I second the remove the trebuchet point. It only detracts from the map.

Looked more closely at build and it’s terrible.
Druid is fine. It’s not the best right now nor is it the worst. 1v1 means nothing in this game and that spec you linked is not that impressive outside of that context. Imo Druid is at an appropriate power level along with revenant and reaper. The rest of the classes should be brought on par with these 3 (either buff or slight nerf).
Stronghold just needs some adjustments and I could see tournaments working

I had thieves in all of my 6 games last night. Zerker warriors in 2.
I think SH is more popular than forum warrior think. I have had no problem getting qeues (usually 1 min or less). All of my friends I play with much prefer it to Conquest. Part of this is that you can guarantee that you don’t get the terrible maps (Silent Storm, Kylo).
For many, Conquest is just a poor copy of other games’ pvp maps (i.e. WoW, Rift, etc.).
SH is far from perfect but, its a refreshing and unique take on MMO pvp and has a lot of appeal to those of us with some MOBA background.
If you don’t like it, don’t play it, but I think the game type is great.

Still waiting for Health Bars! At least in PvP give us this option.
I don’t think revenant is OP at all, and I don’t play it. Herald might be a bit, but for reasons unrelated to Sword 3.
IMO that is a great ability that should be kept just as is.
Had some issues as well.
IMO, two simple things would help this map:
- Remove Trebuchet (I hate these on every non WvW map)
- Add a ten second channeled recall so that defense is more plausible. This is a key feature of the MOBA inspiration of the game type and would help create more actual PvP.
Could it be better? Yes.
But it is a hell of a lot better than Conquest. I have that box unchecked since SH came out.
I really like SH, much more so than conquest (which just seems like a poor imitation of WoW’s Arathi Basin). There are definitely some tweaks that Anet should make but I think this game type has a lot of potential. Anet should focus its effort here imo.
Imo conquest is boring anyway, Anet should balance around SH and WvW. Super bunker builds are only good in conquest because of the circle capping mechanic.

I feel that that verdant etching is too strong to give up for ns. I run staff / s+ wh for pvp so I have access to swiftness anyway. Seed of life being a light field makes verdant etching even stronger as I can use Astral grace or call of the wild to blast it for area retaliation.

It will come. Definitely a better game than circle fight in my opinion.
Druid has virtually no stability. CC, chill, and slow are all very effective against it.
I think it has about the same hp as the bear. Regardless, pets die way more quickly and frequently in HoT pvp than they used to. It really is something that should be addressed.
I have started using brown bear because of the condo clear but also because it is the only class of pet that can survive a Condi dump from signet of renewal.
I’m loving playing a healing Druid in pvp. It really shines if you coordinate with 1 or 2 friends playing dps builds. The heavy daze it can out out is very strong in team fights as well. Overall I am very pleased with how the Druid is performing.
Totally agree with OP. Would allow many more counter builds. It’s not impossible to balance, many games do it.
How about:
“Attacks for five seconds after entering berserk form are unblockable” Conditions have reduced effectiveness (-20%) while in berserk form.
Yea Beastmaster feels pretty lame now. Only Smokescale did decent burst damage before its more recent nerf (“change”). Cats still are pretty good but die so fast in PvP they are hard to use.
Wyverns and Bristleback are unusuable in PvP because of poor mechanical implementation.
So situational I no longer have a use for it.
Still makes Enlargement worthless though.
Pretty sure water sigil does.
IMO, there are better classes but ranger is fairly fun. Shortbow is terrible though. No getting around that.
Regardless. They have twice as much HP in PvE. For some reason the Devs had decided that pets need to extremely fragile in PvP. So much so that they die to random AoE in a matter of seconds.
Just play stronghold. More fun than fighting over circles IMO.
Signet of the Wild is still broken with CAF.
New bug: Glyph of rejuvenation has a longer cast time in CAF than it does out of the form.
I should also note that this problem is especially pronounced when using Glyph of rejuvenation, as it does not heal your pet (intended?).
Can we get other pet abilities that are as responsive as smoke assault was? Because I miss it terribly.
I will miss the smoke scale. Smoke assault F2 was like the only pet ability that actually felt responsive.

Since the smoke scale change today, I have swapped out the Smokescale (22k hp) for the Tiger. (15k hp) What I have noticed is that my tiger dies extremely fast to random AoE. SS wasn’t great, but that extra HP made a difference.
15k hp for dogs and cats was fine pre HoT, but the new elite specializations combined with the condi changes make for an extreme amount of AoE damage in the current meta. 15k hp literally disappears in a couple of seconds without the pet ever being targeted by anything.
IMO all pets should have their base HP buffed by 20 or 30% in PvP. This would put their survivability on par with pre HoT.
Not a fan of these changes. Can you fix Bristleback to actually hit its target? That way we might still have a new pet that has some burst damage.
I much prefer it to conquest as well. No fighting over silly circles against unkillable tanks.
I do think a couple of improvements could be made.

I also think scaling death timers (i.e. moving from 15 to 30 seconds as the game progresses) would help make the endgame a bit more strategic.

You have your smokescale back. Don’t pretend to speak for everyone. A lot of people enjoyed more it with smoke assault as the F2.
The vast majority were asking for the tactical skill instead the “hit all the buttons as soon as they go out from cool down” one.
also i can’t understand what motive can have the ones that are asking for a brainless burst on command. The logic dictated that the machine is going to be more efficient using that kind of skill that is independent from the environment and is meant only for casting it as soon as is available.
The same logic dictates that one utility skill that is very positional the AI will not be able to use it efficiently. Mostly it will be a liability in form of losing DPS and masking other fields.
Simply i can not find any logic behind the “I want a dummy button to hit as often as i’m able to” . Unless you play ranger occasionally to farm the Mad ’s king lab there is no logical explanation for that. Even the class itself, the ranger and the druid does not work like “i hit 1 to 0 like a piano” … Which could explain why i keep seeing players using the LB#4 like is an AA….
This change is for better, i wish the could do the same for any other pets.. Especially the birds.. I hate to have to keep watching the CD in the F2 of the eagle, i would like so much more if i could have the swiftness there…0
First of all, claiming that these forums represent a vast majority of the Gw2 player base is absurd. Try a tiny fraction.
Second, the burst damage from smokescale WAS tactical, perhaps in a different way than a smokefield, but it allowed for a coordinated burst of damage do down an isolated enemy in PvP. In PvE, the majority of players are casual and probably don’t even know what a combo field, let alone a smoke field, is.
Edit: I should also note that F2 smoke assault had great synergy with WHaO and “Sic Em” which has been totally destroyed by this change.

Swap it back! I want my on demand burst that actually hits, unlike almost every other pet.
Smokefield active is so awful.
How about we stop complaining on the forums and let Arenanet do their job.
