Curious what server your on and if your willing to transfer. Also what kind of guild/content do you prefer?

Sadly no. Members on other servers will not contribute to your influence. Even if they are representing. Which is one of the main reasons why guilds only recruit on their own server.

Seems silly but i understand why they did it that way.

Sad but true. The only way to transfer servers is to pay the transfer fee now. So you might want to consider looking for a group on your own homeworld.

Yes this was definitely a feature that i enjoyed about GW2. Often i would see people post up legendary, exotic, or ascended items in town that i would enjoy being able to preview no matter what character i was on. If i were to have to switch to the appropriate character to view that item it would no longer be in the chatbox and i would need to whisper the person who had it to post it again or not be able to see what it looked like =/

Or as the OP said, when i find items that might be interesting on my other chars i would have to make the trip back to town to put it in my bank to preview it on my other character :S This would be alot of extra time and effort.

Was this intended? I would really appreciate being able to have this feature back ^^

Anyone else interested in seeing more guild emblem options?

Forbidden has been a well established guild for a few years now and we have always had our own guild symbol (Black Lotus) that we are very much attached to. Upon moving over to GW2 we had planned to start right away on getting the required guild upgrades to make our emblem, however, upon reaching our goal we realised there are no emblem templates that fit (or come anywhere close to) our lotus. We have held out on creating a guild emblem in hopes that eventually more options would be added, possibly even one that would be close to our fit our symbol.

A few other people i have spoken to have also expressed they wished there was more options available or they had the ability to upload thier own symbols to represent thier guild.

I was hoping maybe i could get some feedback on if this is possibly an option for the future or if maybe more templates would be added. Thanks in advance for considering.

You would like to be the lowest rank? lol your a silly one. Of course you would start out as the lowest rank. But would you want to stay there forever and not move up in the ranks to something greater?

Not many guilds it seems have ranking systems anymore. I suppose im a bit of a traditionalist in that way. Forbidden may not have all 10 ranks (as 5 seems to be sufficient) but we do have ranks and members are promoted as they achieve the requirements of the next rank.

We may be just your kinda guild :P But i cant promise you that you would remain the lowest rank forever haha.

You might want to consider broadening your search out into other servers while free server transfers are still available. There are literally hundreds of guilds out there that could be perfect for you but your not looking in the right place :P

~Respect is a huge part of what it means to be one of The Forbidden. Show it, know it, live it. Whether with our guild mates or other members of the Guild Wars 2 community, follow the golden rule. Treat others how you want to be treated. Trolls are not welcome.

~Maturity is something we seek while looking for new Forbidden members; however we believe that maturity is not limited by age. With this in mind, we do not have a strict age limit in place while recruiting. Strong language may be a common occurrence. You have been warned.

~Forbidden is an exclusive guild. Should you choose to be one of The Forbidden, please remain loyal. We are aware that Guild Wars 2 allows for people to multi guild, however we choose to remain exclusive to maintain the family like atmosphere.

~Forbidden has chosen only to recruit on our home world Yak’s Bend. If you are accepted please be prepared to play on our server.

~If you are accepted into Forbidden, you will be expected to be active in it. Join us on our guild forums, RaidCall channel, and in game. Be social with the other members; as we all look forward to enjoying your company!

~Being an experienced gamer is an asset, but in no way a necessity. We at Forbidden encourage gamers new and old to join us as we believe no matter how much you know, there is always something new that you can learn or teach to others.

While free server transfers are still available you might want to consider looking further than your own server for a good guild. There are so many guilds out there that might be just what your lookin for but your not lookin in the right place.

I would love for you to go into a bit more detail as to what exactly your looking for and a bit more about yourself. What are your normal playtimes and what timezone do you reside in?

Also remember that GW2 is a little different of a game than what most people are used to. The combat style is so dynamic and it is constantly keeping you on your toes. I find i have the same problem of guild chat in game being mostly dead because people are having a hard time stopping to type without dying. Most of our conversation happens on voice chat.

If you have a voice chat server for your group you will tend to have alot more conversation. This is why, even though voice chat is not a requirement in Forbidden, we still very strongly encourage it. Pressing one button to talk while your rolling and dodging is MUCH easier than trying to stop to type.

Also you might wish to lay down some rules with them about representing. I personally believe the ability to have multiple guilds in GW2 takes away from the quality of members. Takes away from the feeling of being a part of something. Takes away the loyalty. Sadly it seems to be allowing for people to guild hop with no penalty, making it extremely difficult to keep members active in your guild. For this reason Forbidden has chosen to be an exclusive guild and thus far we have had no problems at all with representation (except the occasional time someone makes a new alt and forgets to represent).

That also may be another reason why your guild chat seems dead. If people are not representing they are not able to see your guild chat and thus have no idea there is even a conversation happening. You are the guild master, you are the one putting together this group of people. You are the leader. Sometimes people need a little direction. Dont be afraid to give it to them.

Also as i said to another person who posted a topic very much like this one:

The game is still very new. Maybe it would be beneficial for you to take some time away from trying to build your own guild and go join another guild to get some ideas on how they are working things. Look for some examples of how someone else is doing it and succeeding so that you can alter your own approach to also be successful. Who knows, maybe in joining another guild you will find what your looking for without having to put in all the work to make it yourself.

Either way i do suggest keeping your guild around. If nothing else it will be free storage (if you have the guild bank already) for now. And later down the line when you feel your ready to give it another go (being all that much more wise) it will be there waiting for you.

I have noticed this as well Shooopa. There are many guild masters out there that dont seem to take their job very seriously. Hold your head up tho. Youll find the right guild in time.
