Just want to say thanks for the nice 1 v 1 with the blacktide general (warrior) it started at victors lodge then we fought all the way to windmill and kept going for ages before we called it a draw, it reminded me of the Family Guy chicken fights!!
you had me close a couple of times but by far the best 1v1 I have had, I know we cant name in the threads but you are the One

I thought Underworld were trying to tank there way into our league I think there is only about 20k between them at the moment.

I think T1 players tend to understand their role and have gear and builds to support it. T1 players are usually in TS and following orders. T1 has attracted better ‘in battle’ commanders that make all the players play better.

T2 down all run dps builds they saw on the forum. They are not likely in TS together and seem terribly disorganised in a fight. Their good commanders have left them for T1.

Yeah I use the forums while I’m working can’t believe how quiet they have been, I hope we get some better forum warriors next matchup!!

As Wildfang stated chill and I mob are king also blinds if they miss there burst skill either 100b with GS or Earthshaker with hammer (both very easy to spot) then they don’t spend adrenaline which mean cleansing ire doesn’t work and the conditions are not cleared. Tbh as a warrior I don’t have any problems with been kited as I use hammer and sword shield so the sword provides a lot of gap closing on a 7 second CD. But against a fotm build immob, blinds, chills are king also keep up pressure as already stated if you go defensive and allow a warrior too much space the signet will trickle heal any damage you have done to their health. You will probably work out the warriors lockdown rotation pretty quickly in the engagement and once you know that it will help you evade it. I really struggle against certain thief and Mesmer builds so we are not indestructible.

Another good tip is to group with an enemy who beets you and ask for another duel I have done this to get better against certain classes / builds, you may loose 3 in a row but you will learn a lot by fighting 1 kind of class / build for a bit.

I feel for you, but I think it depends on your server tbh, on mine I roam in the daytime (usually solo, but sometimes in a small group of 2 – 3) taking camps, sentrys etc. on BL maps. I usually come across enemy roamers pretty frequently and have good 1 v 1 or 1 v x , and I run with a guild group of usually around 15 – 25 in the evening. But that’s why I wouldn’t leave RoF it is a great server with a dedicated WvW base and guilds (if a little on the small side) I wouldn’t swap this for a higher tier blob fest any day of the week.

You don’t say what server you are on so maybe look at transferring if you are on a high tier server you find a server to call home that better suits your play style.

I swapped mine out for Impact so that sword 3 now hits like a truck (10% from impact + unsuspecting foe trait ftw) when they are under 1/2 Health, only problem is you have to que up the sword 3 straight after shield bash as sword 3 has a 3/4 of a second cast time and you now only have a 1 second stun.

To be a good opponent when roaming regardless of class you cannot just stand still and try to face tank / dish out damage as you will be eaten alive by any decent player of any other class. I play warrior, necro, guardian and ele in wvw and I enjoy roaming on my warrior so I can give some feedback on that front.

Wanting to stand and dish out a large amount of damage may work stomping nubs using gimmicky builds like GS + Mace/shield, but any decent enemy will eat you alive as they will dodge your stuns and 100b will eat fresh air, the biggest skill to master that will give you the best advantage on any class is learning to out play your enemy by baiting them and feigning attacks, and that can take time to get good at. Learning to make the fight happen on your terms is the secret between stomping bad players and successfully winning in 1 v x,

Warriors are in a good spot right now and a good build in the right hands can be very successful but you are still one player. for ultimate domination try and run with a buddy/ group as it’s truly surprising what 2 competent players can accomplish against larger numbers.

Saying that if you want the FOTM build use the GS mace shield build but believe me without the skill you will be a free loot bag to some people, I am not saying your not an accomplished player or anything or that I am some superstar at my class as I’m not and I’ve had my kitten handed to me by some good players more times than I care to mention, but I have also won 1vX and also come out on top when jumped whilst taking an enemy camp. As I said earlier situational awareness and the ability to read an opponents intent AND knowing when to back off (buff awareness, your CD’s etc.) is really the skill you need to master and as that skill level increases the amount of deaths and loses you suffer will greatly decrease.

