Previous Bug Fixes and Design Philosophies:
Phoenix: Looks too much like an actual phoenix in Beta. We feel this will be distracting to opponents. Replace with skill “Sparrow”, fire a tiny sparrow that attacks foes in a line.
Fireball: Auto attack damage is too high in Beta, almost capable of half-thief dps. Nerf to slightly below ranger pet auto attack.
Dragon’s Tooth: A skill capable of doing moderate damage. This is unacceptable in PvP. Render useless by hovering in air for 4 seconds.
Meteor Shower: Instead of doing consistent damage to both opponents and objects, do extremely high damage to inanimate objects, and potentially 0 damage to opponents.
Ride the Lightning: A gap closer is too powerful on an elementalist. Make it only work on stationary targets, who are probably afk anyway. If used on a moving target, elementalist will be immobilized and dazed for the duration of the skill.
Churning Earth: A skill capable of doing moderate AoE damage on a long cooldown. Add extremely long and obvious casting animation to give opponents a chance to counter. We will be observing this skill closely, and perhaps fix a bug where players can teleport while casting.
Whirlpool: An elite skill feels elite. Albeit underwater, the on land skill is functioning as intended by making elementalist take more damage and making the torture end sooner. Change underwater version to reflect tornado.
Glyph of Renewal: Reviving is too much like a “healer”. Nerf to oblivion for now, possibly revisit in the future.
if it wasnt for real i would say its kitten funny…
well, better start leveling my brocolly mesmer, she has better damage, better defences, and better group support while wearing the same armor and can swich two sets of weapons… like the best of two worlds elementalist and thief in one class…

How can you not retrait if you want to go for anything that is an effective condition build?
It’s only 3.5 silver – which is only 3-4 high level merchant junk?
Arcane 30 is given. 20-30 Earth and others try around
Edit: Arcane 30 given Evasive Arcana will come back with blast finishers
really? 3.5 silver? I thought you have to buy the 2 gold book again in order to reset traits…
for 3.5 silver I can re-trait every time i want to do www, dungeon or anything else…

I have staff ele built for support/healing with 0/0/10/30/30 traits,
after the latest nerf I am thinking re-position myself as condition build ele, but not sure which weapons and trait to go.
I am not going to re-trait from 0/0/10/30/30 because it cost money and I am poor and cheap…

why not play both?
leveling is something which is way too easy in this game.
simply walking to a new area in the map awards you experience.
to level up fast:
1) complete the maps to 100%
2) do your personal story when it is around your level
3) buy gathering tools and gather every resource you see
4) join events→ even bronze and failures grant experience and karma
5) craft a little, for the sake of discoveries as they give double or tripple XP
chose jeweling + something or cooking +something.
I agree with the OP.
the dungeons are mess.
1) no real threat mechanic exist, there is a statement that it exists, but actually it is very very random.
even the rule that player who revive downed player jump to the top of the list is not true, you hit a huge crit on a mob, and it suddenly runs away and hits some guy in the corner.
sometimes you ‘range pull’ a mob, and it shows alone, the next time you ‘range pull’ the same mob and all the room jumps on you.
2) the trash mobs are too fast and the camera is bad even with the latest patch to the client
you enter an empty room ,and suddenly you are overwhelmed with Flash-Gordon mobs running with the speed of sound from corner to corner insta-gibbing everyone.
sometimes it is hard to escape crippled mob… they run so fast.
3) player character CC is inadequate.
poison sharing thief with basilisk venom, is useless, bosses are immune, he get stoned for one second, the trash mobs are so many, you stone one, the rest bury you with masses, and it is 45 seconds CD!
smoke screens (pistol 5/signet/ etc) are not good enough, they negate only one attack, its good for bosses, but useless on trash.
elementalist chill effect or slow effects is also 3 second chill max on half minute CD.
the stuns we have? 0.25 sec stun. is it a joke? it is not a stun it is interrupt, why call it a stun?
moa bird on three minute CC…
these are just examples how bad is the CC.
I understand that you cant remove cooldowns from players due to PVP, but seriously…
the player CC should affect longer on mobs, like ten times longer.

full healing gear (Cleric’s / Rejuvinating) dwanyas runes and Sapphire jewelry can make a pretty solid support build.
just dont forget your DPS, you have also power as one of the stats on the gear.

I have similar problem,
gigabyte 7850 2g RAM OC → latest drivers after new OS installation.
intel I5 3570 CPU
I tried to contact Gigabyte , they gave me a BIOS Update for my card, (F5_A) which didn’t help at all.
in the mainboard BIOS I have reduced the PCI-E generation settings, and it ‘lowered’ the frequency of the crashes
I can play two or three hours with no crash…
this is not overheating, I monitor and log the card and CPU temperature.
sometimes i crash at 64c and sometimes on 66c sometimes on 56c…
and these temperatures are considered low…
I didn’t get anything, so what?
I wasn’t expecting nothing.
its a chance, random, pure luck…
I gave up.
after i blamed the masses of charr and norns, I decided to wake up at 5am and try.
I wasn’t alone but three to four people were with me.
anyway, didnt help
I suck.
i don’t blame A-net. just my clumsiness.
it have to be little slower for me, I mean the fog that chase you…

