I downloaded the patch and came in understanding nothing. therefore i have sevveral questions:
1. Do i have to have same cosmetic look in PVP and pve?
2. where is my 5 extra free transmutation charges?
3. most other stuff XD
1 Yes
2 Click on the trading post (or press O) go in the Special tab, click on the orange button with 0 gems you see under the Transmutation Charges.
3 It’s not that difficult..
Immobulus is way too expensive. 250 giant eyes for a simple exotic is insane!
I’ve already said this so many times in the other threads, I totally agree. This kind of bosses need to be instanced, if you want to create content that requires a lot of oganization.. you NEED to put them into instances (the level of the Marionette was totally fine for open world events, but that is the limit).
Plus, the Wurm and Tequatl right now keep on beying killed only thanks to the guilds that invest their time to organize everything, it’s fun to play with them even if we get nothing (I mean… the loot is basically non existent, really).
If you make it so that we will log in random maps without knowing who will be there, this basically makes everything just a massive pug zerg.

I have absolutely nothing againt TTS. But in fact, it was nothing more than a band-aid for a borked raid encounter.
I am happy they fixed the borked encounter, if it works without a band-aid now, why would I be sad?
They didn’t fix the encounter, instead I guess they’ll have the opposite effect if every guild will stop doing Tequal and the wurm because of the stress it will cause to organize everything. We can say godbye to the wurm, maybe only Tequatl will still be killed on some lucky servers since it requires less people.
The wurms have never been killed on my server, and Tequatls sits in his cage for 15 minutes since he was patched.
At least people will get a chance to just spawn in the right instance full with people to actually do the event. Success or failure is secondary. There will be an event, not just a deserted boss fight.
People who want to do the world event will come together without any artificial step, which is the first step into the right direction.
Those who really wanted to do the event could already guest on the servers that organized it, it’s not hard.
Also, unorganized zergs that will try the wurm and fail the first times will just quit for good, so things won’t change.
Yes, you need to log in every character that has WXP and it will be automatically added to you total account WXP.

Eeeeehh…
Nope. By “dead weight” I mean players who’re contributing to the event as much as if they were dead bodies; another poster once described them as “20 AFK players hidden on the bottom of a lake”. And by no means “randoms” or “casuals” who’re trying to enjoy the event at their best are a “dead weight”.
There is more than just the one event taking place in any given zone/map. It does not do your position any good to insult or negatively label people who may very well be in the zone playing the game as intended by pursuing hearts or other events. It creates the impression that you believe that you have a monopoly on the, “right way,” to play the game and that anyone who does not play as you do is deserving of scorn and ridicule.
I am not saying that this is intended, but thought you might want to know how it comes across.
I’m perfectly aware of it (and I even have a whole thread about it); there’s “play how you want”, but that works both ways. 100 people want to slay Tequatl; 10 people want to do hearts; 10 people want to forget their chars at waypoint and go watch TV. 20 people “play how they want”, 100 people “fail to play how they want” because of the first 20. Who is to blame for it?
ANet. For designing the boss to require a whole map of suboptimal players but introducing counter-productive goals and failing to provide ways to access it as an instance so everyone is happy.
Exactly. An easy example was the latest living story we have seen… playing in the late morning I’ve often seen big groups of people farming champions bags, and that’s ok, but when the knights event was about to start we sometimes asked to come and help for those 15 minutes so that we could try to kill Scarlet. Well… most of the times people would just start arguing in the map chat and those who were farming bags would just ignore the event, so we were forced to just focus on the red knight to try to get at least some power cores. I know, they’re not forced to partecipate… but this usually caused the failure of the event for the rest of the players.
With world bosses will be the same, afk and low level players are totally right to say that they are not obligated to join the fight, but at the same time if Arenanet really wants us to keep on doing the world bosses.. they need to find a solution.
Just move Tequatl and the Great Jungle Wurm into a 150 players sized dungeon.
(If this is a concern, ask for ANet to modify the event, rather than pretend that it NEEDS 150 perfectly coordinated people. The map doesn’t belong to anyone, raid guild, or event group. I frankly doubt they playtested it with such an absurd requirement.)
If the event is made easier, it effectively negates the entire reason for the guild’s existence. TTS and other guilds were organized specifically for these very difficult encounters. Without them, these communities would be destroyed.
TTS killed wurm last night with 5 seconds to spare. If even 5 people out of the 150 map cap were not in teamspeak doing exactly what they were told, it would have failed. Nearly everyone there was already familiar with the fight – if there were even 5 randoms not from TTS who had never done a serious attempt before, it would have failed. The encounter was designed to be this difficult purposefully – go back and read the dev comments on it at release if you don’t believe me.
Beating the encounter as is feels like a huge accomplishment because it is so difficult. Taking that difficulty away would mean that there’s no need for TTS anymore. The stated goals of this update include bringing communities together. Making wurm easier would destroy the TTS community.
This, the Wurm so far is only doable by organized guilds. If the maps will always be half full this events will be abandoned because of the frustration it will cause to try to take 130-140 guild members on the map.
About the waypoints, I think that four in each map should always be uncontested, one in the nortern, souther, western and eastern part of the maps so that we can easly walk from there to wherever we have to go.
About the big boss events: what worries me is that we won’t be able to find empty server maps or overflows, big guilds will have a really hard time fitting 150 people for a boss fight if the maps will always have at least 30/40 players on. Please give guilds the option to create an empty overflow to host this events.
For the future an easier solution could be instanced boss fights. It would be much faster and less frustrating for guilds to just create a private group in the lfg window (with password and maybe visible only to selected guilds). I think it could give you also more freedom of choice for the style of the location and the mechanics of the fights, this would make the fight much more epic
It’s a pvp JP, what did you expect? people from different servers sitting together for a cup of tea? I got killed hundreads of time by zergs, that’s how it goes. As others said, you have time until the end of May to do the JP achievement… try when there’s less players or when your server organizes a group to kill at the respawn point.
Ganking people in a JP is not PvP. It’s griefing. Since my last post in thread like this got infracted and had the thread deleted I will refrain from statement true feelings about these types of players.
If you are tired of getting grieved in the JP do like me and don’t set foot in it or wait until week 8 of the season to get it, by then these JP campers will have gotten bored and will have moved on to something else.
Nope, griefing is using something as it shouldn’t be used to harass people, for example using a glitch or a bug. Killing people in a pvp JP is part of the mechanic… you want to block other server’s players from doing it and so you kill them, you activate the traps when they’re passing by, you push them down… I’ve been killed so many times but if I see it’s impossible to do something in that moment I just go somewhere else and try again later, crying on the forum is useless unless there’s someone exploiting a bug to ruin your game. Today on the Seafarer’s rest map someone was asking for help because they were zerged on the JP… it happens to anyone, stop whining.
It doesn’t bother me 1 bit. I don’t set foot in the JP’s cause I don’t like JPs to begin with and those in the WvW maps even less. I do find it cheap play the camp them, I believe it takes a special kind of person to enjoy doing so.
I suppose you haven’t played many rvr games.

