While I’d like to see more people in the open world, I think it’s debatable if the game needs yet another currency. If I’ve understood your idea correctly they already have the tools to achieve this with the daily/laurels system. I share your goals though.
These are really stylish and nice. Thanks for sharing.
This kind of counting won’t actually tell you much about drop-rates etc. it that’s your intention. Still fun to know I suppose.
Anyway, I got two from about 30 farmed crates. Made a sceptre & dagger set for my necro. I wanted the skins and was happy to get them. I hope those still looking get theirs too.
The condition is not removed by the necromacer healing skill “consume conditions” either.
I think the OP makes a good point. People do seem to complain a lot, and in a fairly abrasive tone. If we want our wishes for the game to be realized, we also need to keep in mind that there are actual people on the recieving end of our complaints. People who are proud of their work and the world they have created. They too know that there is room for improvement, but no-one wants to engage with 20 rude and angry people on an issue they may want to comment on.
I know there are a lot of issues that should be resolved, and that it’s easy to get impatient (sometimes rightfully so). But being angry, rude and abrasive is not the most constructive way to deal with other people.
That being said, I usually follow the forums of games I play and they’re all like this. Battlefield, Saints Row, even Minecraft sometimes.
I think it’s a bug. It happened to me a couple of times, and it lasted two or three events in a row then went away. Don’t know why.
I agree that staves don’t have much visual impact in-game. It’s a bit surprising, since they’re fairly large weapons.
When I finally managed to make my corrupted brach staff I was expecting some impressive, swirly icefog effects. Instead it glows a bit on the top. At least I think so. It’s hard to tell.
Well made video. Thanks. I have a different build, but the advice can easily be adapted for different skills. This is useful information for those of us who have yet to play much WvW. Made me want to try it.
Happened to me too. Saw my first minion and thought “Urgh, not going to be a minion master” Cool drawing.
Cool looking evil Charr. Very nice.
I’d very much appreciate a drawing of my Necromancer if you can spare the time.
This sub-forum is brilliant! So many creative people sharing their talent.

What armor is that??
I think it’s honed magician pants, human cultural T1 coat and winged boots, but I’m not 100% sure. It certainly is a different look.
I seem to recall Anet stating that they weren’t happy with the way magic find was currently implemented – i.e. being a “selfish” stat which damages your group utility when you run dungeons etc. Can’t remember the source, so take it or leave it. Anyway, maybe this is a test run for future changes?
I’m enjoying it a lot too. While I haven’t been able to complete the jumping puzzle or win at crab toss, I like that there are so many fun events and things to do.
I feel rewarded for doing stuff and not punished with DR for staying on the map (don’t know if this is true, but DR seems much less of a problem here). And for someone residing on a medium populated server, all the people showing up for this is the best treat of all.
With that amount I think most people would buy ascended gear. I like changing builds so I just got the amulet which gives you a little bit of everything (the szygy or something similar). I think people who go to the Fractals dungeons don’t invest in ascended rings, because you can get them there.
Maybe the problem is I the well.
It changes a condition into a boon, if there isn’t a boon tied to that condition I don’t know what the well will do. If it just remove the condition or nothing happens.
But it’s not removed with consume conditions either. Kind of annoying.
Been experimenting with corrupt boon and well of corruption on the instigators as well, and they don’t seem to be doing much. But that’s probably me not noticing it, what with all the conditions coming and going. Well of darkness seems much more effective.
Actually, Southsun Cove has taught me that magic find does indeed work. I don’t run any magic find gear normally, and I’ve got more rares and exotics in these past days than I can ever remember. It’s quite dramatic in my experience. Got two exotic drops in two days, compared to three in 500 hours previously.
I got one off a veteran hermit crab in about 30 minutes of play with minimal magic find. Nothing special in it though, just crafting materials. Still fun to get.
Visiting this thread is always a treat. I’m impressed by how you try out new things, and how well your work resembles the in-game characters while still maintaining the overall style of the painting.
Loving the flint lock pistol with silencer. Very cool!
I don’t watch many videos of gameplay, but I found these very enjoyable. Hope you guys continue the series.
