Mainly been playing with one char. I crafted a couple weapons in the beginning and let it rest. Then last week, I decided i wanted to finish it, and powerplayed Tarir over a whole week to grind ten weapons so i could craft and complete the collection. The auric and luminates backpieces are lovely!

I think you guys are confused. Im not talking of Facet of Light, but Crystal Hibernation.

I repeat. Anet have stated that they didnt want to remove the self root on Crystal Hibernation, as they then would have to weaken the heal. But then what do they go and do? Weakening the heal, yet keeping the selfroot. Weak heal and selfroot is a deal breaker for me.

I tried an exotic geared mallyx build for pve, as the ascended condi trinkets takes too much effort to aquire. Kill speeds felt significantly slower compared to power, and you need to be kiting constantly in order to do your full damage.

When I tried it, it felt like that Glint doesnt mesh that well with a Condi mallyx build since you are so much more dependent on your condi sources in Mallyx stance. Glint complements power far better imho. Ironically enough, Powerbuilds makes fine use of Mallyx, in particular Embrace the Darkness, which can add some strong oomph to your attacks thanks to the 10% stat bonus. The torment is pretty much irelevant. And unyielding anguish gives you a dark field to use with sword 2. Something which power builds normally lacks, having access to a field.

Revs only have average damage now. And the shield is junk, the piddly heal is not worth the self root. And they explicitly said they had it selfrooting because the heal was good, and theyd have to weaken the heal if they removed the selfroot. Then what do they go and do? Weaken the heal while keeping the root.

Ive started to wonder what everyone ends up playing with for main weapon sets for the zerker revenant.

I know that Sword/Axe and Staff is considered the optimal set. But I find myself missing a hammer dearly quite frequently, especially in maguuma where there is soo much melee hate. Like the frequently knockbacking tentacles and the loads of dinos with charge. I feel you give up too much from forsaking a ranged option.

And the staff. Staff 5 is simply uncontested in sheer usefulness for breakbars, and staff 4 shores up one of our biggest weaknesses, conditions.

So Ive ended using the staff as my main weapon, and it feels to do quite comparable damage to the sword/axe combo now that sword have had all the nerfs. The utility support from staff more than making up for the slightly lower dps. Plus its much easier to keep track of the cd on staff 5 when using it as a main weapon. And I find staff 2 hits nicely hard when debilitating slam activates.

Furthermore staff have the advantage that it hits 3 targets with its attacks, unlike single target sword.

I bought the bundle for 2000. Well digging the soul river glider, goes well with a mistward dressed revenant. And I needed a makeover kit. Only weak thing is the bandit skin.

The higher defense level on an sw map, the higher chance for a legendary to spawn. So you simply have to camp each fort, as they alway spawn in set locations.

People doesnt seem to be using the tree anymore, Ive noticed. Had a break from fractals, and have recently started doing the champion dailies again. Only had to leave a single scrub group on 77, but almost all manage to do it successfully as intended.

I dont like Glint myself either……but perma swiftness, that is simply addictive. Using impossible odds for movement is just a pale shadow, plus the sound is terribly annoying me.

But ive started to ditch shiro and using Jalis instead. In particular for a more useful heal, Enchanted daggers feels so terribly weak. Plus you get a far better aoe with vengeful hammers.

Leystone armor pieces is really hard to get ahold of. Never had any drop from noxious pods nor blighting towers.
And it makes me so sad to salvage tons upon tons of useless coat boxes.

I only have Wings of Gold, Flying Circus and Salvage Pit at gold, they are really, really easy. 5-6 silvers, and the rest bronze. I found a lot of the adventures too hard to get more than silver or bronze in. But ive finished all 4 mastery lines in maguuma and have one spare point.

Did you find all the strongboxes and mastery points? And two of the maguuma story mission points is not too hard to get.

Ive recently started to relook into Scholar runes and have been glancing at Assassins Annihilation. How much damage do you lose running AA over Swift Termination? Being mindful that the added sustain will add more uptime on the Scholar damage bonus.

Condi revenant does not have viable dps in PvE, due to the weakness of torment vs too many mobs and bosses that stands still.

But how about a trait that works like this? Like a trait that gives you a stacking damage buff the longer you fight a mob with torment on them. Perhaps capped by their number of torment stacks.

I favor ranged weapons because of all the visual noise in melee range. Ground effects obscured by namepl.ates in a zerg, which you cant disable. As well hideously obscuring weapons like twilight or sunrise. I wish you could turn down effects from other players. Blizzard have acknowledged it and turns it down so you can actually can see what goes on at a boss, without being completely blinded.

Lag is horrible for the Herald’s Facet of Light/Infuse Light. With the new cast time you often have to hammer it repeatedly before it will go off, and I -frequently- see the skill blinking on the cast bar.

Revert the cast time change and do something else to it, please. It often feels unusable, because it doesnt respond timely anymore. Especially when combined with the low duration of the infuse light.

Revenant selfhealing feels super weak now for the main spec of Glint+Shiro. And Crystal Hibernation is a joke. You said you had to nerf the heal if we had to give up the selfroot, and then you go and nerf the heal and still forcing the selfroot? Useless now.

Only limited time to get it on the gemstore, a mere 3 days. I dont know how long it has been since it was last available, but I know it was quite a long time.

Its a good deal to use if you rely on master salvage kits, but pales compared to mystic salvage kits. Which Ive a large load to exhaust, before I can start using this new tool.

A lot more expensive in use compared to the copper fed, but the heightened efficiency should yield more on yellow and exotic salvages.

