+1 I’m back on vanilla, I find a balanced stance build better than nerf eternal champion.
I’ve also switched to axes, which seem to be fine , but more because I need a break from gs.
in a zerg of say 20 I was seeing maybe 4-7 berserkers
now I see maybe 2 and 2 warriors, or less

? our guild thieves target warriors specifically it takes a while but they know they will win 9/10. scrappers they leave alone.

eternal champion was my problem as I frontline/tag.
I’ve switched in balanced stance to help cover it, which makes rousing resilience the preference. losing cleansing ire is an issue but given the smashbrawler reduction this was an issue anyway. So I’ve added signet of stamina. rousing resilience on its own is not uber strong because of the diminishing returns so I’ve switched to scrapper runes this means I now no longer need endure pain. healing signet and berserker stance use resistance so work well with signet of stamina, although its ‘one clear’ which makes it risky. I’ve switched discipline in (cleanse) and run hammer to get around this (and the arc divider nerf) I just hate hammer, all the skills are the same, but suspect it’s meta.
Other options for me look to be rune of sanctuary, but 20@% is to low a trigger, or rely on guards….

there’s also a fair amount of warrior salt kitten all passive blocks, easy to play I just hit my skills on cooldown, low skill threshold, thiefs are the best blah blah blah and they wonder why people get angry? its nonsense thiefs 1v1 warriors everytime and seek them out so why call for nerfs? on the grandisio ‘behalf of the game’ its all delusional.

its not the worst nerfing we’ve seen , but I reckon it brings us bottom half on professions I’ll be switching to guard more and more. what annoys me is that they chop all the skills in use, without balance. axe? doesn’t fit burnzerker or condi we could have done with something useful. Eternal champion is the biggest pain, adding stab means I sacrifice cleanse … I add cleanse at the expense of power….(ouch whoop whoop the condi kitten train) on the plus side we’ve ended up with build diversity. I expect to see alot less warriors in wvw as builds are less out the box, which should slow the feeding of the trolls (thiefs) who cry nerf basically on sight.

might spamming using phalanx strength or maybe vigorus shouts at a pinch
given the recent banner upgrade I’d think about that, + discipline if you are happy with hammer.
defense line is a given and you need strength/gs if you are going might.
BUT you need stab and cleanse, and so do your minions….any tank can tag, but if you dont spam the stab you need to coordinate your frontline through your guards .
TS and saffron bread baskets…

not a massive surprise, but not great, does this mean wvw is not ‘end content’ ?
is zerg fighting easier than raids?… not seen a solo vs zerg utube.
infact alot of the specialisms , co-ordination and need for decent gear means wvw is very similar to raids arguably more so than pvp.

according to dev tracker (hellooooo) anet read this! like alot of people I voted in dbl as ‘some’ slightly vocal people liked it and it’s their home. More is more in wvw.. we luv you all. However all the ‘you dont have to run for 5 mins or fall off a cliff’ stuff makes me weep. It’s not for me or the majority? of wvwers. You wouldn’t put a multi-storey car park in the middle of a football pitch would you. Please anet come clean and show some stats on player usage in each map so we can have an informed debate. I admit I am biased in that I now longer know people who play dbl….
There are plenty of other options for people who like limited number matchups so we need stats

depends on the party you are with. I aim for about 14/15 stacks from me. this is wvw.
its been trial and error, more than that and its still 25 stacks 95 % time.. so wasted skills spent. Occasionally it drops to 20 ish but not that often. you’ve also got boon duration to play with, and a decision if you are willing to rev up…. more than 15 should give you a more instant 25. 14/15 is pretty instant I’m looking at 3 or 4 th weapon skill attack. but it depends on alot of things and where I am in the zerg and the tag etc.

bit bored of these aswell, warrior is more forgiving than alot of squishy proffessions but I’m not sure its easier. I’m alting guard for wvw stab support.. what I get three f buttons? I can press any time? no adrenal charge/ turning into a xmas tree etc? I can hit my elite turn invincible and then get them all back again?

you cant compare professions on damage stats alone.
If I didn’t think my skills would rot I’d play guard all the time.

get rid of body blow>for great fortitude and you need to be the otherside of 2000 for power really, look at more might if you cant do it on stats alone. ditch stomp aswell and think about bulls charge do you really need it? you may be better of with hammer.

