The only issue I would have is that I might have less incentive to switch between outfits (i keep a couple of different ones but with the same stats, just to change my main char’s looks sometimes). I will def pick one outfit and gradually transmute that into the ascended stats, but the other outfits will have to be weaker. Not something I’m too concerned about as I’m mostly a open world player. Of course, then there is the issue that I might want to respec, but my current gear is already very all-round. Could be a problem for people with very specialized specs that they have to bet on that spec always being viable or be ready to maybe start over with a second set of ascended gear. Then again, we don’t know the exact time gating and it might not take that long to get a new set.
I’m not worried that people would start asking for ascended gear in new LS dungeons and such. If anything, the latest dungeons have been more about player skill and less about gear. DPS and/or big health doesn’t seem that much of an issue, at least not to the degree where the exotic/ascended difference would mean failure/success.

So Ranger pets are in the way again, how is it about Mesmer phantasms and clones?
I remember in Chanach the phantoms and clones could trigger mines as well, making both my mains rather hard to play.
Hello
Most of the jade weapon skins you can get in dragon bash have these red ribbons hanging from them. However, I noticed that the ribbon on the greatsword skin can only be seen from one side, as if only one of the two sides has texture on it.
As can be seen in attachment 1 and 2, the ribbon is clearly hanging there when viewed from the front, but invisibly when viewed from the back.
(You can actually see the little piece that goes up before the fold is visible from the back but not from the front, so it is clearly one side of the ribbon that doesn’t have visible texture).
I compared to the Jade Scepter skin which, as seen in attachment 3 and 4, can be seen from both sides.
I have not checked with other weapons, so I don’t know about them.
I saw this tip on an ANet post and gave it a try – it really works!!
(If you aren’t already) start using the ‘dodge-jump’ technique for extremely long/tight jumps. It may take a bit of practice to get used to, but you will notice the difference!
Tell me more about the technique.
Edit: Nvm, I found out on my own. As a connoisseur of the jumping arts I LOVE YOU! This will come so much in handy!

I’m using a Logitech g400. And I like it a lot. Only two extra buttons though, but I think it’s enough for gw2. We don’t really need that many binds anyway.
I think it’s awesome to have dodge roll on the mouse. I’d also love to have “interrupt spell casting”. But I couldn’t find anything like that.
But yeah, great mouse, and rather cheap as well.
g400 here too, best mouse I ever bought. Can’t be bothered with all that flash and extra buttons. It does its job, is comfy and reliable.
A bit off topic, and as I said before, pseudo elves are in already, but…
I get very amused when every suggestion, good or bad, to include something is met with the “Amg GW2 is Original” responses.
Hmm. Dragons are the main Protagonists.
We have Ogres, Trolls, Jotun, Krait(Naga),Wargs, ghosts, Dredge, Griffins, pirates, giant spiders, ooze creatures, undead etc etc etc.
We adventure in dungeons and caves. With Humans, Big Nordic Humans, a large Anthropomorphic beast race, a small, techno race prone to techno mishaps, and a Nature race with pointed ears.
I guess I don’t see the originality in the ingredients. The recipe is different..the treatment is different, but a lot of this is standard fare folks.
Of course it’s unoriginal when you take the reductionist approach. Reduce any recipe to its parts and it’s a lot of the same. It comes down to how you cook it.
You could go further and say that all races are like humans, cause they are created out of facets of human psychology.
Well this is a weird thread.
Some people want elves to appear in GW2 lore. Some other people say “no, we don’t want elves please.” Then a lot of frothing a shouting starts about how none of the GW2 races are original anyway, and that Sylvari are just leafy elves.
So if that’s the case, why are people asking for elves again?
This is exactly what I said to my party when we were done with the Toad King. The format of the boss fight could just as well be applied to future dungeon boss fights (kinda like the Iron Forgeman). It makes for a more interesting a unique battle. Success is all about working out and understanding the mechanics.
