Be a real good opportunity for anet to bring a new dimension to thief, if your gonna range you forfeit your slippery ness.Why would thief have to lose their mobility and stealth? Druid has long range with very easy low cd Stealth with high mobility, and burst.
I didn’t say they have to lose it I said anet could make it interesting and bring in a new mechanic that would mean you can’t spec for that if you want to range people with your rifle but you get x in its place. We all no they won’t so don’t worry.

Every time I have an opinion on this I seem to get a message telling me I’ve been naughty and can’t comment for a few days.

It’s almost like they want this game mode to disappear, every friend I had in wvw has stopped it seems every week we lose a guild.

Far too much enemy aoe that can easily cover the top. Yet the defenders must stand right on the end so they can hit down usually resulting in being pulled off, cancelling skills or dying.
Arrow carts mortars and canons are pretty much useless and will be destroyed in a few salvos.
I honestly think if they made walls give actual protection it would make a lot of people happy and make defence an actual play type instead of delay for back up and if it doesn’t come just run.
And a bulk option for the mystic forge while we are at it please

Removing trapper runes really isn’t the solution and punishes people who use them on rangers or those weirdos who use them on dh.
A trapper thief is pretty weak sauce just move on and they can’t do a thing, it’s wvw and Condi cancer is everywhere so if you don’t have Condi clear……..how did you think things will go.
I think this toggle idea seems great I can’t see a downside to it, those people who have it so they can’t recieve whispers probably won’t reply anyway so it won’t stop people being social. Just make it default to have no filter so you have to actively turn it on problem solved. So many times I’ll be talking in map/party/guild to actual friends and 3 gold spam messages mean i have to scroll up to read what was said, pretty annoying.
Since basically nobody uses mantras, they figured it was easier to ignore it than actually fix it.
They weren’t wrong. I’ve seen maybe 3 complaints about this since HoT launched.
“Basically nobody”? I roam & small-group as a mesmer in WvW pretty much daily and I’ve seen quite a few other mesmers there that run mantras.
The # of complainers on the forums isn’t exactly the best metric to determine how many people use a skill type. Most players probably just accept the functionality for what it is. Complainers only really come out in numbers if something feels really broken.
Mantras are non-meta/suboptimal in:
All standard PvE builds
All standard PvP builds
Most standard WvW roaming builds
Most standard WvW group buildsYeah, I’m sure you see some mesmers running around with a bar full of mantras, but to people that know the class, that’s essentially a big target over their head saying ‘inexperienced/bad player here , kill me first!’
A full bar of mantras yes not the best idea but 1 or 2 are sub optimal in pvp/wvw? Are you forgetting the Condi clear for the cancer or the interrupt that they provide to shatter mesmer damage?
Most mesmer I encounter have at least 1 unless they are the boon bot zerg type.
Am I doing something wrong or is there no way to change the stats on ascended accessories?
I’ve used the anthology of heroes to change armour and weapons but it doesnt work on rings/trinkets .
I’ve got plenty of ascended rings I’d like to change as they are useless to me atm is this possible?
If it’s not possible is there a reason behind it? Like would it make things unfair or break markets etc etc

Before I start I just wanna say this is not a nerf rev thread this is a totally l2p issue for me, I’ve tried to play and learn but Its just not for me.
Basically currently in wvw I’m having a lot of trouble killing you guys, it seems that every time I try I get a crazy amount of block/invuln. Now I no you don’t have permanent access to this and it’s me but my burst is just wasted 80% of the time. I play reaper and mesmer in wvw and I tried corrupting boons but they just come back.
Any help….pretty please ?
1. What hard counters rev? Or what is it weak to?
2. What should I look out for? (think ranger knockback you no it’s followed by a rapid fire or zerker stance icon on warrior )
I read somewhere on here that in fights >20 power is the way to go maybe to do with so much Condi clear? But I’d always recommend running power, Condi is………well there’s just way too much of it in wvw so it’s more of a moral decision

Deso is currently fighting the equivalent of 5 servers, we just don`t have those numbers, when you`ve got 25 on a map , you get an outnumbered buff and you get mobbed by two 40+ blobs constantly, it starts to put people off playing because it simply is NO fun.
Thats why it seems so quiet to him.

