“Toxin” is likely going to be a new condition that we’ll only see from new content, so that won’t even affect WvW.

A minor heal that can remove poison, torment, and confusion from yourself and up to four adjacent allies will be next to useless in WvW, because that would never be worth trading your actual heal skill for. Every class (except Thief) already has better condition removal than that from at least one utility or heal skill.

This thread is ridiculous.

Its more about principle than one healing skill. You should take a look at Anet history of adding new skills thru each gw1 release concluding with EotN. There wassn’t any powercreep thru gear but there sure was via skills.

I’ve seen how they handle introduction of new skills and i beleve that my fears are justified.

I played GW1 for 8 years, I think I know its history an evolution fairly well. This skill seems to be experimental more than anything. It seems that they’re adding just this one skill, primarily aimed at removing “toxin”, and seeing how players react to the addition of a universal skill (aside from Mistfire Wolf). I’m sure it will undergo some changes in the future, but it seems more like Lightbringer Signet than Ursan Blessing.

So adding skills that will only really be useful in one place, to deal with new condition (which honestly i dont think we need, 9 conds on me while i try to survive 50 players blob is enough ty) is good design choice?

How about having all 10 conditions on you in guild wars one during an alliance battle stacked on top of 5 or more of the vast number of hexes the game also had. Personaly i will take the 12 conditions we currently have now probably going to be 13 and 8 control effects with stun breakers over dazed on top of backfire on top empathy migraine while your getting wastrel spammed by the mesmer next to you saying go head try and RoJ the shrine lets see how far you get though the cast. I will take 50 players and a zerg over complete and utter shutdown by a single person at least if i see a zerg theirs a chance at running away but with the mesmer he will snare you and wastrel you to death while you hexed up the wazoo with all his kitten.

Still not any great villian. She’d fit to Rayman Adventures or Lego Series with PEGI +6, but not to actual MMO.
Most of the playerbase is very fed up with all that magitech and salad all around, I tell you.
Give us a villian like Vizier, Shiro, Palawa Joko from GW1, Vilgefortz from Roggeven from The Witcher Saga, or Azar Javed from The Witcher 1 game, something grim, villian that we actually respect…not a mad salad lady who appears everywhere in every plot, runing it due to her middle-age crysis and menopause…

Its a fantasy game fantasy can include any amount of technology or magic based powers and ideas in any shape form or fashion

Uh, they said we would get new skills that’ll be unlocked in PvE via skill points and will be in sPvP just like every other skill, something about a universal PVE ONLY heal doesn’t scream “these are the skills we said we’d add!” To me..

So what is purpouse of universal pve healing skill?

Keep in mind that this is only beggining, i hated EotN for grinding pve so my pve only skills would work better, because they were far better than alot of class skills, especially with max rep points, which is why you couldnt find any pve build without ursan’s blessing, pain inverter, drunken stance or whatever…

I just don’t like the smell of this update…

Its to deal with the new condtion added with the new content toxin and at the same time be a alternative heal skill for classes that lack a hard condition removal heal. I dont see warriors guardian Thief’s or necromancers or elementalist replacing any of there already powerful healing skills with it i am sure mesmers will make use off it and rangers thous the only two classes that mite make the most off this healing skill. if it heals that ranger pet also then its mite be a total replacement for heal as one.

Do you know something rest of us don’t? Plz do share.

I know that your goacking on about power-creep from a condition removal skill that’s universal to all classes that most classes probably will not run cues they have stronger options and that Light combo fields cant already do. I know for a fact i will not run this over hide in shadows on my Thief Or Ether Renewal on my elementalistIf it dosent heal my ranger pet along with me i most def will not run it on my ranger over heal as one maybe on my mesmer of its a heal comparable to ether feast with condition removal to make up for the lose of extra healing via clones.

Umm, I don’t think you know what the phrase “subject to change” mean.

I do know what it means tyvm. You asked why people think Anet promised all that stuff, and I just answered that.

It dosent seem like it you do you linked a list of none set in stone things being worked on none of wich were or are gureenteed to make it in game any number of the things listed could be pushed back or held off in a instance if arena net desired

Do we not get anything else for Halloween (like a better way to get corn/materials? for those ridiculous cost new items/recipe)? Is the tower the only thing we’re gonna be able to do for those two weeks (besides the existing Halloween stuff)? No QoL item(s)? Is there anything permanent being added (tower obviously won’t be…)?

Why is it “obviously” not permanent? We have seen nothing about what’s actually involved in this update so I don’t see how you can know that?

Because they’ve stated in the patch preview/release pages whether or not something is permanent. Since there’s a lack of the word permanent in the description of the tower, its obviously temporary.

And yes the preview page is still lacking every tiny detail on it and will mostly be filled in after the live stream. Also if they worked this hard to stealth change a already existing area in a holiday patch i doubt its to troll and add it temporarily i don’t think we get a new condition and a universal heal skill to deal with that new condition as temporarily content.

