When I polled it it was at 147g14s75c

A gem card is a card you can buy on amazon or some random games shop which holds a key for usually 2000 gems. Your friend can just enter that code and get the gems.
Also I think you can gift buy gems directly, though not sure if I don’t mix something up here.

Just make up a sentence you can easily remember… like “this is commander shepards favorite password on the citadel” or such nonesense. Super easy to remember without writing it down and a lot more secure.

I have a password that I have evolved massively over the years, and I have several different variations of at ATM.
For me it IS super easy to remember, while still being very secure.
I was unable to use ANY of my variations here, so I had to create yet ANOTHER one…
There are some times when security really just crosses the line to where it just isn’t at all convenient anymore, and just creates extra difficulties.

You’re saying it yourself: you are already using variations of it. Thus it’s not secure.

Will Bolts of Damask ever drop in price?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: MegumiAzusa.2918

MegumiAzusa.2918

I don’t get why people are all hung on on needing 100 bolts of silk instead of 50 while ignoring that wool and linen is even more expensive while they are in line with their metal and leather counterparts.
The reason is the amount of cloth you need compared to leather, wood, and metal. You basically need only leather for leather armor, and one or two for any other armor set and weapon. There is just next to no demand (and thus next to no production incentive which keeps the TP price relatively stable). The same goes for wood, in even a bigger extend as it’s only used for weapons. There is an absurd 4:1 in there which also lets the prices be relatively stable as again there’s just so little incentive to get that wood, craft, and sell it. Metal you only need for heavy armor and most weapons, still if someone equips a char they usually don’t craft all weapons but just the ones they commonly use (1 or 2), which means the demand is still relativly low. In comparison to all that cloth is used in every for of armor and 3 per insignia.
People want to have all 6 parts of their armor, which means 18 damask for insignias alone. The lowest amount for a full set of armor (24 for medium armor) is still 6 higher than the highest amount of any other material (18 leather for medium armor).

You posted a pic of an adult female human.

You, good sir, have an … interesting image in mind of what you consider teen and want to play in this game.

As a real life human female, I’m sure you an attest that no teenager looks like what you posted, ever. Even in the movies.

I mean, what if I wanted to make an in game Harry Potter guild, and have the characters look like they’re from book 1 or 2? Right now, what I have is a bunch of adults cosplaying as an older looking wizard from book 5.

Acceptable Breaks from Reality. A lot of the armors accentuate the female’s… curves, so the bust size just isn’t going to be adjusted down that far. You’ll just have to pretend your character is younger if you want that, or avoid that section of history, or… y’know, roleplay offline using your imagination.

MegumiAzusa.2918

Yup, those software are just fine, you can safely use them.
They don’t “inject” anything, you just place files in the same folder of GW2’s files, but the client’s files remains intact.
Of course that ANet won’t say it is ok since they can’t legally support it, but they have nothing against it.

It actually does inject stuff. It uses windows code to load it’s own d3d dll files instead of the original ones (programs look first in the current folder for dll files, then if not found they look in system32/syswow64/system etc… the system is designed so different libraries can have the same name so there is no collision). The code loaded can basically be anything.
ANets point is they cannot say it’s okay to use a certain program because if at some point, even if per accident, this program has (un)intended side effects they would have to ban users because of a breach of the EULA.

MegumiAzusa.2918

From my experience getting my dailies this morning, Dragon Ball is basically a test of “which team can stay together and focus fire an oppenent the fastest/best.”

To the person above me implying it’s about your name? I really don’t think it is. In every game I play people are calling targets on someone and then chasing them like wild dogs.

So far the only thing that seems to make a difference is who can get, keep, and use that reflect shield first/the best. I’ve seen/been in so many 3v1s that went to the “1” because of that shield.

3v1 and they loose to the whirl thing? Well it’s their fault then that they don’t stop for a second and eat all the reflects. L2P is all one can say to that.

Hahaha! I hear you there. All though I’m starting to see people catch on. Had this one guy in a match just a little bit ago who kept using the kick to stun me everytime I threw down the shield. That was some good counter play (he couldn’t attack me, but I couldn’t attack him).

The whirl has a pretty long cast time, if he’d been really good he would have rupted you casting it :P

25% chance on scraps, 2% chance on tickets, it’s that way since scraps were introduced but with some exceptions when drop rates were increased. It means about every 25 chests you get a ticket. Which means 2100 gems if you purchase 25 keys in bulk. As it’s random the number of chests varies.

Archon you really should be picking up the powerups, especially the one that upgrade your auto to be much faster and therefore harder to dodge. A single player with upgrades can potentially take out 2 unupgraded players.

A single good player with no upgrades can troll 2 upgraded people easily for the team to pick them up. Just make use of terrain and heals.

Ah, I’ve just been looking at spots where I can 2v1 people and getting away with that. The teams I’ve played with, we generally stick together and kill loners.

Though funny enough the projectiles are so slow, that you can simply outstrafe people and win as such. Of course don’t do anything silly like solo 3 people.

Though to just outsrafe projectiles you need a really good connection to the server, usually the shots hit you even if they would hit outside of your field of view because of all the lag.

I think the problem is that it that it seems better to let people come at you and hide until you have a decisive advantage; should put something in the middle to fight for.

No, best strategy is at least a little team play. Try to stick to at least one other player. Don’t forget the health powerups in the middle, and learn the skills.
A single player is an easy pickup, a usually means death if you’re suddenly alone.

Top advice for this and all other team based activities.

Yes, it is more LIKELY you will get 2000 after 10,000 rolls than a single roll, but the number of rolls has NO bearing on the actual odds of each roll.

This is the basic concept of RNG that most players just do not grasp.

I wouldn’t say people don’t grasp the concept of the RNG, it’s just that it’s hard not to grouse about how inherently unfair the RNG is when rewarding time and effort (that is to say it doesn’t).

People not being able to grasp this concept is more common than you might think. Just look up Monte Carlo fallacy.

If you roll 100 – 20 sided die, what are the odds you will roll a 2000?

If you think the odds are better after the 10,000 roll than the first roll, I have found your problem with this entire thread.

Yes, it is more LIKELY you will get 2000 after 10,000 rolls than a single roll, but the number of rolls has NO bearing on the actual odds of each roll.

Spot on. Odds have no memory. It’s like flipping a coin. You have 50% chance heads, 50% chance tails. If you’ve flipped tails 6 or 7 times already, you still have 50% Chance of each with your next flip.

It’s like the one Asura in Rata Sum who gets asked what the winner of the Snaff Prize next year is going to be.
The conversation is:
-“New and improved golem designs?”
-“You make the same prediction every year.”
-“Perhaps, but the odds of being correct are continuing to improve.”
I always have to facepalm when I’m at the weaponsmithing station, something like this coming from an Asura.

The biggest problem of healing power is that it’s additive, not multiplicative, and most skills even have an additional scalar of <1 for healing power so that 100 more healing power result in maybe 50 additional healing which makes it a total waste.
I created this list a long time ago (maybe a month after the newer healing skills like AED came out) so it might not be completely accurate right now but it shows base heal and the healing power scalar.
http://1drv.ms/191Afbz
And as one can see even if everything on healing power most stuff doesn’t even get a 25% increase in effectivity.
