Hah hell no is it worth 50 bucks…no expansion should be that closely priced to the full games amount unless it releases as much content as the original game did…I’d be even ok at 39.99 on release, but as for me I won’t be purchasing it until it drops down to a sale price. I have no issues taking a Hiatus or playing vanilla GW till then. GW2 has had multiple sales after the first I think 6month + period and Im sure HoT will be the same…So I’ll wait for one of those “50% off deals” and pick it up at 25 bucks
I think this is a good idea. Tracks are time consuming to finish so it’s not like it would even be a true “short cut” And a lot of us utterly hate fractals :/ (Why the party finder for them are almost always empty other than maybe dailies)
Rangers getting staff as their next weapon, but Revs are the first to get a melee version…
This makes me assume that the ranger version will be range most sadly :/ And probably a rip from the guardian or ele version (probably rip 1 ability per attunement and change it slightly per 1-5)
Was kinda hoping for a nice cleave melee weap with maybe some support options to bring to parties. Maybe even a weaker version of vines for pvp

One this really should be in the guardian forums, where are are a ton of other posts already about this. Secondly it actually hits on a main aspect the guardian lacked…which was an actual long range weapon. Staff was short, scepter was mid range…The guardian fully lacked a truly long range weapon.
Still want the guardian to be in the front lines? Whats stopping you? GS/Hammer/Mace/ Staff are all still there, you can now even leap into combat with a heal. Just love mass complaints from people who haven’t even touched the content…
I made a somewhat similar plea to have the 4th dye slot which atm does nothing be used to alter the glow color. I think if it was something other than that almost neon orange it may look better, even helmetless :/ Hopefully they do something it’s by far my favorite outfit but the orange is hard to match dye wise or weapon wise…Heirloom isnt too bad with it, and blacks
Also with talking to people in game a lot admitted they would purchase it if the glow could be changed :/ so you know…revenue?
I do find it matches a bit with the Charr weapons, but do we really want everyone who wants to wear this outfit Grey and orange…
Idk since it’s an unused slot I would just think it could be an easy fix. Armor unlocks are always better but Anet loves outfits, so I won’t ask for that but yes please let us dye that glow Q.Q Other than the glow its one of my favorite outfits so far.
Yeah a little worried about being locked into 3 lines even if it gives 3 elites…but I’ll wait and see how it plays out. Maybe I can create an even better build that still keeps my dps up and who knows more survivability?
Yeah if F5 gives double elites among other things, it better have a super long CD to prevent abuse and skill spam :/ Mesmer is a fun class, dont need an OP ability that ends up getting it nerfed for another 2 years because of complaints lol 180 sec max I would say, 90 sec min
Does nothing :/ for a 700 gem item I would epic a little bit more…not much, but a little. I mean I would love if the orange glow could be toggled to be a different hue based on dye, but anything would be better than nothing. 4 dye options and 1 doing nothing is a bit lazy… and sadly this is almost un-checkable until you buy the item.
Well I just had an odd idea/question…Would the new expansion be added to the Gem store on release? Technically Arenanet will still be getting paid, since someone has to buy said Gems in the first place to be traded for gold, so it’s not like it would really reduce sales…at best it would increase them.

I plan on playing my Rev till at least 10-20 to get a feel for it, then poppin tomes like theyre going outta style…Given I only have a spare 20 atm, but I foresee that being at least double by the time it releases. (And if the expance is 50 bucks on release I’ll wait till a sale and save even more tomes lol)
Heres a idea…Stomp a downed player and stop trying to solo pew pew them then cry cause they heal up…
Banners for dungeons, Shouts for WvW or selfishness, especially with trooper runes (removes condi on you and near by allies when u use a shout) That + the trait that make shouts heals gives a good bit of sustain…when you add cleansing ire you basically never have condi’s -.-
S/S + LB, swords are condi weap so LB works best with them. Get rabid or Carrion (in pvp) or Dire in Pve (Though condi is pretty horrible in pve) It’s just not a power build. Closest youll get to dual swords and power builds is with Mesmer.
Queues are a massive plus though. I just hope it’s also for Spvp and not just Tpvp (which technically already had queues) Cause as it is spvp is such a troll fest of people sitting in spectate mode till they can join winning teams, making it never a actual even number fight :/ super boring and every other mmo I can think of uses a queue system.
A JP would be fun to have there though
Love whining when they use WvW to compare balance…when in fact theyre most likely running 80s in full exotic or even ascended and roaming, slaughtering people half that level “up-leveled”

