You can’t imagine how frequently I see this, playing a necro with both plague signets, trait and utility. Basically it’s impossible to prevent because it’s hard to know who is the original caster of a condition, unless you don’t equip/use at all the plague signet or plague sending, but that is extremely fun to play.

In the past I used PvP to relax, to pass time, now I can’t stop the ANGER, I am NOT having fun on mostly of matches, losing when I was 100% of the win, just because some crap builds that should not exist in the game, making everything extremely unfair and unbalanced, like being fighting for 2 minutes to see one noob wipe us with a crappy trap and spamming skill 1.

This is the WORST moment in GW2 PvP history for serious players than want to really play and enjoy the game, and not exploit unfair builds.

In my personal opinion, the Guardian situation at the moment is really sad. Long time without seeing a “normal” guardian that is not using bow/trap build, all possibilities of interesting and fun builds wasted.

In arrogance they created a balance that forces players to play something entirely different to win negating most (in some cases all) skill they had before.

Well, I already abandoned my Warrior long ago because adrenaline decay change, today you can see no one use it in the PvP league at all.

Now I play Necro, but I still prefer the core Death Shroud because is long range, and my favorite, but ArenaNet decided to make me feel “inferior” if I prefer the core specializations, this is an overall problem, not just with Necro.

If this is not enough, we get the Revenant, in a word: Ridiculous (to not make this post larger, I have no plan to discuss about that class here, there are already posts about it)

well meta is by definition something that works well or for the best.

If u change /add things … ofc this will change and something meta couldn’t be meta anymore. Or something that was “fine” or “ok” could be the worst thing ever. That’s what i meant.

U seem just not loving changes and hope the game will stay as it is forever. But if u do that… ppl will start leaving so it’s the same consequences. But the duration will be different. The game will live longer this way.

U can be good but with an awful build with no synergy … that every ppl are able to easily counterplay yours… u won’t go any further… that’s what i’m trying to say… U have to adapt yourself and try different things as the things has changed.

Testing and discovering new builds that works better is a part of the game.

You don’t get my point. Meta should be sane, not insane. You cannot just give 10000000000 HP to necros to make them “meta” (that is an example, not really talking about necros, just in case)

Your post is unnecessarily acid, but I will answer anyway. I only play builds I enjoy, and I never or rarely play meta, only if I think is fun to play. In a balanced or semi-balanced game, if you are good, you should be able to be competitive that way.

And meta is not synonymous of overpower. That’s why I used the “quotes”.

Yes Arenanet, I love the league, finally something to do in PvP, but this is the last time I play a league if you allow extremely overpowered builds/classes that are 100% needed to win. I don’t like that “meta” classes/builds, I have no plan to play something different than my favorite builds, I was able to be competitive in PvP with my own builds for 3 years until now, I just want to enjoy the game. Bye.

In my opinion, all this overpower thing is an ArenaNet tactic to force everybody to buy the expansion to win. A disguised form of “pay to win”. Similar thing happened in the past with new GW1 professions/classes, but after some time, everything was finally balanced/nerfed, I bet the same will happen to Revenant and elite specializations.

Revs and bunkers are deciding the games right now, DH is secondary concern.

I must agree that Guardians playing ping pong with people with extremely EXCESSIVE CC and extremely fast damage is disturbing the fun of the league, and the time I am using to play it. I am not even discussing they are heavy armor tanks with perma stability.

I don’t get what exactly was ArenaNet thinking adding that skills/traits to game, I play PvP for enjoying as fair as possible fights, specially the 1vs1.

This is NOT about balance, it’s just about enjoying PvP. It’s normal if a MMO has unbalance, but this is exaggerated and anti fun.

Note: I am talking about good players using this build, I read some people say it’s easy to manage? it’s always easy to manage bad players, whatever the build, and a LOT of bad players use this build because is basically an EXPLOIT.

PvP doesn’t have an issue with overpowered. If anything people been dying slower this time around.


It has an issue with CC spam, hyper support bunkers, skills and traits that do to much, chill spam, glassy classes with a lot of defense, large AoE CC spam, across class imbalances like The Facet of Nature is more powerful than the elite Signet of Rage.

It is the messiest PvP.

That is overpower.

Yes, I am not going to discuss details, but in my PERSONAL opinion, the level of overpower in PvP after expansion is TOO MUCH, to the point of not being funny.

I have +3 years playing, I can manage this problem and still win most of the fights, but I still prefer the slow fights, after expansion everything is like 2x speed, too much frenzy in my opinion.

Looks like the 64bit version can’t play with partially downloaded client, need full download.

By the way, I want the Exe name to be Gw2.exe, because I track the time I use with applications. Maybe I can rename it? or maybe the final version of this will be in different folder? or better, remove 32bits support and change to 64bits with the same name?

About my testing, I don’t see any difference, apart of the exe using more RAM.

I think people are confusing things here. Not being able to play a Revenant don’t make you less effective in WvW, it is totally understandable not being able to play one if you don’t have the expansion, same for elite specializations, that are not so “elite”, I mean, core builds could be superior.

Now, the siege is a different thing. In my opinion everyone should be able to interact and use all siege property, including free accounts, everyone. Also, I think some masteries should be available for core accounts too, the more basic ones.

I should be more than veteran, a super veteran saiyajin, because no mesmer can kill me in 5 sec, not in a 1vs1. But yes, mesmer burst is overpowered. By the way, I have years thinking mesmers shouldn’t have stealth, they already have clones, but it’s just my opinion, only thief should be able to stealth. Clones plus stealth is a complete mess.

