If anything I felt sorry for the warrior, as tbh it looked like he had you beat well and truly there, if anything the thief should have not interfered, I don’t know why you find this so refreshing, I have found far better fights roaming than this (and have lost my fair share) if you are pretty new to roaming and it’s one of the first few 1v1’s you have had (I don’t mean this in an insulting way) then congrats I glad you enjoyed it and I’m sure you will find many more memorable fights.

I think the reason I found it so refreshing was that there was no annoying broken mechanics or spam involved. The warrior wasnt a build that stunlocked me. I wasnt a necro who spammed condition after condition. Nobody went invisible. Etc. I just wanted to post to show what I feel most roaming fights in WvW should be like – fights that last a little while and at the end you can say “I lost because I made x, y or z mistake” or “I won because I did x well”. Not “I lost because x class is a hard counter to my class”

Personally I play a lot of classes in WvW and I will play every class to its full potential / build that suits my play style what ever that may be I don’t agree with not playing a build that is optimum for your class because you think it’s OP, some people may say that fearing is OP I depends on the individual. However when I’m in a 1v1 I will never stomp them unless they have been trolling I will just /bow and let them res however in a 1 v x I will always stomp for obvious reasons.

Also I’m sure the Warrior doesn’t think the fight was great, he lost because he was jumped by the thief.

Just want to say thanks to the Mesmer general with commander tag from [LG] guild nice couple of fights we had on AS BL near sentry north of BL ruins, after the hell of the german servers its nice to meet nice people thanks again for the duels. (I was the Asura Engineer)

As long as we have Enemies we are happy, also many from us roam solo or only with 2-3 People full group is more rare, more likly when i’m online though since i tend to instantly build a group(so i can blame my Deaths and Overextension on the others! ^^).

Also we really could use a friendly Person from AS or RoF to be our Bollaball at Thursday. If somebody would volunteer that would be great!

Is like to thank the warrior I had a 1 v 1 with at the windmill on RoS (I was on my little asura engineer) this afternoon nice fight. And to the thief that kept running up later and trying to troll us with your permastealth just lolled so hard when you killed you self with confusion. You were prob the worst thief I have ever seen my support build ele hits harder!

We have a lot of dedicated WvW players and we run guild raids every night but tbh our numbers can vary from 15 – 25+, depending on the time of night / night of the week.

I’m just venting as it can be boring with nights like tonight. When the sides are more even whether you win or lose everyone usually enjoys it and learns something that helps the guild group grow and develop. And that was the story that was been peddled by some guilds that came to RoS, it’s just a shame that the reality is very different as I know I was looking forward to the challenge of fighting these organised guild from the higher tiers. Tonight has seen more RoS guilds blobing who seem to want to Karma train than actually have fun fair fights.

But like I said if that’s what floats your boat (I don’t mean you personally Agrios) so be it.

Yeah we had Frustrating night tonight lot of hand holding between some RoS guilds, which made what could have been great fights really one sided, but that’s the way it goes I suppose, the “we came to the bronze league looking for fair fights” story is just an excuse for bad play and blobbing up to win by any means necessary. I don’t mind that just don’t pretend you came here for any other reason.

I was making fun at this post when Sin said we were the only good guild on RoF, and some people seem to find my response amusing!!

Surly one decent guild is not enough to win bronze league, even with your high numbers. RoS has at last 3 decent guilds, and one moved from Blacktide…

I have never suggested we will win the league, the league winners will be DL, coverage and numbers will decide that, we are just here for the fun fights the league system is completely flawed and is not indication of skill just server coverage and numbers. RoF have always suffered with a fair weather PvE crowd who disappear in a hard matchup and poor early morning and daytime coverage, the German servers have better coverage and will win it. As long as we are having fun and having good fights when we roll all is good!!

I’d love to see RoF win the league but we have to be realistic in our expectations for the above mentioned reasons.

Surly you lose to Germans only due to low skill level, yesterday your guilds blob (about70 ppl) has failed in BT border, somehow with those numbers you were not be able to capture WSR wp in enternal.
Your only one good guild [Tag] spent all reset in our border running with blob. I m sure you are putting much more pressure on us, maybe this is just agreement… so don’t cry about Germans, they always play fairly.