Also, the whole idea of secret rooms and chests shouldn’t be exclusive to a temporary event like this. It should be carried over to future dungeon content as well.
I’m so surprised that this thing is so much better and more creative than the original stuff, yet put down as something that will only last 1 month.
Here’s hoping that this kind of instance quality is not a one-off thing.
Edit: Also, I love the platforming aspect, but I think it’s good that cloud mode exists for those not interested in that kind of stuff.
Why is his name Barcas now?
Just interested to know.
Reference ended up in lawsuit?
So in the distant undecided future, whenever an expansion would be in the works for GW2, would you prefer it to be modular or progressive?
With modular, I mean that it is like most of the GW1 expansions. You could buy one of them and it would be a self-contained world map + campaign. You didn’t need all the previous campaigns etc.
With progressive, I mean WoW style: new level cap, (possibly) big gameplay changes, building upon / changing existing areas, new areas added etc.
Personally, I would love to have modular expansions. But at the same time I realise that the way GW2 is set up at the moment, and the direction it is heading in, indicates that perhaps a progressive expansion would better fit the bill.
Your thoughts?
Just wanted to thank Anet for making it so that we can switch pets out of combat without noticeable cooldown, and instead have the cooldowns on pet skills remain independent.
I noticed it today when comparing pets and switching them around suddenly didn’t feel clunky at all. Really happy about that actually, especially since they went with the exact solution I suggested back when the pet switch cooldown nerf was first implemented to stop that pet buff exploit thing.
So yes, thank you. Just wanted to let it be known that it’s appreciated.
I doubt I’m the only one going back & forth here. I’ve already seen horrific behavior in game, & heard from others, with big guilds behaving – well, just the way you’d expect, charging to join, insulting those who don’t wish to expand, & generally & absolutely ruining an atmosphere that has been, until now, very positive.
Do those at ArenaNet truly not understand why so many of us left mmos like Warcraft? I used to love the play there, but the people, the players, were awful. Terrible. People will grow into the atmosphere you provide. If you set up Lord of the Flies, that’s what you’re going to get.
If this happens, I’m out. Done. Adios.
The main reason I was sucked in to GW2 was the thought that maybe this game wouldn’t contain that attitude, because it would not be set up to give them the advantage.
I am one of those you mention, who left warcraft for this (actually, left swtor too, but that was a very short transition period). As much as I enjoyed WoW’s wide selection of venues and atmospheres, the attitude of the community cut the game in half for me. I worked on builds to solo older raids, took part in fishing competitions, tried some RP, that kind of stuff. But eventually that other half was not worth the sub fee.
GW2 doesn’t have a sub fee, but I also feel it lacking in that “other half”. If the community goes WoW, i’m out.
As this has probably been buried deep by know, I would like to quote Izzy again. I put aspects of his post that touch on the actual discussion in bold:
I know there have been some concerns about Guild Bounties being in the Art of War line. Our goal with this system is to give guilds activities and long-term progression that they can accomplish by working together as a guild. These missions are meant to be difficult and challenging to not only unlock, but to accomplish.
We would also like to make every guild upgrade line valuable to every guild. Currently, Art of War is very focused on PvP and WvW, but our plan is to continue to add more guild upgrades in the Art of War line to accomplish this. These Guild Missions are the first step. Along with this system, we also added a number of new guild upgrades that guilds can earn.
In the end, our goal for all of this content is to give guilds new goals and challenges to accomplished once they have researched deeply into each line, as well as require guilds to have researched multiple lines to unlock some upgrades. We expect guild members to have to work together as a guild to earn the influence needed to unlock these new missions, as well as overcome the challenge of the missions themselves.
In the future, we plan to continue to add more guild upgrades, as well as continue to add challenging guild missions, as we don’t want guilds to run out of goals and accomplishments they can achieve.~Izzy @-’—-
All I can say is… WOW… how to totally miss the point by a country mile.. or perhaps a Global mile may be more apt.
Releasing content that all but excludes small guilds is just dumb.
