Kinda saw stuff like this coming when the game released and was my biggest concern about GW2. The dynamic events were a awesome idea, and a lot of fun…but regardless of how popular a game is, or hyped, it eventually dies down…and what happens to these events that require a large amount of players to complete? They get left undone and newer players suffer…
“inb4” “Join a guild and bug them to come help you do it”…While we’re at it why dont we spam gaming sites and forums to come as well? lol cus thats about as logical as that is…Hopefully theyll eventually add a decent party finder so those who want to group up for orr can gather and run it together
Their answer was to lock down the majority of servers as “full” for weeks lol…we finally bugged em into unlocking em for a bit, well see how that goes
its been what 4 months since release…ya u got a while still bub, take a breather and give em time to fix the bajillion of bugs still in the game before they throw a bunch more at us =/
Go to the TP and buy a Feathered set /vestment-gloves etc, at least on the sylvari, since i havent tested on other races (female) its pretty skimpy, currently using it via transmutes on my pre-80 ele…Also the blue version is lvl 75/ green is 80…So you can use normal transmutes via the blues
Well people who tell u u will regret it are just mad over small things, the games not bad its just not exactly what they expected…anyways there is no specific healing/support class since all classes have supportive builds.
Ele/Engineer/ and guardian are considered more supportive since they have a few more ways to heal others. All have beefy/heal builds… I’d recommend guardian for what u were asking for
…are u trying to talk about Spvp…because thats completely off for wvw lol…Staff ele/Rangers/Necros play much bigger parts then anything u mentioned, as well as guardians…Only thing mesmer is good for in wvw are portals
So instead of addressing the issue in Wvw of why players log out/alt+F4 (which is broken armor having no place in pvp and causing players to play excessively safe) You are implementing a auto death that not only will make sure current players who use the work around for a bad system never play wvw again, but also hurts players who may have internet issues and DC…Good one…If u simply removed dmg armor on death in wvw that wouldve solved the issue in a nutshell…but glad ur trying to kill pvp even more so ^.^ claps
idk, i dont see why people hate on the HolyTrinty…I do miss playing a healer or at least having a decent aoe heal stares at ele water heals. ya im talking about u…those heals dont even tickle!

Hoping they release the Monk profession, maybe with some better aoe healing options, but im not very familar with the monk mechanics of GW1 so idk
By what you say u like doing id suggest Necro…A condition dmg spec necro can do decent aoe/ works well in zergs in Wvw, and is capable of 1v1’ing (though its generally not their strongest area)
I prefer Scepter/Focus (or Dagger) with staff secondary, Only downside is the best pve spec is minion master, but necro minion Ai is pretty much garage as of right now and no idea when itll be fixed .-.
Downside- Necros are generally not wanted in dungeons because of Condition dmg caps/ and minions get 1 shotted by just about anything.
Sad part is the servers are no where near capacity (unless Anet downgraded their servers since release)…its just a ploy to stop WvW abuse, but in the end it generally just hurts players =/ Just require the wait period to be 30 days and u wouldnt have issues with people bandwagoning to winning Wvw servers, but who knows maybe they had to reduce serve strength due to cost and its not a giant conspiracy XD
We’ll I do have some issues here and there about GW2, I wouldn’t say its not “fun”. I had a blast playing with friends, leveling my first 80. There isn’t a game to date that lasts forever in entertainment…of course after your 3rd or 4th max character, and 50th dungeon run things begin to get stale, and you have to ask yourself do you want to play less? Find different things to try and do? Or find another game to play till additional content is released.
Coming on forums 4-5 months after release going “games no fun no more guys, Anet sucks” doesn’t really do much. It doesn’t provide any feedback for players or the company, and it doesn’t solve your issue where as you’re not having fun.
Pretty sure servers were edited because none of them read “full” during first week of full release when this game was at its peak popularity wise…But a lot of players are migrating to other servers to find more people to play with…to stop this they are forcing players to be unable to join some servers…idk their exact math but its kinda annoying =/
when you are done creating your character, there’s a good chance it will not look the same ingame.