I didn’t say they were undefended it was meant as a fix in regards to servers who have night teams. People have jobs/school so it seems abit harsh to punish them for going to sleep. Also yes I’m talking about eu time zones so night is night. ATM on our server at about midnight we can muster maybe about 5-10 people which is totally useless against a night crew of about 30. Also as for wvw breaking down as a mode maybe that’s a good thing between the hours of 1am and 7am although I fail to see how it would break down as camps would still be flippable for the die hards who reject sleep.
I know it’s been mentioned and tons of solutions have been mentioned but I’d like to throw in my 2p.
How about give keeps and towers a buff after a certain time that makes them almost impossible to take (almost being the key word). This would only be an option if they met certain criteria during the day time hours such as upgraded to T3 and not taken for so many hours and spend a ton of supply etc
It could be part of an upgrade track in which you can recruit a few legendary NPCs for night time “re inforcements”.
I’m just so sick of wasting money and time on siege and upgrading bay and hills only to wake up and it was taken by about 10 people.
ATM people on my server just say the same thing, " don’t bother it’ll be flipped over night anyway" if people had a reason to defend maybe they would.

They are just so boring to fight, like really boring and so predictable. Tickle with the laser stick then run to the hills, so we chase and when you realise you will never catch them turn and proceed to the next objective only to be tickle sticked again. Eventually the lack of Borden causes you to lapse into a coma and that ugly spikey pet Wiggles spikes onto you till you die.
Its kinda ruined ranger for me and forced me to play other classes in wvw, staff had so much potential and I was hoping it would be what the thief staff is now not some harry potter stick.
Dam I also haven’t played HoT story nor the living story bar season 1.
I feel like I’m missing so much but I can’t seem to leave wvw.
I’m ashamed to admit I’ve got a level 80 of each class and played since release yet I’ve never finished a personal story, after claw island I usually give up. After seeing this i must pull my finger out.

Ranger was never a door mat they just refused to not play longbow pew pew and got smashed when the gap was closed.
I loved melee ranger pre HoT it was my main wvw build. Remember using pets like wolf to fear and prevent stomps now it’s just let them run free and heal up so passive.

I’m really trying to play and enjoy it, my only draw to this game is wvw but for some reason they are hell bent on destroying it. All the new content with HoT the specialisations the raids and yet wvw we are still having the same issues only now it seems they have lost the last bits of common sense.
Surely gems can not be the reason behind this because no one is that short sighted to see that destroying a game mode means no gems at all.

Regardless of how much fight the players put in to remain you seem desperate to manipulate it to your standards. Madness.
Druids are pretty much the one thing i can’t burst with my gunflame. I’ll land the hit…they go to 25%, they instant heal. They use that stupid wild leap thing to run when they are in trouble and their pet STAYS ontop of me ccing and doing dmg to me. Then they just use another movement skill to come back to me at 100% hp like they are fully refreshed….and im sitting there with abilities still on cd with hardly anything available to use to defend myself. I played with one of them yesterday…..we did that back and forth 3 TIMES! And finally i decided i was gonna lose the 4th time so I ran back to spawn where i got downed by spawn next to our legendary defenders. They had to fire 3 salvo’s before they killed his stupid pet cause of kitten invulnerabilities.
Srsly fix the pet situation with rangers….random invulnerabilities all the friggin time. I’m supposed to ignore the pets right? Then why can their pet maintain aggro right ontop of me when the ranger is over 2500 range away from me? I wouldn’t be surprised if the ranger is getting ooc and just leaping back to where his pet is mauling me.
We also need to be able to interrupt ranger heals in a meaningful way….interrupting their heal should be a death sentence for them and yet its a “oh lets stealth/run and wait 3 seconds or oh it doens’t matter since my heal can’t be interrupted anyways”.
Should we even rant about thier healing abilities? like cmon…..they seem to make the downed and themselves MORE powerful after getting them up (a process you will not be able to stop without a large force or engie). ITs basically 2 periods of invulnerability for the downed player, and they are just as powerful and hard hitting when they get back up (thanks downed penalty).I personally would take the downed penalty 24/7 all the time, if in return it gave me 2 separate periods of complete condi clear and invulnerability. who wouldn’t?
Perfect example of what I ‘m talking about. You clearly have no idea how to fight a ranger, you aren’t paying any attention to their skills or trying to figure out their build, you just expect to face tank it and overpower them.
Please do share the correct way then.
So far regardless of what class my only solution is outnumber the druid and pray you can cc them.
The ones that dont die hit like a wet noodle so not an immediate threat, however they are great scouts and guarenteed you’ll see that stupid staff AA the second you engage someone.

I don’t even bother fighting them anymore it’s totally pointless, hurt them they run heal up and come back to tickle you to death. Good luck catching them especially on classes like reaper.
Last night about 15 people chased one down for 10 mins before they gave up with all the ridiculous 10% to full heal moments.
I’m not calling for a nerf because the ones that dont die dont fight, so their abundance of room downstairs is punishment enough.
So does something like this happen quick or is it a long process?
Who would want to miss out on a week of blobs and night capping.

