I like sparkles and I’m wvw-focused. 5-6 days of the week. I’d pay for some sparkles, but I’d pay for them in wvw. Just yesterday the guildies that spent 3 hours farming 20g ended up turning around and spending it on the custom finishers (and this was us being cheap because PvE earns you obscene amounts of gold. We’d have shelled out real money if it weren’t so easy to dungeon). If they want sparkles, they are more than capable of implementing them in wvw. And I think a lot of wvw-ers would pay for them.

Tonight, 5 people from my wvw guild went to pve for 2-3 hours and I made 20+ gold. Last night, we were in wvw and I made 5 gold in 6 hours. Money is still made, but not at the same rate. I think that has been established.

However, there is nothing in this game that is ESSENTIAL that is impossible to get on a wvw “salary.” All you get more money for is to buy skins, which is a non-essential part of the game. I’ll be honest, it is the only reason I PvE and I would love to be able to get some of the skins and whatnot that I want in WvW, but that seems unlikely. However, that is mostly my problem for being so intent on being the most fabulous pink fairy mesmer available.

However, with the impending implementation of ascended gear into the game, unless it’s done well, I will be left out to dry. I have 4 sets of armor on my mesmer with the intention of getting a 5th (because I change up my builds a lot), but if I am going to have to grind in pve (and heaven forbid fractals) to get a replacement for these 4(+) sets, I’m going to be incredibly annoyed. I’m still getting the commendations and laurels needed for ascended accessories on my ele and necro (the only two alts I will be giving ascended) and then there’s the whole issue of my ascended rabid trinkets on my mesmer, even though the situation may call for pvt. I know that ascended is not NECESSARY to competitive wvw play, but it is helpful. And farming in pve for the sets of gear I want is upsetting. My fear is that the ascended gear will actually force us to play one character in one set of armor (eg: a restricted number of builds effectively played) and therefore I cannot play the way that I want. I can still play, but if I die in a fight, I want to know that I died because we were both on equal footing and the other guy beat me, not wondering if the reason I lost is because they ran ascended armor and I can only get ascended trinkets because that’s all that’s easily available to a casual PvE-er…

Even though all of my guildies hate me for the idea, I would also love to see an entirely underwater map/keep. preferably a whole map. Of course, that means creating siege that can be used underwater, but that’s something which we needed in the first place.

And in terms of how one would implement a system of maps: aside from the more obvious random assignment for each server or team color, it could also be possible to continue to leave all borderlands the same across the matchup, but randomizing the borderland in the same way that you would randomize the server matchup. Eg: tier 1 group draws X Maps and tier 2 draws Y. That way, ideally, even if you were to face the same servers twice in relative succession, the element of random map assignment could add some interest to the matchup. That way, you could also remove the possibility that one server could be in any way disadvantaged. All borderlands would be the same, so everyone has the same advantage or disadvantage.

Also, EBG could operate with the same system: one week, it’s X type of map while another week it is Y (hopefully at one point underwater).

Leery, your roses offend me and you should be banned because of them. I’m with Drak on this one. I want that drama.

Announce that the server cap will not increase (maybe even that they will decrease by whatever amount) and offer free transfers to bottom tiers from top tiers. Convince top tier transfers that it’s not a good idea to have a bandwagon. As much as Ebay has a slight need for night crew, I don’t think we ever get a queue for all borderlands anymore, which is nice if our guilds want to do raids. Longest queue I’ve had in the last month is maybe 15 minutes. I don’t know how you guys stand queues of more than 20 minutes.

I’m sure everyone’s familiar with it, but there’s a wall which is invisible/ineffective at hills. Staff guardians can attack through it and as I learned today, you can apparently use an arrow cart through it. I can’t see any threads about the issue, though, so I figured I would make one, just in case Anet doesn’t know about it. And if they do know about it, why is it still possible? It’s not like our little group was going to hold hills for very long with CD’s numbers, but this has been going on for weeks now and it’s still possible…

Tons of us run solo, and I know a few of your players can confirm it, whether they check this forum to do so, is something else. BP has also had a few 2v2/3v3 bouts versus us. Lol.

I can attest to Hellsing’s attempts to run solo. I’ve stomped him 3 times this week, I think. He just doesn’t want to admit to being stomped by a bright pink fairy from his old guild. <3

The game allows me to log in, albeit slowly, and then after about a minute of being in game, it disconnects and says there is a connection error. Please retry in a few minutes. I don’t know if this is the same issue, but it began on Monday/late Sunday and acts up every once in a while. Been a little over 2 hours of it now.
