New match making is a fail. It worse than it was before. I played MUCH yesterday to see how it works. In the morning I had good, balanced matches. Than I played much more more in the evening and I lost 90% of games.

I ASK, WHY I AM MATCHED WITH PPL WHO ARE RANK 1 OR 7 OR FULL TEAM OF UNDER R20 THAN DON’T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT TOURNAMENT PLAY WHILE MYSELF BEING R50+ WITH 3.5K TOURNAMENTS AND 2.2K HOURS OF PVP PLAYED?

Matchmaking based on leadder rank is PATHETIC. I play pvp since year, and I get bad teams or leavers, so I fall down, so I’m stuck with ppl rank10 y? VERY CLEVER.
it’s ridiculous. rlly. I played much yesterday to see if its only a bad luck, but its impossible to have bad luck for 6h playtime. lowranked ppl duno what to do + more: they dont even wana listen what they shall do.
Rlly game is fun but match making makes it frustrating and rlly bad experience. After yesterday I didnt want to play at all. But I tryed it again today and guess what? 1st game, rank1 in my team ofc. Ofc lost. Its even worse than 4v5 coz such ppl r free walking 5points.
I should be matched vs ppl at least ranked 40-45, better if 50+. I’d rather have a skyhammer farmer r50 than full team of under r20.
Rlly Anet, u force me to quit. I dont wana, coz game is gr8 but why I shall play and only get angry? Even upcomming reward change won’t solve anything if match making will be the same.

BTW: don’t copmare it to random renas – I enjoyed them for 7 yrs. And they were RANDOM. Excluding syncers. It was basically more liek this: u got monk, others dont= 99%win. Both team got: one with better dps/monking wins. 2monks=resign.
This soloQ match making is pathetic in any possible way.

Edit: played few games: i loose hard 1xx-500 or win hard 500-1xx. why? COZ IM MATCHED WITH PPL RANKED 1-20. Last match: 17, 8, 14, 7. Enemy: 2, 7, 17, 4, 25. And its NEXT game in a row today when I got such ppl. I don’t have to pay attention in 1v1 at all, I win 2v1’s, both team zerg.
Srsly do something about it. If no, I’ll just quit like many others brfore me…

Yeah, sadly the most broken thing in sQ/tQ is the mentality of the players. People who havent played a hundred matches screaming about how broken the matchmaking is. Like “Why the hell im not top100? Im always topscorer in hotjoin! Matchmaking must be broken!”

NO rewards for leadder – NO for soloq syncing or farming non-good teams on tpvp.
Sadly people have a too big ego to keep on playing after some losses, so they stuck on hotjoin without learning anything to become better in tournament. Anet has to bring them top100, otherwise the game is broken…

Im at Tpvp leadder atm (over 2k rated matches), somewhere round 9oo and like 80% on soloQ (over 700 matches, didnt play much). And I think matchmaking is broken like hell. In most cases my matches looks like: I win 500-100 or I loose -100-500.
Maybe 1/5 matches r somehow balanced. I get ppl with rank 1 rank 7 etc. Or I fight vs such lowranked ppl being myself 50+. It’s just stupid and “uncool”. When I was in top15, than top100 pn soloq, it was much better, I had matches with simmillar ranked players, they were balanced, mostly 4xx-500 games. But lower I felt the worse they became.
So, matchmaking IS bad. It should be based imo on ppl rank 1-10 vs 1-10, 11-25 vs 11-25, 40-50 vs 40-50 etc.

Generally I see U went in condi/boon remove way. While it’s nice and MAY work, it doesn’t fit my mesmer playstyle/concept. After playing mes quite much I think it offers very strong dmg and it would be a waste to not use it. Sure, bunker mesmer can work, condi mesmer also can work but in my opinion, there are classes that can do those things more efficient. Personally, I atm run 3 power-based builds: Shatter, Phantasm, Interrupt.

From those U posted, I like the phantasm one the most, but would swap iDisench for Portal/IoL, maybe Blink instead of Decoy.

