Hey check your PMs
lol a little more information than that might be helpful…. what are your normal playtimes? What kind of content do you prefer? What kind of person are you? 0,0
Wow. You are a ray of sunshine. I think your problem is not that your a female but how you treat other people who are only trying to help you.
Hey Samson. I sent you a PM check it out
No no no you got it all wrong. Its the Knights who SAY Ni! :P
This thread just proves the fact that different people think differently. I agreed 100% with what Vancien said in thier post when i first started playing GW2. But as time goes by i understand more of the other side of the coin too. If you are one of those specialty guilds then cool. If you a person that wants a different group of friends for each of your different aspects of the game then i guess that works for you. But if your a person who wants real, close, personal, FRIENDSHIPS with peole then youll probably be one of the ones that is interested in a group that has 100% representation required.
There are different types of guilds out there for different types of people. Cuz everyones different and wants different things. Some people are swingers, wont ever make sense to me but some people like that. Some people want to have multiple guilds, it may not make sense to me and i may not agree with it but i guess thats what works for them…
Find a guild thats offering the stuff you want. Find a guild thats asking the dedication you are willing to give. There are 1000s of guilds in GW2 to choose from. If your unhappy with the one your in maybe try something different. No point in arguing about it right?
I feel like im a little late to this topic and im just gonna be saying the same thing everyone else has said but yeah if your having that issue in your own guild then your definitely in the wrong guild. I am a very successful female guild master and we have several couples in our guild and we all treat eachother equally no matter sex or even game experience or ability. I think this is a matter of respect that is lost on the newer generations. Take a look on the forums for another guild that may better fit your needs.
As for if this is Anets fault lol. Im sorry if im being blunt but thats just silly. How is Anet supposed to be able to police every aspect of how people treat eachother in thier game? If you have any specific examples of someone harassing you or being verbally abusive in chat you are able to report them with the report function. Otherwise you are responsible for your own actions and so is everyone else. Anet is not.
If only you were ok with 100% representation, i would have sent you information for Forbidden. Good luck on your search tho. I have a feeling you guys are a great catch
Hey RainbowDash!
Sent you a PM. Check it out
Alot of people prefer guilds that require 100% rep because it often causes the group to be closer. As Aye said, if you dont want to be in a guild that asks for 100% rep then leave it. There are guilds out there better suited for you that wont have a problem with you representing another guild. I suggest looking for such a guild.
Good luck to you.
Still looking for great like-minded players to share the fun with. If you are outgoing, friendly and looking for a group you can really connect with come take a look at what we have to offer. You dont know how awsome it will be till you try
lol Tiger, you might want to give a bit more information than that. Try asking not what the members can do for you but what you can do for the members.
Yes when i read your post yesterday i wanted to snatch you up but i fear your playtimes are almost the exact opposite of ours. I do wish you the best of luck in finding the right guild for you though ^^
lol what server you on Starry?
As much as i understand the reason for shouting in a map chat i just cant bring myself to do it. I feel so… dirty… like im annoying all the people out there in that map with my spam (as they do to me all the time) and i wonder who looks at those messages anyway. Cuz i know i dont. I feel like its a very impersonal way to recruit.
Just my two cents :P
Forbidden is a great place to find everything your looking for. Beyond being active in GW2 exploring, guild missions and dungeoning together we also have our own private guild Minecraft server and run a guild D&D campaign on saturdays. Come join us and become one of the family.
Strawberries! lol i found that post to be interesting. My first time reading through it, i was like huh? Why would it matter what type of fruit the person likes. But sadly your right myenchangedlife. I think the guy just realised no one bothers to even read the LFG posts before copy/pasting thier guilds information in the topic. Ha! even saw one today that the guy was looking for some people to start a guild with and completely ignoring what the person was asking for it was another beautifully copy/pasted recruitment response. sigh
All of the things these people have said are great pointers and priceless information on how to get your guild started in the right direction. (and in reading this thread i feel like ive learned a bit too lol) Have faith. Faith in yourself and your ability to make it work and faith in your members that they will stick by you and make it work with you. Dont let bumps in the road get you down. Sometimes people leave. It happens. As myenchangedlife said, dont be afraid to say no and dont be afraid to let go of people that are just not working out. Quality is MUCH better over quantity.
Man i wish i had been able to be given this information when i first started out lol. Trial and error has gotten me this far. Youll have some of your own too. Just keep your head up and keep moving forward.
Well im sure they are out there. Guilds that prefer to use chat than to talk, however the majority of them are going to want you to be able to at least log into thier voice chat to listen in. Especially with a game like GW2 where combat is so dynamic and stopping to type for a second will surely get you killed its much much easier and better for fast and coordinated communication to use voice chat.
