[ ] Change the skin and refund those that don’t like it.
[ ] Change the skin but let ppl choose old or new.
[X] Change the skin but let ppl that used it on human T3 to keep old one.
[ ] Keep the skin and change the other two sets to T3 skins.
[ ] Make three new sets making three T3 sets and three normal.
It is a big issue for those who transmuted T3s, all things considered. And pretty annoying how the solution for a perceived problem (“I am no longer exclusive!”; “I paid more for my T3!”) causes REAL, not just perceived, trouble to others.
Exactly the problem.
I bought it with gems because I loved the look-I think it’s outrageous if I don’t get to keep what I paid for. If Anet released it for purchase why should I get less than what I legitimately paid for? They should honor any purchases and redesign for the store. Its not like hundreds of thousands of these outfits are out there-I don’t see anyone else in LA wearing it.
Agreed.
I see very few on my server.
Have you no concern for the affected? The problem is not your fictional “exclusivity” (I actually agree in that I don’t think Flamekissed should have been T3 model-based in the first place), but that the current solution is a)a bait and switch and b)players will lose the look of their old armor, even those Human characters who transmuted their previous, REAL T3.
This doesn’t concern me, but it’s obvious when something is wrong, and you don’t wrong people to appease other people who only think they’ve been wronged, but never actually were. This forum-pleasing solution is much worse than the perceived problem in the first place.
Again-restore pre-skinned armors, along with refund. Nothing else would work, and I myself would consider stopping playing if a Support representative told me I was only going to be given a gem refund, especially if I trashed my expensive T3 skin in the process of getting this “new” skin.
So agree.
THANK YOU for your post.
People using gem armor skins covering their Tier 3 is beyond my imagination.
Do people actually do that?
It takes an entire month to craft a full set of cellestial armor. It was just easier to overwrite the existing tier 3 skin that was applied to the celestial armor.
i will never pay again money for gems to get items which will be patched away couse some random ppl flaming around. if you didn’t like it don’t buy it.
Feeling the same way.
I just don’t trust the company now.
This is REALLY bad business practice.
There are already at least three human players who had bought human light T3 as a skin for their exotic armor and then used the flamekissed skin as an upgrade who will be losing their 120 gold T3 armor completely.
Makes me wonder who got the worse end of the stick here… those “kicked in the face” or those out 120+ gold and their armor.
Count me as another person that is going to lose t3 cultural human armor.
The issue is that not only do some players lose the skin they paid for in gems, but they also lose the armor skin they overwrote (in some instances human t3 armor) that they paid a significant amount of gold for.
This REALLY is not fair.
No, it is not fair.
However, it is just as unfair for any none human that overwrote their skin. Cultural or not.
It would not be fair to only let humans keep the skin and say: To bad! to the Azura, Char, Norn and Sylvari players, that also overwrote their cultural armor or other skins for Flamekissed.
I don’t see how only letting humans keep the new Flamekissed would make it any more fair. Quite the opposite actually.
I think you make a fair point.
I agree. Let anyone that currently has applied the skin keep it. There can’t be that many.

First people go up in arms about that skin and now they are unhappy when something is done about it.
Keep in mind that the skin costs roughly the equivalent of $10.00 US Dollars. Where as the Tier 3 Human Light Cultural Armor costs in the realm of $18.59 US Dollars (give or take a few dollars depending on market fluctuations on each server).
That means that each of these people who bought the Tier 3 Cultural Armor, and applied the Light Armor Flame Skin to their Tier 3 Cultural Armor are effectively losing around 8.59 US Dollars because of the change. Even though without the change they had effectively gained a new appearance for the Tier 3 Armor that they originally bought, and additionally could arguably have gotten access to their level 80 Tier 3 Cultural Armor at a much lower and earlier level for a great deal cheaper than they would have otherwise have been required to do.
In effect this is going to require anyone with a human character who had previously shelled out money for their Tier 3 Armor (roughly 18 dollars give or take), and who then shelled out money for this skin to apply to their Tier 3 Armor, to once again shell out money for a new set of Tier 3 Armor, assuming that they want their Tier 3 Armor back at all.
This isn’t even counting Transmutation Crystals that would be required to give the Tier 3 Armor in question the stats that the individual in question wants, which would also have to be purchased and which would be an additional investment if this happens.
In short for those with TLDR issues… I can honestly see where the people who are complaining about the change to the Light Flame Skin are coming from, and if I had a level 80 Human whom I had applied this skin to the cultural armor for, I would be a bit peeved as well.
This post sums up the issue.
Please consider allowing human characters to keep the new fame skin.

