I agree with the 3 character name tags. All of Anets options remove server identity.
WvW recruitment is very difficult with new transferred players not even knowing their servers guilds, and vice versa we cant see new players. Considering server is only required for WvW why would we not see it? being a gypsy server is difficult , but we survived now the naming stuff comes up and server isn’t an option? seriously no. I also think if server identity is not going to saved, you need to give a vote on server mergers.
I like the sound of it. As weapons get added it means less for warriors as its part of our core mechanic. If we get double daggers its a good twist to make it more interesting, having said that torch not being an offhand for dual weapons was balls, so lets hope its integrated. Plus we need an alternative to berserk if we tag. its to selfish.
saying that , post auto-loot there is very little need to leave wvw, fundraisers have pretty much died

Some guild are very specific about that, aswell as TS and whether you tag.
Lastly I would suggest you think about the size of the guild /server you want and if you have a preference over zerg or roaming parties. Even dedicated wvw guilds run fundraisers , rather than farming mats speed dungeon runs are the preference, Also different levels of guilds have different upgrades, google it and see if it makes a difference to you. Once chosen -stick with it to be a valued member. good luck
agreed, but its still a fair amount of what if. In wvw you have to take eternal champion so neither are an option, post stability changes its the most important trait of all. Conditions damage post the cap removal is an issue, I don’t see how that’s resolved by removing warriors biggest condition giver. That’s not a balance. What cheese’s me off is the continual nerf calls in Warrior, as we are considered the lowest skill class it seems free reign to come and kick our tyres. It’s getting old.
overkill on the drama, you can’t have bloody roar and king of fires on the same build, its a bit like listing all the signets and saying you could have this much damage.
mace is supposedly a defensive weapon, so it stops ur opponent.
blind, crippled and dazed, leaving you bleeding and confused for damage.
in order to keep build diversity I think is should have multiple conditions stop -I have no issue with loosing the bleeding, the confusion seems in sync with the skill ,however the base damage could get a nerf not fussed.
however I don’t think its that op, I face necros in WVW all the time and deathly swarm is nasty, whilst you might argue the cool down isn’t comparable, all their other skills are adding conditions aswell (+they aren’t having to gain adrenaline or light up like a xmas tree) where as you are tap tap tapping with the mace for a fair amount of the time, meaning the points you put into condition damage have less return. I dropped mace from my WVW build as if you stand still enough to pick up the same character for to long you are minced, so the stops weren’t that useful. However I can see in PVP it could be more of an issue. IF it needs nerfing and I’m not sure it does then reduce the damage so its a set up skill making it more difficult to use, and not dangerous spammable on it’s own.

in more team play focus I’d like to see some skills that promote co-operation. the best I could think of was assist siege (range would mix it up, or just speed), so we aren’t all standing about like muppets , but speed doylaks, or boon npcs and mercs might work aswell all based on how many people are there. I know people don’t like blobs so cap it at 5, so old school parties can have more of an effect.

warrior seems to be the only forum that calls for nerfs, there are loads of overpowered skills, greater than this, I hope anet looks at what players are using rather than these sour grapes posts that drop in. If it was massively op, then everyone would be using it….

which means even the server color tags are unenforceable. If people want to run anon or guild groups on TS -so be it. If there are two tags on a map and one is guild then most people respect that , if there’s only one…
I’d like some better terrain , when its night I’d like it dark with storms would be cool, reduced vis in rain, and perhaps a forest to mix it up.
the towers are formulaic so I’d like an overhaul of the walls /door breakdown , why is it you hit the corner (toughest part) to get double walls? I’d also like it quicker on the roads or slighlty slower on the off terrain. etc.
always a nerfing , I see call to increase cast time for GS? after the might and gs damage nerfs? really? the problem is (WVW) post condi + stability changes everyone is on bombs. If you do get into their zerg the casters feel the need to cry nerf- ‘how dare they’, we should be gods.
Be nice to some actual game balance not populist pap. AOE nerfing might stop some of the xbridge standoffs awell. We’ll see, given we didn’t get nerfed last time and got adrenal health, my money is nerf post witchunt/sour grapes.
wxp, was a fault. It was farmed and made a mockery of the ranking system and was rightly removed. I don’t think the intention was for it to be used instead of WVW in the gift of battle, so doesn’t seem relevant. Master all the game modes get a legendary , PVP’ers are the only ones hard done by. ( -I hated doing map completion)