Might wanna give it a try. You might find that you actually like it :P
I started out my gaming career refusing to use voice chat. I saw it exactly the same as talking on the phone with someone and i DESPISE the phone with a passion. But as i got a group of people together that i really enjoyed spending time with i realized its nothing like talking on the phone. Sure you still have sometimes that awkward silence, or you both try to speak at the same time. Its an adjustment but its well worth it in the end to be able to hear thier laugh, hear the silliness in thier voices. I honestly can never go back :P
hahah! thankyou! finally someone who agrees with me that Quaggans are NOT cute! <3
lol yeah SirAmaik, i was actually considering inviting you to join Forbidden but again its on an american server so i didnt figure youd be interested.
Good luck tho, im sure theres many EU servers guilds that would be happy to have you
Check your PMs
Heya. Check your PMs
Edit: lol i just realized you said you were “STARTING” a guild. If this is the case i wish you all the best of luck. Recruiting is tough but dont get discouraged. If however you choose to be looking for a guild please look over the information i sent you ^^
Hey EDraggon. I would love more information. Forbidden is on Yak’s Bend and i want to know if you would be a good fit!
Ill PM you a bit of information about us and if you have any questions lemme know :P
Recruiting is difficult for everyone. Even the huge guilds that have 500+ members. I blame this mostly on the fact that server transfers are no longer free. Where i agree its better for WvW it also drops the amount of possible recruits i have down to only whos on my own server (or willing to pay the ridiculous price)
I do agree that it could be a good idea for you to consider trying to find a guild that fits what you want in one. Or as Ravyna said dont give up hope. Persistence is key. Keep putting your name out there and talking to people on your server. Although there may not be alot of people still looking for a guild, there are a few. Stay true to what you want your guild to be. It may take longer to find the right kinda people but think about how many people are playing GW2. With persistence your sure to run into some that want to join your cause.
Also another thing you should work out before you start recruiting is how you plan to run it. Many people will have more faith in a leader that seems to have it together, than someone just kinda feeling in the dark looking for thier way. Also remember that running a guild is not an easy feat and will take alot of your time. Be sure you are up for the responsibility it entails before bringing people together to be a part of something.
I am curious. What kind of guild are you planning on being? PvX? I read over your recruiting topic. It sounds great. I especially like that you are running it together as a team. My husband and i also run a guild this way and it really brings that family atmosphere out.
Anyway i wish you the very best of luck and if you have any questions i would be happy to help with anything i can. Although i am on Yak’s Bend lol. PM me any time
Strawberries!
lol just wanted to participate. I am curious tho… why do you not like voice chat? Its a great way to get everyone communicating on a more personal and close level. I have been closer to my guildies than ever before since starting to use Voice chat more regularly.
Anyway good luck on your search ^^
I know right? I was totally ready to snatch you guys up but i fear your playtimes would very different from most of my guilds. Good luck on your search!
Hey im curious what your normal play hours are. I think you could be a great fit for Forbidden. I sent you a PM. Check it out
You might want to mention what server this guild resides on as if someone from another server purchased it, it would no longer have any of those upgrades your using as your selling point. :P
Heya Check your PMs
I am of the mind set that although i am the leader, the guild would not be without its members. We are all important and play our part in making the guild what it is. This somewhat requires me to be a bit more strict on people keeping up with being active with the group (not in the hardcore must be there for certain events stuff but being active in being social on voicechat and on the forums). We have agreed we dont want a huge guild of members we dont know, but a smaller group of actual friends that really do enjoy spending time together.
Yes, where i do think its better for WvW that server transfers are no longer free, it does make it difficult when i find great people on other servers that i would love to have join the group. I wish influence would work cross server or that transfers were a little less pricey.
If you do consider it, keep in mind that we are on Yak’s Bend which is a high population server. Last i looked it up that was 1800 gems to transfer. Thats ALOT of money and i understand that. I will say tho that we chose from the beginning to be on Yak’s Bend and have been very happy here since. Pretty good community and some helpful players too. So if you can get past the initial cost, it could be a great place for you to be.
Come have some fun with us!
Aww too bad your on blackgate. You sound like the perfect sort for Forbidden. If you change your mind and want to consider transferring to another server lemme know
Good luck on your search and the guild you finally decide on will be lucky to have you
It might just be the server your on. I dont know much about Fort Aspenwood but i do know that there are lots of conversations happening and ive had more than a few good ones with random passer bys when im out exploring on Yak’s Bend.