So, when you make bold statements like “PLAY YOUR WAY”, what you really mean is play your way but you cant play this or that cos you dont fit the mandate we have designed our incredible GATED guild system around…
So if small guilds prefer only to dabble in WvW or PvP, we now have to play your way in order to even attempt to be included – ooh that’s right in a month, 3 months, 6 months, a year you might of thought up some other idea to maybe reintrouce some of the small guilds into the guild system…
Now your telling us small guilds (you know, ones that might be a closed guild of say 2-6 friends & family members or are a hardened bunch of MMO gamers who have been round the block, know each others game and like to keep it close nit with a view to only recruiting quality players that we get to know over time ingame), now have to become one of the desperado guilds who constantly have to spam Map chat repetitively to pick up the “anybodies” from their /whisper me for immediate invite dribble …. NO THANKS!I prefer my small guild of trusted players with no drama, all play regular and have voice chat for some social interaction…. I will leave the “we take any player.com” guilds to flush this content away.
I have been pretty forgiving and supportive of ANET since before launch but if I am honest this “exclusive” content update and continual poor patching quality has started to take it toll on me to the point I can hear the death knolls – I’ve tried to fall in love with GW2 like I did with GW1 but excluding guilds of any size from guild content / guild rewards is just plain dumb.
All you had to do was create a new Guild Line to measure progress/unlocks etc which had no bearing on whether the guild played WvW or PvP or PvE so that it could pcil and choose its guild goals and then utilise difficulty scaling based on the number of players in a group who are guilded or who are in the relevant istance/event zone etc and if necessary scale the reward back with some form influence / loot penalty…. course that would be too sensible an approach I guess. You have gated the guild system and the game content and I hope it leaves much egg on face.
Sadly for me its time to head back to my MMO of choice (No I dont mean WoW Panda either) where guilds get to enjoy all content, no matter what their size, skill level and commitment to certain game functionalities.Very good post, I feel your pain. I do wish this works itself out, because when guild missions were originally introduced, they were advertised as “Things to do for all guilds of all sizes!” And seeing the influence cost for some of these things is just laughable to think that a smaller guild will ever even see this content.
Would’ve loved to have my small guild be able to do some coordinated jumping puzzles or something. Could have been a lower tier unlock, less rewarding etc. Just something that makes small guilds feel like they can advance the guild beyond treasure trove.
I don’t know anymore. I usually like five things in MMOs: playing with friends, exploring the world, visiting my favourite atmospheric spots, getting a good look to my character, and doing menial things/farming while listening to audiobook.
I’ve gotten my character to look quite good. I’m not big on the dungeon armors but I’ve assembled a mix of cultural and crafted armor that looks the way I like it.
I only have two friends left who actively play now.
Something about the world and the camera makes it hard for me to get atmosphere out of this game. [It feels flat somehow?]
So I’m left with the audiobook supplement, but even that I’m growing tired of.
Time for a break. At least there’s no monthly fee ticking and it’ll all still be here in the future.
So come on guys get on this band wagon and tell korrigan he is wrong…..
I don’t think he’s wrong, although I do disagree with him. To me, ascended gear was made as a special kind of gear for fractals, thus infusions to resist agony as a throwback to GW1. To him, you only need the rings to get to the top of the difficulty scaling, and that’s fair enough. As far as I can tell, the role of ascended items is not set in stone and the function of this gear can fluctuate.
I think that this is a game built on the premise that personal activity or guild membership should not lock you out of content. I see it as a game that was meant to be an alternative to that classic MMO model. In contrast, Korrigan supports this model, which is fine to me, but I don’t agree with it.
We both agree with Jornophelanthas’ notion that lowering the cost or adding less rewarding downscaled versions would be a possible solution. I’m all for that.
So no, I won’t jump on any bandwagon and go to war with Korrigan claiming he’s wrong, cause it’s just a disagreement about something that can be interpreted in many different ways depending on perspective.