post the massive release numbers its a fairly steady community, and as FSP droppped in numbers we hard core uw stayed the same. So its balanced itself out a bit, and we are just getting to the point of appreciating each other. I don’t fancy starting this all again.
Uw here, you people have politics like nothing I’ve seen . I f people have joined UW to add to FSP and game matchups then they will leave soon, as they have not joined UW guilds….

As for the ‘council’ and allocated tag time and associated spreadsheet booking, raspberries. EB has a tag as often as it doesn’t . Appreciate your tags and the guilds that support them, TS catches up.
I’m glad to see this back at the top non server identity is a massive problem for lower tiers. Alot of users have survived post their guild and play for their server. These people have left /are leaving. WVW is about players , this is a massive loss.
As a lower tier we know everyone, post transfers changes we have alot of new people?
how can we tell? the few that have joined our guild (randomnly) as some new folk don’t understand the server concept have no idea , presumably those that joined to play upper tier will leave when we swap? no-one knows… Its really bad. Switching from 1/4’s to 3 months wasn’t what I had in mind. Server tiers, identity and play style need looking at. If that’s not going to happen I’d vote no to it all….
I also don’t recall a vote on mergers, just linking? given the number of questions in this, I think they could have got a better spread of questions.
I find it odd because it assumes and doesn’t ask if people want server linking or not. Anet just admitted that was an issue with the alpine/dessert question, so why do the same again. Especially if there’s room given the number of what I would consider the same option. To other guest servers, it’s name change time! the happy happy hardcore of ours have started rolling characters or name contracting their mains to have their Server in it. Love it . we shall not fade …

I swapped to berserk as soon as it came in, and have had alot of fun but since the various nerfs on primal burst I’m not sure its better than warrior.

reasons to hang up the torch and mace+rifle.
primal skills -20% & the removal of insta cast on rifle (although I’ve yet to find the patch notes for the cast); complete reliance on adrenaline meaning I have to take signet of rage over battle std, and unlike Might and phalanx strength or shouts or banners its me me me me.

I think anet did a good job of building in berserk but its now tough to say no. I can’t believe other classes grandmaster traits are so entwined with their elite.
It’s a shame it got nerfed based on the forum witchhunt I could probably have lived with -10%, I’m not sure it’s worse than spamming COR and the biggest thing I’ve been hit with – executioner’s scythe.

I’ve not mentioned preference (you do like to assumption over science?) I suggested weighting and data mapping because the discussion was around it being PVE influenced. I also suggested that anet don’t listen to the forum to much and self appointed ‘experts’ which could obviously cause some to feel psychologically threatened as we clippity clop across the bridge…..