1 – some autoattack that apply vulnerability
2 – thieves unload/iDuelist unload, on simmilar cd as blurred frenzy
3 – some sort of blink ability, like phase retreat with clone generator OR some attack that cripple, blind and apply lets say 5stack of confusion

Legends achivable ONLY through pvp that will reward my over 1 year pvp playtime.
For sure not tight to ledderboards – they r joke. For sure NO converiosn pvp-pve. Last thing I want to see is ppl having 5, 6 or more legends coz they came from beloved pve. no no no.
Some new skins achivable only in pvp. Little gold/gem rewards in tourney win chests.
I’m so in love with Sunrise, butif u will tell me that I have to work on it from 0 I’m done :x

Mesmer Moa skill

Moa shouldn’t be reomved.. It can be frustrating in the begining, when ur not familiar with the game enough but after 1 year, for me, it’s basically 10seconds of breath and to plan what to do when I’m out of parott form. I don’t remember when I died in moa form in 1v1, I just don’t. Still got 2 dodges + 5. U just use terrain as advantage.
Moa is not op at all, it can be more dangerous in 2 or 3v1 but it’s still possible to survive it. So not op at all, why remove?

Yes please Anet, rework our class and bring us back GW1 mesmer.
Then all the whiners will know what frustration really is and be able to kill themselves.
I have (no) empathy for them.

This !!! At first I will make u unable to use skills, than i will drain your energy and at the end I will gratefuly let u kill urselfs. Gw2 mesmer in terms of frustration is far behind the Gw1 mesmer. Ah, old good times :S

Sorrow means it’s quite hard to target in big teamfights when u got spirit ranger, a mm, a one more guy and the mesmer. And when u finally target it for burst he can port, stealth etc. But when targetting mesmer on teamfight, I target it myself for the team so they see him all the time and ther eis no problem killing it as its paper.

Ok, maybe 80% was rlly 2much :> but as i said be4, catching mes in teamfight is not a problem for me. When I play necro hes pretty much dead the first second I see him on the team fight Maybe its just me, but very rarely i loose target on mesm, I find it worse to maintain it on stealth thieves.

Also Sorrow, I think those 2 are strongly conencted with each other.
In situation like U discribe, I still can do it rather easily. Thast 1. 2nd thing, it hapens rarely to me to have mesmer, spirt ranger and mm necro on same small node. Its rather 1v1 in 80% cases, and if its +spirt ranger I don’t find it difficult, sorry, maybe I just play 2much and got no problems coz of practise.

Fjandi, Yes, my main is mesmer, so? As U see in my signature, I play much other classess to and have to deal with mesmers. Mes is just most fun and the best designed for me and I enjoy it the most thats why its my main.

It’s just class design, thats why. Mesmer was made to ccnfuse, loose target, being not easy to target when ur not familiar with it. If u just tabbed to target mes where is the confusion, finding target? there isn’t. And it’s good, coz it’s not hard, also clicking on mes isn’t hard at all for me.
Necro is rather a solo one, MM is just one of the build, I’d say minions r to fight for u and defend u, rather than confuse enemy and trick him. Necro and spirit ranger weren’t made at core design to be confusing, mesmer was.

U see, I guess we can’t agree coz I don’t have problems with finding, click among closnes, while U seem to have such problem. Dats all.

I’ll repeat, I don’t have problem with clicking on real mesmer among all clones and never had so sorry, can’t understand Ur pain =/ Maybe I got some godlike clicking skills I wasn’t aware of?
I like to fight vs mesmers, especially shatters, thay are so lovely squishy when u get them.

No1 ever told U, U can’t be sure 100% anything in life? Sorry to dissapoint U, but I play, big female norn mes, I don’t like the asura look and armor on them.
And here is the case – I don’t fail to keep target on real mesmer, if I got to retarget it I got close to 0 difficulty in it. Maybe iI had problem, back 1 year ago when I was learnign the game, but hell not now after over 1 year…Thats why I don’t get crying on target loosing, stealth etc coz if I can do it, other can to.
Targettin for example on necros minions should be improved, but on mesmer it is hwo it should be, clones are to confuse enemy, whats the point of having them if u just target real mesmer with ease (which actually u can do with good awerness)?