And as a final note, I personally don’t give a toss about the gear. I just don’t like that small guilds are faced with such an overly massive obstacle to reach a chance at content and then be called leeches for reluctantly joining bigger guilds just to try it out.
50 ecto just comes out of bloody nowhere. That’s like 15 gold now. In addition to the amount of dailies and monthlies.
Last time I checked (that’s one minute ago), the ascended gear you get from laurels doesn’t require any single “ecto”.
Other thing… ascended gear isn’t required to play the game EXCEPT if you do fractals to a high level. Guess what? I don’t have a single ascended piece yet. Full exotic works just fine for most of the content, ascended only gives a marginal stat increase.
I’m a very casual player, but you won’t see me asking ANet or any other MMO company to add stuff just for me to get easily by playing just 1 hour. If something I want is harder to get, well, it will just take more time. The game is going nowhere, and will still be there next month, at least it gives me long term objectives.
1, The alternate way to get ascended accessories is to pay 40 laurels and 50 globs of ectoplasm. If it was the spelling you were on about, sorry about not writing “globs of ectoplasm”.
2, I was raising the concern that small guild fractal players have to resort to other means to get the items they want for the content they like, which seems wrong to me. It’s like forcing people in WoW to win the weekly fishing competition in order to get parts of the raiding gear.
I hope that clears things up cause I feel that your post passed right by mine.
And no, 40 laurels (1 monthly and 30 dailies) + 50 ecto is not an acceptable alternative.
And what would be acceptable? ATM like machines in Lion’s Arch which give out Ascended gear for 10 copper each?
The ascended gear available with laurels can be achieved by any play style in a reasonable time frame, there’s no forced grouping, no forced dungeoning, and now that the dailies are customizable, by doing most of the usual in game activities. You can’t expect ANet to give out gear for just sitting near the bank in Lion’s Arch either…
Countering with an exaggerated strawman does not impress anyone. They could’ve just made the accessories just as expensive as the rings.
It fulfills the same functionality: giving an alternative way for those who do not enjoy/cannot do the content they were released and gimmicked together with.
They have weaker stats, no reason for being so much more expensive.
35 laurels still takes a reasonable amount of gathering for such an item. I am even fine with the 40, although I think it strange for reasons above.
35 laurels is still 35 laurels less to spend on Von Snuffles and whatev.
50 ecto just comes out of bloody nowhere. That’s like 15 gold now. In addition to the amount of dailies and monthlies.
That said, it’s just another thing that’s there to dump laurels into. And laurels take no effort, only time. I’d rather have something that takes more effort and less time. How about fractals? It’s in fractals that ascended items matter anyway. Why does a fractal lover with a small guild have to grind laurels or leech off a megaguild to progress?
1. Friend logs in all excited for guild missions.
2. Had to explain to him we’re a small guild so don’t have influence to run/unlock them without spending lots of Gs.
3. He asks “what ever happened to casually playing/leaving and coming back to play any content?”
4. Logs off.Yeah great work ANet. Real great work here.
The worst part is that this is how they got so many sales and pre-orders. Now they’re working on initiating everyone into the old school model again: keep up or keep out.
On the bright side, at least with this MMO you can choose to play without supporting by simply not buying gems. On the bad side, this could lead to the company not affording the improvements to make the game more like the manifesto. A vicious cycle starting there.
Coming from a smaller guild (5-8 active) I do have to agree with Matipzieu KyA’s post:
Where I love the idea of these missions it will take my guild a good number of months to open up the content. The core of the guild is a group of friends who i’m sure will stay but I am worried that some of our members who we’ve recruited might move to a guild who already have all of these cool feature open.
And when you have spent all those months getting the influence (or spent the gold for speeding it up a bit), there is no guarantee that you will have the manpower to actually find the bounty in time and complete the mission. Sure, people could help you, but there is the worry that they won’t, as there’s no reward in it for them.
