seems way more complicated than the basic blast them if they try to come in here stuff I am seeing, but I will check it out.
Thanks, Jayne, interesting.
olleN, I am a scout and sentry. I have incredible patience. But everybody needs a break.
you take a run with the zerg that lasts a few seconds too long, your hard work disappears, the tower is gone.
Jayne, that is amazing dedication.
I don’t understand your point about troll siege. It is so hard to get useful siege set up. Where would the time and energy come from for useless siege (other than those golems.) I run to camps ferrying supply for hours, and guard yaks for hours, and spend way more than I make in WvW for siege. Just to lose it all in 60 min if no one notices it needs to be ticked in time.
It is way too hard to tick meaningful siege every 60 min in the normal play of this game.
Losing that much time and effort is very discouraging and disruptive to the cooperative effort we are trying to achieve.
eep. We need 3-4 hr. We really do. Siege is expensive in time, suppy and gold.
3 hour? let me sleep for a few. please?
One hour is not enough time. Please. Please.
don’t be too cynical. Of course the game designers care about the quality of their work. Why wouldn’t they?
Cool.
The maps are pretty small. Waypoints should not be a huge deal, right? Just run an extra 10 seconds.
“One of the most important aspects of Guild Wars 2 is the spirit of collaboration that we want to foster between players. It’s a core principle behind the event system, the skills in the game, the way we created gathering nodes, etc. Simply put, if a change will cause players to be less inclined to playing with other players, we won’t make it. ..”
I like this : )
It would feel very weird to leave the server I joined when I created my first GW2 character. Like dumping your birth family because you don’t like their hair color or something.
heh, if SoR is paying to get run off by a clumbsy Asura with a lot of arrowcarts, I am delighted.
btw, there is some good sense of humor in TC. It is a quality bunch. Not saying Ehmery Bay isn’t, but TC are good people.
I wondered when I said that if they actually were dominant, but they had a big presence. We are doing ok since they split.
The deal with tagless was insulting and discouraging to people outside their guild. They knew it and some didn’t just not care, enjoyed the damage it caused the server. TC is better off without that.
We can go with tagless, but when trouble happens, someone with the capability should step up, not get into a spiteful ego trip at the server’s expense.
I think we are going to do pretty well. The best of TC is still working.
They will change the set of runes it self they said.
I challenge you to quote me an Anet rep that stated this. The closest you will find is them stating “we will look into them” and all you see is “will will change this”……….Stop posting such misinformation.
The promised change might have been the new Antitoxin Spray heal skill that removes confusion.
What “promised” change. Link me to a “promise” they made to change it.
hmm..I think it is upthread here. It’s a comment by a test engineer at ANet probably 2 (?) weeks ago. He said they were definitely going to do “something” about Perplexity runes.
Chris, the population and style of play is changing but I am not sure TC will level down in the long run. There were some self-defeating egos in the group that left. There is some skill and commitment in the people who stayed and in newcomers. We have all learned from being paired against tier 1 servers. We will see how it goes.
TC is in a transition right now, too. The most dominant guild split about a week ago with more than half of them moving to Sea of Sorrows. We still have a couple of very strong guilds and good commanders, but are seeing plenty of unknowns tag up as well. We are still seeing how things will shake out.
better yet, we are massively outnumbered, so we don’t have to pay repairs when they kill us. Such a deal.
Zero queue on EB right now with TC playing Blackgate and Sanctum of Rall, achievment hunters and PvE garbage and all.
I haven’t tried the heal yet, I just wondered when I saw it if that was supposed to be the fix for Perplexity.
Arreyanne, it sounds like you are saying a lot of WvW players go to play PvE during big events, which is probably true. And I agree that the achievements bring more PvE players into WvW, at least until most people have completed them. It is hard to say how many of the achievement hunters will stick around.
It will not necessarily be a bad thing if some of them do stay. I get the feeling there are not that many regular WvW players compared to the overall population of GW2. I think that is one reason WvW doesn’t get the attention the players want from ANet, there aren’t that many of us.