I really think that map completion should still reward us with at least two transmutation charges, otherwise this new system instead of giving us more freedom will force us to stick with the skins we have during the whole levelling phase.
Otherwise, keep on giving us transmutation stones and only change the crystals into charges. We will decide if we want to trade the 3 stones to get one charge or keep the stones to apply skins for characters below lvl 80.
Grenth Hood and Deathly Mantle Skin please^^
I’d like to have it back too.

Would be nice to have an official answer on how long we have to keep all these items stored :/
You killed a clever clone of Scarlet’s, while the real one escaped through that cave.
/nods sagely.
Oh no please, enough of Scarlet!
Enough! Enough! Enough!
If you have the sprocket generator in your home istance, gathering you may get a blade shard. It’s really slow but it’s the only way now I guess.

All we need is a reporting option for this, and then ANet needs to make it clear that intentionally trolling encounters will always result in a 4 weeks ban first time, permaban second time.
Because really, I don’t think they should cut down on encounter behaviour for this. Don’t try to fix human stupidity, it won’t work.
Yeah, I just noticed yesterday that there’s not an option to report someone who tryies to make an event fail intentionally.
Yeah, it seems to drop much less :/
In a few days Glory will not be awarded anymore and I suppose also Found Belongings will be removed after the LA event will be over (unless LA will stay like this forever…), so I was thinking that it would be nice to add new ways to buy the Tomes of Knowledge.
For example you could add them to the Temple’s karma vendor for something like 40k karma, or to another vendor for 5-10 skill points.
Thanks to this tomes I’m finally enjoying again some levelling, visiting the low maps, following the storyline and when there’s a gap of a few levels to go on i just use one or two tomes
it’s much more relaxing and it could push players to buy more character’s slots.

thanks Arenanet. Can’t wait for the future.. you know what
To be honest I’ve never bought armor skins because spending 10 euros for a single use skin is too much. Instead, if I could withdraw the skins any time, I’d probably buy several armors.
bringing back awards cheapens everything :(

Thing are getting so expensive that I really don’t see the problem in bringing back some items during the year. I really hope to see again also some skins in the gemstore that I couldn’t buy at the time, like Kasmeer staff.
the reward should be personal based on the amount of positive things YOU did while being in the map…
Killing of an Enemy = 1 Point
Killing of an Enemy Veteran = 2 Points
Killing of an Enemy Champion = 5 Points
Find Rubble = 1 Point
Reviving a dead NPC = 2 Points
Encouraging living NPCs to flee and they flee successfully: 3 Points
Defending successfully a Miasma Event/Escort: 5 Points
Doing a Jumping Puzzle: -50 Points (you’re there to defend, not to jump around)
Doing a Vista: -10 Points (you are there to defend, not to look around in the Sky)This way would be everyone enouraged to do everything there is to defend the town as effectively as possible to be reward individually at the ent as best as possible knoweing, that the reward at the end matters as a result of 100% of your own influence and not less then 1%…
Cutting down the required points from 1500 needed to 500 or so as a sum for the individual points needed to receive the max reward.
This! I tried spending 40 minutes reviving and escorting npcs but it’s useless if the other just want to zerg and loot the bags.