Clearly, U didn’t play GW1 PvP where I could punish U for using ur skills harder than here (Say Hello to Power Block WoH monkz <3). There was muchMORE control but less dmg. Here we got more dmg and less punishment.
And really? Ppl still got problems to find mesmer, de-targetting after over of year pvp? U just need some awerness and good eye to spot real one. And if u know build u fight against and basic rotation it’s really not hard…or maybe u got slowed reaction time? ;d
I agree fighting vs 3mesmer in mid fight is annyoing coz we can have up to 12 mesmers in the bettlefield, but fighting single 1 isn’t that hard really… PU mesmer IS annyoing but he can’t hold a point due to his stealths.

And as a class – for me it’s one of the best designed class, if not the best. The idea of clones and all mechanic is really gr8 job by ANet.

I would add to this also : if U get during ur games for example “Headhunter” 50 or 100 times, not only U get for example 25 achi points, but u get this as title to show off. I would love to have titles shown like for example “Silent Master”, “Shhh”, “Immortal” or “Just resting”.

I think this quote alone will give me enough drive to continue PvPing in hopes that this revamp is going to be truly something special.

Honestly, I can’t wait to hear what we should be looking forward to (although I realize it is too early for that).

It’s to early? Players r begging for this since year and it’s still to early? They should have given some accurate details by now. Atm, I don’t know what actually I am waiting for. If I did, at least some, I would know that it’s worth my time spent. The most exciting thing to come for me r legendaries, coz I’d love to use Sunrise or Twillight on my mesm and Incinerator’s od thief (y, I’m still oldschool d/d bacstabber). I really would like to know if I can make it right away – to reward my over 1year time spent in pvp – or not. There’s little hope in me that I will be able to but we will see.

Rewards r important, playing for example 3-4h, some winning some loosing, doing this daily/few times a week since months is not so much fun anymore. It’s a bit boring already, although more FPS like active combat system is great. I feel unrewarded for my time spent (while my friend in pve, who left pvp in december got already 5 legends, and he started from nothing, true from 0 to hero) while I got my skills, few armors and bear finisher (earned hard in tpvp not kittenin’ skyhammer farm).

If the new reward system will fail, I’m out, not going to wait more months for improvements… Not to mention there should be much hot-fixes to some skills/traits, added template system etc, but nvm, this is about rewards.

Any ideas when is it going to be in-game? I’m waiting for this since 1yr already and it would be nice, if Devs said at least approximate date ? Or maybe they said and I missed it somehow? Maybe a chance for 15th patch?

Salvaged all i had in them. Took me few hours ;D
And if sum1 says u can get rare dyes from chests – 700 chests, round 50-60dyes, nothing worth more than 1g.

Guess what Kuma – recently i opened like 700 tourney chests. So if something needed for legendary would be in tourney chests I’d get very angry. They should reward us alrdy for plaiying pvp – 1 do it since 1yr. By this time I’d have 3-6 legends in PvE. When they finally make legends for pvp – I should be able to do it almost instantly for all my effort ALREADY put in. If I will have to start from 0, liek guy who bought game week ago – sry but I’m done.

Yeh, that was gr8 system – if i needed pve farmable skin that i could use in pvp – all i had to do was to have fun in pvp, get some factions trade for cash and get what i liked. I need next one? Repeat.

I played 7yrs GW1 :p
Ok it was like this: u could make a char for pve or only pvp. With ur pve char u also could enter pvp, with ur pvp only not. The connection pve-pvp was made in awesome way. U could come with ur pve char with nice weps and pimped armor to pvp – ofc with good runes and build.
For wining in pvp U had great, expensive skins (depends on luck q9 very expensive, q13 less but still nice cash) and faction. Faction was a GW2 glory but it wa usefull in gw1. U could trade it for ecto to buy nice weps or sell for cash, or open Zaishen chest to check if ur lucky enough to get cool skin. For wining GvG or HA battles – chest with expensive cool looking skins. Sell or use. I was rich actually by having fun in pvp and could afford cool weps. I dindn;t have to do pve to have cash or skins (for example achi, pve stuff and the nunlockin to pvp in gw2). It was gr8 system. And a reward for playing good were titles – Gladiator, Champion, Hero. They built ur prestige, not cool looking skins. Skins just made u look nice, stylish.
So same should be here – legendaries as a skin to make u look stylish (that need some effort). They should make weekly, monthly tournaments and give prestige titles and cash rewards for best players.
So in my opinion legend shouldnt be skill based – titles should be. Just like in GW1.