I am noticing many people leave in hotjoin on Stronghold map, I am also forced to change to different server. I don’t think the reason is “people think the map is bad” or something, I think it is the build and being used to play Conquest for many maps, and suddenly: Stronghold.

So, remove Stronghold from hotjoin, or better, add servers that are Stronghold only. Also, add server that is Deathmatch only.

I have no idea what skill is this but is a Revenant one. Everytime that skill is casted, create a red animation on the floor that is exactly the color you AVOID in a +100 people fight in WvW, and is annoying because you need fast reactions, and in the middle of a confusing battle of hundreds of people, that skill looks like the enemy zerg is attacking you, my brain reacts and want to evade the incoming damage. Please ArenaNet, never make a skill that create red things on the floor, thanks.

I suppose adding more dps and support to necromancer will make the class overpowered? that’s maybe the problem here. Imagine a necro with the burn damage of a guardian, with +50k of HP?

I am “almost” ok with necro in WvW/PvP, but I am sure there are considerable problems in PvE, dungeons/fractals.

It’s an issue with Windows 10 but it also an issue with Guild Wars 2 because it only seems to happen with this game. I figured out how to stop it by right clicking on the gw2 shortcut then go to properties, and the compatibility tab change it to windows 8.

Thanks for the Win8 compatibility tip, it worked.

It is indeed only GW2 on Win10, I tested some games and this does not happens, this is a problem specially if you have high volume speakers that make you literally jump out of the chair.

You mean graphics lag? in that case the lag will be in your PC only, not affecting others. Could be optional (enable/disable option)

Example: Changing the bag texture from brown to white, and always showing the nameplate of bags is not going to add any “lag”.

You don’t need to spam it, press it when you see the exp fly up on your screen, or every 5-10s in a fight. Unless you were part of a really fast moving drawn out fight area I don’t have a problem with it. I very rarely have to go back to look for bags.

Not that I disagree for better visuals, not just loot bags but for other stuff too.

I have 3 years doing that exactly, I still lose a lot of bags, I play in tier 1 where action is guarantied, and hitting an additional key, apart of the 20 keys I need to hit to fight, when 50 people are trying to kill me is not always an option.

Playing sPvP is a different story, you don’t need to loot anything, the fight is always fluid, and you still get loot with the PvP reward track and automatically at the match end. That way is a lot better than WvW.

I’m not understanding how that’s a real issue.

I don’t get it either. Mines the shift key, my pinky finger clicks it when I see exp on my screen. When you see exp on screen during fights usually you get some sort of loot from it.

So you both don’t have ANY problem at all with the loot bags being almost invisible on the floor? you are happy randomly spamming loot key? and needing to recheck the area after all fights?

Don’t want a loot icon on minimap? or more visible bags?

You can make a keybind for aoe loot. When you die during fights respawn and the loot bags still come to you.

My AoE loot key is bound to my TS push-to-talk key.

I already use the aoe loot key, from the very first second it was added.

Basically, spamming the key to get the “invisible” loot of the floor, not even being sure if I have or not loot on the floor, in the middle of a hundred of people, in a dark map.

Did you set the loot all key?
I have minds set to L-Alt and hit it every once in a while.

I do hate having to hold ctrl to see other stuff like siege names, enemy names, harvest nodes etc.

Yes, of course I use loot all feature, it is a very good feature, but randomly hitting that key on “invisible” loot is also annoying.

After 3 years playing WvW, I can say I am really sick of the low visibility the loot bags have in the WvW maps, specially when fighting in big groups. Plus I need to hit the key “show enemy names” to actually see the bags name. Additionally, the fluidity of the fight breaks when you need to go back to see if there are bags left on the floor.

Something like showing a loot icon on minimap, increasing visibility of loot in the floor, or auto looting to inventory, should be implemented to the game.

Same problem. After the patch the profession icons for me appear as black blocks (see screenshot). I tried to see if changing to simple UI will fix that and got the crash.

I confirm that problem, black icons instead of class icons in PvP. I have party simple UI on for months, not even tried to change it so cannot confirm the crash.

Given that plague gives you no means to handle movement impairing conditions and can’t deal with ranged kiting at all, it makes a pretty kitten poor escape unless you’re within hobbling distance of a tower/keep.

It’s intended strength is bunkering in PvP…………

With escape I mean survive, I survived hundreds of times with Plague. Of course, I don’t play alone in WvW, and Necros are not Warriors, so not real better way to escape bad moments.

I also use it in PvP because of the ridiculous tanking. Basically, I use that Elite everywhere, WvW, PvE, PvP.

Side note: I don’t really think meta will change to conditions, maybe the first days, then people will return to direct damage again.

Not sure If people is missing something here, or I am, but Plague is going to add a maximum of 2 stacks of bleeding at the same time, that is nothing, by the time you get the 3rd stack, the 1st one end.

People have calculated it, it is effectively 40 ticks of bleeds, and that is with no added bleed duration, and they will tick for at least 180 per second in a condi build. A very conservative estimate puts it at dealing 7200 damage to yourself in a condi build, but you could easily go over 10k self damage, just to use your elite. This also doesn’t include whatever the MoC condition does.

I use Plague as an emergency button, to escape in WvW, and normally cancel it in a few seconds, the main benefits I like more is the increased toughness/vitality and stability, that part was not nerfed. I don’t see the bleeding nerf as big as others see it, of course I don’t like it. Also, I use a Power build, so how much bleeding damage I could get? I think I am not going to notice it.