First of all the Germans themselves admitted in our match-up thread that they made an alliance so no they don’t always play fairly. Secondly in BT border TaG never stacked with the blob we were running at least 2 different teams. Lastly about WSR keep in EB you have to blame the total lack of skill of our puggers in EB the map was in que always after the reset (at least until i went to sleep at 1:15 server time in the morning) they are just that bad and prefer to karma train wooden towers than spend 30 mins – 1 hour in a keep assault that is sieged up

When we started to farm TaG, they formed one blob with other guilds (which names I don’t remember)

Haha yeah if that’s farming keep it up we had loads of loot! I will enjoy been farmed like that every night, we always run without a commander tag so blobbing is impossible, we do sometimes pick up pug followers due to our awesome reputation as the best guild on RoF as you put it lols.

Keep up the drama I have really missed a forum warrior like you, I am looking forward to this weeks battles on and off the forums !!

Not directly related to the final winners, but looking at the scores it’s really interesting how many of the 2nd and 3rd places have switched in the last day. Our group was set all week, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and then just today 2nd (RoF) and 3rd (Dzago) swapped places. 2nd and 3rd were not particularly close at this time yesterday, not sure how exactly Dzago made up the difference. Did the entire server pull an all-nighter?

Nice fights tonight guys we had some really great moments on blacktide BL our guild group had a lot of fun. That fight with blacktide between Faiths leap camp and sentry that lasted for ages you kept running back from spawn we couldn’t stop singing the benny hill music in TS it was really funny. You kept building siege which I thought was a bit off in open field but hey we still had fun.

You also put up a good defense in Garri after we lost it we tried a few times to take it back and has some great fights trying you wiped us a few times I hope you enjoyed the fights as much as we did.

Thanks for the fun and the Loots!! Also I got an Exotic staff drop so thanks guys!

I can only speak for RoF as that is where I live, we have a good WvW community that has community TeamSpeak, website etc. and some very good WvW guilds and commanders. coverage is our main problem we have a great and sometimes dominating prime time coverage but our early mornings / daytime can be abit week so due to that I would say we are probably in the top 3-4 in our league. it is very rare we have que’s even in prime time, and if there is its not usually longer than 5 – 10 mins.

Don’t give me that alliance bs again. It is not our fault that RoF didn’t play last night. And if you made Drakkar angry with your conspiracy talk well we had to act. I’ve heard in ts that one (!) drakkar commander likes us and won’t play against us but the rest of them play against us. If ring of fire had played the last 2 nights like they played before you would’ve been second and fair and square.all that crying and not showing up does not change anything.Dzagonur would never mind loosing against 2 good servers…

Thanks Alerion for admitting it I have respect for you as a player and a member of GW2 WvW Community, but it is sad that it has taken until now for people to believe this was going on when it was blatantly obvious to some RoF players what was happening, since Tuesday this has been Visible In EB as I posted earlier.

It’s a real shame that this has happened and the fact that it was denied by people for so long when it was obvious and they resulted in calling us out on the forums when we suggested it is what makes it worse.

Anyway there have been some good fights guys but I feel this alliance has already decided the league well done Dzagonur selling out for 2nd place using dirty tactics really shows what kind of server you are.

Seen as it is only Rof who has the pleasure of facing this German alliance again you could at least do us the curtesy of not pretending it doesn’t happen! I think as a server we have learnt a lot from this and we can go into the next matchup we have with Dzagonur Lake a lot wiser and more prepared.

Really looking forward to next weeks match up and let the drama continue!!

it’s called beginners evening, it’s mostly on thursday, from 20.00 to 22.00 and it’s to explain wvw to beginners and newcomers. they discuss tactics, explain siege weapons and how supply works.
the normal wvw crowd is aware of this event and doesn’t go on our HL on such days, because there are not enough people to help defend things. As these events are communicated in our forum and in LA there is a possibility, that dazgonur knew about this (cause they speak the same language as DL)

But if RoF had also tried to take something from us, you would have painted our HL as easy as Dzag. Why haven’t you?? To tired from flaming about nonexistent collaborations on the forums?? to all you RoF crybabies, read the post from your fellow RoF member Hule and spend a little more time in WvW and a little less in here whining, it does wonders for your points.

Honestly, I’ve never seen anyone stroking eachother gentials as much as you’ve done this week. It’s disgraceful.

The only way to learn in WvW is to have that long run back to the fight after defeat to think about what you just did, it’s WvW’s equivalent of the naughty step. I cannot tell you how annoyed I have been with myself because I made a mistake in a fight that got me downed, and guess what? you don’t make the same mistake twice!!

