence compensated yourself.
You may as well ask for a million dollars and shares in the company. I mean if you’re asking for impossible things, go hog wild.
I honestly don’t mind them to continue working on gemstore items. I like what comes out usually even if I don’t buy everything. I also feel it’s necessary for the health of the game that they are able to sell things in the gemstore.
I still want them to continue work on the rest of the legendaries, but I don’t think taking away the gamestore stuff is the way to go about it.
Don’t think it really fits in with being a glider or fits into the game. Sure you can say it’s like a tempest bubble, but the bubble glider isn’t class bound. So a huge norn guardian can also be flying through the skies in a bubble which looks weird.
Doesn’t really impact my enjoyment of the game in the end though. So let people enjoy their bubbles.
I think the living story is fluff. I can play through Anet’s story stuff in a day. Meanwhile I can spend a month or two making a legendary and carry it around with me everyday and enjoy it.
That people are angry, I do get that but what makes me sad is that there are so many rude people who are cursing and blaming Anet for being all kind of monsters without any facts and to little information.
That’s because Anet hasn’t provided any facts or information. People want accountability when promises aren’t kept. What was the real allocation of resources on the legendary weapons project? How many of the weapons have been worked on and what percentage of ready are they? There is NO WAY a team has taken 5+ months to only have 1 weapon to show for it. If so the management of that team is way off kilter because to finish the rest of the weapons would take another 4 and a half years!!! At some point someone managing them would have had to step up and say – ‘What in the world are you guys doing?! You need help or what?!’
What information we do have is that Anet have allocated the majority of their resources to working on the next expansion without fulfilling the promises they made for the current one; which isn’t even cold in the ground yet before they are starting to lop off features bit by bit. So yeah you could say people are a little mad and for good reason.
Pretty much everyone loves this game. But that doesn’t mean people enjoy being lied to or sold a pig in a poke. Be sure though that many players who are feeling burned on this and other issues with HOT will be inspecting Anet’s next pig very carefully before buying.
The longer I think the angrier I get about this. Should take ALL the devs on the next expansion and put them into finishing this expansion. Grind it out like you make the players grind. Stop being lazy and give us what you’ve promised!
I’d rather have more legendary weapons. The story stuff in game can be burned through in an afternoon. #finishwhatyoustarted
Lol, why is it, that the first thing in my mind I got is, its just a Dreamer reskin, that shoots tigers instead of rainbow horses >.>
You complain but this would be my dream weapon. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Tigers! If this bow has anything to do with tigers then I’m down down down for it!
I am actively working on The Dreamer precursor collection, but I’m definitely halting that till this shortbow is revealed. Tigers trump unicorns for me 100 times out of 100 times!
Yeah just wanted to comment on this. I’m not a pvp player, just went to daily rooms for potions for my guild. But yeah I’ll go in some unranked matches and mess around. Sorry if you get me on your team because I can’t really pvp. Send your thanks to Anet.
I currently run 9 chracters through the VB flax farm and the TD flax farm. Every day I’m able to make 12-15 vials of linseed oil. It’s not that big of a time investment especially for something your guild needs.
Make alts, level them, go go go.
Experienced this myself the other night. Luckily only had to wait ~1hr for one of the events and ~20 minutes for the other.
As a solution, maybe make it so that those who have Nevermore Collection IV active are able to talk to an NPC or interact with something to get the events started. Or even use the red iris we have to collect be the catalyst that starts these events.
Have us take it to an NPC outside of the crypts to talk about it and he tells us where to take it. When we finish the convo with him, Baradin event happens. Afterwards when we take the iris to the viewing hill and place it, the siegemaster events begin.
Seems better than waiting around when you have no idea when the event you’re waiting for begins. As another note these events are SHORT, the crypts one was over within 90 seconds once I began, and siegemaster was ~4 minutes since he was a champ and the event chain needed to be done beforehand which took time. So if you aren’t camping these events you pretty much miss a very short window to get them done. A way to activate them ourselves would be helpful to a lot of players.
I’ll sign off on this too. I love my Juggernaut but some of the lighting in game makes the effect look strange. Instead of being covered in quicksilver, sometimes my character looks like she’s covered in squid ink, haha.
I don’t know how difficult it would be to give Juggernaut some love, but it would be greatly appreciated by those of us who use it.
Not sure why 1 or 2 mastery points weren’t given for the new Shatterer stuff. I’m short 2 points to fully maxing core Tyria myself and was waiting on the update hoping Shatterer would give some, but nope.
Triple Trouble is already not hard if you are willing to put in the effort, listen, and follow instructions for groups who run it. Even getting into a map is not a challenge if you are patient and following what groups/guilds are telling you.
This fight doesn’t need to be changed at all.
Didn’t see a thread on this, but thought I’d make one as a way to say thanks! I love the update to the Tangled Depths map, it’s very crystal clear. As many players know it’s kind of an easy map to get lost in. But this change makes things much better. So whoever took the time to work on this, thank you so much! Great work!
My advice is be reckless; don’t stop moving forward and continuously jump. Keep practicing in this manner till you reach a point in the snowflake section where you just can’t pass doing this method. That is where you take your time to make a coordinated jump.
Once you make that jump; be reckless again till you reach another section you can’t get past doing that. Then it’s time for another stop.
I chose to master the snowman path. On that one there were 3 sections where I had to take my time. The rest was constant motion. Doing that I ended up ~1200 HP by the time I reached the checkpoint that refills your health. Sometimes I slowed down a bit and still had health left, but not much. So I assume 3-4 sections will allow you to take your time and make it to the checkpoint. But everything else you have to keep moving.