PERFECTLY sums up the issue.
THANK YOU!!!
I say the folks who got the skin removed now need to compensate those completely kittened by it’s removal if said people do NOT like the new flamekissed skin. It’s only fair – I’ve heard complaint after complaint of how 800 gem armor made their work for 120 gold worthless and read countless threads about “doing the math”.
Well, your complaints cost some people 120 gold or more. No, not everyone knew that was T3 armor and “controversial” – I didn’t realize until I came to the forums. I held off buying because of the very vocal crap on the forums. Others? Not so lucky. So now, I know of five people completely kittened because they bought exotic armor, earned the gold to buy human T3 light, transmuted it for the skin and then transmuted it to flamekissed yesterday… and now Anet won’t fix that. Is it their fault? Do they deserve to be out that gold and have to earn it all over again?
Please tell me how much gold all of you complaining lost out on because flamekissed existed for 24 hours.
THANK YOU!!!
This, this, this!!!!
an upgrade? since when putting some flashes is considered an upgrade?
You might not consider it an upgrade but some others might… I can see this armor set being particularly popular for human female elementalists for example.
Exactly. That’s why I overwrote my t3. I figured it was the same look only better, and I wouldn’t use the t3 anymore.
If I would have known that they were going to take it away from me I wouldn’t have done it.
I know I am not alone.
The uproar is about nonhumans being able to keep the flame skin. There are many of us with human characters that applied the new flame skin to our existing human T3 armor. With the new change not only will we be losing out on the skin we purchased with gems, but we will also lose the T3 armor skin that we purchased with gold.
The solution is simple, allow human characters that have already applied the new flame skin to keep that skin.
Please consider this.

Human characters that applied the armor skin should be allowed to keep the original skin as purchased. I overwrote my T3 legs because the were basically the same armor. Now I’m out that gold.
Give elemental attunement boons on swap to self naturally, make the trait give these boons to nearby allies. Tadam!
I would also add an increase duration to boons on the trait in addition to sharing. Make it a 2 second increase.
I agree with you. But there are more things eles need to be improved specially the attunement CD and staff skills which are slow and can’t help eles to sustain themselves.
Not getting an argument from me on those points. All ele’s should have a base 10 second attunement cool-down without having to invest a single point.
You could then swap out attunement recharge rate for reduction of condition duration. A 30 point investment in arcane would yield a 30% flat reduction in condition duration.
Just a thought.
As a staff ele what I would really like is 1500 range, at least on all of our #5 staff skills.
This would really improve our survivability, as well as utility.
Staff #5 Skills:
Fire: Meteor Shower
Air: Static Discharge
Water: Healing Rain
Earth: Shock wave
Yes, I would love 1500 range for all staff skill, but I think this minor change would be a nice start, and would be far from overpowered.
I found the solution. I uninstalled the 3D Stereoscopic from Nvidia and it fixed the problem.
Thanks for your concern… I uninstalled the 3D Stereoscopic from Nvidia and it fixed the problem.
I have this exact same problem. Is there any solution?
I logged in today and all of a sudden my client is completely blurry with color wash. I’m not have any other issues with my graphics card, and my nvidia drivers are up to dat.
I recently upgraded my operating system to windows 8.1. Is it possible that this has something to do with it?
Thanks for any help!
@Devs: Can you reduce the GCD on attunement swaps to .5 secs or completely thanks!
Yes please!!!!!!
I’d rather have a longbow with 1500 range.
Giving this a bump.
Almost every single time there have been leaked patch notes they end up being being fairly close to spot on accurate.
I’ve been a doubter before, so I’m going to say: legit.
Ohhh… All professions are welcome.
Are you a veteran gamer that was once hardcore and played to crush, but years, jobs, and families have gotten in the way of your ability to game the way you used to? If the answer to that question is yes, then Triumph as One [TAO] may be the guild for you.
We are made up of adult veteran MMO gamers that have IRL responsibilities that take precedence over in-game activities, but we still maintain our love and passion for serious gaming. Our members have experience dating back to the infancy of the genre, playing virtually every single major title. As for GW2 experience, many of our members come from one of the most established and recognizable WvW guilds on the Tarnished Coast server that has since disbanded, and have been playing the game since pre-release.
Our WvW foucs includes but is not limited to supporting the militia, running small havoc groups, ninjaing towers/keeps, and camp flipping. That said, we also enjoy the other aspects of the game. Our leader, Ashalaah, is experienced running guild missions, and our members have cleared and have experience with every pve instance in the game. Moreover, we are avid theorycrafters, and spec tinkerers. Some of us have even partaken in a little RP. Yarrrrrrr!!!!!!
The most important thing to us, however, is that this game is about fun, and the people that we play with, and we want to ensure that our in-game experience is devoid of ego and drama. We play to relax, and unwind from our IRL responsibilities.
So the long of the short of it is that if you are looking for a mix of PVE/WvW in a social, friendly, mature guild made up of team players, and people that generally just want to have fun and enjoy the game consider [TAO]. We have no level or skill requirements.
Our website is http://triumphasone.enjin.com/ Feel free to post an introduction.
We also have a channel set up in the TC community mumble server if you ever would like to come in to chat about becoming one with [TAO].