To OP the difference in the skills you are trying to compare is one can be done via stealth which is one of the best defensive abilities in game, while the other can be done via range where you can still be targetted/CC’ed, and fully viewed making it easy to figure out when you should dodge/block/reflect.
This goes back to old school zerk warriors who use to run 100 blades + bull rush combos…same people complaining about it and its working as intended, with multiple counters.
Find it funny no one complains about the instant 10 stacks of invuln and only whines about the dmg lol (with traits you can bump it up to 20 stacks with opening strikes lol)
Def a heavy armor class to even things out. Was thinking Swordsman or Lancer…preferably lancers
So there’s a bunch of achievements and a armor set that can be obtained for those who own the original GW games (Think you need at least the base + 2 expansions) But does the steam versions work for this still? Like are you able to still link that account or get a code to use on GW2. Ask because the triology is on sale atm on steam.
I actually tried this with a Zerk build before the buffs, and it wasn’t terrible with Axe/Horn+LB. In 1v1 it pretty much couldn’t hold its own well, and it failed at roaming, but as a form of artillery, and team rear support it was decent. Sprint for movement, Fury for increased crit, chill for CC and LB for range dmg…The only thing that did not synergize well was Axe 2. After the buffs I could see it being even more useful in this format but most will still stick to Sword/Dagger for the mobility for SPvp. These feel more like Pve buffs if anything

Go try out some other games like NW online…I like the DnD setting but dang does that game make me miss GW2 dungeons where you could actually dodge dmg and bosses had learning curves…not 500 adds who 1-3 shot anyone not a tank Q.Q
Though I was never a fan of the down system the dungeon difficutly in GW2 was pretty fun.
the “LFG” option isnt actually viable. It’s pretty useless in its current state so everyone uses gw2lfg.com instead. I’m hoping for a better in game solution by Anet eventually. Cause ya know alt tab is serious business and im lazy
Can only agree on the Pvp aspect, but in Anets defense they are working on improving aspects of their game, unlike a lot of other mmos which take in all the player feedback and do absolutely nothing.
It will overwrite it. You get a similar effect when using a shield on other classes. Though not every back item overwrites it, for example GS and bows.
Also you can always turn off the display effect of back items just like helms.
Yep can tell your condition duration is low, also without specific skills to raise vulnerability its hard to gain stacks. Both traits and runes fail at it and are used mostly for keeping stacks from refreshing.
I.E. a warrior pops “on my target” for 10 stacks of vuln, can now auto attack keeping it around 10 stacks until the skill refreshes. You will never get 25 stacks with those items/traits alone.
Doesn’t matter what we want, It’s Anet’s game, and they have already stated there WILL be a level cap raise eventually. I for one found a lvl 80 cap on release odd, but meh oh well.

its like any other cosmetic from the store its a one time use item that replaces the look of ur current item. You will need transmute items if u wish to have another item have the same look.
For example If i use the backpack on my current back i will have to transmute it when i get my ascended backpack finished…hope that clears things up.

Honestly I wish they would add farming zones…Maybe a mine where u could spend hours simply worrying about farming ore, or a Farm for vegetation.

Thing I don’t understand is don’t people understand you don’t have to do high level fractals?
At level 10 you receive the daily for rings, and the loot is not that much greater at 20/30 to the point it becomes a “must do to compete”…So why not let the players who are hard core do their more difficult fractals while u simply farm fotm 10 + daily and obtain the same items in the same amount of time as them?
Depends on what they offer in the first expansion…classes? races? new zones? new things to do in pvp? something thats just fun like mounts?
Also pricing…dont think ill buy one at 59.99, maybe 39.99.