The PvP legendaries should be skill based (eg win a big tournament) and be somewhat of a status symbol

No – its just skin. It should ba avaible to ppl who play much and devote time to make it – same like in pve. Why pvp should be different? Skill based – unique titles, cash prizes, big gem rewards. Not a legend skin. It VERY unfair compared how u can get them in pve.

In gw1 status was measured by title – gladiator, champion etc not by havin q9 crysta or eternal.

Hard to aquire skins in pve? There is nothin like this – all are easy. Especially CoF armor which req r50 in pvp. Nightmare is also cool – r80. Lets say pvpers got easier with Orrian set, in pve u need to do Arah much to get it and its not that easy dungeon.

And next thing – where are skisn like Volcanous, Vision of the Mists, Whisperblade, Mjolnir, Cobalt, Aether, Azureflame etc? Ther r the coolest ones and guess what – they don;t even exist in pvp -.- And icy dragon sword is r80 – gj on rewards. I played pvp today for few hours and all i got from it is purple bar a moved a bit into right (ofc except fun of pvping).
Legends should be implemented in the way i suggested imo…

1. Crytal desert – branded theme with big purple pulsign crystals etc – a secondary objective to destroy a big crystal for 50 points once per ~5mins.
2. Ascalonian Catacombs – nodes in “rooms” u fight bossess in story mode.
3. Orr theme.
4. Sylvari theme.

All maps NOT tight – clear fighting spots like on Legacy with good connection between each node.

But don’t we talk about PvP here? There should be Pve-Pvp connection in like it was made in GW1 but there is nothing like this. They promote Pvers much giving them good skins at the begining (read: living story skins like Super, achi armors etc).
No no no. No more. If there is no real connection just STOP it Anet. If U play Pve and got legend – good for U, enjoy it but no way to jsut come pvp and have it coz U came from beloved Pve. If U want it in PvP – do ur job, spend time to get glory, rank, maybe titles.
Why it should be easy for Pve players? To just come and have it? The whole idea of skins trasfering from pve to pvp is already horribly stupid and it CAN’T be true for Legends.

But, at the same time, the people that have legendaries already and have earned them in PvE, why should they not be able to convert them in PvP? I see no harm there. It’s not like they should have to earn them in PvP, when they just did as much work.

Than I want to convert my PvP one to PvE one how many times i want or NO.

I agree with this. 4stack of dust, 2crystals, 1silver + 250k glory + let’s say 2champion titles + round r50 = legendary <— need time, grind same as pve ones. And req even more time to get to make r1-50.

It simply CAN’T be gives as a reward to tops on lb. Coz 97%of population in pvp will never get close to that even. I was top 10 on soloQ for few days, but felt down muuuuch coz i actually played soloQ and didnt stop on 10/1 ratio. And now it is undoable 4me to be in tops = never gettin legend although i got round 2k h pvp played (90% tourns). It should be grindable like it is in pve – u devote soem time = u got ur fav legend skin.

Skill based reawards should be for weekly/monthly tournaments (when they inttroduce them) and they should be like cash, or ingame things liek gems or special titles.

PvE Legends aren’t exclusive – go LA on crowdy server and U will see tons of twillights, some sunrise, bitfrost’s etc. In pve U can get a legend without actually playing the game which is sad (TP playing). It’s avaible to any1 how want to make it – only needs time.

Also when they introduce it there should be option to turn off animation effects to those who don’t wana have them/got older computers/got bad connection to not cause lags.

2. Add an unrated Soloarena wich continious after winning. Same like the Gw1 Random Arena.

this x1000!! I rlly loved RA coz of that – u meet quite good random teammates, u do well together so after win u try vs others. It was gr8 idea, made many 25 streaks with such system and was actually more fun than even TA 4me. If u got leaver no problem – u just get another guy who soloqed.
Should be in-game since launch… !

