What is NSP? Well compared to DH – it’s a much lower population server with skilled players who actually know how to use their chars and skills. NSP also boasts a large roamer population who doesn’t give a crap about pressing 1111 while ramming a door down, rather looks for the good/exciting fights in the field.

When I say DH is bad, I don’t mean their pvdoor skills, those are top-notch. What I mean is, they are for the most part skill-less when it comes to using their characters in a field battle. Not only that, but many of DH are cowards who will only fight with 2to1 odds in their favor, however still usually end up losing.

If you question my opinion about the lack of skills possessed by the average DH player well, just watch the couple vids NSP players have released this week and see for yourself.

Ive seen them. Im not saying that DH average isnt bad. Far from it. But that goes for the ‘average’ for any server. NSP isnt any different, i smash your ‘average’ player from NSP just like SBI, etc, or you do to DH or any roamer most likely would. In fact, i smash your average XOXO player too. Does that make them bad? Of course not. Also, ill back that up anytime, hmu. ^.^

Ah, so that guard was you. We ran into each other a number of times this week, had some pretty good fights. I noted to my guildies that you’re not to be underestimated. Too bad our bouts didn’t make the cut for your vid, but I suppose I understand why.

I think the idea is flawed. The greatsword, just like all weapons (in theory) has strengths and weaknesses. GS is arguably the best at mobility of any weapon from any class. Pick your poison scenario. 100b is meant to punish players/mobs that get immobilized, stunned or make the mistake of standing toe to toe with the warrior. If you could move, even a little while channeling the highest coefficient weapon skill in the game dmg wise then it would be terribly OP. In other words, why would anyone use anything else? Already GS is basically used by a large majority as it is. What you suggest will never, ever happen. Sorry.

I play this build and i have to say it wrecks most ppl because they dont understand what is going on and how to deal with it. From what i can tell the 2 things that can really throw a wrench in my plans is consistent poison & lots of blinds. Also, reduction of conditions like lemongrass & melandru/hoelbrak runes will help also.

Oozo, been goofing around on my warrior to try your build, it inspired me to troll about and it is lolztastic. I dont have quite the healing pow (800ish) but i put a little more into precision & condi dmg. Really fun when your life bar doesnt really move im just imagining the people im fighting against just are WTFing all over the place.

I am over this matchup already SBI and DH don’t seem to want to fight with less than 8:1 odds. This morning I find a solo ele instant mistform rtl into a camp, followed by inviting me to group to kittentalk then waypointing putting his commander tag on getting his 20+ man zerg to come back for me then /w spam whining about his server having too many pugs as if I gave a kitten.

I fought you yesterday, you are very glassy. I was playing my warrior and was very clunky since i hadnt played it since last year.. you laughed at me as i ran off from that mob of friendlies you had.. then i killed you when you chased that noob off the bridge. It was SBIBL on reset. Oh, that sword #4 torment hurts amirite? Moral of the story.. you talk alot of hype and although i have ran into some talented XOXO you are not all that good yourself, not terrible but certainly nothing to brag about. Props for roaming like a real pvper but get over yourself, the life of a roamer is always you against many.

So a solo roamer can be annoyed about not finding 1v1s without there being 5+ to roll them over but small groups can’t be annoyed that a known zerging guild might be around the corner to, you know, roll them over? Ok. It is literally the same idea. Even more ridiculous is being annoyed when you can’t find a solo roamer in WvW but that’s a different argument I guess.

i roam solo/duo or up to 5. In almost any ocassion when equal numbers or even close they leave without even engaging. Only when they are 2 steps from a tower, keep, or a pack of guards to they attack, and even then its timid. IDK, maybe im just in the wrong places? I’m not complaining about being zerged.. it happens when you play small man, and usually i can get out of the situation. It just been an underwhelming exp when i engage another small team with mine or solo or even 2v1 they just book it. W/e, tomorrow is a new match up. DR where art thou?!

Maybe you should join a guild that doesn’t run around in 30-50 man groups. If you are a part of a large guild we always assume the large guild is somewhere nearby, engaging in a duel with that person doesn’t make sense.

I rep SXY when im roaming or Yo lo, so thats a terribad excuse. Although sometimes that’s not the case if i forget to change tags. But it doesnt matter what tag is run most encounters are me chasing ppl like benny hill sketches its just sad.

The problem with thieves is a good one never dies, no matter how many opponents. They might not kill you, but you can never actually win just make them run off to try again. That’s a little OP imo.

Ya, have to say some nice fights out there last night. After only I transferred to BP two days ago from DR I had the great pleasure to lead a small man group comprised of Soul/Krew gents last night. Fun times and a shout out to the Mesmer/Elm team we fought a couple times last night (sorry I didn’t remember your guild tag) and to the Abyss guild to name a few. Great fun and see you out there.

BF is still a really strong skill. Just learn how to deal with Retaliation (like every other profession and a lot of Mesmer players) and you are ready to win again.

It’s really not that big of a deal.

This. I can’t really figure out why everyone is so depressed about Blurred Frenzy. Instead of having complete invulnerability, now it’s just near complete invulnerability. Really, retaliation? Just means you have to pay more attention now. Necros using Fear? Again, just have to pay more attention.

