At the moment GW2 has arguably more gay romantic characters than straight romantic characters (Logan/Jenna, Kasmeer/Jory, Caithe/Faolin). They don’t need to pioneer gay relationships to such an extent that straight relationships are rare.

Not saying that they need to pioneer gay relationships more, as they’ve done well enough for the moment, but I don’t see where the number of gay romantic characters outdo straight romantic characters.

I’m sure there’s former/current/insinuated couples I’m missing in both straight couples and gay ones, but just from playing casually through the game I fail to see where homosexual romances outweigh straight ones. Straight relationships in-game are far from becoming rare.

For me, weekends are best usually. If we’re aiming for Saturday again, my Saturdays are usually completely open. So whenever is best for everyone.

I got a message from Aaron about the run this weekend, but wasn’t able to make it at the time it was tried. I would still love to come along and my partner in crime would love to join as well. We’ve got nothing going on next week We’e been trying to do our own part doing some collecting. So we’re two to count for a run.

As far as I know I have all my guest spots still open so I can join in on any dungeon runs (I read somewhere that most of the [Lore] guys are in Sanctum of Rall? Which is a NA server I believe, I live in Europe and play on Far Shiverpeaks, I don’t know if guesting works for oversea servers?)

Anyway, the sooner I join you guys the better I reckon.

I don’t know about guesting, but dungeons are cross-server, so we should be able to do them without going to that trouble.

Dungeons and certain instances (like the Halloween Bloody Prince instances in Ascalon) are cross-server so there’s no worry about having guesting spots for those. Thankfully, or that’d just be a huge pain.

I know people from EU servers come over to play on US servers through guesting, so they don’t disallow due to regions. You just may or may not have a little more lag.

I’m absolutely down for dungeon runs for dialogue. The other Dragonbranders in [Lore] that I know of would be up for it too at any point (the what, whopping 5 of us unless we’ve gotten new people I haven’t seen yet?) We’re already working on getting through the dungeons, story and explorables, and usually attempt at least one a week.

I’ll remember to do a lot more screencapping as we go from now on or have Fraps up to record stuff just in the off chance it’s needed

Honestly, I couldn’t care what happens to most of LA.

But I’m with the people hoping that the old LA ruins are left alone. Destroying those would be a huge upset to a lot of people, myself included. The less of them affected the better >.>

Tengu are, honestly, most likely to be the next race they release for play whenever they do. They were already working to make them a playable race for launch when they were developing the game but had to cut back on races. The Dominion of Winds was to be their starter zone.

Question 1: What has Livia been up to since Sea of Sorrows?

Question 2: What happened to the Scepter of Orr since Livia had it?

Question 3: What happened to Lazarus the Dire after he was defeated? Where did he go? Do the Mursaat, what little remain if any, have any influence on the modern GW2 White Mantle?

Question 4: What was the beef between the Mursaat & the Seers? What started that war between them?

Question 5: What happened to the Glint statue in Droknar’s Forge? There’s no real remnants that I could find in the sunken area – did it just get destroyed naturally in the sinking?

While the naming convention for Sylvari runs more on the celtic side, there isn’t anything that says humans can’t have celtic-sounding names too.

There are Human NPCs within the game that have Celtic/Gaelic names. Aidem Finlay, Elmo Finnigan, Killian, and more.

That just means whatever story you went through with your friends doesn’t actually apply to you since it isn’t your own personal story. Hence, “It was all jsut a dream”.

The reason Gohr wasn’t recognized, I think is because we know the name to be spelled Gorr.

I think, if they bring in another playable race, it will be the Tengu.

Why? They were already intended to be a playable race. According to the ‘making the game’ book that came with the Collector’s Edition, they were going to be playable but the team decided to scale down on the races and they got the boot for release. That’s why there’s the Dominion of Winds – that was their starting area and when they got set aside for launch, they just closed off the region.

I don’t know what other races might have been playable (the wording in the book – which I can quote when I get home if folks want and can look at it as right now I’m at work – made it sound like there were even more ideas for starting races than the five we were given and Tengu) but my guess is since they have a starting area already set right in the middle of the game? They’d be the first on the introduction list.

I was figuring the ‘per capita’s could be for the original betters, there. I don’t have a ton of gold myself – and good lord I don’t expect anyone to be paying 50g per head to all of us hoping Scarlet isn’t involved. The first betters, up to Drax for making that bit even, can worry about the per capita bit.

The rest of us, if willing to keep in the stakes, can throw into a pool that’ll be split up among the winners? That makes it fair for those of us who have a rather limited amount of gold but like the little bit of fun of gambling on. There’s probably a better way to do it but I’m not one of those math/stakes/etc people

Oh lordy, only three…

1. Wizard’s Tower. That has had me incredibly curious since I first saw it in GW1. There’s a giant floating castle you can’t get into and you know nothing about who made it, why it’s there, who is currently in it. The same questions remain in GW2 – along with the whole thing with the elementals and townsfold invitations.