this wvw? or pve? and do you have hot? like a fair amount of gw2 mending doesn’t make loads of sense , it doesn’t scale with healing power , so is worth more the more you add toughness, as each point is more difficult to take although toughness has a decreasing scale to balance this. however for your purposes doylak signet is your friend. likewise rousing resilience on defense. assuming axe is your main might be worth swapping discipline for tactics and adding shake it off , and balanced stance utility to trigger rousing resilience. you have little to no cleanse so assuming you arent wvw you can ditch stab/last stand. assuming you rifle -bulls charge- axes you should look at increasing your burst damage and stances as they are more efficient for impact play.. fear me can help you break up blobs, and you are then aiming for conditions and or damage? you’ve got a fair amount of bleed physical skills/conditions, but have picked power weapon sigils. you need to pick one or the other to choose offensive runes, maybe necromancer if you like fear me. defensive assuming little to no boons bar a bit of might yes doylak suits your purpose although is more common to stack passives i.e with healing signet as they are deliberately low. rune of the scrapper is also worth a look.

roaming builds are subjective (I take old skool runes of strength) but so are zerg with eterrnal champion we have the option to go further than guardians, especially if you take cleansing ire , blobs cant evade the lightbulb. the zerg build looks to be guard’ish or mid blob which suggests more banners or burnzerker for efficency , but depends how you play and who you play with. It takes 20 mins on teamspeak with new wvw warriors to get them going. weapons they prefer then traits +runes + utilities need to be sync’d. theres no one size fits all. trait tree flexible? (above) no . that’s bs. every choice should match. and you cant do it without talking about peoples play style.

its nice, and unlike cleansing ire its not part of the lightbulb give away. I’ve used it with shrug it off but still don’t think its part of a roam build if you aren’t prepared to pvp you cant roam lower tiers. There’s also no way I would use durability runes without a guardian group as we don’t generate enough boons. if you take last stand you increase stances and the stab means you can swap eternal champion (for zerg swimming) with bloody roar , which helps with the kiters.
I find the best thing for thieves is taking rifle as the alt to keep it flexible, the push on rifle butt and the extra dodge.. gunflame .

rousing resilience in roam also looks odd. toughness is only good 5 on 5 when theres alot coming in , even then its better to take fixed damage reduction food as its more efficent on the diminishing returns , 2.5k>3.5 armour is ok for background damage but in pvp against HOT you will get baked in your armour -waste of time.
If you take smash brawler switch discipline for strength.
if you have a wvw guild ask them to give you some tips.

+warrior healing is balance to the condi upgrade, warriors favour toughness over almost any class, so got hit the hardest. Pre the adrenal health upgrade they class was almost empty in WVW now its averagely represented. The argument about berserker skills being op is true, but that goes for almost any hots.
The thief warrior trolling & cries for nerf have been going on since the start.
1v1 you have to fancy the thief, what seems to annoy people was they get used to a 95% chance of win, then salt when it gets to 75%. Seems fair.

I know thieves who still prefer fighting warriors as the stances are shorter than boons and the cd so long they kite and kill them, this takes longer than they like given the healing , but the win is always there.
Switch to zerg/skirmish and it’s the other way round. Seems Fair.

-the nonsense about ‘skill caps’ which profession is better, is subjective drivel.

+ I don’t think resistance is the counter to the condi upgrade its been about for ages its just been tweaked to cycle to counter the spam, not the +stacks. and now everyone is on durability snooze. which doesn’t exactly encourage build diversity

I don’t think this is a bad thread, although I don’t agree with alot of it. Condi has increased and there has been no balance most noticeably runes after the removal of the cap, Melandru decreased in price although its the counter…..
we’ve got 4 stat armor although its not included and boons are crazy?
the passive active argument is fine, you have to cleanse its a skilled part of the game, anyone that only has utility cleanse in wvw is bs’itting you need loads of passive and active or you are dead, we’ve all re built. people are salty they don’t like it.
I think the sigils and runes need to catch up ,
I like the damage per tick part of wvw , its part of the fun but there needs to be risk reward, although it accumulates over time as opposed to direct damage the castor can disengage. Add in the fact that alot of condi is done at range it leads to a fair amount of standoffs/choke points. a few on hit or on critical rune cleanses would help this, the sigils are one (+random) and the cd’s to long to be useful given the condi spammin in wvw

I’d like to see some better rune protection, -20% duration? its the 10 stacks * 4 conditions that kill me, I’m not going to get to 80% of the time…
I’d also like to see sanctuary get some love, stabs a massive issue aswell, <20% to trigger? u are dead but immovable…..?
not sure I buy the vitality stuff, its about cleanse, and taking alot of it again you can’t outlive a cooldown if you are lit up like a xmas tree no matter how fat you are. as long as you sacrifice something for condi mitigation I don’t see why it shouldn’t be included.
let people choose.

marauder gear is great, you can’t really asc armour build for zerg, skirmish and roam.
they are different unless you are going to build 3 sets. Marauder is the best all round, then change the stats with your weapon selection and possibly trinkets if you have enough laurels. Likewise traits will help you out.
zerg: defense GS,shield +mace mix in some soldier + knight and condi clear utilities
skirmish; defense, rifle,gs mix in some berserker + valkerie and all the might you can
roam, discipline hammer mix in some berseker + assassin and offense/stuns etc.

