Agree. Really good work. That image seems to be bursting with action.
Seems to me that Colin Johanson’s latest statement strengthens the theory that this issue is due to a DR bug? Maybe I’m wrong, since I don’t know much about how games function on that level.
Anyway, not looking forward to another lengthy wait, just hoping they will at least acknowledge there is an issue. A bit disillusioned now tbh.
Very nice. Styx is happy, although he needs a dentist after all that candy corn
Thanks for sharing your work.
I like it! Is that a legendary sword she’s weilding there?
Orr is really fun after this patch. No longer annoying. They changed it just right – not too little and not too much. Love the new size of the abominations too. They’re huge!
After playing a few hours it’s my clear impression that the 28.01.13 patch has changed nothing with regards to this issue. While I’m very pleased with other elements of this patch, it’s unfortunate that this issue remains unsolved.
Wow. This is fantastic. Must have taken you ages! Thanks for sharing.
I agree. I usually find videos a waste of time, but this one was entertaining and well made. Good job. Also, there’s just something awesome about Asura engineers!
I really like these. They’re kind of different in style, but both are very good. Love the sky in the second one. Cool Van Gogh thing going on.
These are very good indeed. I especially love the Asura one. When I meet Asura in-game I just want to cuddle them, but you managed to make yours scary-looking!
Thanks for sharing these nice drawings. It’s a good thing you picked up your tablet again!
I’ve posted on a few things I wish were looked at, but I’ll gladly join in an appreciation thread too. It’s an amazing game, and you can see it’s been made with genuine dedication and love.
I can understand a lot of you are getting frustrated but you have to realize that not everyone is affected by these bad drops. It seems some people have DR stuck on their accounts, I have no proof that this is the reason, but it seems like a possibility. Since not everyone is affected, it may be hard for anet to find the problem.
Personally I won’t be upset if I’m told this is hard to fix and will take some time, but I wish I knew if Anet thinks there actually is a problem. If they do, it’s much easier to be patient because you know they’ll fix it in the end. Right now I don’t even know if they acknowledge that there’s a problem at all.
Btw, thanks for posting and taking an interest in this. If you’re not affected yourself, I think that’s pretty cool of you.
That’s nice. Thank you for sharing.
I must admit I’m getting impatient too. I thought possible problems in such a critical aspect of the game would be dealt with swiftly.
These are very nice indeed. Your character looks fantastic in that armour.
Ouch. That’s brilliant! A hero’s death.
Some of you seem really down.. I am sorry you guys are having such bad luck.
I also weren’t too happy with the drops while leveling my main from 1 – 80.
Constant paranoia about DR almost made me put down the game for good. Then one of my friends purchased the game so I decided to run around with him while he levels.Since I was going to lower level zones, I made sure I got nice magic find accessories, magic find runes (Traveler/Noble), magic find sigil and magic find food. And so came the most fun I had in this game.
I spent only two nights running around with him. I realized the frequency of greens and bags were much better than when I first visited the area, so I wanted to go test it around the world.
It was incredible, for the first time I saw Lodestones and Exotics drop. I even had one Exotic (level 80) drop from a Moa that I accidentally pulled with my AoE damage in a level 35 zone (yet I’ve seen claims they don’t drop in lower areas). I also bag the odd Exotic from dungeons, which I never had before changing my gear.
One very important note though: Drops are noticeably worse without the MF food. It is so bad, that after killing a couple of mobs and checking the drops I can actually tell that the effect from the food has worn off (should I forget to keep an eye on the buffs).
I’m happy for you, but this also illustrates how hard it is for us players to report what we see. I’ve tried playing in a somewhat similar way as you, and not seen nearly that level of loot. Is it because of DR? Is it a bug? If so, is the bug that you got that much or that I didn’t? What should we be getting? Is it just luck? Or maybe it’s all as intended? We don’t know anything really. Except that champs should always drop loot but don’t, and that many of us just don’t feel the loot is enough to be rewarding.
This is excellent work. Thank you for sharing it.
Cool. Now make one in survival mode. On hard
I like it a lot. The level of detail on the clothing is excellent. Good job.
D’aww, cute. But Merc, would a human get offended by a pet marmoset? I think Charr would probably be cool with that.
Marmoset? Marmoset…? (checking wikipedia…) Ah! Excellent point you make there And anyway, the cat looks so happy there on top of her head…
Nice work. I like that there’s a story to it as well. It’s very sweet. Would a Charr be offended by a human with a pet cat, I wonder…
I’d very much appreciate a drawing of my Necromancer if you can spare the time.
This sub-forum is brilliant! So many creative people sharing their talent.
Edit: Added a few more pics