Ok… what did I miss about the patch with respect to kits/weapons?
Thanks!
I just found that in wvw most of my healing comes from blasting water fields. I had almost full cleric’s before for a touch over 1,000 healing, and with base 300 healing I’m not noticing any reduction on my or my group’s survivability.
I just feel like elementalists are punished by having to spend some much gold to get that celestial/divinity gear. I’m just not willing to make that large of an investment for what may only be marginal improvement in performance.
In any event, thank you all for the input. I really appreciate it!
I agree vit isnt really needed. When on a staff I go more into damage than survivability. Also fiery GS is useless as a staff. With how powerful meteor storm/tornado is, there is no reason not to pick up tornado
You are 100% correct.
Swapped out.
I’m looking for some input as I’m trying to create a poor man’s version of the celestial/divinity build.
Here it is:
It is a balance of valk/knight’s/soldier’s
Here is the stat distribution:
Power: 1942 Attack: 3053
Precision: 1326 Crit: 29% Crit Damage: 45%
Toughness: 1590 Armor: 2510
Vitality: 1858 Health: 20225
Healing Power: 300
Here are the celestial/divinity build’s numbers in comparison:
Power: 1639 Attack: 2750
Precision: 1421 Crit 28% Crit damage: 70%
Toughness: 1636 Armor: 2556
Vitality: 1846 Health 20,105
Healing power: 795
Condition damage: 595
The biggest discrepancies are obviously the extra 25% crit damage, 595 condition damage, and 495 healing power.
My build has 300 more attack.
But in any event thoughts on this build would be really appreciated.

Constructive criticism isn’t complaining. Your trolling is offensive.
I would like to see three new maps:
One Green, one blue, one red.
Each home world should have an identity.
Keep the existing generic map as a stand alone, and make Citadel the map’s stone mist castle.
We need some new content in wvw just to keep it fresh.
Mag just fought JQ, we know how to T1. If I wake up and we’re not at +695 someone’s going over my knee and getting a paddle.
So who is getting a paddle?
I guess it is time to invest in bigger bags for my alts.
TC/FA/DB rematch.
I too like to draw conclusions about combat prowess based on a coverage/population metric
I’m glad I’m not alone.
See, Calvin, this is how you’re supposed to troll, by taking sarcastic comments seriously. You used to do this all the time, now you just say silly stuff about how good ME is and how bad everyone else is. I think you have been dethroned!!!!!!!!!!
Awww shucks…
Flattery will get you EVERYWHERE!!!

Just saw the score on this match-up.
Maguuma must be dominating the open field meta.
My only problem is that it’s not great against groups (when compared to my trusty FT or ’nades)
I respectfully disagree.
If you slot personal battering ram and trait into power wrench you are a crippling machine that hits like a truck. Plus you have better range with static discharge than you do with FT so you can kite.
This week’s thread is a refreshing change. My guild immediately missed the TC/FA matchup and the epic down to the wire three way battles we saw before the change in the match-up system.
When you equip the new Hellfire Vambraces and stealth there is a graphical error where you leave a wake of blocked distortion. I don’t have a video or screenshot, but the error reproduced itself on every stealth, and disappeared when I unequipped the gloves.
Same issue happens with the Hellfire Vambraces. At first I thought my video card was the issue.
I miss Shadowbane.
Nobody asked for a GvG, you walked up and dropped a rock. They either fought or you got a new city.
That game was so Man-Mode that even the chicks had balls.
I had BY FAR the most fun in Shadowbane that I have ever had playing a MMO.
Nothing better than seeing some joker smack talking on the forums during the day and then come home and literally destroy the entire fortress city of the guild they belong to.
Just so you know, rifle is never good damage. Its useful in any power build but don’t expect to be blowing anyone away with it.
I respectfully disagree.
Completely.
Fun fights in DBBL holding our spawn tower for what was much longer than we should have. We simply ran out of supply and eventually got overrun.
Props to TSL Commander Laorian Ashburn for leading the defense.
Good times.
Really tough fights in TCBL tonight. TC…. I don’t even know what to do about the superior scouting on your server. It is 100% unrivaled by any other server. I can get bags all night but ill be kitten ed if I ever just take an easy tower. You guys have a system and you implement it flawlessly and that takes skill. Its really cool to have seen how much you guys have grown over time. (I was an ICoa commander on blackgate) Ehmery bay… Reckz… every single time I fight you I get pumped up. You guys are sharp, open field combat is great, and you bring the fight against all odds.
Dragonbrand has a ton of growing up to do, and match ups like this push things into motion.
Anyway thanks for the great fights everyone.
Great post.
Thank you for the very gracious and kind words.
