Well now we know they’re working on it at least. They disabled some of the traits that unbalanced the game. There’s still more to go.
Now I doubt that’s what’s happening. Lets try to keep the rage down, I’m pretty sure it’s being worked on, I’d just like a little communication… some transparency…. something.
Doesn’t have to be in depth. Just a simple, "you aint got no problem max, I’m on the problem, go back there and chill them pvpers out, and wait for the cavalry which will be coming directly. "
May have aged myself there with that movie quote adaptation, but there ya go.
kitten, thats all you had to say!!
thank you, I thought that was lost on everyone.

We know you guys are working on a fix, but we haven’t heard anything. I think it would go a long way to make the community feel like this is just a storm we have to bare until a fix comes out if someone would just post “we’ve heard, we’re working on it, it’s not gonna stay broken.”
I know at least I would feel much better if I just knew all these posts aren’t falling on deaf ears.
I’d like to see an elite where an elementalist can attune to all elements at once. Have all 4 attunements, giving all the bonuses of having the attunements, and perhaps 5 new skills relating to combination elemental attacks?
This is why we need patches every 2 weeks… you guys start complaining about trivial kitten when we don’t have content updates.
Lets remember Zhaitan is unfinished. There is supposed to be a whole second portion to that fight taking place at the Dragon’s Lair POI that we’ve never seen.
I’m guessing since you posted it in the lore section, you mean from a lore perspective. Well story-wise each class has something different to bring to the table. For instance, if you did the living story as an engineer, the chat options were different. So there are certain things a mesmer will understand in the story that a guardian for instance will not.
If you mean from a lore-army set up…. as in why does the vigil not just train everyone to use swords, well… different people are good at different things. If a dude is built like a brick kitten house, he’s probably gonna be better at swinging a sword. If a dude has some ability at flinging fireballs but isn’t all that great at swinging a sword… he might want to stick to what he’s good at.
Hey guys,
Just wanted to pop in and say that we are investigating the issues with the iron marches content as fast as we can so that we can get you guys back to progressing through the episode. These issues are indeed proving quite tricky to nail down (it’s not as simple as they simply won’t restart) but we are working hard to get everything addressed as quickly as possible.
Thanks for understanding and sorry for the inconvenience.
I know what would fix 99% of your problems… say it with me… TEST SERVER!!!!!! OMG! This is the ONLY MMO I have EVER seen that doesn’t use one! How much BROKEN CRAP do you have to shove down our throats before you realise you are WRONG?!
you are aware they do have test servers right? private test servers, but test servers none the less.
I understand finding the writing to her death being not as good as it could have been, but finding it offensive? I think someone’s been watching too much feministfrequency. You have to walk a LONG way to find sexism in guild wars 2. The whole game is filled with strong women that don’t use their sexuality as power.
I mentioned in another thread I don’t think we’re supposed to care about Belinda, but rather care about Marjory.
At any rate, thinking about it I actually really like it if there is no rhythm to when people die. If anyone can go at any time (similar to your Game of Thrones reference) it really keeps you guessing. I mean we all knew she was going to die, but what if when she first showed up in S2, half way through her saying “oh hey Jory!” she just got ripped in to quarters by a vine. That would be completely unexpected. Some characters can died after we’re invested in them, some die completely unexpectedly. But all men must die.
This is true, but they could have gotten a bit more out of us if ontop of feeling kinship with jory we could have also felt something for her death.
First off I’d like to say I’ve loved the second living story thus far. The content’s been great, the story’s been even better, and you’re bringing elements from the last story and even gw1 which has made me doubly excited to see what’s next. Furthermore, I’m having that whole game of thrones feeling when the episode ends and I scream out into the sky “NOOOO HOW COULD YOU END IT THERE?!”
The only critique I have for you is on Balinda’s death. For the future when you want to kill off a character, please give us time to be emotionally invested into them. If you just kill them off on the second episode when they were introduced into the first… the audience doesn’t have the gasp reaction I think you’re looking for.
no. You will be completely useless if you don’t switch attunements.
Stop making Anti-Melee bosses
in Battle for Lion’s Arch - Aftermath
Posted by: Maximillian Greil.1965
There are a few moments where you can melee the boss. The point is to be constantly switching between your melee and ranged weapons. I know I know, you didn’t roll an ele cause you didn’t want to have to constantly bars, but there ya go. You can safely range it for a while, an safely melee it when it’s casting that big circle pull.
