I think it is time to update the text of the achievement, I regularily get asked wether the pvp and wvw legendary armors count towards this title or not. Something that could easily be avoided by updating the text.
He didnt say that there currently ARE people with 40.000+ AP
He just said that he has seen people with 40.000+ APAnd that is very well possible since the salvage acheivement used to have no cap and some wealthy players abused it to get insane amounts of AP from it back then
Not sure if someone reached 40.000 back then but i have seen a screenshot fo 34.000 so maybe someone with even more money & dedication reached 40.000 AP ^^That also doesn’t seem likely. No one in the game has ever reached 40k AP.
And, as we already said above, there are people who have over 35k AP right now, so, of course you’ve seen people with 34k or more. :p
I wrote i have seen a screenshot of someone with 34.000 AP back then
I know for sure that i was possible and has happenedBut ofc this doesnt really help with the problem of reachign 39.000 AP since its a thing of the past and already fixed.
But on topic: I think it is good to have some true long term goals and like people mentioned we already have people at 35k ap and PoF coming up so it wont take too long until the first players get it probablyBad enough that Anet completely ruined the PvP rank long term goals by making the previous rank 80 to rank 55 even though players already were at rank 72
That was one of the worst decisions of anet ever in my opinion…So at least AP long term goals should stay as they are
Doubtful that anyone will reach 39k AP by PoF. Someone did the math a while ago that HoT added about 1700 AP, including doing all the legendary precursor stuff. So I would be suprised if PoF + LS4 would give 4k AP. Anet has the strange tedency to give less AP over time and difficulty vs AP reward usually do not correlate in any way.
At minimum we will wait for the expansion after PoF before anyone reaches 39k. And at that point who will want to use them? Plenty of the ascended or legendary backpacks look more impressive.
At bare minimum Anet should give these items a makeover and make them truly legendary (perhaps even a notch better quality) quality, after all it is the most difficult and time consuming objective in the game.

Do you want Cobalt? Cause this is how you get Cobalt. And burned retinas.
Sounds more like an issue with your monitor if cobalt burns your retina.
For sure.
So it turns grey snow to white as snow should be? Outrageous

Good thing LCD monitors are not bright enough and do not emit UV light, so eye damage will not happen.

Good change, 120 seconds was too long. Even 90 seconds is too long in a close match
A few people get to play monthlies again…who cares?!?!? It is actually a disadvantage to their lives to be allowed to play this game because it isn’t a productive investment of time. They could be getting top grades or working their way up to get a good job but instead they are putting another year after another year into a dead game. The joke is on them. They are punishing themselves. That 2k hours a year they spend on gw2 duelling 1v1 on mine could be invested into something productive.
Guess what, everything you do in live is ultimately a waste of time. So might as well spend it on a game. Everything will die, cool down and the universe will be forever dead.
lol no its not dude. Playing a dead game for serious business is a waste of time. There are tons of things in life that help you achieve things. Your attitude sounds poor to me. Always try to be productive and to advance your life. That is what it is all about, that isnt a waste of time at all.
No point in “advancing” anything if you dont enjoy it. You cannot take anything with you into your grave, same for your potential children.
You have to kill them without dieing/downing and you must be alone in the instance
go play on deso, i want to kill some anet devs

The insect slayer achievement is broken, tried to kill various insects in different locations listed in the wiki. None of them is advancing the insect slayer achievement.