Molten Weapons Facility?

You bring up a temporary dungeon to a stealth change that happened in already existing open world area that’s was unrelated to the holiday patch that brought it even if the tower itself is temporary they cant just change every thing that did to the area back to honky dory normal with out some kinda consequence from having the tower be there ether way its perma open world content one way or another.

My thought is that toxin will be contained to the new tower, like agony is tied to fractals. Enemies and environmental fields there will surely have it, thus the connection, but the I would wager the condition will be tied to the content and not (initially) spread beyond it.

This condition is not even in the same category as agony you cant remove or deal with agony directly like conditions

The universal healing skill makes me happy. FINALLY Rangers can have an active condition cure instead of all these passives. Also, I have a feeling Toxin will be across the board, in all forms. I just hope that Toxin isn’t that abundant…like maybe 1 thing that can give it for certain classes (like how Torment is).

If you get knocked out of the spring then what this removes 4 potentially devastating conditions from you and on allies right then and there so already its more powerful then the spring in a sense also what it dosent remove combo feilds can do better

Well if CC and condi is an issue for you as a ranger you should rethink your build. Ranger has some of the best passive condi removal and the most evades. Also I’d say healing spring is active condi removal considering you must activate the skill in order to proc the cleanse, that’s like saying Well of Power is passive just because of the clean on pulse mechanic. Signet of Renewal and Empathetic Bond are good examples of passive, and Sig of Renewal has an active cleanse. Either way I hope this condition and the heal are treated as racial skills, we don’t need this in pvp.

What ranger actually takes that selfish grand-master trait and that pet handicapped signit you give up a tone of dmg for that small bit of condition removal. and a guardian can do that even better with absolute resolution tacked on if the guardian is packing lyssa runes and Renewed Focus elite he can easy eat conditions alive

Sounds artificial, like an Engy condition.

Toxin is not produced artificially it can be produced from living things like snake and spider venom toxins are dangerous to the touch though and can spread like wildfire that way

My fear is they will introduce the new skills the same way they have added back-pieces and other armour in game… it will be the exact same skill between all classes. No differences at all between classes…

I think its important to raise concern now because this is something ArenaNet is very likely to do.

Also this patch is seriously lacking content, i get the feeling Ascended armour was meant to be added in this patch but because of complaints about how ugly the sets looked they are holding off?

Thats the point of a universal skill its suppose to be the same for every class in the game at least for this new skill that’s the deal. Any way this new skill is already raising a hellstorm of concerns from people better to add one and witness what backlash or criticism comes from it and its implication

If wander dose it stack in intensity or duration i wander if this Condition can transfer existing ones to other foes making for strategic stacking of this extremely lethal even if its just like GW1 it would cause a bit of panic if its being covered by other kitten and spreads like wild fire among a zerg the only problem is that the condition is like a double edged sword it hurts u and foes. I can see this as totally obliterating a tight packed mindless zerg in wvw if its strong enough.

You cant just go adding loads of skills just like that with out throwing PvE WvW and SPvP balance out of whack well maybe not spvp one more thing the skill is probably like a racial you know unusable in spvp.i DONT GET HOW YOU PEOPLE THINK ARENA NET PROMISED US ALL THAT.

A person will have to carry this ability in most new PvE content I would guess. This will make this person the “healer.”

How is this a trinitys when any one with a light combo field can do better condition removal and not have to sacifice a powerfull self heal skill for a probably small AoE heal similar to healing spring probably and if this skill roots you in place like the picture suggest it dose this skill will have no place in WvW

Not really. Mesmers already have 2 skills like that, Null Field and Power Cleanse, and those aren’t even healing skills. Guardians can also group cleanse with PoV.

You gotta also remember that this is a healing skill, and you can only have one of those. You can’t just pop your main source of healing whenever you feel like it, and you’ll have to give up the benefits of another healing skill to use it (eg Warriors would have to give up their precious OP Healing Signet).

that just proves why its OP.. its universal, so everyone just pops that and woop… mesmers become even more useless.

Don’t want to sound like a total whine. Just trying to provide feedback stating that the general idea of the skill sounds a bit overpowered and making certain other classes/spells pointless rather then this spell adding something renewing. I hope the release will prove me wrong

First of all, Mesmers aren’t just there to condition cleanse, that’s actually mainly the job of PoV Guardians amongst other things.

And like I was saying before, you don’t just pop your healing skill to get rid of some conditions unless it’s THAT urgent. Also, you’ll have to give up other benefits for it, and I can’t think of any Warrior who would give up Heing Signet for that.

This there so many other options for condi removal its not funny light fields alone can remove kitten tones with out a second thought. The skill dose help some classes lacking a nice way to remove condition’s tough hint hint rangers so it will be gold for them to use and probably expected of them to run this now.