I really don’t want this to be the case, I want to believe that when us smaller guilds actually get to this content, there will be kind-hearted souls there to help us.
Until then, however, we are effectively locked out of the content unless we become ‘leeches’ (didn’t take long for such a term to appear in the community). Playing as a small guild and still wanting to be up to date with the current content was apparently a mistake, and the price for it is high.
I really like the mention of ‘second-class’ players, cause that’s exactly how I feel I’m being viewed as here.
It seems that after the latest patch, all damage numbers on a dragon are located in the same place even if the dragon is hit at several locations. Can anyone else confirm that this is the case?
It has created a sort of luxury problem or minor inconvenience for me, nothing big really. I play ranger and use piercing arrows to shoot through several hit locations in order to boost my damage against dragons. On claw of jormag I have managed to find a position where I can hit both arms and the head with the same shot. Now, the way I had of spotting if I was in that sweet spot before was by looking at the damage numbers. Now when they’re all jumbled together (and not even in a spot that you’d intuitively look at while fighting the dragon) I have a harder time knowing which locations I’m actually hitting.
As I said, this is a luxury issue. You could even argue that I shouldn’t have been doing this in the first place (although to me it is something that makes rangers rather good in dragon fights, one of the class’ few perks imo). But even when focusing on only one location, due to the lag and weird positioning of the floaty numbers, it’s a bit difficult to tell if I’m even hitting anything at all. I just don’t see the point of making damage indication less clear that it was before.
So, anyone else noticing this?
Seems that with every patch I am more and more mistaken about this game. I got it cause I liked the idea that the open world was where the content was, and that all I had to do was join in. It seemed like a good alternative to WoW, where I always felt excluded from the ‘real game’ or that I wasn’t playing it ‘properly’ because of my lack of interest in raids. I thought this game would be different.
In WoW I still had my own stuff to do though. For example, I set my mind on doing all the fishing achievements and hunted down all those rare mobs to kill. I played it my way. It worked, I had my own epic adventure, but as I said, didn’t feel like the ‘proper’ game. Eventually the sub fee didn’t feel worth it when all my personal goals ran out.
I’m in a close-friends-guild (7 members, fewer regularly online) and as this patch rolled out and I saw the new earrings I knew how it was gonna be. Either join a big kitten guild or get kicked out of the power curve again. I was surprised by the release of new ascended earrings, and even more surprised when the whole “everyone can come help the guilds” boiled down to getting the usual standard event reward when the guild gets the real stuff (kinda like joining a raid and get sod all, except that was sometimes worth it in WoW to see the raid avenues and bosses). I thought this would all be ok for my guild until it was too late and I had already hyped them for this.
There are two things you can say to this. Yes, the earrings are attainable through laurels and yes, they are not at all necessary for playing the way I like to play. However, it is the sour taste of being a second-rate player that gets to me. I can run around and do events all day long if I feel like it. I love doing jumping puzzles, and am actually quite good at them. However, I can only get one laurel a day, the events will eventually give me DR and my jumping puzzle skill is not recognized nor rewarded (if time is money, JPs are a waste of time). Again, I don’t need the gold nor the rewards, but I am very obviously playing the poor man’s game. I didn’t mind fishing achievements not being to peak of the game in WoW, because it had its own niche rewards that were recognized within that community. You don’t get the same JP communities in GW2.
Anyway, I feel I’ve gone all over the place now. My point is, this is not a game where people are equally rewarded for playing the game their way. Now the smaller guilds are locked out of pve content until at least a good few months into the future. Startup guilds will have more difficulty getting members. When the small guilds DO manage to get the influence required, good luck getting the rest of the community to help as they get no interesting rewards for this. Ascended stats are starting to matter. The stat difference is adding up. People are being left out of the power curve if they don’t want to slowly grind laurels (and spend 15g worth of ecto) or join a big guild. WvW players have to go do other things. I could disregard all this and keep on doing DEs and JPs, but to what end? I have nothing to strive for there. I find it hard to set personal goals. This game as of late has been geared towards gaining tons of different currencies to buy ascended items. This is the goal. My playstyle cannot achieve these goals within a timeframe that feels worth it. I can’t pull an all-nighter to hunt for my goal as I did with the WoW Rare mob achievements. I have to do daily after daily after daily. After a month I get one item. Hooray. I’m not feeling fulfilled by this and the game in itself is not fun enough to just log in and play. Sadly, I did map completion too quickly it seems, and grinding events is just… eugh.