So I just thought about Warbringer and how nice it would be if it would act as a light source similar to the Halloween backpiece from 2012. Considering the flames from it are far larger than any torch it would make sense. What do you guys think?
Or he was just making things up because that issue was fixed before the game even turned 1 year old
Sadly not seeing this any time soon. At the current rate even the top 10 achievers will need at least 3 more expansions to get there.
For people like me who missed Season 1 it probably means never.
Luckily I recently crafted Warbringer and it looks superior to this
Try the desert borderlands one it’s easier.
Desert borderland seems harder to me, gave up on that after an hour of trying. The alpine was I was able to cheese with dragonhunter F2. Too bad you need the cats from both maps if you want them to fight in your home instance.
Not all of them were dishonored. The original post didn’t say they couldn’t buy new accounts and play.
They did not dishonor the accounts, but the players. Why else would they put dishonor on not involved alt accounts?
Considering how cheap accounts are, these kind of punishments should always be per player and not per account, just as the ANet dev posts prior to the reddit post suggest.
Even if people without dishonor took part in the team, they all should loose their rewards because they knowingly teamed up with people who have dishonor. Everything else would be a spit in the face to the pvp community.
Just because noone is forcing me to do that, it does not change the fact that it is poorly implemented. The whole stuff is just trial and error until the last jump finnally works (the jumps before are trivial) and locating the thing is close to impossible without a guide since the entrances are obfuscated by the environment and only reached by a pixel perfect jump.
Does anyone else think the catmander stuff is poorly implemented? You either need a mesmer portal or be able to close to pixel perfect jumps to reach those cats. To make the matter worse each time you fail the jump you are spending roughly a minute to get into position to try again and if you fail miserably you can even die, multiplying the time to get back by 3 since its unlikely to see anyone else around who can rezz you. (Even ignoring the fact that it is a pvp area where other players can potentially kill you)
All to unlock fluff for your home instance noone else is going to see.
I think requiring these pixel perfect jumps into places you cannot see and figure them out by trial and error is much worse problem than the high resource price (gift of battle) to unlock these cats. It is basically 100% frustration and 0% fun to get there.
Plus without the dulfy guides 99,99% of the playerbase would not even find these locations at all, which is a problem in itself.
This does not make any sense. I thought their mains and alt accounts were dishonored and banned from all future seasons
Sad to hear that so many important GW2 projects are being done by devs in their free time instead of regular working hours. Seems like unhealthy company ethics.
My mini toy golem looks totally bugged for a few weeks now. See the screenshot for detail.
I was not around in Season 1.
I think these gemshore gambling packs are horrible. Putting ancient nostalgia items in there is even worse. If you want to make them available to players again, combine it with thematically fitting content. In the current implementation people literally lost thousands upon thousands of gold of account value just for Anet to make some quick bucks. It is distasteful and spitting in the face of any veteran who earned them back then or spent a real big amount of gold on these items to buy them on the trading post.
Personally I know someone who bought Scarlets Rainbow and Kiss from the trading post not long ago in preparation to the new thief elite spec. Guess what he wasted over 1000g. I can only imagine his anger at Anets greed for more dollars.
It seems some of these items are even cheaper to buy now than when they were aquired by playing the game (adjusted for 4 years of inflation). Just does not seem right.
Example Jetpack: http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/42406
It costed about 100g when it was a drop in 2013. 100g then is probably worth 500g+ now.