2. Mursaat holes. Where’s this city of theirs? Were there in truth more Mursaat than those we saw in GW1? What the heck happened to Lazarus after he escaped swearing vengeance? What’s the history behind the hatred of them and the Seers? For as much as we know about them, there’s a lot we don’t.

3. The Six Gods & relations. I just want to know everything. Where they come from, the other realms, the whole thing with Abaddon’s falling out, etc.

It’s not really lore, or a loose end, but I would also really love to get a gander at what Orr looked like in its heyday.

I’ll admit… I was pretty disappointed to.

I was a bit upset when the Betas came around that I couldn’t get into that area. When I heard we were being brought there (for whatever reason O.o) for B&M I found myself all excited that we get to head in there.

Only it was a rather standard old crypt. Was it cool to see some more Ascalonian ruins? Sure. Was it what I expected/wanted/hoped for? Not even remotely close.

Not that I need to be one to count toward any ‘per capita’ but I’ll throw in 20g to the Not-Scarlet pool. Merely out of hope and optimism that not everything LS related anymore has a blasted tie to the Red Salad.

Maybe it’s because of having suffered in the game (with big honchos being defeated, the Orb being stolen, turned to risen, etc.) that this building of the obelisk is a move made because they’ve been hit hard. An attempt to gain an advantage over the other local races for area domination? Whether some ascension or ritual purpose or something with a less religious purpose and more of a fortifiable stronghold.

But, in terms of the OP, I do find it unlikely that it’s sole purpose is to get to the Dominion. Might be a side benefit, but hey.

We’re not ready to reveal the whole truth about the Uncategorized Fractal yet, but I can tell you that it does not represent a potential future for Rata Sum. All of the other fractals represent discrete sections of the past, recreated. We have the ancient past, more recent past, and mythic/lost to history past, but there are no futures in there.

He nixes the Rata Sum idea, but doesn’t say anything about that specific fractal being strictly past. Just states all the other fractals represent the past which leaves a bit of a hole there for them. Sooooo more plausible than I thought :P

Even if the Luminaries Plant is building a new city cube, it can’t be the Uncategorized Fractal. A dev specifically said that Fractal was a past event and not future. Only way it could be is if the Plant has had a few bad runs in the past.

I could be remembering incorrectly but in regards to the Rebels… I remember there being a baron/lord or some-type during last year’s Halloween events mentioned somewhere, one who wasn’t a huge fan of the Mad King. There were Lunatics that were more allied with him than the King, and I think it’s those rebels that are now sided with Edrick.

There’s a lot of ambient and hidden-away dialogue I ended up missing, I’m sure, as I didn’t spend a ton of time in the maze and barely even tried the Inquisition.

I just seem to be missing most of the active chatting that happens during the day, since I’m at work. It’s been a bit more quiet when I’m on in the evenings (sadly).

@Konig – It just happened this time that in Aisina’s search for lore buddies that a lot of people went OH HEY THERE’S A LORE GUILD HUH >.> (or at least that’s what happened in my case)

That is true and really the confusion and why I’m not 100% sure that what I remember is correct. I’m sure someone with more know-how will come along and make the corrections.

But, still in line with the theory that it is just the collective entity – we don’t know a whole heck of a lot about the Dwarves during the last time of the ED rise (I might know even less as I haven’t done any of the Arah explorable paths, if there’s any key tidbits in there). Some of that might be a case of storytelling – not all recorded history is actual fact or written by who it was claimed to be. I will point to our own Bible (and such related religious books that have very little to no proof of what was written about being actuality).

If there was an actual Great Dwarf, his power (or part of it) was what was given the the Dwarves in the Rite. It could be there was a guy, and he’s off in the Mists now and what remains is the power channeled from him in the Rite. Or it could be that the Dwarves had a collective consciousness in the past and the Tome of the Rubicon describes their acts as if it was done by a single entity, written by one under its effects. A simple matter of interpretation.

Couldn’t tell ya where the creation of the Dwarves would have come from, though, if that was the case (another known god, perhaps?).

The way I understood it, the Great Dwarf isn’t actually one figure. It’s a collective consciousness among the Dwarves created by the ritual that allows them to combat the Great Destroyer. It’s just that he’s referred to as a single entity.

So, if my memory is right, there really is no good comparison to the 6 Gods or the EDs in terms of the rituals power. It’s enough to give the Dwarves a distinct edge against the Great Destroyer and Primordus’ forces, but obviously not enough to really be much more than a pain in the rear since the destroyers are just whittling the Dwarves down.

I’m with StevenMah on this one. :P Every time I find a group running explorables, I almost feel too rushed to not skip the cutscenes as every time I do, it ends to almost all of my party mates up ahead. I’ve gotten used to having to skip and go back to read the dialogue in the chat window later >.>

I, myself, am very interested in [Lore]. Goes to show how much I pay attention but had I known there was a good lore-centric guild out there I would have sought them out sooner >.> I’ve been reading GW lore forums since about 2005 and being in a group of people that was more than my best friend and I that like the lore as much as I did? That’d be phenomenal.

