the other atunements are worth your time because there are no fights in this game where you don’t get hit. Not to mention you can combo-field off yourself using earth and fire to grant yourself might to give yourself more damage + if you’re running staff you’re most likely running a glyph of battle which gives you more might which does more damage.

I handle them pretty easily, they never kill me cause I don’t sPVP

That’s what I use on my staff ele, Gear is pow > tough/vit, with 5 fire runes and one 25 power rune (balthazar is fine). Staff uses a superior sigil of battle, and just remember to shift elements often.

EDIT: It seems to be mostly power, so it’d require a lot of dodging, and survivability would be a bit low. Maybe something a little more balanced? (That’s what my ele friend told me, anyway)

actually you can stand and tank quite a bit if you gear it right. It stacks power for damage, but if you notice it has no crit. The rest of the stats are dumped into tough/vit. Try it, you won’t regret it.

I use staff as an ele, I can stack 25 might no problem (giving me 3500 power), I have 20k health and I use cantrips. I… do…. not… die. Staff elementalists in pve are plenty powerful and have a ton of utility in snares, AoE damage (which most classes in this game lack) and that wonderful AoE condition removal we call healing rain. If you’re having issues surviving, you need to go read a few more guides and get some new armor or something. You’re doing something terribly wrong.

Dude’s an idiot. Any ele who doesn’t do the Attunement Shuffle (it’s a dance that’s sort of like Gangnam style, but with elements) is a kitten Don’t listen to him, he’s just making our class look bad.

I’m just as kitten about the minipets as everyone else. I was a minipet collector until about 3 days ago, now I decided i just don’t care anymore. I’m not gonna spend my money on a chance for a minipet. I’m hoping they repeat them next year with another method to obtain them.

That said, I came from a game called Star Trek Online. If you think buying lottery boxes here is bad… try playing STO. We have to remember yes it’s RNG, but it’s for something TOTALLY cosmetic. It helps us in no way better our characters. In a lot of other F2P you have to pay to even hold your own against other players, lets at least take a moment to be thankful that GW2 is not on that track. I’m dreaded the day I see gear on the Gemstore and I hope it never happens.

you need a little tactic to beat it. Have 3 people defend the left seal, and 2 people run the hammer. Once the left seal is done, go do the right.

Blasting staff makes it MUCH easier for your party to use combo fields, that’s it’s actual use.

prayer to dwayna is the best spike heal for an ele that isn’t speced into glyphs I did math =)

Here, this is a little more useful than any of the crap I’ve seen on here. Munchkins don’t do well in this game, you can’t be full support/damage/or tank. The build I put up there is a nice combination of everything.

For gear use 5 superior fire runes and one Balthazar rune. You want the AC armor with power/tough/vit, and try to get accessories with the same. They come out of WvW so it might be a little tough to get, but it’s worth it.
You’ll want a superior sigil of battle on your staff.

The use of the build is pretty simple, stack the kitten out of might, break 3500 power, and blow kittens up while being completely unkillable because of how much hp and toughness you have and your cantrips. You’ll want to combo field off your lava font/burning retreat + eruption for maximum effectiveness. You can easily stack 25 might on yourself in combat and just blow stuff away. You can’t do much damage if you’re dead, nor are you helping your party if they have to res you every 10 seconds. Enjoy owning everything in PVE.

Oh if you’re a human you might wanna use prayer to Dwayna, it does more healing over time.

So, I was thinking about the dances, and how much they’re used. It’s really quite often that people have to go afk in dungeons and either costume brawl themselves to death or dance.

So I was thinking, why don’t we have dance cards like we did in Aion. You can learn other dances from said cards to use on your character. You could even toss them on the BLT, I’m sure it would sell quite a bit.

Once you’ve run a few dungeons you’ll see it’s not zerg anymore. There’s ways to stay alive in fights, you just need to strategize and coordinate with your party.

Also, best thing I can tell you about your WoW experience, it doesn’t amount to a bag of kittens in this game. Approach the game as an MMO virgin and you’ll have a way better time.

Jump puzzles need to be a care bear zone. I’m tired of getting jumped by like 8 dudes from the other faction in there.

oh come on, it’s not that big a deal. It’s not like there’s only one build for ele.

my self and 4 other guildies have the full set. It just takes practice. Once you’ve learned the fight inside and out (and wiped about 30 times learning it) it’s a piece of cake. Today I 3 maned it with pugs.

The big problem is being able to do blast finishers on lavafont and granting a kittenLOAD of area might. It was bugged.

because they’re easy to obtain. If you could sell them the price of exotics would drop drastically.

However on the other side of the spectrum, I need soldier earings and I can’t get them because they only drop from fractals.

Middle of the road is the way to go. Glass cannons get kittentomped in this game, and tanks are useless. Try to approach this game as a videogame virgin. I run an ele, with gear favoring pow > tough/vit. I can’t tank, I can’t top the DPS charts (which don’t exit), but I do decent damage and I don’t hinder my team by having them res me every 15 seconds.

with the backpack you don’t need the ring. There was some testing done, 5 agony resistance reduced the damage by about half. More than enough to keep it manageable, until rediculus levels.

For those of you who think your play style is more important than completing a dungeon in the most efficient manner conceivable, and refuse to cooperate with your teams wishes, please keep my name in mind. If you somehow end up in a group with me, let me know so I can leave.

yall know you can just craft the back piece right? I made the one I wanted and it only cost around 50 gold.

if you’re in MY group, you play how I want you to play. I don’t care how long you spent building your character or how many achievements you have under your belt. If you don’t play how I want you to play, I’ll just go find someone who will. That’s just how I run my parties, and generally when I’m acting like Genghis Khan, I get kitten done.

I said this in another post, but I’ll say it again. They’ve already stated that precursors are WAY more valuable than intended. They want it to have a different feel when you obtain them. This is the first step in making precursors more accessible to people.

Secondly, getting a precursor is not an instant legendary. There’s still quite a bit of items you need.

precurors are going to be much easier to obtain, it was stated before. This is simply the first step. Yall need to quit getting your panties in a twist.

I just posted a rant about this, but I think the biggest problem is just there’s to many munchkins in this game. People want to maximize damage, or defense, or support, this game isn’t built like that. You gotta be middle of the road.

This thread makes me cry. Your character isn’t supposed to be a munchkin. You don’t build glass cannons, healers, or tanks in this game. A well rounded character goes a LONG way. My ele for instance, runs staff with pow > tough/vit gear and a glyph build of my own design. I don’t get slaughtered, I don’t deal bad damage, I can help my friends with my skills (thank you elemental atunement), and overall the most important thing you can do to support your friends is be REALLY good at resing them in bad situations.

NO MORE MUNCHKINS! I can’t stress this enough.

You get 20 tokens a day, and a bonus 4 for the first time of doing that path a day. You’re getting the amount you’re supposed to.

Get a bow, train in obtaining reflexes like Bruce Lee.