I know it can be very expensive but you might want to take a look at options (for guilds) outside of your own server and if you think you could really get along with them put in the gold/cash to transfer to thier server to join them. Having a good guild with people your proud to call friends can make all the difference in the world. Cuz your right, if not for my family i would not enjoy playing this game at all.
I have a little group on Yak’s Bend if your interested in checking it out. Can always catch me in PM here on the forums or in game.
Good luck in your search and dont give up just yet lol. There is so much fun to be had in GW2, just gotta give it some time and find a good group to share the experience and fun with.
Uhh lol >.>

Who is Forbidden?
Forbidden is a group of online gamers; friends that are so close we are more like family. We joke, play and generally have a good time. We take our commitment to the family seriously however, and show each other respect and honesty. We make the best of every day we have together.
We are aiming for a casual gaming atmosphere with a bit of the hardcore values and attitude. Focusing primarily on PvE, WvW and crafting, we also have plans to dabble in sPvP and RP aspects as well. We really want to completely immerse ourselves in the world around us with our most trusted friends by our side.
We put in the effort to be the best we can be in all aspects of gameplay but we do so respectfully. We strongly believe that you can be the best as something without belittleing those that you beat. Competition can be healthy and fun too!
Forbidden History
Forbidden was founded in March of 2011 by a couple very much in love; of whom had met on an online game and traveled great distance to be together. Myself and my now husband Kayla formed Forbidden in hopes of making a guild that the game we played had never seen. A Guild based on friendship, respect, family, and an overall common goal of enjoyment of the game we played.
Forbidden started out in Red Stone; a low population 2.5d MMORPG. We quickly grew to be one of the most powerful guilds in the game. Upon being founded we quickly rose through the ranks and became one of only 4 guilds in competition for the one and only level 5 guild hall in the game. Our guild’s organizational methods and rank system had been foreign to the community of Red Stone. We sought out a very special kind of gamer to welcome into our family.
Forbidden’s time in Red Stone has passed (though some of us do occasionally still play from time to time) and we have set our sights on making our home in Tyria.
Why Forbidden?
Forbidden was a guild founded on the morals of respect and trust. We are friends first and foremost; a group of helpful and like-minded individuals that just enjoy playing together. We are active, social and laid back. We want to explore all Guild Wars 2 has to offer together, learning and growing together as a Family in beautiful Tyria.
What do we Expect?
~Forbidden recruitment is based on an application process. Please be sure to completely fill out your application using the application template provided.
~Forbidden is an English speaking guild. All communication will be in English. Please be sure you are able to fluently speak/type/understand English before applying.
~Respect is a huge part of what it means to be one of The Forbidden. Show it, know it, live it. Whether with our guild mates or other members of the Guild Wars 2 community, follow the golden rule. Treat others how you want to be treated. Trolls are not welcome.
~Maturity is something we seek while looking for new Forbidden members; however we believe that maturity is not limited by age. With this in mind, we do not have a strict age limit in place while recruiting. Strong language may be a common occurrence. You have been warned.
~Forbidden is an exclusive guild. Should you choose to be one of The Forbidden, please remain loyal. We are aware that Guild Wars 2 allows for people to multi guild, however we choose to remain exclusive to maintain the family like atmosphere.
~Forbidden has chosen only to recruit on our home world Yak’s Bend. If you are accepted please be prepared to play on our server.
~If you are accepted into Forbidden, you will be expected to be active in it. Join us on our guild forums, RaidCall channel, and in game. Be social with the other members; as we all look forward to enjoying your company!
~Being an experienced gamer is an asset, but in no way a necessity. We at Forbidden encourage gamers new and old to join us as we believe no matter how much you know, there is always something new that you can learn or teach to others.
~Every member of Forbidden has a voice and we expect you to use it. Help the group grow together by giving your input and being social with us.

Heya
Check your PMs
How do you feel bout transfers? :P
Check your PMs
There are alot of guilds out there that have no problem with double guilding, however some choose to remain exclusive because lets face it, a guild full of people not representing is not very much fun :P
It would depend on the guild you choose. Good luck in your search
Welcome to GW2! Check your PMs
We like to keep things pretty private around the forums so we are free to be our goofy and silly selves without the public seeing our more personal information. If you are interested in reading more information about us please register and you will be able to see the applicant areas.
It seems to be easier for applicants to navigate the forums if theres not too much information there to distract them from the important information in the rules and application process :P
If you have any questions, please feel free to PM me as i would love to chat with you and ill be happy to answer any questions you have ^^
Also if youd be interested you are welcome to join us on our Voice channel to meet the group and chit chat a bit. Just lemme know when you wanna do it