Observed Ally: My original answer before actually thinking about it would have been Glint. But, I will have to say the Forgotten because without them Glint wouldn’t have been an ally at all. Plus, there’s all the other things they’ve done already touched on by Konig.

Guessed Ally: Largos. Partly chosen just because I would really like to see and learn more about them. But as mentioned already, they have experience with Bubbles, they’re intelligent and aware (Sayid even knew how to read Orrian script). Plus, they’re sneaky and crafty buggers. Who look really cool >.>

Observed Enemy: Mursaat. You had to have True Sight to see them unless they wanted to be seen. No one knows really where they came from before Saul discovered them. You had to have specially infused armor to withstand Spectral Agony. They manipulated a good portion of a human kingdom, hid themselves from the last rise of the Elder Dragons, nearly wiped out the Seers, and kept the Door of Komalie closed until the PCs came along. Plus, there’s still the possibility (however small) that they’ll be making an appearance yet.

Guessed Enemy: Put in another vote for Primordus. He’s underground – somewhere. No one knows where he is, where he might pop up, and his minions can crop up anywhere. There’s no real scope of how big his forces are and he’s got the Dwarves in a rough position. He is, at least in my opinion, the most unpredictable of the known dragons.

I can’t say I miss those blasted aloes popping up out of the ground.

Well, I meant ‘possession’ in less of a controlling manner and more of a… I don’t know how to put it exactly but I feel like you would have to be a presence within someone’s mind to be able to look out of their eyes instead of just being able to look into their mind and play a few tricks. The mesmer would still be an outside influence, if you will.

But, maybe something like that could be pulled off if one was an extremely powerful mesmer? Or perhaps it could be done by an experienced mesmer if their subject was allowing it – which could be an entire thing altogether. Usually when a mesmer is messing with someone or looking into their mind, their subject isn’t willing.

@Unfathomed- Well, it’s at least possible for a mesmer to look into the mind of someone else if they’re powerful enough. We know this from when Jennah looked into Kralky’s mind in Edge of Destiny.

I’m not sure if it would expand to seeing out of their eyes too, though. To me that sounds less like mental manipulation/mind-sight and more possession, which I don’t believe is something mesmers have in their kitten nal. They can affect but not control.

Only possible exception is when Snaff attempted to break into Kralky’s mind – but I don’t recall that being hinted at as mesmer magic. I could just be not recalling the book correctly (and I’m at work so I don’t have it handy, either) but I don’t think we were even told what actual profession Snaff seemed to be.

I don’t think there’s any definite answer to this – because they don’t exist in reality to study.

There is definitely a relation, being that all Krytan rulers are descendants okitteng Doric. Exactly what relation he is to Jennah, though, I couldn’t tell you (as I don’t recall any mention of him outside of the DR gardens and I can’t find anything on the web). She’s a direct descendant of Queen Salma – so it’s likely I guess that he also has a direct link to Jennah since he’s somewhere in between.

Salma took the throne officially 1079 AE (or at least took Lion’s Arch throne too). There was Prince Edair (don’t recall mom/dad’s name if it was even mentioned in SoS) in 1256 AE. Leaves a lot of holes for who was in charge since Salma, sadly.

I’m pretty sure it happened right before the fight, yes, when Logan went to Jennah. Eir made the decision to fight anyway, believing they could win and that was their best shot at Kralky.

While it was Eir’s decision to stay and fight a member short, people still lie the blame on Logan. Myself included. For me, it’s less about whose fault it was that the attack against Kralkatorrik failed and more about the idea of abandoning your friends when they counted and depended on you. But as Konig said, there was no right answer for Logan.

At least before the conclusion of dungeon story modes, Zojja holds Eir accountable for Snaff’s death (rather vehemently) and Rytlock has some severe problems with Logan, viewing Logan’s departure as a rather big betrayal (or so that’s the vibe I get from Rytlock’s lines in cinematics).

I recall hearing about leviathan-related events in Mount Maelstrom being found in the gw.dat. That was likely where it was to be.

I think there was also one in Lion’s Arch. But it was either removed, or it’s still there, but hidden outside the map bounds. If anyone ever managed to get out of the map, we’d know for sure.

I’ve been under LA map. There are no Leviathans down there (but there is a strange, unreachable portal that looks like the ones found in GW1 Nightfall between zones).

Konig mentioned it in another thread, but there’s some bones of the Maw (from Sea of Sorrows) at the ‘Pride & Maw’ PoI just past Claw Island that can be seen in the instance. Haven’t seen anything like the images the OP gave, though.

Also those that, after participating for 2 hours, took a quick bio break to come back and have the chest disappear before they could reach it. And not receiving any other event credit.

This happened about two weeks ago, and while I did place a bug report, Dredging was listed on the known list of bugs. I had tagged along with a friend for Dredging, and accepted the story for my own personal line. When I exited the instance, I had been jumped to the level 48 quest.