Dont look at the actual content in forum posts, because generally there is rarely a need to post things on a game forum other then when ur upset about something. General questions will usually get answered in game, and just like real life Good news isnt real news…
What you should look at is the mass amount of posts on forums…What I have learned from my mmo experience is if a forum is dead, the games most likely dead as well…if a forum page has the same posts from the same users for weeks on end on the front page then theres something wrong lol
Most ele builds already have 2 + stuns or knockdowns…add in weapon swapping and you’re talking about ele’s with 3-4+ stuns/knockdowns in their builds >.> ya that wont be OP one bit…well at least if they added that people would stop complaining about thieves lol
So you’re mad because developers, after making hours and hours of game content that’s completely soloable, created specific content for groups…I’m sorry this is just pure stupidity. This is a mmorpg, if this is your first then I believe this just might not be the genre of gaming for you. What the majority of mmo players want, especially for late game gameplay is group content such as dungeons and/or raids…World bosses are another great example…Whats next? Do you want the event boss dragons to be soloable?…Seriously just go play Skyrim and ask a friend to sit in the room with you…there u now have a “LIVE” world with complete solo content…

Ive been trying to find a server that didnt feel empty (outside of LA)…Where I actually could find guilds recruiting…(not gonna name which servers Ive tried so far I dont want “blah blah X server is so full of people” if u love ur server thats cool…just not the point of the thread…
So all servers either read full or heavy…And I just highly doubt that many servers are actually “full”…It makes me wonder if they simply got tired of people migrating to busier servers or they intentially nerfed their server capabilities…because even during first week of full release I dont remember all the servers being this full, and back then each zone just felt so populated
Side note: any recommended servers for pure population? I couldn’t care less about wvw standings, just looking for people to play with.
No thanks, just because a game is pay to play doesnt make it better or more widely liked…Rift and Warhammer are good examples of that…While games like Aion are as polished as they were when they were p2p as f2p models (not saying a like it wasnt a good game before or now) but it didnt lose anything
Depends, In pve yeah pretty much its Fire all day…But each attunement has a lot of benefits in spvp and wvw…for example in spvp during team fights I generally use a speed burst from lighting then aoe stun the point, switch to fire and drop meteor + 2, and 3…Then switch to earth and Drop 4, then 2 and try to snare a squishy with 5…after that I go to water and drop the slow + both heals, then its back to fire to burst down whatsever left….Only thing is in Pve u just dont really need all that

Too many issues with Spvp to actually enjoy it for long periods of time…Eventually it may become actually entertaining…but for now I do it here and there…Maybe if we got real xp in Spvp to level up our alts…That at least would give me a real reason to play it other then fashion, just a thought
Pretty sure everyone has already realized this wont become a E-sport and learned to either play the game for fun or ignore pvp lol, and yes we know Thief burst is pretty broken but you cant really compare dmg in wvw if ur not an actual lvl 80, as stat boosts arnt the same as the real thing…Generally I have 1k+ in each stat on my real 80s then my lower lvls and a lot more hp
I thought this was going to be a backstab theif thread O.O, 100b as a skill is fine and doesnt 1 shot you…Quickness/Haste/Zeph abilities are generally the issue that most players have hence why I suggested they be removed…Honestly though if ur being killed by a 100b without Quickness instantly ur build is pretty horrible =/ at most a full 100b does about 10-15k on a 2k Armor char, while even on ele i can get 2k armor and 20k hp…thief u can get 18-20k pretty easily as well…Maybe invest a bit more in vit…specially seeing how warriors are 1 of the least wanted classes in Tpvp
S/D is viable too lol so not every ele is a DD =p
Actually staff has a pretty high dmg rate, so power/prec is viable…The issue I find is your main atk source is fire…the 1 skill can do upwards to 2k crits on heavy armors…but fire has no CC…and switching out to say earth to snare them, then water to slow them…generally still has a decently long CD before u can switch BACK into fire to dps them…what generally happens is ur either Long cast animations or lack luster CC with the staff gets you killed quickly…Now in large team fights I find staff amazing …everyone wants to fight on the cap point so its fairly easy to catch them in ur 2 ability+5 aoe then switch to ice and aoe cripple/ and earth to aoe cripple+bleed…also its great when u instant gibb all the mesmers clones and necro minions for ur team… but like i said its just really hard with a staff for 1v1 or when ur focused
I’m actually surprised this hasn’t been addressed as of yet. My 2nd 80 was a warrior, and after a lot of testing and playing around in Spvp (mostly pug games since Tpvp is all about dat bunker builds) I just Found 1h Axe+ shield a deadly combo…I mean it has Faster atk speed then 1h swords + the highest dmg per hit then any weapon…that right there I find confusing, fastest atk+ highest dmg, odd.