Multiple reasons, someone already posted the straight math in a earlier post, but what they didnt post was the fact that most users who run MF gear don’t even bother using exotics for that. Because MF on Greens/yellows are the exact same amount that are on exotics the users tend to lean towards the cheaper greens.
So now you have a user with lower stats due to gear+ lower stats due to MF gear type in ur party…theyre basically useless and mooching, and the community does not approve. =/
The main use of MF gear are for users who want to go out into the field and farm mobs, which is why MF only effects monster drops. So please don’t bring it into dungeons.
Nope guild wars 2 cant die, it only becomes the Risen. Side note why do people check 1 map, on 1 server, and then assume a game is dead? I havent been able to go to LA without being put in overflow…ever…Heck lil over a week ago I got shoved into overflow on TC/ Divinity Reach…That was a wth moment lol.

Few reasons 1: People like to complain, 2: People like to complain when they know something is broken and don’t want it to be fixed or balanced, 3: It’s the internet and people like to complain on the internet.
Honestly I wonder sometimes if players have ever played a mmorpg before. All mmos are seperated by “zones”…Some games do have larger maps but for example you arnt going to have some army attacking from Outlands in WoW to the human main city.
How exactly do portals ruin exploration? I’ve seen mulitple users post this and it makes no sense…You have to find the portal (aka walk there) to unlock it, and with the lack of mounts I for one wouldn’t want to walk to every location in the world. Also again all large scale mmos have a form of portal/recall/travel route form of fast travel…its a convenience so you dont have to spend a hour getting to a quest area which would make no sense…
I dont think players are technically having a problem with mesmers as a class…I think they have a issue with Portal, which Anet has already announced theyre having issues with. But I dont believe giving the ability to other classes really solves the problem for Spvp…honestly Some skills shouldnt be useable in Spvp and Portal is one of them.
Imo I say leave it as is with mesmer being the only class with it, its great for some dungeons when u have a member fall, or cant get past a jumping puzzle…also great for wvw…but remove it in Spvp
Also I dont think people understand what toughness even does, or how armor works.
Every + toughness adds to total armor (not actually sure the exact amount I know its not a 1:1 ratio though) armor adds 1% dmg reduction every 100…
So 2k armor gives a 20% dmg reduction (basic glass cannon build) while 3k armor gives about 30% dmg reduction (average beefy dps build) [generally bunkers have around 3500 armor]
So what you’re telling hims is that 10% more dmg reduction would completely fix 27k dmg…cus im pretty sure it would only turn it into 24.3k which for most classes even build tanky that equals dead…
But no please keep replying with “omg newb u is so bad glass cannon build toughness” We got a balanced game over here guys move along >.> no editing required during the first year of release
So thought id jump in some wvw on a alt to get some easy xp, noticed 3 players trying to down a thief so I thought id give them a hand…got him low a few times and of course with culling + the near 0 Cooldown on stealth he easily popped in and out of combat non stop to the point most of us finally just said forget it…
On top of that it actually has pretty decent dmg…so lets see…stealth spam + good dmg + good survivability…Nope dont see a problem with that at all…
I realize a large part of this is a culling bug…but I think the biggest issue is the stealth CD starts immediately as u stealth meaning for a P/D thief all u have to do is hit 5, wait till CD is up, hit 1…rinse repeat…u have have perma stealth and enough initiative since this combo cost nearly none with the correct traits to spam this infinitely…
Please dont come here posting " this build is useless in large conflicts" no build is broken when its 50 vs 50…thats a no brainer…but in small conflicts which happen a lot its beyond broken and needs addressing…not even bothering with pvp till its addressed whats the point >.>’’ seriously last few Spvp matches ive done had 6-8 thieves per team lol