Toxin definition: Toxin is a poisonous substance produced within living cells or organisms synthetic substances created by artificial processes are thus excluded. Toxins can be small molecules, peptides, or proteins that are capable of causing disease on contact with or absorption by body tissues interacting with biological macromolecules such as enzymes or cellular receptors.

With thats said will this condition be like the everlasting disease that were in a few condition heavy builds from GW2 and dose any one remember how annoying it was running into condition pressure builds in GvG back then running virulence/tainted fleash. I WAS thinking the same thing but you have to factor recharge radius how much it actualy heals for and the fact it only removed Toxin torment poison and confusion and Toxin mite be a new condition if the heal dosent heal that much its not that big a deal also the conditions it dose remove can be applied in rapid succession and i think threre only a few skill and a rune set in the game that give torment

You do know that when they were about to introduce the halloween update the preview page was bare to the bone with out even so much as a video i doubt every thing has ben reveled about the patch on the preview page so chances for skin are high also the new halloween costumes were just put out and i don’t think the preview page even said any thing about them

I really don’t think the krait are above making an alliance to gain so ground in their power struggle The point being is this a forced alliance thanks to the unkown benefactor i am still thinking mordremoth what do the nightmare court have to gain helping the krait.

Well the voice did say madness and scarlet represents madness but i realy dont think she is involved i dont think toxin and trees are her forte there would be at least a trace of steam punk if scarlet was involved i am thinking mordrmeth is using the nightmare court to spread his corruption to kessex hills. i will tell you know if the new skins and items are locked behind a RNG paywall imma be so kittening kitten ed it will just ruin this update for me.

The bumped down halloween to work on this and give us a small taste of the bigger update ever sense kessex hills changed this update has ben the talk of the forums the last 6 days we still got halloween but this patch is obviously the main mac daddy of October. Its good that ther changing areas that people rarely pay attention to they will get more player putting out updates like this. This truly feels like a living world

Zerg content = auto attack and afk. Why bother with the mechanics when zergs can simply ignore them.

cause the grand Viscount can one shot a fully stacked hp warrior with certain skill’s and AFK on it is bad cuas if you die in a bad spot no one can res you and you will not get credit if you dont do enough dmg on it not to mention the boss goes buck wild at time just like the lich.

First off Regina said ther would be a bloody prince costume if it hasn’t arrived yet its gonna hit us in the Oct 22 update witch most people here seem to forgotten about we have 1 more Halloween related update to come. Think of this 15 update as Bloody prince introductory decoration and major patch balance witch was what the main portion of the Oct 15 update was about. So its safe to say the the major portion of the Halloween update will be hitting us the 22 though the rest of the month witch will probably introduce the costumes and rest of the events and more lore behind the bloody prince.

So wait if you have the old recipe for the gift of souls I can still use that? Since it’s still showing the old requirements at this point from what I can see (I do have it).

The only items that changed were the materials needed to combine in the mystic forge to discover the recipes for the Gift of Spiders, Souls and Moon.

The materials needed to craft the gifts from the recipe itself and the items needed to craft the resulting weapons has not changed.

I would love to see the old blc skins return as a gem item like rox quiver and not RNG based trash that makes you spend more money then actually intended.

The fact they didn’t come back is filled with so much WIN I am almost moved to tears of joy… I’d say I told you so but I am guessing that would sting a bit…

First off the skin were RNG based and out of a gem item when they could have ben just easily put on the gem store for actual gems people would have eaten them out then you can say there not coming back i didnt have a problem for paying for them with cash and gems the problem is the RNG factor of the stupid chest.

Because you can use these skins in pvp, amirite? Pvp players care about skins outside of pvp? Doesn’t that make them… Pve?

You do know you can convert them to be used in pvp and all pvp toons you make right just saying yes PvPers care about skins you should see the PvPers in my guild who have there PvP toons decked nice looking gear

The fact they didn’t come back is filled with so much WIN I am almost moved to tears of joy… I’d say I told you so but I am guessing that would sting a bit…

You didn’t tell anyone anything. You stated what you wanted to happen and it didn’t. Three of the old skins are now craftable, the rest were not brought back. Of course no one will likely succeed in actually crafting any of them this year, but I suppose there are some people who seriously have no lives.

I think the bigger sting is simply knowing that you’re the type of person who is moved to tears of joy because people are denied the opportunity to win cosmetic items simply because they missed the opportunity a year ago.

Pssssssstttt…. the ones that are craftable this year… were craftable last year too… I am talking about the BLC skins

You can still by the old skins for gold on TP i just brought a shield skin gold is not hard to make man

The difference is im not biased towards any class. And I play 5/8 classes in optimized groups with high levels of coordination.

But yeah it has turned into a badmouthing contest so I will stop because its pointless with how stubburn we forum posters are despite being shown logic. Ive been the same in the past.

Your post have show nothing but a biased looking down upon the class you haven’t said a single positive thing about the class in any post you have only said what other classes do better with out actually contributing anything meaningful to say about the class at all. All you have ben doing is putting down others and insulting them and the class imho