I think I should step away from the keyboard now, then maybe step away from the game for a good while.
At least this game doesn’t have a sub fee,
When doing large scale dynamic events I often see people going “lfg” or randomly inviting people to their party. What I don’t really understand is why though.
Afaik, the benefit of being in a party is coordination and communication, but these don’t really feel like they’re needed in most events (like dragons etc) as most of the time it just comes down to shooting and surviving (or zerging).
Is there some benefit to being in a party that I’m unaware of? (drop rates?) This question might sound weird, but I just don’t see the point of partying for dragons. I can understand that there might be a “social” angle to it, but I’m not entirely convinced.
It’s one of those little things that I think really makes the ambience of a game. I think MMO’s require ambience, especially big cities like LA where you tend to ‘hang out’ instead of running around killing things.
The more stuff like this you remove from a game, the flatter the experience gets. Now, of course this is a rather minor thing. GW2 won’t go under without fountain plop noises, but it’s one of those small things that make a game truly endearing.
It’s funny, in my opinion there is no “progression” with gear progression (or even levels for that matter); they only provide an illusion of progression. All they do is burn time in most games, because people don’t really care about the “role-playing” part of games anymore; all people care about is their kitten kitten.
They could easily have implemented some sort of horizontal progression instead of a vertical with Ascended. Why not have special equipment (maybe even add in an extra slot for certain “special equips”) that do certain things:
Vindictus
- Chains: groups can use these to “pin” bosses temporarily. In easier battles they only take one player (and sometimes quite a bit of skill to hit the right spot), but in more difficult boss battles they can take two or three players chaining simultaneously to get that pin.
- Spears: Can be used to break off certain pieces of boss armor to obtain special crafting ingredients in certain battles. Also, can be sometimes be used to stun an enemy.
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
- Hookshot: Used to get to certain areas
- Hover boots: Boot equipment used to float and cross certain areas.
Why can’t they just do this kind of stuff here? Have special items that grant a special skill or power (hover boots) to overcome certain challenges in dungeons (even have some areas that require them in open world too)?
Also, you wouldn’t have to require all members in a group to have the item either. I mean wouldn’t it be cool to have special paths that can be opened by having someone have an item like a hook shot? Kind of like official versions of certain glitches where players get to certain areas they couldn’t normally by using certain skills.
Have them be obtained through long quest chains, maybe a bit of dungeon grinding for a different item, crafting for another, maybe a mix for that other item; vary it up a bit.
I have been thinking about something just like this so many times. It would be such a breath of fresh air in the current state of MMOs. Giving people reason to find certain items, not to gain power in NUMBERS but enabling them to explore new areas etc. It would be a true horizontal progression. Just being creative with content unlocks so many different ways to gain progression without relying on better and better gear (which isn’t better when everyone has it anyway) and farming the same dungeon over and over and over.
Are the devs lacking in creativity or energy to do something like this? I wouldn’t like to think so. But the unimaginative solutions of so many MMOs makes me wonder what the problem is stopping something like this from happening.
So just got 100% completion on Lornar’s Pass and I went to do the jumping puzzle. In order to get the chest at the end you need to carry a bomb and avoid combat while finishing the puzzle in 3 minutes. This relies on not getting in combat with the griffons that are all over the puzzle and make up the primary challenge.
The problem with this as a ranger is that any time you enter combat you pet comes out. When you fall and take damage you enter combat for a split second and your pet comes out. When you dodge a griffon since the pet can’t dodge you get stuck in combat and slowed. This makes the entire thing ridiculous and I cannot see this as being intended.