For that profession evolution topic there at the end: My girlfriend plays an engineer, and the only complaint she has… the ONLY one is the kits clip with her human character. Please change the models of the kits to fit all races, or give them fanny packs xD. I think in a game about aesthetics having a more aesthetically pleasing engineer would get people to play it more.
bumping this amazing thread, maybe as long as it stays there, someone will pay attention.
I think the game just needs mobs with a smarter AI. In GW1 if a mob was taking too much AoE damage they’d stay out of the AoE, I think this game needs some kind of mechanic where if a mob is standing in a dangerous area, it’ll just move back and use ranged attacks.
You must know the dungeon before you do the dungeon. If you don’t know the fights EXACTLY you won’t do well in a dungeon, no matter what level you are.
A twist? in Guild Wars lore? I think you guys confused this game with something else.
Here’s the three big problems with lore:
-It’s not involved. From the personal story, to the living story, you don’t really determine the outcome. The most we’ve done is vote for elen kiel, or evon knashblade, and that didn’t really effect the story much.
-It’s not all that interesting. It’s a pretty boring story if you look at it from a writer’s perspective. There’s no much betrayal, no real characters you love to hate, just… kind of dry LotRs type story(I love LotR, but I wouldn’t want to read a years worth of stories about it).
-None of them have been finished. I don’t think we’ve really finished a story in guild wars as of yet. Plenty of starts, but no finishes. Hell, there’s still stories from GW1 that we haven’t finished. We need some resolution!
There ya go, this is what I think is the problem with the lore.
Sooooo, if you don’t like the achievements you dont have to do them. There is plenty of other stuff to do in this game. Given time i’m sure they will release content with achievements that appeal to you. The past 6 months content updates they have been mixing it up a lot in my opinion. I’m personally hoping they add in another zone like southsun cove when november comes around, along with fractals update. I’m having fun with the achievements available right now though.
other then achievements there is NOTHING left for me to do in the game. I’ve done it all to death. I have my legendary, ascended weapons, I’m set for ascended armor, I have done every dungeon to DEATH, built my guild and now I’m running a problem based off the initial reason for this post. I have close to 400 members… and 90% of them don’t log anymore. I did a purge about 6 months ago, and still this is the problem. I honestly think what’s happening with my guild is an accurate sample of the player base, and I’m terribly worried for the future of this game if it is.
Is anyone else’s guilds having this problem? where there’s just tons of inactive players who just stopped playing the game? Do you think the achievement system is what’s causing this drop in players? If we’re hemorrhaging players, there has to be a reason and it’s just as much our responsibility as it is the staff’s to figure out what it is. My opinion is it’s what I posted about.
I’m not saying they’re not easy to do. I’m just saying I’m tired of doing them. Why are achievements the primary goal of the patches?
It gives players goals and makes them login longer than if they didn’t exist
You can only do the same goal for so long. Achievement hunting is stale after a while. I’d like to see things the way they were before. You didn’t have a reason to do the achievements because they gave no reward, so in the end the content that was being pushed out was much higher quality.
(edited by Maximillian Greil.1965)
I liked the old achievement system, where achievement points gave no rewards so there was no compelling reason to do them.
I think it’s this stuff that is driving people away from the game. I have a guild of 300+ players… I have barely 20 of them log on. Out of a sample of 300 players as of the last 6 months… more than 90% of them have stopped playing. There is a problem.
I just wonder what the game would be like if they took the whole achievement system out.
No no, I think you guys are missing the point of the post. Maybe i worded it weird. There’s no other incentive to do some of this crap is what I’m saying. The past few patches have had a focus around achievements as an incentive. I want another incentive, an armor set, an awesome weapon, a new game mode, something!
I’m not saying they’re not easy to do. I’m just saying I’m tired of doing them. Why are achievements the primary goal of the patches?
I’m gonna try to keep this as constructive as possible without whining to much, but there will be some whining:
It seems to me, that with every new update that has come out, there is a long list of achievements we should be obtaining to get some kind of meta achievement. The achievements don’t feel like achievements anymore, they feel like chores, or like those quests in other games Arena net said they abhorred, “Go kill 50 of this mob” “Go kill enough mobs to get this many trick-or-treat bags,” and I just don’t wanna do it anymore. The problem ends up being, that if I don’t want to do the achievements… there’s nothing left to do. To try to keep this post as short as possible while still remaining constructive, I just want to ask that Arenanet please stop making these carrot on a stick type achievements designed to keep up playing. You guys have an awesome creative team and I know you’re better than this. You can keep us playing just on the merit of it being awesome content. Go back to the manifesto, look through, have that be your guideline and go back to square one. Start making content like you used to when the game first came out.