Lol at Blacktide you really need to keep your eyes open I was pounding on hills wall on your BL with a cata solo and then called in 2 guildies when I was working on inner and we took keep from you, it must have taken me around 40 mins including the time it took me to solo build the cata and no one came to check why it was contested! Just while we were seiging up a Zerg came and took it back but I had to lol at how easy it was to take in the first place, it’s not like it’s the middle of the night.

Anyways keep it up, also some nice fights today while roaming around your. BL.

Must admit, while roaming yesterday in WvW I seemed to have more issues taking supply camps etc. I seemed to take a load more damage running the same hammer, sword/shield build 0 10 30 0 30. That I always do, thought it was maybe me, but something defiantly seemed wrong. Also a bit off topic but the change to Sigil of parra makes landing sword 4 stun and then sword 3 a lot harder as sword 3 has a 3/4 of a second cast time and the stun is only 1 second now it doesn’t round up so I swapped it for sigil of Impact for the 10% damage increase it now crits for over 6k

I run a hammer / sword and shield build and roam in wvw a lot, I find it easy to beat other fotm GS mace/shield builds, the key I find is to bait your opponent, Get them to use their stun breakers dodge rolls, never face tank keep moving in and out Classes I really struggle against are theifs and mesmers because they can keep up pressure and can be hard to lock down, also be wary of been baited yourself I can’t tell you the amount of times I baited someone into chasing me as they thought they had me, just to get them into a favourable position while waiting for my Skills to come of CD, knowing when someone is baiting you is a also a skill, watch any top players on you tube they always faint a run away to renegage and catch the enemy off guard, the enemy will usually use a gap closer (which happens to be a stun breaker) while chasing you which gives them one less against your lockdown.

Just want to say thanks to the Mesmer, ranger and warrior I had a 1v3 with at Astralholme on BT borderland, really enjoyed the fight it went on for ages, stomped the ranger and warrior twice and they had time to run back lols, the Mesmer was a tricky customer well done!!

I take it you mean they log out by useing AltF4.

So damm what.
If they do then you do not miss out as there body stay there for a bit while in combat so you don’t lose out on loot or kill. Just when they log back they will find there dead body in LA.

I think the problem is that (someone correct me if I’m wrong here) alt + f4 quits and deny’s the stomp, under the bloodlust buff you get 1 point per stomp so it actually cost your server points, especially if this is done by lots of people, so in my eyes it’s an annoying exploit that anet will hopefully do something about.

But in the meantime I think it’s just another exploit used by certain shameful players. It probably goes on on all servers so the sooner anet fix this the better.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the fallen men and woman that died honorably trying to take hills in drakkar lake bl. The fight at the cata spot was epic! After 1 hour i collected more then 50 heavy lootbags.

Well a great reset night our guild group spent it on DL border, had some great fights and loot bags a plenty, hope this week stays like this, many thanks to the DL Zerg You had some larger numbers that made for some really fun fights around Dawns/ Bay/ Garrison.

just wanted say how disappointed I am with an FR necro from guild tag [TSE]. we were having a 1v1 near ruins sentry on FR BL which was hostile to me, when he started loosing he ran towards Bluebriar and stood with npc’s at gate I grouped up and asked why he ran then he called his friends and I got jumped by 5 FR he then joined the fight I died and he danced on my corpse and corpse jumped me.
I know its not a reflection on all the FR players but it does put you in a really bad light.

I hope to see you again without NPC’s to hide behind.

Some nice fights tonight on Rof BL a lot of skill lag and our small guild group of around 15 really struggled against the larger zergs saw some nice tactics used against us to draw us into a greatly outnumbered fight, when ever we had open field engagement and seemed to be getting the upper hand another Zerg would hit in to us and it would be game over.

Kudos for playing to your numbers strength you must have run with a necro heavy Zerg as omg the conditions were fierce especially around Bay.