I really like the Howler so I’d say that and… the Juggernaut :P
I always wanted to have a war fan on the mesmer since I saw the artwork of the class, a whip would be nice too.
A) If LA will really be totally different from now on. If it’s going to turn back as it was before after a few weeks I’ll change my vote in C.. i don’t care.
If devs decided to destroy it, I hope it will stay this way forever … I’m tired of living world events that don’t change in any way the world. They could create another open zone with new bosses and events in the Old LA, and create a “new LA” somewhere else. There’s a lot of space on the maps that we haven’t seen yet… it’s time to expand it.
No way! Change of the world isn’t about destroying core and historical places of the game. Those world changes meant to improve, not to make everything a wasteland.
By the way, there is a huge map with huge undiscovered area, those needs to be made.
The only way we can feel the Living World is if we can conquer and build it!
So very most of us are waiting for the new and improved Lion’s Arch!
Of course I would prefer if they started expanding the map right away instead of destroying Lion’s Arch, but since they have already decided… I think it would be much more realistic if LA stayed destroyed (at least for several months), it’s not possible to rebuild the whole city in a month. This could also force the races of Tyria to explore in search of safer place… something similar to what happened to Ascalon after the Searing.

Can we have unlimited uses on armor and weapon skins? Gems are not that cheap, If I buy a skin I’d like to be able to withdraw the single pieces as many times as I want, like the ones we unlock with achievement points (and those are even free).
You can’t force people to play how you want them to play, it’s psychology and not difficulty, you don’t have the precious kick button like when you’re running dungeons, in the open world you can’t do that, that’s why this kind of content should be instanced, because the guys in my server won’t listen to me since it’s full of farmers that spam 1, i don’t even lie, Jade Sea isn’t as good as it was before (they still fail Tequatl most of the time), yet even if i go to another server i will have the same problem, that’s why we need this to be instanced with the option to start the event when we want so we can play with the people who listen to us, and eventually train the newbies who want to learn without any problem.
That is how it’s meant to be. You are not supposed to kick people. You are supposed to unite the community and get everyone to work together. Everyone is equal, all have access to the same area. That is part of the challenge. Well, except if you are an elitist guild and you create an overflow instance just for yourself.
Desolation people who finished it showed true dedication and a lot of effort and they earned that kill.
If someone needs to look for a random overflow to fill with guild members before random players get in, it means that something is wrong. Arenanet has to decide if they want this content to be available for anyone and with a medium difficulty, like the marionette, or if this has to be a hard boss to kill with a lot of organization. In this case we need some sort of instance or they should give us an option to create our own overflow.
The true devoted players are those who are not in big servers with big pve guilds and are considered less compared to big guilds, and yet they still play.
Still, I think it’s crazy that it’s necessary a whole overflow with 150 people on TS to beat this kind of bosses. Make them an instance is you want strategy, because now it’s just a big mess.
This is ridiculous, what we really need is to be able to switch any build/trait with a few clicks like it was on GW (no need to say, for free..). We need to have more variety of builds, otherwise the game becomes utterly static.
Any ascended weapon/armor I’ve seen so far is just horrible, what happened to the art design team?
Why did you cut my last words ? I said also :
" Ppl will learn the fight asap then all overflows can kill it.. Thats all about ! "
So guesting is your friend for now m8 until it fixed.. Thats what i’m saying.
I quoted, probably you added the phrase a few seconds after. Anyway you still don’t get my point.
To be short, if the event is designed to be made by a group of 80 players level 65… I think there is a problem with the difficulty scaling. There is no way a group of 80 players lvl 65 can do this.
The strategy is clear to most of us now, but still… the event should scale up or down better considering that not all the players in the event will be doing dps all the time, and considering that it’s not an event lvl 80. If you have 150 players lvl 80 the difficulty is right as it is now, but I really want to see 80 players lvl 65 doing this.
We killed it in 10 min
I know you need SS so here you go…
On an overflow with few people and pug?
I can say kinda cuz we “overflowed” by other servers by guesting also a lots of new ppl but we explained tactic and managed after 1 fail. And yes there was no guild teams so you can say that was random pug.
If you need to move an entire 100 people to a chosen overflow, or have to stand around for 2-4 hours before you are sufficiently organised to beat one boss, then the event is a massive fail. After a few weeks are you still going to want to spend your limited leisure time standing around in a game doing nothing?
Of course there will always be some ‘hardcore’ players that will do this sort of thing, but they are probably the same ones that do the same fractals day in day out, doing them so often they develop muscle memory movements.
I guess it not hard to understand.. Yes we couple ppl explained tactical fight to ppl.. They were total random at Desolation Main Map. NOT our server guild teams. Like %60 from Desolation and %40 from guesting. And our %60 was not pro players anyway.
So killed with random ppl and with proper tactic in 10 min. So I’m sayin its all about learning and executing the proper fight tactic so all can kill in 10 min or 15 min doesnt matter.
You can argue what ever you like but it possible in 10 min or i belive it can be killed even less time!
You probably don’t understand. Do that fight with 50 people in 15 minutes, see if you can.
Who cares doing it with 50 ppl tbh.. Come join us for the fight.. As we are talking here we killed it again!
You may not care, but those who are on a low populated server that is not lucky enough to be chosen as the host for a big guild to kill tequatl, will never be ablo to do anything. Plus, most of the overflow has few people. This doesn’t mean that people cannot play, I’ve seen a great fight on an overflow.. the turrts users were amazing, the stacks never went above 8 and the dps in front of the dragon was good without many deaths. Still, in 15 minutes we were able to bring him only to 55% because of simple DPS.. so numbers are important and this should be addressed as a problem. This event is designed as a 65+ lvl content for around 80 players… but right now if you don’t have 150 players lvl 80 full exotic and maybe with some ascended gear + food and buffs.. you probably wont make it.
That’s all I’m saying, the fight is really fun but it should scale better to the number of people. If there are 100 players, almost half of them will be defending the turrets and half will be doing DPS, so the HP of the dragon should scale to 50 players. If we have 150 players the HP should scale to around 100 players because nearly 50 will always be busy with turrets and fingers.
We killed it in 10 min