I tried glass cannon 100b specs and idk I simply found that build too confining…while I could build a slightly tankier warrior, still bring zerk and burst down people just as fast with 1h axe 1 atks + F1 ability (which can hit for 5k+ on heavys)
Idk just the 1h axe/ shield combo is so easy to get 28k-30k hp/2600+ armor/ and still around 3k power/40% crit chance/50%+ crit dmg…and do around 1300-1900 crits per 1 skill…Yet from other classes – Players I only find complaints about 100b…1h Axe doesnt root you and provides a offhand (shield gives a closer/stun+ block so imo is the best offhand)
So Is axe dmg on warriors a bit off atm? should it be edited or are there bigger issues to resolve first…Also why arn’t there more 1h axe warriors (other then it’s not very useful in Tpvp)

Quickness/Haste/Frenzy I believe is the main issue most players have with certain classes. One of the largest complaints I see on forums is X class burst me down in Y seconds, and usually its due to a burst build using a speed steroid such as warriors with frenzy+ 100b or the general burst of a thief with quickness.
I believe with the removal of these skills some classes that actually could use buffs in their burst capability could receive them, and Thieves could receive less hate, and nerfs. (Though even with this removal back stab will still be a huge controversial subject of hate)
This is just my opinion and a suggestion, feel free to post thoughts on the subject.

Well most likely OP has obtained spyware or a Keyreader from a site or other form of action…I highly doubt they force hacked their way into both his specific email/Then into GW2 then AGAIN into both…
On a lighter side GW2 should be able to see EXACTLY where the gold from his account was sent to…even if only to ban the hackers account…Kinda sad theyre even unwilling to do this. Even companies like PWI go to this extent to block/ban exploiters-hackers from ruining communities…
Due to the loading screen bug when rezzing after death in Spvp…
So goin on what 3 months since this was reported…Done with pvp…keep trying, ignoring the balance issues…but common…Guess ill see what I can find to entertain me in pve…but after 2 80’s and a 60+ and a few dozen 2X’s…not much I havent done lol…Guild wars is a more Pvp oriented game…yet Pvp is broken…weeeeee
Hmm not sure, will try some P/D later to test it out, it did look a lot like unload but it was staacking bleeds (which makes me think it wasnt since unload doesnt proct bleed) just was very odd seeing a thief go in and out of invis about 20 times in under 3 mins =/
basically distortion …sept instead of not targetable theyre invuln…we has that…and its on the purple clone thief class…i mean mesmer
I have yet to have a issue with thieves due to this combo…nor have i yet tanked anything about 7-8k from it…dunno how people are taking 10k back stabs-15k and 7-9k steals…1k armor?…not wearing shoes? idk
My issue with thief is the stealth spam, and get out of jail free cards…their dmg matches their squishyness…but when u add all the in combat stealths to the dmg, its just begging for people to call the class out on the stupid design
Honestly I hate in combat invis on any class, in any game…its beyond silly unless restricted to major CD…When u look at thieves/assasins/rogues in other games they all follow a simple concept…Stealth- sneak into a fight and choose ur target, assasinate them…but once theyre in the fight and out of stealth…thats it, there is no "well whoops I messed up let me press 5 and invis again…ok now let me invis again…and again…Low CD stealth abilities = bad design…sorry its how it is
-Side note, this was in Spvp, not Wvw so it wasnt a “everyone is invis bug”
So ive fought a lot of thieves, and I know they have multiple ways to go invis such as
-blinding Powder (invis+blind) utility skill/ Decent CD