As Anya said I prefer this to last weeks boredom, it really makes you improve playing in such an outnumbered match up. We will never stop trying for open field and charging at much larger zergs. May the loot bags be plentiful!!

this is my rule I also don’t engage if an enemy is killing pve mobs I wait while they have finished before I attacked as I hate it when that happens to me, I’ll be taking a camp and them while I have 4 – 5 mobs on me bam I get jumped by some scrub so don’t worry about fairness too much

Just lols thanks for making me smile on a Saturday morning, everyone knows RoF hasn’t the coverage to do effective night capping, but on a Friday night during reset some people may have decided to stay up late. I think coming from a server that outnumbers us so heavily this is almost comical.

Some nice fights on our BL tonight only really saw Dzag though, loooooads of loot bags but no rares for me hope it continues.

Personally I’d rather have another week of this matchup, which turned out to be way more balanced than I expected (Arborstone’s numbers, I’m looking at you), than to face stacked RoS again. Not like this is a reason for me to hold back and start losing points on purpose ofc.

It also would be fair to give GH a week off for RoS as they are having “fun” in t7 for 2 weeks already, while us and Dzag were taking 1 week turns

We will see how it turns out in 4,5h

Only thing I’m missing here is an active matchup thread, I loved the one during RoF-GH-Dzag matchups, when it wasn’t turning into mutual accusations.

Just want to say a quick heads up and thanks to everyone for the fights over the last few days, been a lot of fun and the most even matchup I have been in for a long time, had a lot of fun, been a lot more large scale fights and Arbor have had some really big numbers during the morning / afternoon uk time.

Kudos to the small Arbor team at our BL hills when we took the keep back today you punted 5 of us off the cliff to our deaths while we were Mesmer sweeping, I couldn’t stop laughing all the way down, but I bet not as much as you guys did.

Great fights tonight on our BL and RoS we had a guild group out and had some great fights, kudos to (SOE) from GH I have alot of respect for you guys some nice fights with you around victors and blue lakes supply camp, most fun I’ve had in ages, hope it keeps up, shame we couldn’t get a smaller group fight with (fire) when we came after you on Ruins you ran back to victors camp so we left you be until you came at us over the bridge at bluewater tower but there was a Zerg there so you didn’t really stand a chance, hope this match up keeps at this pace some really good fights and open field tactics been used, we were brutally wiped when we got caught on the bridge between blue lake and hills by a Zerg from both sides couldn’t stop laughing about it.

Can’t believe how much fun it’s been so far let’s keep it going.

Pain inventer for the win, I run either stone armour or pain inverter depending on the situation, love pain inverter against rangers and theifs as soon as a thief jumps you use shocking aura, that should buy you a sec to cast pain inverter it’s still amazes me how many get excited and gib them selves and drop a ton of health before they realise (I’m only talking about WvW that’s where I spend most of my time). And if I run pain inverter I use tornado as elite as you can cancel it once active and keep the stability element of it.

I agree with what your saying, but bars using sweeping statements like he did is just not helping, as you have said the WvW players we have are great and it’s always sad when a commander feels this way, wasn’t flaming, and I know how frustrating it can be when people don’t understand the basics (taking supplies from keeps etc when there is no need to is my pet hate as I am one of the few who spend hours running around repairing upgrading, escorting etc.), but anyways left turn our attention to the other servers I hope he doesn’t disappear we need all the commanders we can get. But I don’t think flaming our own server on the forums helps that’s all.

Lightning Flash is a great skill, it’s not on my skill bar all the time, but combined with channeling skills it is very strong in PvP / wvw also it’s great for mobility if I am trolling people all over the map in WvW.

Must admit I tend to keep a low profile on the forums, but just wanted to say its been a great few weeks, our guild evenings out have been fun, and the afternoon time sessions have been great fun (even though running round on your own borderland repairing walls upgrading keeps etc. can be a very expensive thankless task, so a shout out to all the unthanked few who do this, we had about 5 – 6 of us on our borderland for most of the morning / early afternoon today). But all in all a really good few weeks, thanks for the little bags of loot and badges, I’m sure I gave more out than I received. See you all on the battlefield