I have 150 AR myself, but I dont foresee myself pushing higher than 77. The higher fractals is simply too much of a pita, not worth the effort. So most will be happy with the 109 needed for 77.

Yes, viper is must be for condi classes. But are you aware that you can convert existing ascended armor to any of the new stats? Saves soo much in fulgurite for Viper.

I guess Facet of Nature helps keeping Protection active while you are not in glint, if you swap legends on cooldown, yes? That does make Facet of Nature a bit more useful, though it still feels to have little use otherwise, like soloing.

Not like its the cost worth to try for maximising the attuned and infused agony slots. Beyond +12 agony, the price quickly reaches truly ridiculous levels, thanks to the truly obscene amounts of thermocatalytic reagents needed.

If you have a full set of ascended armor + trinkets. Theres x14 slots you can fill with +7 versatile AR infusions. Coupled with the 5 bonus slots (attuned and infused ) you can add to your rings and cloak. You merely need to craft 4x 10 AR and 1x 12AR in order to reach the 150 AR cap.

Or go 3×10 AR and 2×11 AR. Slightly cheaper and gets you to 150 too.

Otherwise yes, the 20-30 copper per +1 AR price has made the infusions a lot cheaper.

Have you looked at the tp, to see how much the higher AR infusions costs? Definitely NOT cheap if you go beyond whats listed above.

Revenants really needs a trait that makes torment do competitive levels of damage for pve, as Mallyx is extremely focused on it. Ideally making Torment always do full damage.

In return, I think revs could stand to loose access to their other conditions, and making them sublime torment specialists.

It would also help if they had a ranged condi weapon. Or alternatively adding 600 range to Mace, emphasizing a semi melee style. They are after all known for unusual uses of weapons.

Hey Orbal, I came to wonder. In a given scenario of using Glint+Shiro. Where is the bulk of the damage? Id expect it to be with Shiro, but how much higher is it than Glint for example?

Mainly thinking of it, as if the bulk of damage is proven to be in shiro stance, it would encourage people to not just being lazy and sitting in glint constantly. Ive been guilty of it myself, so thats why id like to know just how important it is to drain glint and switch.

Since a condi Mallyx doesnt work in PvE, could Corruption work in a power (zerk) build?

Glint/Mallyx as the legends. Sword/Axe.
Traitlines would be: Herald, Destruction and Corruption. Herald and Destruction uses the usual setup. But Corruption would pick Demonic Defiance, Bolstered Anguish and Maniacal Persistence.

My thought is then, when Mallyxing. You suck out conditions from your team with Pain absorbsion and gainining a damagebuff from it. Youd just need to suck up 3 conditions to exceed the fury bonus of 7% from invocation, which we dont use.

And then popping Embrace the Darkness and going to town on foes. Demonic defiance keeping the conditions ineffective due the resistance bonus granted, while you channel EtD and enjoy the 10% to all stats bonus as you dps. If you are alone, channeling EtD would null conditions on you as well, while you get the damagebuff still.

And if conditions is still a problem at the end, use Empowering Misery to perk yourself back up.

Sounds potentially appealing, due to the massive condition weakness of Revs.

Put your mind to it and you will finish your ascended armor. I started this revenant 1.5 month ago. He finished ascended gearing after a month. And I am nearly done filling every infusion slot with +7 agony resistance. You dont need to blow wads of gold on the dual stat infusions, they are not worth the expense.

And you can buy +4 mainstat infusions with laurels, or +5 if you buy the wvw variant with pvp stats as well, but requiring 100 badges of honor per infusion as well for once you tire of fractals. and no longer need the AR.

After toughness normalization you can do just fine with a single ascended set. Zerker is pretty much the go to set for the majority of classes. Though it takes a lot more work to get a full set of condi gear.

Disappointing news as I feared. I had hoped to see some serious improvement to the revenant in the last patch, but as the preview rolled in I knew hoping for more would just be setting up for disappointment.

I started playing close after hot release, as the revenant was a draw for me, finding them to be a pleasing derivative of the ritualist. My fave char from classing guild wars, never having had much time for gw 2 until recently.

Ive considered playing another char, but the thought of doing all over of what my rev already have done, is making me groan, ie world completion. Hence why Ive been looking towards other playstyles. Just beggars belief that Anet havent been more dilligent in tuning and preparing their new class. For I am quite close to going on an extended hiatus out of boredom.

Wondering if anyone have had positive experiences with the less used legends in pve.

Asking, because playing Shiro/Glint with full ascended berserker in pve is starting to bore me out of my skull from using the same few old bland looking moves. For not to talk of the extremely passive boonfarting role of Glint.

I am in particular curious to if Condi mallyx is getting reasonably closer to Shiro after the recent nerfs to sword.

But a healer ventari also have potential to me imho for a more active playstyle.

Too little heal and selfroot hurts shield, and i think envoy takes too much effort to use optimally and hurting dps. Axe is mainly taken for the utility of a port.

Ive recently finished all Triple Trouble achievements. My observations:

The only successful runs have been with gw2 community, due to the very tight organizing. You simply cant pug this world boss in a group of random puggies, your average player is simply not organized enough, nor is people paying attention to follow the very precisely and tightly tuned phases for the wurms. The times I tried normal pugs, it was a miserable failure, because people woefully underestimated what the group was capable of. Even normal pugs doing just two wurms is failing badly.

Most notably amber and cobalt wurms suffering when theres a lack of coordination. Crimson is a far more pug friendly wurm.