The problem is we havnt got the numbers to fight both your servers blobs at the same time, you were both in our garrison earlier not attacking each other and just focusing us ill post the screen shot I took when I get chance later. There has been some good fights but I have found this matchup a bit frustrating, Alerion many times your server could have focused DZ as you had this matchup in the bag by Monday but instead you decided to cooperate with them to take down RoF, I know people have said that’s not the case but with screenies to prove it it’s hard to disbelieve!! Coverage is an issue our server has but when we are double teamed we have no chance!

Anyways enough of me ranting I for one havnt given up and no doubt will see you all on the battlefield until the bitter end of reset!

P.S the prime time fights have been great our Zerg Busting Guild group have had a TON of loot from you all so thankyou for that

Dude how can you be serious about that? Why should a PvE player get an edge in stats on a regular WvW player. If they want to get better at WvW, they should train on it, like we did.

There is nothing to suggest use a build for WvW there are loads on every class forum! Buy the gear and off you go to learn your craft unlike PvE if you do X, Y won’t always happen you need to learn to adapt quickly, it’s very rare you encounter a fair fight as 95% of the time there will always be more or less of you than the opponent. Watch you tube videos to learn tactics, use you server Team Speak, what you are asking for is just ridiculous all of us WvW’ers have spent a long time with a spike in us and running back from our spawn when learning (and still do now) it’s part of the game, accept it and move on.

Oh and by the way can us WvW’ers get a buff of 1000 agony resistance so we can do Fractals easier as you know we don’t want to have to grind for it!!

I think the Op has some great ideas! maybe the level five skill could give a legendary weapon if stomped!!

Yeah our guild group in bronze league had quite a few of us who were unable to use any skills at all for about 3 minutes, we weren’t in combat or in a massive battle we were on a BL map, just really bizarre!!

To be honest today was bad in EB you have both (DZ & DL) spent all day in our corner there was a karma train from both of you that left each other alone, you both attacked our keep at the same time and even resulted in building balistas in Spelden (the only camp we had) to stop us upgrading mendons (the only tower we had), just don’t complain when we treat you the same way!! Seiging up camps here we come!!

I love spectral walk in wvw, I have used it before jumping off cliffs and watching the people jump after me then port back up always makes me laugh.

It’s also a great mobility tool when running supply it saves me loads of time.

Well today has been an education so I am sorry about the incoming rant!! I spend a lot of my time usually roaming solo through the daytime on BL maps taking camps and having small 1 v 1 and 1 v x fights, today I was shocked! I spent a lot of time on DL last week and had some great fights, today there were DL and DZ groups of 5 – 6 everywhere even in the ruins, they would run away if there were even numbers and only fight if they outnumbered you. Now a lot of these were below rank 20 but I saw a lot of guild groups with 1 bronze (insert title here) followed by 4 guilders all sub rank 20, I know it’s just achievement hunters but the amount of bad play I have seen today was quite a shock compared to what I’m use to from these servers. I know that there are probably RoF players doing the same but I hope all these pve players disappear again soon as it just brings a really low standard of play to what are normally good opponents!

The most annoying fact were the high rankers who should have known better holding the hand of their guildies and teaching them really bad habits.

Lag hits everybody hard and is annoying, best thing to do if it is lagging to hard just stop playing(atleast for awhile^^), since you won’t have fun anyway.

Also running with a small group <5 works fine in this Matchup, at Primetime ofcourse much Zergevading but that just part of running with a small Group. Ruins are working very good right now since so many People seem to have the need to finish their Ruin Archievment in one day ^^.

Except lags, i’m very happy with this Matchup, many enemies many amusing situations and ofcourse the new Archievment train!!

Yeah it’s going to be fun, night coverage is always an issue, and unfortunately one we can do nothing about however know that when we are on we will make sure that you have to pay in loot bags for every inch of ground you try and take :p

I love the fact that every group is being followed by PvE achievement hunting rally bots but on a series note I wish we could keep at least some of our PvE population in WvW as it makes for some fun fights!

Yeah at least they are easy loot bags for the regular wvw players, you couldn’t throw a stick without hitting players tonight. Some nice fights tonight though. But I think our lack of night coverage is going to hurt us. Looking forward to a good week and seeing some of the people from DL I have fought last week as I had some good fights.