Sure, but the queues on TC are not usually that bad, and the players can be fairly good. Skill of the players and commanders matters. We also get to play tougher opponents, which is more interesting than playing weak ones.
The promised change might have been the new Antitoxin Spray heal skill that removes confusion.
TC’s queues aren’t that bad. I have never been on another server, but TC seems like a good bunch of people. You don’t see a lot of hostility in Map Chat or anything like that. There are some big, active guilds. Commanders in WvW and PvE are usually helpful and respectful.
I’m not convinced PvE is the main cause of the queues. It’s not people wanting to play PvE on WvW maps that causes the multi-hour queues on Friday nights – it is the number of people who want to play WvW.
I don’t think the toxic storyline is drawing in many if any PvE people, either. There is plenty of that content in PvE with more people playing it, more champs. I think the toxic stuff in WvW was probably a misguided attempt to be inclusive of players who never leave WvW. It doesn’t have that big of an impact (except maybe for pointing out the location of a zerg, as mentioned above.)
The jumping puzzles and map achievements draw in a few people, but that is just for a while for each individual. That would be just a handful of people at any time.
The WvW achievements probably draw a bunch because people like to show off those numbers. But I can see why ANet wants to make sure as many people experience WvW as possible. If WvW players are leaving because of so many newcomers, we will need the newcomers all the more.
queue is about the same
I’m liking ac and treb mastery. It enhances my defensive style of play. It is fun to send an assault dodging and running for cover.
I like mastery, too. It gives you a way to specialize your role on the team. I hope ANet opens up a few more ranks on some of them.
If the opposition brings a zerg, your side has to bring one too.
Think he said over the age of 30. That’s up into the range where people speak in full sentences and make joking references to things like mortages and mother’s-in-law. I would join if they were on my server.
more upgrade options including stronger fortification is a good idea. Some of the home shopping stuff needed for t3 upgrade is a complete waste of supply.
Thank you! Your guild looks like a good fit for us. Joining JQ might feel a little odd since we have enjoyed killing some of you in WvW : )
I would think it is easy to determine how many players are logged onto WvW maps from a server at any given time. AFK would not seem to be a major issue either because you get logged off so quickly in WvW. It is too much of a hassle to try to keep an inactive character logged into WvW for most people to bother with it.
But once you know how many people on average log on from a particular server, what can you do about imbalanced numbers? If more people from one server want to play WvW than from another server, what can you do about it?
Tarnished Coast – Mature, quiet lvl80 couple looking for a mid to large size guild for dungeons, fractals and other multi-player content. Seeking a guild with a significant presence in WvW or one that does not mind members representing another guild in WvW.
We play about 50% PvE, 50% WvW usually in EB.
50? gak. Nobody has time to read that much drek.
do eles get this with vapor form automatically? Hope so.
how do I deny kill? I think I want that.
don’t build them until you need to use them might work.
TC – We had a weird development on our server this week when a dominant guild split up with most of them moving to SoS but some of them including some popular commanders staying with TC. Our style of play is sure to be affected but it could improve if we focus more on defense.
you need testers, not just dump on your customers and wait for them to complain. Testing works. hire testers.
Career software test eng. This needs better testing, enit. This is not working right.
We have only a few hours we can play WvW hard, but we are spending most or all of that in queue. We are being told, no room. Go elsewhere.
I have heard people talk abot Eve. We should check that.
I loved the graphics/scenery and humor in GW and GW2. I like the encouragement to teamwork, and the incluision of women. But if this is maxed, all seats sold, we need to look elsewhere. Only so many hours you can wait in a queue.
My husband and I want to play WvW but we are mostly playing netflix, altho thier selection and bad search engine is a pain. Why do they have so few movies? We used to rent anything from them, now it is a mess.
If GW2 is sold out to the point we can’t play, we need an alternative. Just wondered if anyone knew of a good similar game.
When you get sick of waiting in the queue, what do you play instead? I’m tired of waiting to play WvW and need to look at alternatives.
WvW is overun with Rangers. They seem to be doing ok.