Basically, it seems like Blurred Frenzy is still really powerful but you can’t just mindless pop it in every situation and expect things to insta-die.

It’s not about being mindless, any good guardian or class for that matter that has AoE ret will turn it on while you are doing it.

I would just like to preface this by saying ive been playing Mesmer since day 1, and through all the nerfs (like every patch) ive been resilient and found different builds that worked for me. My latest build utilized sword/torch scepter/pistol (traited for combo finisher x8 super awesome) with prismatic and all the stealth skills for solo/small team fighting. 0/30/30/0/10. After the patch 3 significant things occured for my build that has me questioning what to do next. I’m trying to stay positive and look for alternatives. The 3 major changes that burned me were the:

1- scepter block skill. I utilized this block for great burst on thieves or Rtl Ele or hell just about anything. With my set up it would crit 3.5k-6k direct burst from melee range, putting pressure immediately on thieves etc. Now im lucky for a 2k crit and some (relatively) low dmg condition that usually gets cleansed by anyone compitent.

2- 5 trait in illusion switched to 25. Cooldowns suddenly on decoy 32->40. Doesnt seem like alot but when you fight 1v3 or 2v5 those 8 seconds matter alot.

3- Blurred frenzy timer upped a few seconds but WORST of all is the change to evade. I’ve hit myself now for nearly 9k on a few occassions from retaliation. My typical combat scenario is to get enemies grouped up (gaurd skill pulls) another guard traps with hammer 5, and then i blink in, prestige, blurred frenzy, prestige fires blast finisher. Before, i would be invuln but now it seems everyone and their best friend has ret up and it really, really sucks. Not to mention the 500 new necros with “unblockable” marks, that i can suddenly be feared now.

I dont mean to complain but i love my build, but for my group its a pain and im trying to find something that fits that i also enjoy to play.

TLDR: Retaliation now really sucks bc of MH sword change. Looking for alternative builds to fit my group or solo roam.

Good fights last night, both duels in SFBL and on the open field. This match-up has made a turn for the better.

Also, how much support would an organised fight club have in this tier? We had one with DR in the match-up, but haven’t seen anything official organised since.

You can’t really get mad about 10-15 people capping the breakout tower, you guys have been on our BL capping breakout towers and other multiple times, it happens, its WvW. Also a lot of people just look for a fight, you should be happy that we think you guys are better than Zoomhaven/Zerghaven

I peed a little laughing so hard at this….It must be lonely on DH being an elitist roamer on the zergiest server of the lower tiers…..I have seen nothing on DH but: 30+ man zergs, glassy’s, upscales, and some decent guild groups.

All of those (minus the guild groups), are pretty clear indicator’s of a zergling server, so I would say: don’t throw stones from your glass house sir (of which I would indeed likely find glass cannons on all of your mantles).

? i cant help it if DH has zerglings, nor do i care. I’m looking for quality fights and all im saying is that since DR left there is a huge vacuum of good players looking for the same. I have yet to see any good small groups on ioj, so just because we happen to have more zerglings doesnt mean your server is not comprised of “mostly zerglings”. Prove me wrong and field a team that doesnt suck.

That’s funny, last night holding off 50+ (yes 50, because you had enough to mitigate damage to your siege from our arrowcarts) in our area in EB with 3-10 people at a time would’ve said otherwise :P.

It was rather funny to watch how easily the huge DH zerg could be deterred with a single AC or Ballista countering the normal siege areas. DH calling anyone out on ‘zerglings’ is lulz at it’s finest.

Uh, i think you don’t understand where im coming from my friend. I dont care about 50 man this or that. I’m talking about me roaming solo or duo and crush 4-5 of your guys, then escaping the eventual convenient zerg that comes to the rescue. The only people that are remotely challenging now are the (KING) guys from SF, and only a few of those guys give me trouble. Cheers! And GL earning that silver medal in T6. ^.^

What an evening! Some great battles out there for the two towers that straddle the bridge in SF BL. Im pretty sure im going to spec out of Signets and into Arrow Cart…because that AC is awesomesauce with a couple points into it!

Also. wanted to throw a Big Shout out to Mr. & Misses Swindler for letting me tag along a bit last night. Ive never seen players be able to last so long standing in the middle of a zerg. It made me feel like an Asura Don Johnson! All up in the action!…without the white leisure suit and all…

It’s true through, we are really all roamers at heart, especially those of us that have been around SF since launch. Roamers were required when we got bumped down to t8 originally. We are just so used to pushing points so hard to get finally get into a tier where we are well-matched that we are realizing we can finally take a breather and enjoy where we are now. You’ll probably see quite a bit more roamers as we settle in.

Awesome! I know I, and a few others (GRIM/PD) will appreciate the good, small scale fighting.

I’m a SF roamer…although people tend to start following me after a bit.

I had a nice duel with 7 mirror from KING guild in IOJBL earlier, it was fun but ended in a draw due to IOJ guys interferring. Was the first really tough SF ive fought. Looking forward to more fun and challenging fights from other SF roamers/groups so far its mostly been zerg dodging and picking off stragglers.