FALSE!! this is -easier- as a ranger (easiest as a mesmer but mesmers can cheat with portal) because of one main thing, you can throw your pet into the gryphon so the gryphons will go for your pet INSTEAD of you, the bomb holder. You can make every jump in the puzzle while you’re in combat, i know, i did it a few days ago with my ranger and was in combat a good 100% of the time.
I was gonna say this. It’s during Griffonrook that i remembered why i love pet classes in PVE: free distraction.
Those armadillo critters, nuff said.
Title pretty much sums it up. I’m playing a Ranger and about every other shot I fire when using the siege cannon bunker things against The Shatterer it causes me to get kicked out of the bunker and I have to re-enter.
Sorry if this has been addressed already but I couldn’t find anything similar with the search function.
GW1 handled this really well. You could choose to go through your story either with a group or with henchmen. The big end boss battle of each campaign was thus up to you how you wanted to complete it. I remember using a solo build on my assassin to fight Shiro 1-on-1 at the end of factions, and that felt much more epic than I’d imagine spamming 22222 vs Zhaitan will be (whenever I get there).
There is something to be said about the incredibility of beating an elder dragon all by oneself, sure. But doesn’t the final mission already come with the entirety of Destiny’s Edge and some other NPC’s? I don’t see how 4 random people would make the change from ‘epic’ to ‘so silly that you beat up a dragon on your own’. Also, if you’re unlucky one of those 4 people will be the one who get all the cutscenes, so you were basically a guest all along.
I’d personally be fine with the thought that the personal story ended with fighting the eye. But what bugs me is that the green story text will always be in the corner of my screen, reminding me that I haven’t finished off the threat against Tyria yet. And even if I wanted, half the time Arah is bugged and locked and the other half nobody wants to join me when I search in mapchat. I don’t have the time to sit and wait for Arah to open and then hoping to get lucky enough to get a group that a) can manage the dungeon and b) won’t ragequit because “omg noob party”.
I have a group of friends who play with me a lot, but our dungeon runs are few and two of us rarely level (they’re around lvl 30-40). If I want to complete the story before getting bored enough to stop caring about it, I’ll have to pug.
Right now I just sort of wish they could remove that green story text for me.
Ah thanks!
As for the weird value with 30% from traits: turns out I was reading a downscaled stat…
Sorry about that.
So I’m a bit confused about what +X% Critical Damage actually does. I was mousing over my Critical Hit value in the Hero screen and noticed that Critical Damage displayed a value that didn’t seem to match what I had in my build. I started removing my gear (all of it, not just the pieces that had +crit dam on them) and ended up naked with +30% crit damage from traits. The number displayed in critical damage on the hero screen was now 21. What does this value mean and how does this crit damage actually work? I was under the impression that it just added a raw additive percentile to the base damage value of a crit.
So spending lots of money/effort on getting fully upgraded exotic rings is now completely wasted just a couple of months in? Now I should get this other type of ring that already has more stats than my ‘max-stat’ exotic + jewel? Ah well…
Why didn’t they do like in GW1 and let all your EXISTING gear get infused through a dungeon run/event?
I’d definitely like to see those Armadillos become tameable. They even look like they were meant to be pets when it comes to size and looks. They’re too different from actual Armadillos to be just a critter.
I’ve found the Conquest set from karma vendors in Orr and Fireheart Rise, but neither of them have the snazzy hat. Instead it’s some ninja mask with bone jaw attached to it. Really annoys me since I mostly wanted the hat…
I would like to add that I have been looking for the Conquest headgear for my ranger for ages. There are two places where the vendors sell Conquest gear from what I’ve explored; Orr zones and Fireheart Rise. In both of them you can find all pieces except for the headgear, which is replaced with some weird ninja mask with bone pieces on it. Def not the tricorner from PVP. Kind of frustrated about that since I really wanted the lionguard headgear.
