80 Sylvari Revenant
I spent some time grinding today in both PvE and WvW. I enjoy dropping chaos storm, following up with phase retreat, and drop a phantasmal warlock right away. On several occasions, I noticed that when I summoned the warlock, it didn’t appear as a phantasm, but a clone. Also, on a few occasions, it was summoned as just a normal clone.
Any information about this? This really affected my WvW play and prevented me from doing my damage multiple times.
Thanks for the feedback.
Here is my mesmer. Loving everything about her. Best GW2 decision I’ve ever made.
Everyone knows that traveling indirectly to Lion;s Arch is free. That is, one can easily enter WvW and travel through the Asura Gate. From LA, one can also gain access to any city free of charge.
This seems to come with two consequences. First, someone traveling in this manner is forced to deal with extra loading screens. Second, if WvW is packed, these quick travelers congest the queue and make the flow of WvW events unnatural.
I propose that there be a “Greater Waypoint” added in Lion’s Arch. The only distinguishing factor about this waypoint is that it can be traveled to free of charge. This would allow players to get to their destination with one fewer loading screen and have no effect on the flow of WvW traffic.
Any thoughts on this?
I have a new character that I’m currently leveling and I have been looking into potential level 80 gear. As of now, my account is far from wealthy and I’d like to put myself in a position to make money once I reach maximum level.
I’m currently wondering if its a worth while investment to build up some magic find. I’ve found some gear I can pick up from karma vendors once I reach about level 60 (a total of +28% magic find).
Will this small amount of magic find make any difference? Should I look into picking up some foods that will add to this existing percentage?
Thanks for the feed back!
I recently posted a topic asking the community what kind of Mesmer I should create, resulting in my first female Sylvari. She’s now level 44 and I’m looking into potential level 80 gear.
What armor sets do you think look best on such a character? Feel free to post images of your light armor sets, I want some inspiration! Thanks for your input!
I agree that this would be an excellent addition to the existing Guild Wars 2 content. I think that it should have the added feature of allowing players to preview gear, along with their corresponding stats.
Love. So much love.
From my experience with Mesmers, there are builds that spread confusion as a side effect of their other actions (combo fields, illusions, etc), while there are a few builds that focus on confusion itself (especially in pvp).
I see what you’re getting at with this idea, but I feel that implementing this new confusion function would completely change the way some builds function. Yes, the halting of actions is useful, but it utterly eliminates the potential for confusion based damage. This means a confusion mesmer would be dependent upon others to deal that needed damage.
What if confusion caused something in between? For example, what if confusion dramatically increased cool down times (similar to chill) while doing a reduced damage simultaneously. That is, casting an ability while confused would damage the user and put that specific ability on a longer cool down (how would that work with thief?). Or, committing the the chaos theme of a Mesmer kit, what if there was a random chance, while confused, to damage yourself, or cancel the ability, or something else.
Just some food for thought. I think this is a very interested question. I’m looking forward to see where this discussion goes.
I have a level 49 Asura mesmer and I find myself having a difficult time fully committing myself to his success. Mesmer is definitely my favorite of the eight professions, though I have never taken the time to get one to level 80. The problem I’m having with my current Mesmer is his race. I don’t really like his animations (on top of gearing him completely wrong). Each time I play, I find that I enjoy the skills and gameplay that comes with being a Mesmer, but am pushed away by the character himself. After much internal debate, I’ve made the decision to scrap the Asura and start anew with a new race.
To those of you who have an 80 Mesmer or feel as strongly about the profession as I do, what race would you suggest? This question is strictly in regards to cosmetic aspects like animations and clothing (including racial gear).
Thanks for your input!
As a player in a structured PvP match, do you find it more valuable to have a support mesmer or a dps mesmer on your team. The support mesmer would focus on interrupting and stacking conditions on enemies while loading team mates up with boons. The dpa mesmer would likely use a greatsword, or possible a sword and work on focusing down a single enemy before moving on to another.
My current build for my level 62 ranger is to choose pets that have the highest toughness as well as using a signet that increases that toughness even further. In doing this, I ensure that my pet takes as little damage as possible. At the same time, I use another signet that provides passive regeneration for my pet and I. The purpose of this combo is to keep my enemies’ attacks as useless as possible. By ensuring that each of their attacks to minimal damage, the passive regen from my signet will heal my pet for a significant amount of the damage initially dealt.
So far, this build has worked extremely well. The only real flaw is when enemies target me instead of my pet… I have noticed this is particularly bad with Risen enemies, who seem to be largely un-phased by my pet’s presence. When this happens, it doesn’t do much to limit the large amounts of damage I can deal, but it’s extremely risky because I’m much squishier than my pet. When I get into really dire situations, I am forced to used my elite skill, which conjures binding roots, allowing my to put some distance between me and my foe.
Any suggestions on what might solve this problem or just generally improve this build.
Tyro Bootcamp is recruiting! We are a brand new guild, currently with only 12 members. Our goal is to increase the size of the guild so that we always have at least a few players online. All players are welcome. We have avid WoW players as well as people who are brand new to the MMO genre. Some of us are level 80 while others are still in the low 20’s. Overall, it’s an extremely friendly group.
We are a PvX group and we have a large number of ranks to encouraging promoting. There are currently 10 ranks (maximum the game will allow) with rank requirements forcing older guild members to help promote newer member. Doing this ensures that there are no significant social barriers between guild members.
Post on this forum if you have any questions or are interested. I look forward to seeing you all online!
I agree with this idea. Too often I see someone with an amazing weapon, and I have no idea what it is.
Just so you guys know, there are asura gates all over the world. If you take the time to learn where they are, you can travel anywhere for under 2 silver at level 80 (which shouldn’t be a big deal). Here’s an example: If you’re in the brand and want to get back to Lion’s Arch, there is a gate in the southern half of the Brand. This gate sends you to Divinity’s Reach. From there, you can get to Lion’s Arch for free.
If loading screens are a problem, maybe you should look into getting a decent computer. Just sayin.
Being a ranger, the stats of my pet are critical to my success. For my specific build, I need a pet with the highest toughness score I can find. However, the pet interface does not make this process easy. I have to equip each pet individually and keep track of their numbers. Instead, I suggest adding a feature that allows players to sort their pets based on their stats. Want a pet that hits the hardest? Just filter your search to target high power pets.
Anyone support my idea or have any suggestions?
dallbee,
I am the guild master for a new guild named Tyro Bootcamp. We are a bunch of college friends who have been working for the past 3 weeks to develop our guild. We’ve been working extensively in designing a rigid guild ranking system with requirements that encourage players (both new and old) to participate in and host events. In addition, many of the requirements for higher ranks require cooperation with lower ranks. This is designed to minimize social gaps between ranks, improve overall guild social health, and generally promote guild progression. The guild is still very young and needs some work. We hope that it will be fully functionally soon.
My in game name is Saldarus. We are currently based out of Lion’s Arch, as it’s the most convenient location. Shoot me a message if you’re interested.
Hope to see you in game!
I’m still in progress of developing my guild. My friends and I developed a super system of ranks, which required a total of 11 ranks, with Guild Master being the highest. To my surprise, you cannot have more than 10 ranks. Is there any way to increase the number of ranks?
