Forbidden was founded in March of 2011 by a couple very much in love; of whom had met on an online game and traveled great distance to be together. Myself and my now husband Sylok formed Forbidden in hopes of making a guild that the game we played had never seen. A Guild based on friendship, respect, family, and an overall common goal of enjoyment of the game we played.

Forbidden started out in Red Stone; a low population 2.5d MMORPG. We quickly grew to be one of the most powerful guilds in the game. Upon being founded we quickly rose through the ranks and became one of only 4 guilds in competition for the one and only level 5 guild hall in the game. Our guild’s organizational methods and rank system had been foreign to the community of Red Stone. We sought out a very special kind of gamer to welcome into our family.

Forbidden’s time in Red Stone has passed (though some of us do occasionally still play from time to time) and we have set our sights on making our home in Tyria.

Why Forbidden?

Forbidden was a guild founded on the morals of respect and trust. We are friends first and foremost; a group of helpful and like-minded individuals that just enjoy playing together. We are active, social and laid back. We want to explore all Guild Wars 2 has to offer together, learning and growing together as a Family in beautiful Tyria.

What do we Expect?

~Forbidden recruitment is based on an application process. Please be sure to completely fill out your application using the application template provided.

~Forbidden is an English speaking guild. All communication will be in English. Please be sure you are able to fluently speak/type/understand English before applying.

~Respect is a huge part of what it means to be one of The Forbidden. Show it, know it, live it. Whether with our guild mates or other members of the Guild Wars 2 community, follow the golden rule. Treat others how you want to be treated. Trolls are not welcome.

~Maturity is something we seek while looking for new Forbidden members; however we believe that maturity is not limited by age. With this in mind, we do not have a strict age limit in place while recruiting. Strong language may be a common occurrence. You have been warned.

I am also a guild master that has had pretty good luck so far in recruiting for our little Forbidden Family. It seems though that there are just SOOOOOOO many guilds all of which seem to be offering the same things in the same way and its nearly impossible to tell if they are really going to provide those things or not. They all say “Close tight nit group” “more like family” “blabla benifits” “blabla active, growing blabla”. Dont just say these things but practice them. People can tell even from the outside if you are honest and sincere in what you say about your guild.

All i can say is dont give up. There are SOOOO many people playing. With numbers that large odds are that you would find some people (quality over quantity) that would fit well in your little group and be interested in being a part of what you are creating. Especially with server transfers still free the chances are pretty good.

Or… Since we are all pretty new to eachother and to the game you might want to consider for a while at least trying to join another guild with your little group. There are alot of good guilds out there im sure. You could take some time to get used to the game and learn a little about how another guild runs things and then later down the line give another shot at being the master of your own guild.

I fear with the ability to have multiple guilds it really does take away alot from the feeling of community among guild mates. There is no loyalty or feeling proud to be a part of something. If there is one tiny little thing someone doesnt like, having multiple guilds allows them to quickly walk away without giving any effort to stick around and work out the issues. It makes guild hopping so much easier and sadly more common.

I would very much like to see ArenaNet rethink the idea of multi guilding, but i dont forsee it happening. For now you can use that to your advantage though. Keep your guild you created for later and see what else is out there and gather ideas on how to make your own better.

lol rTeku Im not gonna try to tell you how to play your game but you really are cutting down your options greatly by not taking advantage of the free server transfers. You are more likely to find a guild you really feel at home with if you broaden your search to other servers too. Might be a good idea to be open to the idea :P

As far as i know (correct me if im wrong) the influence you gain is for your server only. If you move servers no, none of the guilds influence, or upgrades, would move with you. Unfortunate but it seems to be intended that way.

Make sure you are representing :P

If at the bottom of your guild screen you should be able to see a button that says stand down. If you dont and it gives the option of “represent” then your not representing and you wont have the ability to alter anything in your guild.

In a game like this dont much see how a monopoly is even possible. Its not like they can cut off all the drops of crafting materials from everyone else. A true monopoly would never happen. Inflation of TP prices does concern me though… I sure hope this is not their goal

I was thinking the same thing but i think for now its fine until they stop allowing free transfers between worlds. This way people looking to recruit dont have to skim every world topic to find possible recruits. I do however think that splitting them up between “looking for a guild” and “recruiting for a guild” would be a good thing