I like it, previously I was taking stability build/utility and it made no difference as a frontliner I still got dragged across the enemy zerg and flatenned. Now it’s part of my set up and I choose when to pop etc /it’s not widespread across the zerg. I’m not sure thats a bad thing , like cleanse you need to take care of it yourself. If its not available for support builds though that’s an issue.
can’t agree with local buffs, so 5 vs 20 the 5 get a buff the map doesn’t?
so roaming groups boot/abuse non ascended players? 5 in a tower + 3siege can occupy 20 at the moment. once the walls go they should lose, that’s the game… why would they then have 5vzerg chance in combat? I don’t mind making it fairer and the current boost is a joke. But I’m a no to player buffs. Plus I don’t think its feasible technically to implement live with all the calcs and players. what happens if 20-1, 5% reduction in buff, whats the range? what if 5-1 and so on, does the last person resemble the incredible hulk? not a fan.
I’d like to see outnumbered increased it’s a joke now, but don’t think it can apply to players as , as per discussion 1v1v1v1 makes it unfair the players will be op.
I’d like to see the NPC’s scale up though so they can help and an auto supply drop at the waypoint. If you are outnumbered and they have spawn camped you , sups is the first big issue for those that want to play.
There isn’t post the condi change, frontline have to run healing + toughness, and condi clear and stability, which covers both stats and utilities. Leaving very little on the attack so most people are heading ‘mid’ the anet builds encourage this by the diminishing returns etc. So optimum is balanced. On that argument I’d say guardian but jack of all trades means master of none…. If I was whinging I’d say back line AOE needs the balance/nerf and you can see that happening now, then everyone in the middle! no roles! boo dull. is WVW tactics or enthusiasm, there are no right answers.
On balance I like the update (with alpine) server pride and identity is an issue, on small servers all the players know each other I find it quite strange on FSP when 2 FSP’s ask each other what server they are on ( so they can have teamspeak permissions) like wise all the guild only tagging ? something UW has never really got into , simply no need when its the same people and most of the time u are outnumbered. However the good outweighs the bad, most of the people are nice and theres always a tag on somewhere. What Anet could do is allow some UW indetity on players etc or make the moves perm, half and half doe no-one no favours.

and I see a couple of zerk and dare in EB (always a pleasure), but not alot . The various non rep UW gulids show the same, activity is down even if you include the borders.

the uw +fsp link hasn’t been going great. the wvw uw guilds have not just got the move, but the q’s and blob style to contend with. Also it was a rocky start I’ve not seen an UW com in EB since cutover w/e and not sure I will see one again…

post cutover I’m seeing less an less uw in EB some in the borders but activity is very low. Despite the small size of uw we are proud of our server (KDR) higher than fsp… etc. I don’t think this has been handled well. they should have rolled up the small servers we have more in common and know+respect each other.
Probably been asked before, but be nice to play/raise my alts whilst q’ing, rather than mooching about lion’s arch in a finished character.
I have tried to switch characters whilst in a q (before writing this) unsurprisingly you ‘log out’ -so it’s not do-able? If there is a legitimate way of doing this , pls post.
I’m not playing wvw this week, nor are loads of people on uw. Those that do are worried if we don’t have enough points we wont go up and will end up with the same match up. I salute them.
If you offer UW a merger with ROS and Vabbi and as I’ve suggested + a free limited time pass for the server. I’d bite your hand off- and we’d decide as a guild
as for the pots cracked rubbish the last time I got told to conceptualise by a consultant we got them back for free. We wouldn’t pay for them and when I finished nor would anyone else. I wouldn’t recommend something I wouldn’t take myself.

This is not instead of the wvw overhaul this is a short term solution to the current problem.
Lets pretend they sort all the other problems I suspect the bottom 2 servers are kitten as their wvw guilds have left. Alot left uw, but we are (were) stable….
fixing the bugs won’t bring guilds back.
The big rebalancing solution may fix it but it could be a long time coming knowing anet. By which time we will have shed alot/all of players and end up like the bottom 2.
For the avoidance of doubt I’ve transferred servers and transferred back. It’s not the same without the rest of the UW and the massive blob fights aren’t so fun for me. Close or merge the bottom 3 and offer a free transfer for a limited time so guilds can go together if thy don’t want the default….. the balance update won’t be affected the numbers are to small by those that still play…Lastly I don’t see how the update can work without some sort of dynamic balance. Which is part of the problem UW still has alot of players but no-ones bothering with wvw . That could change (fingers crossed).. but the potential is there which is why I think mergers only work at the bottom, mid and top tiers run the risk of over populated. But that’s always been there as WVW dies on servers and they drop in rankings, PVP +PVE don’t need to transfer. Whats happening for us is WVW is so empty when we fight the zombies, new players are taking a look and not coming again…
our server has been through to much together, wvw is community most old timers are 3 to 4 guilds… split our server it will die
I don’t think there needs to be half the number of servers , people like differing levels of blob. But no players or say less than ten is an issue at the bottom you could add the regulars of the bottom 2 to any server.
Simply the next bottom would keep the experience as close for them as previous.

in EU, the bottom 2 servers are basically empty as an UW player (probably “just maintenance”) says we are back against vabbi and Ros. Blacktide had them last week and steam rolled up, and although we came second this week down we go in a zombie match up.
People are already saying they won’t bother with WVW this week… and it’s not started!
please can you roll up the bottom tiers I don’t mind if 26+27 go into 25 and 24 to keep it fair, or both into one or god bless you- you use stats(?). As long as the servers are kept whole, can’t see they would argue . We’d love to have em.

