I’m running Hide in Shadows with D/P / SB. Fire / force and bloodlust. Are we talking sPvP or WvW? Either way, for sPvP, I’m running scholar’s and for WvW I can’t seem to do enough damage running valk / soldier. I don’t feel comfortable without Blinding Powder, so I guess I’m a stealthy thief?

Sitting in black powder shot only gets me killed because they step out of it, or I think hundred blades gets rid of that first tick of blind.

So I’m trying to L2P. Tell me how this works because I melt every time a warrior touches me. I’m running D/P 0/30/30/10/0. When they get low Endure + run the fk away, as well as immob usually pwning my face. Also, mesmers suck

I have an Asura Thief, and I’ve been trying to do the short HS trick. I can’t seem to get it even if I point my camera straight down, I still get normal length HS. Is there a trick to it?

Thanks! I’ll definitely be watching that! I started to watch Yishi’s stuff and they’re really helpful. I jumped into sPvP yesterday and felt SUPER lost, and I didn’t know what I should be doing.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows of where I should look for general pvp tips for Thieves. In terms of sPvP, map tips and in terms of general pvp/wvw, how to engage targets, priority classes, anything. It doesn’t have to be all encompassing, I just feel sort of lost because I’m just starting, and every class pwns me off the bat.

My main gripe about zergs is that I can’t see anything, as AoEs are going off all over the place, as well as GPU / CPU taking a massive hit. That makes it really not fun for me. I ran into one of the portal events that had about 10 people, and that was the best experience ever. It felt like I had a presence and doing something.

As for shortbows, yes I have been using a shortbow now because of the massive amounts of zerging required to finish this living story event. I can’t wait for it to be over so I can switch back to daggers.

Now before you guys go on about “What class are you?” or “You’re playing the wrong class! Roll an Ele!”, I’m playing a Thief and it is my favorite class EVER.

When I get into these events, whether it’s the Queen’s Pavilion or Clockwork Chaos, you get a massive zerg of hundreds of people, and I get about 5-12 fps. This combined with the fact that I cannot AoE worth a crap, I’m stuck standing at 900 range, spamming 3 with pistols. Teleport in with daggers and eat a couple 5000dmg attacks in a row and drop before I have a chance to react due to crap framerate.

Seriously, where is the fun in that? This past month has got to be the worst month for living story ever. The gauntlet was cool, but I hate how you get to see the crap going on under you and messing with framerate. Aside from the fact that you HAVE to do this piece of crap event for 45 whole minutes. God forbid you get disconnected or worse yet, crash in the middle of it. You log back in and don’t get any credit at all.

So tell me, please enlighten me on how zergs are possibly fun.

I was just wondering if anyone has an Alienware M11x. I’m getting extremely low framerates especially in zergs, and it makes the Crown Pavilion almost unplayable. I have to switch to some ranged weapon and just shoot. Otherwise getting up in their face makes no sense as it goes to somewhere like 5fps.

I don’t really have 3, but I’ll post my top that I want.

1) 5v5 Deathmatch PvP mode like in GW1. Random / Team Arena style.