I’m wondering if i’m the only one who feels that Arenanet has played it very safe with their stories. There isn’t much betrayal, or really to many character that you love to hate. It seems like they’re just trying to make it so their stories don’t seem like they’re trying to hard, but in turn it seems like their lore is a little dry. Maybe I’ve just been on a Star Wars kick lately (reading books and playing games and such) and all other stories seem a little dry by comparison, but… well i thought I’d post and see if anyone else felt this way.
The blood prince sort of looks like Mad Queen Malafide.
I hope the second Halloween update perks this up, but from what I read on Guru… this all seems like just some minor changes from last years content. I was hoping for some new stuff.
The last couple patches haven’t really given us much to do.
I use ruby orbs cause… my ele’s squishy xD I’m never above 90% I never go down, but when doing tougher content with environmental effects, like the new TA for instance, I just never see myself above 90% health.
I love all these posts about “well anet just upgrade your hardware” I’m so glad you guys are offering to pay for it.
Well… Ascended items were supposed to be in the game at release, but I guess they didn’t want to make us wait another year. Agony was supposed to be used in dungeons, and may still be used in dungeons one day, perhaps with the introduction of hard mode? Anyway, point is I guess they want to saturate the game with agony resist before they put it in other places other than fractals. v
Let me know what kind of mushrooms you were having.
It’s true! they were talking about it when ascended items first came out.
I’m such a noob dungeon master, I forgot most of the dungeons simply because I haven’t done them in so long xD
Yes it can be nice what is more add option to do character on “Only pvp mode” like in Guild Wars 1 have it . But I think this people who will be playing on free wont do daily for laurels, in case of farming them before buy.
You simply give the client limited functionality. So things like:
- No Dailies
- No access to PvE / WvW content
- No TP access
That sort of thing.
of course. Something like that isn’t out of the question. I do think they should access to the Black Lion trading company though, for the purposes of gem store items. F2P players could buy time for arenas, and potentially make Anet a ton of cash.
The reason there is no trade in GW2 is because you can’t tax player to player trade. If people trade without being taxed then there’s no gold sink and inflation takes place.
I’ve noticed a sharp decline in sPVP as of late. Much longer queues, no one (at least on my server) in sPVP, and just overall lack of players. Anet has also said they wanted sPVP to be an eSports kind of thing, which is not very much the case at the moment.
My suggestion to fix most of these problems, have sPVP go free to play, not buy to play. There are so many eSports games out there that are free to play so why pick guildwars over any other? Guildwars blows away any game out on the market right now, graphicly, gameplay wise, balance….. is almost there, but no one knows about it.
The cons:
-Well.. you’d lose the purchases on people that just want to play sPVP.
-You’d also have to deal with the backend issue of a huge influx of new players.
The pros:
-Think of it like a trial version of GW2. People play the sPVP, and end up loving the combat and style of the game, so the decide to purchase it and play all the content.
-eSports would be possible with a much bigger population.
-A lot more arena token purchases on the gem store.
Just something I thought of and figured I’d write a post about. I think it’s something that should be considered, seeing as how sPVP is on life support as it seems (from my perspective anyway)
8/10 looks adorable, love the scepter, but I’m not a fan of exposing armor. The half naked look is done way to much.

yeah I was there leading and I wanted to kill everyone within a 10 mile radius when no one was resing at 1%. People just got kitteny =/
I boycott Tequatl. If anyone needs me I’ll be wrecking stuff in sPvP or CoF.
I was gonna post something but then I read this and decided it wasn’t worth it.
FA’s killed him twice
they’ll have to change it somehow…
I’m worried that when this boss week event is over, people aren’t going to team up to do this anymore and it’ll be pseudo-temporary content. I think, that Teq is perfect where he is for these two weeks, but he should be adjusted following that, to keep the fight alive. I hope Teq isn’t a wasted fight after these two weeks are over, I hope he stays hard… but is adjusted to be pugable. Until then, may the truly hard-core servers wave their flags of triumph over what has to be the most challenging content yet. I’m hoping FA can join those ranks today.
Displayed damage, the damage shown on the screen, is not what you’re actually hitting for, it’s a total of a number of hits. So people play the class with the biggest numbers, not the ones that do the most damage.