marauder + durability runes are probably meta, I personally prefer a more defensive armour set with strength runes but that will pin you to gs and zerg.

its great in wvw, the butt is useful stopping stomps and the extra dodge helps alot if you are fishballing. The dps isn’t super high but then ranged shouldn’t be .

theres plenty of skills that hit as hard as arc divider, but if its balance then the warrior must take berserker, burst recharge, gs and defense to get the benefits that are ‘op’. specialist builds exist for variety. and on every class “I got hit with 15K burst its not fair” doesn’t hold any weight. the nerfs should cap skills like all hot stuff, but if 80% of people who take it are comparable to other professions don’t nerf the skill. look at it in the round and compare to other specialist builds. Warrior has a low skill cap apparently because it doesn’t skill rotate as much? so seems to get calls for nerf by every man woman and goat … warrior is about timing even the stances don’t get alot of rune of durability like other classes.

post adrenal health I’ve seen a fair number of guardians try warrior, some have stuck with it most have not. the burst skill is nice, but guards have 3 fkey boons on tap which they can recharge with their elite (+invuln), giving them 6 on demand fkeys as opposed to charging adrenaline then firing up the xmas tree. It hits hard but that’s not a reason to nerf, if it’s about balance.

if you’re new signets work fine or mix it up.

power or condi? without zerker I’d guess power, which suggests gs + might spamming (strength), you have to take defense these days, which leaves you discipline (offense) or tactics ( defense) arms is dual wield and dead as a dodo.
if you work in a team and go for might phalanx strength is great. If you prefer pvp type match up its all discipline from weapon swap to speed to quickness and hammer (pvpvpvpvpvpvp)

not sure I agree, condi cleanse is very effective an can be pushed at almost any time , in large scale fights depending on your cleanse you may wait for 3 different ones to accumulate. Direct damage, dodge block is all pre-emptive and more difficult to manage bar ‘toughness’ which post elite isn’t that effective. Post condi uncap I’d like to see it manageble, so the largest damage on the left (with number of ticks) and then the next and so on, so you can easily see whats happening, and and cleanse is applied to the first/largest- to balance it out. In wvw stability and boon sharing I believe are more significant issues.

its no worse than executioner’s scythe or daredevil vault. Alot of skills are op, gunflame needs adrenaline build up and telegraphs. gunflames already been double nerfed by reducing damage and adding cast time.

we’re outnumbered alot and its camps first be nice for the larger numbers to split their resources to guard multiple camps/give us a chance to sneak a couple.

You can only claim one thing at a time but if you take SM with zerg then you should have the choice. There aren’t enough incentives to tag.

lower tier servers have lost their identity and ability to recruit sensibly , like the rest of these they are easy fixes that don’t affect game balance.

I’ve unlocked three elites have all the siege I can use, this is about long term goals. Which don’t exist.

some I’d like to see:

If you are outnumbered then the cross swords flag would be disabled for your side. Rather than getting zerg stomped 25vs 5, it would switch the game to a more hunter seeker mode giving the smaller server something to play for.

Tag incentive, if you tag you get first dibs on guild claim objectives. Not enough tags play.

Server chat, not map or cross servers, but so we can recruit and talk to old time friends.

Wvw tokens that don’t just by siege, have loads of both need some wvw armour/weapons /guild upgrades/something to aim for. Be nice if it was wvw specific maybe you could have your own coat of arms so if you took an objective it showed your guild and under your flag.. even if it was a pre defined customisable pennant (stripes/colours etc)

ask in your guild, you need to specify what game type, what armour +weps you have and your skill level/experience. If you are new new its easier over team speak.
if you are googling, burst and andrenaline are worth looking up on offense. Stances and the defense trait line for defense, or passives if you are new (signets). Adrenaline + burst are build up, so warrior is about timing rather than skill rotation, your position (how much damage you take/give) is very important . Warrior is a a fairly straightforward prof to play , but alot of fun to master.

I think Anet have a done a good job of explaining the issue, rather than pretending it all works. good job.
Can you incentivise large servers to switch? unlikley but you could try a number of things
approach one of the large guilds and offer them something for a whole sale move. -guildhall bits and pieces or …..name it after them and watch them bite your hand off.
or you could be tough love and reduce the map cap.
Can you stop bandwagoning? reduce the number of changes per account to one change every 4 weeks, with no more than two servers per account.
will it be better? only if you allow servers some sort of identity.
will it balance? dunno having alot of smaller servers working together sounds like cats in a bag. I think it will reduce mega blobs as it wont be as co-ordinated but thats opinion.