As a almost exclusively PvE player I’m really happy about the way this game seems to be going. If they also take a look at the problems people are having with dismal loot drops I think this will keep me in the game for a long time.
I hope so too. I’d like them to glow a lot more too. My staff just barely shimmers. It took a long time to get all those lodestones, so I wish it looked a bit more epic. Probably not a high priority though, and understandably so.
Wow! That’s something I’ve never seen before. Very cool.
Thanks a lot. This is useful and handy to have. Nice of you to share your work like this.
Realy cool. That face is just brimming with personality.
I love coming to this part of the forum. You click on a link, and it’s never quite what you expect. So many creative people.
It’s unfortunate that players feel they have to construct specific and contrived ways of playing, based on their guess of how the DR system works.
People are moving zones, changing to an alt, doing events for a certain time, watching the clock so they change zones before a certain time period etc. All of this to avoid an anti-bot mechanic that ideally shouldn’t be noticable to real players. I hope this issue will be adressed so people can play the way they want to. It’s not just legendaries that require farming to make.
So cute. Too bad minions have short lives But good lives….
I like it a lot. Kind of cute-spooky and with recognizable armour pieces from the game. Nice to see a necromancer drawing here. There don’t seem to be too many.
One hour of killing icebrood creatures in Frostgorge Sound. Also two veteran corrupted quaggan killed four times each. Almost all creatures killed solo. Had farmed in area yesterday. Had not been logged in for approx 20 hours:
Icestones (junk): 29
Salvagable pelts and metal: 5
Large bones, claws and fangs: 31
Ancient bones and vicious fangs: 6
Whites: 5
Blues: 5
Greens: 0
Rares: 0
Exotics: 0
Corrupted lodestones or dyes: 0
Edit: Wearing 5x superior runes of the pirate, 1 major rune of the traveller and 16% magic find on jewlery.

Very cool. And they’re about the same size! Got to love the Asura. Nice work.
Although not partial to Quaggans, this is very cute. Well done!
Thank you for talking to us about this issue.
There is only one thing we can give something approaching concrete evidence about, and that is the drop rate from champions. This is the only aspect of loot drops where we have clear and concrete information about what is considered “working as intended”. The rest will not be concrete evidence, because it can all be dismissed as being unlucky due to rng. However, I understand that champions should always drop loot post-patch, so if they don’t we know it’s not working as intended.
These are my findings: I have fought the champion risen abomination and the champion risen broodmother outside Caer Shadowfain in Cursed Shore numerous times. I have only once had a drop from these, which was a blue drop.
Yes, well done! So much better and more logical too.
How does it hinder you in your farming?
After 30 – 60 minutes DR kicks in and the whole process becomes a massive drag. I wouldn’t mind lodestones being so hard to come by if I could get some fun loot while waiting for them to drop. Maybe that new dagger I’m hoping will drop some day. At least something. Now it quickly feels like a waste of time. It doesn’t seem to help if I leave the area for hours either, but that’s another story (and thread). Never had a lodestone drop after 60 minutes either, but that may be bad luck.
There is a flaw in the system. The game has quite a bit of content that requires farming, yet it tries to hinder your farming. This leads to player frustration. And I’m not just talking about legendaries – I’m okay with them being very hard to obtain.
For example, I set myself the goal of getting a corrupted branch staff. It’s there in the game, and I thought it might be a fun goal for my endgame. This requires 30 corrupted lodestones. Having completed the Frostgorge Sound map playing normally I had none. Zero. So if I want to get that weapon I clearly have to farm, yet I’m consitently being hampered by the game in this. It’s not really that great a system.
Rare that have dropped are always going to do so within the first hour of playing whether I play on my main then switch to alt or not. NOTHING good ever comes after that first hour no matter how many different maps or mobs you go to.
This pretty much sums up my experience too.
Has anyone noticed a change in drops?
I’ve played a lot today, and it’s not any better. Seems worse actually, but that’s probably just bad luck.
I really liked it a lot. Fantasitic look to it, and great fun.
Light armor = almost only skimpy sets for females
That’s not really so IMO. Unless your definition of skimpy is very broad, the balance between skimpy and more modest light armour is pretty close to 50/50.

That’s wonderful. Don’t let her go
Big one for me:
You can change your major traits any time outside combat. And it’s free. However, you need to pay to respec if you want to change the amount of points you put into the different trait lines.
Call me optimistic, but it’s hard to believe this is not a bug. Seems to me the lack of loot goes against what they tried to achieve with the last patch (i.e. lvl 80 drops in 55+ zones and more/better loot from champions and veterans). My guess is that something went a bit wrong. They’re not saying because they don’t know what/how to fix it, or they know people will rage so they tread carefully.
That being said, I’m sure they have very good and detailed statistics over what stuff drops, where and when. They also know a lot of players are motivated by loot. If there’s no change in the next patch I guess my optimism was misplaced.
“Let’s just pull the adds first, and leave the champion for after”
“Rise, my minion” (minion immediately draws aggro, then spectates)
That’s nice. Very thief-y!
I think the demon masque looks very nice and necro-y on my human female. Kind of an exaggerated eye-makeup. It’s annoying that you can’t change the colour, but I’ve transmuted it all the way to exotic ‘cause I like it so much. It’s all a matter of taste and how you envision your character I suppose.