I do have all the rest achievements and the titles.
from my experience
thief—> very hard to play, prepare to die a lot. even vitality/toughness build is glass cannon… best Elite skill in game (thief’s guild) mostly burst damage. if you managed to reach 80, people in sPVP will be scared of you for no real reason.
engineer—> very fun and nice
versatile class (different kits), steady damage. i enjoy it very much. roll char for racial elite skills.
elementalist—> staff for AOE + healing. scepter/dagger for burst, very versatile, contrary to popular belief, very sturdy and resilient class. best healer in game due to water fields and blast finishers.
worst elite skills in game.
ranger-> noobmagnet, very easy class with pet. get a shortbow and spam 1 and F2 when off CD. all the rest is gravy.
in PVP spam thorns (entangle) for easy win.
my mesmer is very low level, so i cant review it yet.
WOW has very bad system, its stupid and train players to be lazy and rude.
one of the better and the simplest methods is the one DDO uses.
I strongly believe that if such simple system will be introduced to GW2 it will make the game more social and player friendly.
I believe that the biggest issue is that elementalists elite skills don’t worth the skill points we spend on them.
if only we had a decent elite skill, or we were able to put utility skill in elite slot…

staff gives us quite decent support builds/AOE builds
and scepter dagger is a viable dynamic close-range pwnage.
but the lack of a good elite skill (see moa bird or thieves guild etc…) dragging us below other classes

make the elemental do more damage, or have more HP…
the fire elemental die very fast, the earth elemental doesnt do any damage. ice elemental nice for a surprise small healing… but air elemental is good for nothing…. total waste of a cast-time

mm, ok, I understand that this skill exist only for the underwater skill… and it was nerfed recently, why? either return the old damage or let us cast our spells in tornado form.

anything else and it is WORSE than lightning hammer, which is a regular utility skill with lower CD…
I see ‘/?’ in the last bar of the monthly achievement.
everything else is full.
and it shows seventy something percent completed.
I didn’t do WvWvW last month, so i don’t know if this bug is consistent.

the problem as i see it is that even if you build ‘support only’ spec (elementalist, 0,0,10,30,30 staff), and wear +healing only gear, it is not enough healing to be able to keep alive other players by yourself, even if you blast every water field you put.
the cooldowns for heals are so long and the regeneration ticks are so low… that players must heal themselves in “spike” moments, and most of the time remove their own conditions.
the dedicated healer is kittening himself in damage and still cant heal properly as in classic MMO.
IMHO the +healing stat coefficient that affect regeneration should be higher- 50% as higher to be efficient, or the cooldowns for “direct” heals be shorter→ lets say as a 30 point major trait.
p.s. i have such elementalist purely for group healing, and I cant support dungeon run as good as i can as a dedicated healer in different MMO …

what do i need a “Glyph of renewal” for? if not for rezzing dead people? another useless skill in the elementalist arsenal.
nerfing whirlol? nobody cares because nobody use this skill out of the water (yes the only underwhater skill for elementalists is nerfed).
nerfing pistolwhip? the ‘trivial to dodge’ skill that roots you in place for like five seconds and makes you vulnerable to anything? thats just show arenanet cave in to the crying masses… what about “whirling axe” ? ah, this one is perfectly fine, yes?
you call this balance? this is a joke.
why dont you balance classes that have range, damage, roots and pets at the same time instead…
sometimes, it is better not to touch something that it is not broken.
this is very very long part of the story,
the problem is when some part bugs out completely or the client disconnects, I have to do everything again and again from the start…
there is a bug on the cinematic cut scenes that sometimes they don’t start or disconnect after they finish
the part when you reach the blocked path, the cut scene don’t start, because the priory guys don’t move and don’t follow me, I had to start all over again.
then the next time, I reach the end, Mr broccoli head gives his speech, and the game disconnects before the grand finale…
really frustrating!!!!!
this part should be cut to several parts, if i finished one, it should remember that i did it..
P.S.
there is also the issue that after weekends almost all world events and skill points are bugged …
please restart the servers once in a while…
events and skill challenges should reset themselves after few hours
some events or skill challenges are getting broken, the NPC missing or not moving.
and it is fixed only after server restart.
for easy fix this , every event and skill challenge should reset automatically after few hours. (hard fix is to remove the bug

easy and intuitive LFG/LFM tool for dungeons
today players spam the local chat with LFG shouts, this is bad because there are players in different maps, and the local chat is spammed.
there are very few dungeons in this game, so implement a very easy tool every player that want to join a specific dungeon will start dungeon group that will state the dungeon and the mode (story/explorer) and other people will see the group and join, the creator of the group will accept or reject request.
(very similar to Turbines DDO LFG tool, which is the best LFG tool in any MMO I ever seen.)

agree, it is set to support the initial rush of new players in the area,
but when the majority has leveled up and left the area the mob respawn rate remains high….
which can be tough….
the respawn rate should be determined by the ammount of players in the map

Does my special trait abilities affect combo effects ?
for example:
lets say I have spent 10 points to earth to get elemental shielding (grants 3 seconds protection on auras )
and I put Ice area and arcane blast for finisher , so everybody gets frost armor aura combo effect.
will they get also the three seconds protection?
if I put a water area, and then use projectile finisher, will the regeneration be affected by my boon bonus duration?
will the regeneration be affected by “cleansing water” trait and remove condition?