-Aoe Invis, Long CD
-5 Skill on Dagger, short CD where target is invuln to the effect
…other then that I dont know of any other thief invis, well Just fought one where he was using Dual pistols and was attacking, invising, attacking, invising, attacking invising….this literally went on for about 2-3 mins while he killed us 2v1…I know he used blinding powder once but other then that how does a thief spam invis? new glitch? Hopefully it can be looked into =/
Neither is true because no one beats anyone 100% of the time…Though as a condition shortbow ranger Thieves are generally the first class I focus down due to their squishyness, while Mesmers are still the ones giving me the most trouble, as well as warriors and guardian (bunker builds)
Agreed, and a lot of pet attacks on top of having a delay in response have charge up times such as the “howls” or “screeches” …so u press F2…wait 2-3 seconds, then 2-3 seconds on charge up…and mobs dead before ur pet casts or player has dodged outta range lol…as is pet skills are near useless and is one issue i hope theyre working on
Honestly im finding less and less issue with thief burst…, the only issue i ever have with a thief is HS spam…mainly for the fact it negates all CC u can throw to escape, while any other class would be countered by said CC… I dont believe 1 class should have a perma closer, and should have a 3 sec CD added to it per use…but this is just my opinion
Meh I dont see GW becoming a Esport for a very very long time =/ slow bug fixes/ slow balance fixes (if any) / just too much to fix and not much being done at a good pace…Maybe early 2014 lol…
Seriously, atm you’re basically just punishing the players doing well for the other team having a rage quitter…
Know what happens in games like CoD/LoL, etc when someone leaves? The one leaving takes some form of a punishment (I.E. A automatic loss or a chance to be reported) even in WoW you become unable to play battlegrounds for X amount of time because you left ur last match…
I honestly can’t see this becoming a E-sport with such a bad concept.
So havent played in weeks because of this and spvp being one of the only things ive been doing lately (after ur 3rd 80 pve gets a bit boring and wvw has been boring since day 1 to me…just seems pointless)
But nope cant even get a good match in spvp without problems it seems…thought id hop on today and get a few games in before going out…first match went a good while before finally dying to end up with a endless load screen…waste of time =/ this issue was reported over a month ago if not longer ( i know i reported it over a month ago, believe others did even before me)
The best way for them to implement it is to:
1) Make it so that if you didn’t buy the expansion, you still are stuck at lvl 80
2) No upscaling after lvl 80 in WvW
3) Better gear, multiply all stats by 3 at least.Or not.
This right there will be a major issue… player A: has expansion, is now lvl 100 (example lvl) has level 100 ascended gear, player B: is level 80, doesnt want to buy a expansion, has lvl 80 ascended gear, is up leveled in Wvw…and is now at a huge disadvantage vs Player A: and others like him…paying for power would kill this game pretty fast…That was one thing they really did well in GW1, the added classes never had a OP feel compared to the original classes
I dont see the point of a higher lvl cap…I mean sure if the game released with 50 being the cap…I can understand…but as it stands it would take major tweaks to traits to allow for more points without just letting us max all the traits and removing any form of builds/tactics to the game =/
And would u really get more enjoyment from a game by being able to go from 80-85?…Im more interested in having more things to do at 80, then having to look forward to 1 more day of level grinding