One day I’ll be able to play mace but for now I just don’t understand how to and keep going back to axe.
I’d love to see a reduction of invuln and a reduction of Condi cheese which would lead to less reason to take resistance, win win.

Returning after a long break I was so happy to have the qol changes to salvaging and consuming magic find however it seems the mystic forge is still a finger killer.
Could we have an option to set the amount we would like to forge? For example putting 1000 runes in one by one could just be replaced with a forge so many, like in crafting.
People have recommended I use macros but I’ve heard you could get banned so it’s a no no atm.
I apologise if there is a way to get around this issue.

I don’t understand what the problem is I saw a party totally outplay another group regardless of class. If they want to stand in hundred blades/burst to try and res with no invuln it’s more the fool to them, nothing to do with being op.
Out of all the builds roaming wvw now I don’t class warrior as op just out distance between you and them and you win.
Another awesome thing is it has a small cool down of about 25sec. It took me a long time to get used to not using the stance though, I tried losing endure pain and relying on the passive proc in defense but I found it unreliable. I’m going to try again going for the taunt and 10% increase and see if I can live without the stability, hopefully kill before I’m cced
I’ve started to run signet of might for this exact reason, it’s also good if you want to run rifle against all the reflects. I swapped out balanced stance for it and traited for stability and stun break when going into zerk. It’s not the same without the stance but wvw has become an awful bunker game with combat mostly looking like “block block invuln invuln block”
Thief’s regardless of build. I actually like the class but they just seem to be played by real scum bags, the kind that roam 3+ and insta gank or my favourite ones that let you solo a camp and jump in while your hp is low to finish you.
I don’t even bother engaging druids anymore as it’s just a waste of time.
Now that wvw is like 80% dragon hunters they are also becoming tedious, teleport trap burst, invuln invuln block block rinse repeat over and over.
Other than that I don’t mind anything else.

I just don’t get why it can’t have a cancel animation that isn’t a bug. When the builds best feature is a bug what does that tell you ? I personally have no love for thief’s especially the d/p type which seems is being made the only option for wvw, i really feel bad for thief’s who want variety or acrobatic game play which is something I never thought I’d say.

I think it would be great to have a casual kinda look as an alternative to the rest. I’m not talking comedy Hawaii 5 shorts or speedos but just some normal shorts that I can dye.
Danikat makes an excellent point, I’ve always wondered why the option for tattoos customisation exists since you can’t see it on males unless you actually run around naked.

I’m really hoping I’m not mistaken but why is it not possible to have shorts for male characters aside from those town clothes (khaki shorts?)
I can dress my female classes up so skimpy you can actually see things (see most human thief) but I can’t seem to find shorts or a t shirt looking chest for males. Only one I’ve found is a beginner rawhide chest.
Is it not a tad biased that if I play a male I have to make him head to toe covered up ?

Also, you get a group of any particular class and it’s going to be very OP. Imagine a group of all LB rangers chain Rkitten you to death, or a group of grenade engi’s chaining thier Grenade Barrages. Me and few others in my guild roamed around one time, all on our zerker Hammer warriors, we were unstoppable.

I’d love to see a group of rangers or engi but on my server i only seem to play against thief roaming groups of the shadow arts/condi kind (especially barach bay they love some 5 man thief action)
I wasn’t clear about going up against a group of them I apologise, I meant equal numbers vs equal numbers ofc the bigger number wins….usually
But a huge burst of unavoidable backstabs from several thief’s in quick succession is just home time.
I also think rangers and engi’s aren’t even close as slippery as thief’s so like I said I’d welcome it.
I’d rather dodge grenades and rapid fire any day
It’s just a sad situation atm thief’s are gave crap for whatever they run. S/d evade spam p/d condi cheese but i personally think d/p shadow arts is just pure cancer, kitten that most people think, remove condis in stealth, heal in stealth why wouldn’t I want to take this?
It’s impossible to kill a good d/p thief sure you can make them retreat and you can see that as a victory but meh.
Get them low poof there gone.
Condi unload on them poof there gone.
Get 3-5 in a roaming party poof your gone insta ganked.
Of course if they make a mistake and get to impatient there dead.
I mean basilisk venom backstab is enough to make you use a utility and a heal. We all no they will keep reseting and whittle you down.
I used to get mad but i don’t see it as losing anymore.