Let’s hope you are right
I have noticed for a while now that the lava patches in the “boss room” of the volcanicn fractal are no longer switching on and off anymore. They stay deactivated the whole fight. Is this intended or did the mechanic break by some patch?
Yes, standard models usually disable everything, everyone turns into a human with specific armor and weapon skins. Infusions are disabled, so I guess they simply did not account for legendary trinkets when building this system.
They should find a solution for gift of maguuma. If they all need that gift you would need 16 character slots to be able to build all those legendaries. Sure you could delete characters, but getting them to lvl 80, doing the map completion and then deleting it seems like such a waste.
Yes…he stood there and did nothing with zerker amulet on, while you had zerker and had other people give you max stacks of might and then he stood there while you built up max malice.
In other words a scenario that will NEVER happen in real PvP. Why didn’t you just do this set up on a war w/ thousand blades, it would have hit way harder than 100k.
If it does 107k with all those buffs it will still do insane damage without. You realize players only have 11 to maybe 25k hp if a tanky build?
I agree, its a terrible idea to force people to take part in beta testing this on the live environment
You wanted to complete reward tracks? Good for you. Everyone else wanted to test elite specs.
they they should do it without ruining the normal game play. I do not want to be affected by elite specs still in obvious pre-beta status.
This kind of testing should not be done in a live environment, especially not in places where you can win or loose (=pvp/wvw). I tested WvW also, it is “ruined” also.
(edited by Mel.3064)
Sadly its still not fixed
Bro it should be free mmr
No season going on, no reason to care about MMR
Also one of the new firebrand skills gfx (no idea which one it is) makes me feel nauseous. Anet should have a look at those firebrand skill gfx and potentially tune them down.
Is it really such big deal to test with everyone for 3 days in unranked???
Really?I am glad to have it like this and see what we can expect.
Yes it is a big deal, I wanted to dedicate this weekend to pvp since I need to get some reward tracks done. But now I guess I can scrap this plan.
Enabling the new elite specs outside of hotjoin games is a terrible idea, everyone seems to be just doing random chaos to try out the new specs instead of trying hard to win.
Thanks for making pvp unplayable due the elite spec beta test. Everywhere there are these new OP skills and people who have zero clue about pvp just testing the skills.
Why not make a seperate queue for the elite specs or better open up a real testserver instead of this nonsense.
Just saw that the source code got published and linked on the BGDM blogpage. Maybe someone will pick it up and make a new ToS compliant version of it. We can only hope.
“hard and fun”
To often i get the impression that players who consider hard content to be fun, fail to understand that not everyone considers hard content fun.
Noone asked open world content to be super hard. But if you use some of the worst builds possible it should at least be challenging.
One of the big mistakes they made with HoT was listening to the beta players complaining about how easy the mobs were and thus buffing them all for the release. Beta players are a minority and tend to be from the harder-core end of the player spectrum. Open-world needs to cater mostly for average players: no elite spec, probably a mix of exotic and ascended armour, less than optimum build etc.
It was the opposite, HoT was harder in beta and was nerfed for release and nerfed again at a later time.
As I said i used the build you get straight out character creation, did not change a thing. And frankly the build is so horrible that it would get you kicked from any fractal or dungeon group. If its that easy with terrible build, what am I supposed to do there with my fully optimised characters?
The size is what makes it great. If you dont like the size use one of its 5 precursor tiers.
Where the mobs in the PoF beta undertuned for the demo? Most of them felt completly boring to fight even if you used those terrible builds with no elite spec and non optimal gear you gained from character creation. I can only imagine how easy they would have been if I would have taken the time to optimse build and gear.
It is especially disappointing for enemies like the veteran hydra which were much stronger in GW1.
Overall mobs felt too easy. I hope they were just “undertuned” to help people play the beta with those terrible out of character creation builds. If it stays like this it would definitely be a step back from HoT where mobs at least had a bit of challenge. Feels unepic if you can just facetank monsters several times larger than a max sized Charr or Norn (eg Hydra)
After playing the beta I had 1 AP more on my regular characters than before. So there seems to be something leaking over from the demo to the live characters. I earned at least 10 AP on the beta char, so it does not affect every achievement.
A friend noticed the same, so possibly everyone affected.

Apparently Threadripper even has a feature to disable half its cores (gaming mode) to reach higher performance. More evidience that this architecture is not really meant for gaming.
Looking to upgrade to a…
“AMD RYZEN Threadripper 1920X 12-Core/24 Threads 3.5 GHz Socket sTR4 180W YD192XA8AEWOF Desktop Processor”
Will Guild Wars 2 Take advantage of all Core/Threads?
I’m using a 5820k , 6 cores / 12 threads . Guild Wars 2 uses all 12 threads. It will scale to use all cores .
Dont trust the taskmanager. Windows keeps moving threads from core to core all the time to get optimal load balance.
Lol. people doing anything for more followers/publicity. Shame on them.
Both videos not even doing it on their main accounts, so clearly just a publicity stunt.
No, it will not take advantage of more than 4 cores.
You will be way better of buying a 7700k or the upcoming 8700k from Intel and overclocking it to 4,8Ghz+ if you want maximum fps.
Or if you want AMD get a R7-1700 and overclock it to about 4Ghz. More would be a waste if gaming is all you do.
The chance of me doing this is 0%, well maybe if you paid me 100g per LI.
Rigom had a long invuln before the patch. The patch did nothing except remove it, but the consequences of it is that conditions from one burn phase will carry on to the next. This is why he looses health so fast, and why he almost instant die for each 66/33 phase.
What they could have done is to give him a condi cleanse each time he get back to full health. He could also use some more base health.
That sounds like you are right. Hopefully they implement that condi cleanse to make this phase interesting again.