That’s really nice and original. I like it a lot.
Poor guy. Hope he finds help soon!
Well, some of us just aren’t that good at this game. Personally I get by pretty well in general PvE, but I find it hard to have the situational awareness over time which dungeons seem to need. It’s not that I don’t try my best or that I don’t care, I’m simply not that great a player. So I avoid the hardest content because I fear I’m not pulling my own weight. That’s not a fun feeling.
Don’t mind others getting more difficult content if they want it, but I admit I do wish more people were doing regular events in the open world instead. It would make the world more alive. Still, I see the need for challenging content for the really great players.
That’s cool. I’m guessing you paint on the glass, or is it etching? Nice detailing on the dragon.
Lots of great combos here. This is my necro. A bit colourful for a necro I suppose, but it makes more sense when you see the wooden dagger skin equipped.
The mask is necro starter mask demon, coat is honed acolyte and the rest is cultural T3. Colours are antique gold, grass, celestial and hydrangea.
Second one is cool, but I have to say I absolutely love the first video. So cute you just want to hug him
These are really good. Hard to believe you’re self-taught! Thank you so much for sharing.
This is very cool. Power to the Moletariate!
Final Rest! Congrats!
Very nice. I enjoyed visiting your tumblr too. Some good stuff there.
Well worth the watch. Great use of cool in-game animations. I’ll be paying more attention to those when playing now. Thanks for sharing
Such a nice picture! Lots of personality to it. The amount of talent in this sub-forum never ceases to amaze me.
Here’s my necromancer, Purgatorietta. A picture of her would make me very happy. Hope she inspires you.
EU server Whiteside Ridge. Can’t log in. Error code: 42:0:9001:4105
That’s very nice. Looks a bit more inviting than Orr, but you’ve captured the landscape nicely. If it were larger it would make for a beautiful computer wallpaper. Thanks for sharing it.
I enjoyed these a lot Thanks for sharing.
Sort of a diary? I have to say that’s a really cool idea. I love the world too. The beauty and feel of it, as well as my character is what keeps me in the game these days. Thanks for sharing your work with the rest of us.
This is very well made and the writing is excellent. You must have put a fantastic amount of work into this, but what is The Book of Awakening? Should I know already? I feel lore-challenged now
Very good indeed. The colour shades you’ve used gives it a unique look I think. Nice to see recognizable armour too. Hope you post some more.
Nice job. She’s very pretty – T3 cultural armour and all. You have a lucky friend.
It would be nice if we could transmutate basic to fine in the mystic forge since I honestly don’t think people actually use them.
This is a very good idea.
Brilliant! Made me laugh. I don’t like him either. Always upstaging my character while she does all the hard work.
They should upgrade them IMO. Corrupted weapons for example, need lots of lodestones thus requiring a large commitment to make. I’ve only recived 5 fine transmutation stones in 600 hrs of game time, so cash shop is the only option if I want to keep using the skin on ascended.
I think you’ve managed the style very well already. Good job!
I tried to use a macro for roleplaying purposes. I made a macro to say “I command death” in local chat, which I used when reviving people. Seemed fitting for a necro. After using it about three times (with a few minutes between each time), I got the message that I was timed out from using chat because I was spamming it. So there’s some kind of system there to stop you. I just deleted the macro after that.
She’s cute. And the background looks so lush. Very nice.
Thank you for sharing. Zznaf is cool looking and with personality. Well done.
As an owner of this staff I have to agree. There really is nothing spectacular about it’s looks. Considering the commitment it takes to create it, it deserves some more glowy goodness.
It’s very good indeed. And thanks for posting the video of the process. Since I can’t create anything like this myself it’s fun to see how it’s done. What amazes me in videos like this is that you don’t seem to make any errors at all, it’s just fast and accurate.
I like it. It’s a different style to a lot of other artists work on this forum. I wouldn’t like to bump into that thief in a dark alley!
In 600 hours of playing open world with 100% map complete I’ve had two exotics drop from enemies. Both came within minutes of each other on the day of the mid November patch. “Hey, this patch is great” I thought. Now, not so much…