I can’t see why you wouldn’t. If you roll a server give them all a free one off transfer to compensate their ’t’s+c’s’ and we are done.

I think we’d go for it in EU not only do we have alot in common with our neighbours , but be nice for some different opponents. We’re thick as thieves in UW(bottom -3) but its not like we are losing the people on our server quite the opposite. odds on anet offering this, slim to none.
I’d vote yes , the bottom 3 servers get merged to keep it going and we mince the middle tiers. Its only the hard core left -but we don’t have the numbers….
as for server pride its all good we’ve had so many battles is sad when our opponents show up and there’s only a handful
not sure about 1 day matches, would they finish at midnight, and start at midnight? you have a chance to counter night capping at the moment across the 7 days. Likewise some days are busier on our server than others as we’re not all after schoolers. Presumably you would play the same team for a week and best of 7? Given the cumulative nature of the ‘tick’ I’m not sure how different this is to now, rather the snapshot gives more emphasis to gaming/night capping. Full asc at 500 feels to low/quick + rewards need to stagger to keep interest some posts have recommended bronze , silver gold skins etc that feels better. Useful stuff is needed, a choice of a piece of ascended armor per 200 levels seems sensible starting with boots and finishing with chest then weapons might work better as people can work their crafting around it aswell. All or nothing seems a bit over the top they are effectively post lvl 80 end game gear. The rest is all good.
when I use ‘soft’ staggered launch etc at work its cos I’m kitten. Not convinced its completely baked, but I don’t think Anet are upto to coming clean on the new Bl’s either a few visual blocks etc? come on. Doesn’t sound like they are near a solution.
Not a bad idea but I think it’s a different game bottom middle and top + I think you are assuming a growing population, locking the bottom 3 servers now (in europe) the bottom 2 are empty, what about the final few stuck in there, and what incentive is there for anyone to go there?
At the moment it’s a mess atleast with a bit more info people can make informed decisions, not everyone wants to go from a bottom tier to a top one or vice versa, but alot of people aren’t happy with whats happened to their server rather than them leave WvW completely I’d rather they choose a new server. in fact given the mess we are in Anet could do worse than rolling out a free one account transfer on say the third birthday or some such. Who knows that and some info might tempt some of the now PVE’ers back if they could choose their server.
Two sides of the same coin. If there’s less and less people, you cant fight your match ups people leave, no-one new can start as they get instant-shanked your WvW population dies. In some cases I think the servers should get merged at the bottom -this won’t make alot of difference to the others. Overall I’d like to see the charge to switch have about a 1/3 off it’s expensive for wvw’ers (but I don’t think free is the answer) and some decent stats published not ‘deviation’ but max and min figures on number of users per day in the last week (gone) so people know what they are getting into but cant use it to game this weeks score. Aswell as the average play time per character so people can get some idea of the ‘hard core’ it won’t be perfect and the average play time could do with being split into quartiles but hopefully you get the drift. Anet aren’t balancing the population I think the population should do it.

+gear, as we have less choice in skills so sigils and runes become more important. I must have tried every sigil going with most of the runes to match my playstyle. Alot of it is feel people can say you can’t tell you +-200 toughness passed 3K because of diminishing returns. I can certainly feel it and If I’m not careful I’m toast or I feel like a god, overplay and = toast again. I think we enjoy the game more than alot of other professions. In my WvW guild (sadly gone) the warriors had the shiniest armour competition. Genius, it’s not enough to run screaming into the enemy lines you need to be lit up like a xmas tree first. Can’t see the prissy guardians doing that (our closest cousins) I discount revs as they seem to believe the game owes them the world.