Now when it comes to rewards … revamp your glory system.
Remove all the silly materials the mystic forge and that pvp locker. Instead use glory to unlock all the armor and weapon skins out there … even t3 and those shiny pve skins. Once unlocked we can use them as much as we want. But things should not be unlocked after 10 hours of play. Make dyes unlockable for your charackter with glory, too.

Also this! Think what U want but having good reward system is very important – I asked few friends (pvers) why they dont wana pvp. They said there is no reward for them for the time spent – no nice shiny skins or armors to look cool to unlock with glory, nothing to aim for actually (aiming for r80 is quite silly?). Ofc skill matters, but wouldn’t U get tired after 3yrs goin in same average looking armor doing same over n over and just watching ur purple bar goes up?

Lol Phantasm counter s/d thief? The ammount of evades in this build is ridiculous that they can evade whole duelist unload + simply evade with double tap the izerker.
Also lol on how necro eats s/d with aoe → thief jsut rolls through marks, and if u miss DS3 ur left with no fear while he evades all condi skills.
Stop giving a crap and play vs good opponents not ur hj “pros”. If a thief fails to glass mes or necro hes simply bad.

S/D is the biggest beast in this game atm and need a wise nerf (not to the ground!!!!!).

1. Better reward system – re-make it totally.
2. Balance changes.
3. Template saving (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
4. Modes – TDM, some nice CTF (can be orb like in spirit watch)
5. Ability to watch tnice tournaments INGAME like in gw1 – with a ~20min delay. I don’t wana search for streamers, just be able to do it ingame.

Actually, ther is nothing worth doing… maybe dyes in mf to have a little profit but nothing more until they remake reward system. Its useless actually.

I think if you got a legendary from PVE it should transfer over as a skin if you wanted. Kinda like the radiant skins now you get form points… I already grinded the kitten out of PvE took 2 months off to do it now i should be able to do it this way. If they want to make legendaries useful in pvp then i should be able to use the skin from pve as well. :p

No No one more time NO. Yay pve boyz will come having 2, 5 legendaries right away coz they made it pve, so ofc, same like with radiant/hellfire, promote PVEr’s MORE.

PvP Skins should be separate from PvE. PvP legend their own way to make, Pve ones
own. NO transfer between PvP<->PvE.
NO more promoting Pvers over PvP. If they will do such, some ppl will get frustrated and leave.
They should take care of pvp finally – BALANCE and rewards.

Legend weps SHOULD NOT BE a reward for big tourneys winners. Top teams play them to get cash n fame not skins. Also, if they were obtainable this way, to see them u would have to be very lucky to face a person who got them.
Also, I payed for the game as every1 else so i should be able to have access to all content in the way i like to play eg pve skins in pvp ( azureflame, volcanous, mjonlnir, legends etc). In GW1 i didn’t play GvG much, but I had eternal set, VS, BDS, Runic blade, Crysta JUST by playing PvP (RA, Cdx, JQ/FA/AB) – faction→keys→ca$h so I was able to get stuff I liked for game style I liked and that was cool. Didnt have to PvE.
In GW2 PvE Legend don’t need ANY skill. Just 2-4months time (my friend left pvp and made legendary from 0 in 3months, including lvling till 80, map etc), or U can also play TP and simply BUY it without even playing the game. So why not achivable Legends in PvP if in PvE every1 who want devote time can have his Twillight or Bitfrost?
In PvP they shouldn’t be very easy to get (as its in pve) but still doable.
For example req to get a skin:
- r40
- All champion titles (Legio, Genius etc)…. [or at least 4]
- 500k glory
-1500 tournament matches won since begining

It needs time and skill to achieve, it needs some grind, coz it needs to have it, is not so easy to get as in pve, and next legend skin will also cost 500k glory which involves even more time spent.
Giving them to big tourney winners is simply stupid, as 99,8% spvp playerbase will never get there, and there should be a chance to get the skin for everybody as it is in pve. Also the 2nd stupid way to obtain Anet could implement – make a legend in pve THAN unlock it for pvp – it would promote PvErs over PvPers even more than its now.

And if sum1 don’t wana see more effects:

let us turn off the projectile effect – Should be as option.