So it wasn’t killed on Desolation. Anyway, since we were talking about low populated servers I really doubt it makes any difference talking about how fast that kill was made. with few people is still impossible because all you need is dps except for the turrets users.
Mate
it killed on Desolation main map not at overflow so
and yes there was ppl form other servers and we explained tactic to them as a Desolation.
Then you were not on overflow, and there were not few people. Wonder what’s the meaning of posting on this thread since we were talking about the difficulties of killing the dragon on low populated servers.

Mmh well, on Vabbi the event failed :/
In case you need another hand with the event, I’m in. When will you try again?
Has any European player got the mail? Or is it just a NA thing for now?
I hope i’ll be able to get one
i logged for the event all thre days, i still have all the items of the previus phases, i have the emails for the start of the event.. but sadly i had a lot of crashes while trying to reach the Karka Hive, and couldn’t login after.
(edited by Lolindir.3518)
I would like to understand what they mean with “qualified”, since there are people who got the chest beside not even doing the event, and people who have done the event multiple times, yet they got this chest as well. It seems so random, while they should have simply given a chest per account (maybe per account created before the event).
Guess i’ll try sending a ticket.
I think they said the first hours it was somehow random..then they fixed it.
Still, they should have done a better job.
Honestly, i repeated billion times to just forget this weapon at all. Devs don’t care to post anything about it, nor answer if you meet them online. Still, there are so many who still believe one day they will get one. Shrugs
It’s probably the only staff i like, so i want to know how to get it. I’ll send another PM to Linsey, i hope it will not get ignored.
Did anyone notice that they deleted the post about it in the News and Announcements section?
I still see it, if you refer to this
Im not exactly sure how well you guys expect to be compensated. In other words, i wouldnt expect more thsn an exotic and a handful of gold cuz thats what MOST people got out of it.
Im one of the ones who willingly sat out because of the bugs.
Am I mad that I did? Nope.
Would i be irritated that i got DC’d and no reward. Sure………for about a day.The game has no sub. That should be compensation enough. Sure it doesnt mean they can just slack off in development, but it also mesns that when mistskes ARE made, a simple glimpse at the bigger picture will show you youre being rewarded enough as it is.
So quit beating a dead horse.
Already found/bought 4 named exotics from playing since that whole event for example.
Let it go.
Well, it’s not like we’re asking for something they never wanted to give, Arenanet said a little after the end of the event that they’ would have sent the reward for those who didn’t loot the chest. That’s all.. also, the fact that it has no sub is not a compensation, it’s a good feature but it has nothing to do with the error they made with the event
You bought 4 named exotic, good for you.. i can’t play much so i’d really like to have at least the 20 slot bag since it makes me safe a lot of money and everyone has got one from the event.
